The Martin & Frances Lehnis Railroad Museum

I was very disappointed to find the place closed when I got there. My family came all the way from copperas cove for a visit. The website said open with nothing pertaining to covid and there was no recording on the answering machine of the covid closure. We only found out of the closure when we got there and read the note on the door. Is this good business?

We visited as part of the Airstream rally in downtown Brownwood and the museum is great .. lots of Brownwood Santa Fe RR station history including the Harvey House history. Lots of layouts to fascinate the little ones

We took our 2 1/2 year old twin boys this weekend for the first time and loved it! The staff was so friendly and they were there to answer all of our questions. We were so impressed with the museum. Great train exhibits and our boys loved watching the model trains travel around the museum. They also loved the play area where they played with trains and many more toys, and we enjoyed the history in the exhibits. We capped it off with a ride on the mini train, and the engineer was so sweet to our boys who loved it in spite of the cold weather. A great time and I am proud Brownwood has a special place like this. We will be back.

Had so much fun at the museum for the world of wheels. So many things to see. Grandson had a blast getting to work the fire hose and get into all the equipment and trucks. He loved the train ride. Thank you for putting on this special event.

Fun place for a wedding!

Fun day trip. Took my teenagers and my 7 yo and all had a good time. Took us about an hour and a half. Unfortunately not all the model trains were working, but everyone enjoyed touring inside the 2 real train cars out front. Many things to read about trains inside the museum. Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly.

Had an epic time here with my 8 year old bonus kid. The harry potter day was awesome!

Very fun and informative. The caboose and passenger car you can go in are the cherry on top!

I like loved this place. It was fun to go through and the lady even turned on the trains. Theres a safe that you can try to open. I couldnt get it but it was fun trying. They had other hands on exhibits also bit that was my favorite. I loved going through the train out front too. And, of course, I rang the bell just inside. Its pretty loud lol. Cant wait to visit again.

This is a railroad museum and it has super excellent displays very detailed and the people are really really helpful and nice

Stopped by on a Saturday, staff is super friendly! Kids enjoyed the exhibits and the train ride was great for the price. Definitely worth a visit if you are in town.

Love the staff and all the exhibits. Was a wonderful surprise to see such a well-ran and interactive museum in rural Texas. We have continued to visit multiple times since moving to Brownwood about a year ago.

My toddler loves trains, and as I suspected, he loved this place! We took him on a Saturday, so that he could ride the miniature train outside the museum. Cheap prices, friendly staff and volunteers, cute/touchable exhibits. $3 well spent.

Fantastic museum. Lots of interactive displays for little kids. Well cared for and obvious the staff are inspired hard workers.Cant recommend this museum enough.

This place is a must stop If you have kids, ever had a model train set, or any interest in trains. They have a little bit of everything to look at, from actually train cars, to various running scale model trains. Admission is cheap too. Just be sure to go with adequate time, you will likely be there longer than you expected.
