I would like to share what a great company this is! My plant order arrived one day early, in perfect condition and ready for my tank! They gave me a VERY generous amount of each plant! The box had an ice pack in it to keep the plants cool and even emailed me when the order had been delivered to my mailbox so it didnt sit out in the sun for long. The duckweed sprouted in two days and my fish are happy, happy campers! I HIGHLY recommend this company!

My shipment of Japanese rice fish arrived yesterday in perfect condition. I have always wanted to try this species, but I had no luck finding them near my home in the Chicago area, so I was thrilled to find them available from Aquatic Arts. Also, I spend most of the summer at a tiny cabin in upstate NY, where I establish a little container pond each summer with a waterlily. Everything got here beautifully packaged and perfectly on schedule. First time customer here.I’ve been on their website for many months waiting for a specific fish to be back in stock.I even signed up for email notification on the arrival of this fish (which never came).I placed a $100 order this weekend, kindly sent an email asking to delay my shipment and the email the I received back stated that my order was canceled..I was not asked if I wanted my order canceled; I was given zero options on the matter.Over the weekend, I bought a $150 tank and accessories specifically for this order.So as of this morning, I have roughly $250 tied up into a fish that I now will not be receiving.WONDERFULI’m upset because I waiting months to be able to make this order and I spent lots of money in total.Customer service could use some work.Now I’m worried I will ever get this fish, let alone a quality fish..I know colors vary on this particular species so now I worry I will not get the nicer fish as I’ve complained and left a 1 Star review.This saddens me as a new customer.

I was waiting for a few weeks to pass after I got my plants and snails to write a review. Well, 3 weeks have passed and everything is amazing! I ordered 5 B-grade moss balls and 7 arrived they look so healthy! I ordered a Anubias plant and it is looking good as well (first time having some plants in the tank), and I also ordered 5 mystery snails and got 8! They are all still alive and healthy, it only took a few hours for them to start exploring the tank and I’m just so happy with the service aquatic arts provides! Not to mention their packaging is top notch! They answered my emails quickly and were super friendly, I will definitely be a returning customer.

This is my third shipment from Aquatic Arts and I am SO impressed! Everything is always EXACTLY as presented, and all at the peak of health. The creatures and living plants are packaged with care and consideration. The pom-pom crab even had a little platform in the package so it would feel more secure. Really! We ordered 2 crayfish online and couldn’t have been more satisfied with our purchase and the customer service! We were hesitant to order live animals online but they were packaged extremely well and arrived in perfect and healthy condition, and didn’t seem at all impacted from their USPS trip from IN to GA. They also looked as promised and as in the pictures. Staff from Aquatic Arts were very accessible and responsive and we received detailed tracking updates and acclimation instructions. I got....CRABS! Micro ones to be exact and dont forget the snails too! This was my first time ordering anything live online so I was a bit nervous. I’m new to the aquarium world and I was trying to find a couple zebra horned nerite snails for my first tank. I checked all the local pet shops and nobody was carrying them. I checked online and Aquatic Arts was hands down the best site to buy from based on my comparisons. Other sites charged extra for insulated packaging and ice/heat packs. I found that appalling, how can you expect to safely ship a live animal without temperature control? Shouldn’t that be a given? Also one site I found wanted to charge me $60 for shipping. Aquatic Arts had very reasonable prices and shipping prices and a great selection. Their customer service was also top notch. I placed the order and then had a last minute change of plans in my schedule and they worked with me to ensure that I would be home when the snails arrived. Thanks Aquatic Arts!

So we bought three pom poms and a Java fern, the fern is doing fantastic (which is fair because you can basically grow one in a toilet) but the pom poms didnt fair as well, and unfortunately died.We emailed the page and Preston gave us solid advice and worked with us every single step of the way. Their customer service is beyond fantastic and is by far the best company Ive ever dealt with. They care about their customers and more importantly care very well for the animals. They will undoubtedly work with you and help explain what went wrong. If you in the market for shrimps, crabs, or even just plants they will ABSOLUTELY exceed any expectations you have and I will definitely be shopping with them whenever possible moving forward. I know Google only allows 5 stars, but based purely on how we were treated they deserve a 10/10.

I am in the process of re-stocking a 100+ gallon freshwater tank that I recently refreshed. I have never purchased fish on-line, but chose Aquatic Arts because every review was 5-stars. Rightly so. Preston, Bill and Henry were all very helpful with my questions (and multiple changes to my order). The fish, snails and shrimp arrived exactly as scheduled, beautifully packed in an insulated box with their own little heat packs, and healthy. Everyone is doing well about 5 days in.Just a note: The sell-sizes they give are accurate, so when they tell you the sell size of a juvenile pleco is 1 to 1-1/2 thats what you get. Its a lot smaller than you realize. But theyre healthy and beautiful, so no complaints!I cant wait for the out-of-stock tetras to arrive!

Disclaimer: this is not the container they were shipped in; this was a Frogbit container I also ordered from them that I let them crawl into, out of the very well packaged container wrapped in paper towels to get them better acclimated. I let them crawl out on their own from their original container and then again into the pond, they did it very willingly once they found their way. These are obviously very high quality and a company that really cares!!! I also loved the “live fish!” Sticker on the box, UPS can be rough sometimes and I think this helped tremendously.The Ramshorn snails were so lively and beautiful, the frogbit was also amazing and super healthy (the red is it’s underside). My fish are always hiding but they’re actually coming out to nip and play with the frogbit now! I absolutely love this company and wouldn’t shop anywhere else now. I love this place!! I order 2 snails from them, and the packaging was amazing! (Mind you I live in MS, so they traveled a good way) Ive ordered aquatic animals from other places and they were just thrown in a bag of water and shipped off, but not these guys! Great company, I am local to them and although they don’t have a retail store that you can just walk into they’re more than willing to let you do local pickup. They also will refund your shipping and combine orders if you place multiple, which I wasn’t expecting so it was a nice surprise when I got a $23 refund for an order. The fish are always healthy and packaged really well. Never had a dead fish (or snail for that matter) arrive from them. All the fish always look healthy and I’ve never had problems with them being sick.

My last order was red ridding hood shrimp arrived alive and doing fine. They pack them with much care so they survive shipping along with care instructions on how to accurately acclimate to your tank. With each order they email you to find out how they did during shipment. They actually care. On there web site they give full info on what is the best tank conditions for the fish. So you know before hand if they will thrive in your tank as well what they will eat. Most companies don’t give these facts.... Aquatic Arts I suggested to friends and family to buy from.

I then ordered from Arizona Gardens and the snails I got from them were poor quality and died shortly after. Not to mention I ordered fish in same shipment and they were dead on arrival and after submitting a claim to them they have failed to reply to me almost 2 months and counting. I then went back to ordering fish, more snails, and plants from Aquatic arts and every thing arrived healthy and thriving. Aquatic arts also takes the time to reach out to you for excellent customer service when needed. I’m highly impressed with them and find myself ordering something every week from them as they are constantly getting in hidden gems all the while. Great Site and will definitely impress you.

I love Aquatic Arts. I’ve ordered several times and each time they go above and beyond as far as customer service. I made a mistake ordering, and they fixed it for me with no issue. We had a power outage after placing my order and they were very understanding about putting off my order a few days. Everything arrived with no casualties. They even threw in extras which I greatly appreciate. Shipping overnight to my zip code was extremely cheap. I have never seen that before! Everything looks healthy and was eating within minutes. Emails were answered quickly. I highly recommend aquatic arts to anyone ordering online.

I am very impressed with the snails I received and the service. You could not ask for a nicer group of helpful people. A couple of my snails we DOA and they made the situation right with a pleasant attitude! It’s rare to find that kind of service these day! For those of us who live in areas where there are no good fish stores, this is where you should go online for fish, plants, and invertebrates (not to mention advice!). Aside from having a huge variety of healthy everything (which changes all the time based on availability), they are quick to return emails, and take the time to answer each question personally. If you have a problem with an order (exmp. an unexpected blizzard keeps fish from showing up on time) they are very willing to replace anything that didnt make it alive (and give you a shoulder to cry on), then also contact the transit provider to find out what caused the delay. I have never had such a wonderful experience with a retailer. They love the aquarium hobby as much as you do (probably more).

Ordered 6 rams and 3 pairs of Endlers. Everything arrived in great shape. All fish were eating within 6 hours. In 24 hours, I had 10 baby Endlers! The fish colored up nicely and compare favorable to the images on the web site.Did have to wait several days for the fish to ship, but well under the 1-7 business days promised. The rams are on the small side (young), but I prefer to grow them out anyhow. Im very happy with the fish and the manner they were sent. I appreciated all the guidance on what to expect and what shipping method to use.

Fantastic company!!! Incredible customer service and impressively committed to the welfare of the fish/inverts they sell. This was my first time ordering fish online. I have been checking out the Aquatic Arts website and getting their email newsletter for a while and decided this was the best company to go with. SO happy with my experience. I now have 18 gorgeous kuhli loaches. They arrived exactly on time via UPS, in fantastic condition, very active and with excellent coloration - clearly not too stressed by the experience. They continue to be extremely active, eating voraciously and they are out pretty much all day which is extraordinary because they are known for being a very timid, virtually nocturnal species. You can see from my photos how plump and colored-up they are. Nothing at all like the poor loaches I sometimes see at pet stores. Ill put this down partly to their being in such great condition pre-ship, partly due to speedy overnight shipping (worth every cent) and partly due to being in a large group, since they are shoaling fish.That last point is really important to me, personally. I love that Aquatic Arts strongly discourages people from buying shoaling fish in ones, twos, threes or other small numbers. They try to educate buyers that for the health and happiness of certain creatures, its imperative they be in large groups. For example, they will not sell a group of less than three kuhlis. The minimum you can buy is a group of three, and they ask that you only buy such a small number if youre adding them to an existing group. I also really love that Aquatic Arts is working towards selling more and more US tank-bred fish/inverts. This is so much better for the critters and the environment. KUDOS!

I have ordered beautiful varieties of freshwater shrimp twice from Aquatic Arts and both times they were on point! I originally bought some at my local pet store which was a big mistake. The shrimp did not seem healthy and died soon after. The shrimp from Aquatic Arts are so healthy! They are active and beautiful. The shrimp do like a heavily planted tank. My plant experience was the same as my shrimp buying experience. I started at the pet store where the plants just didn’t look great but I gave them a try. They did nothing but rot in my tank. I then ordered plants from Aquatic Arts and they are head and shoulders above what you’d get at a big chain pet store. Don’t waste your time and money going anywhere else but Aquatic Arts! They are THE BEST!!!!

Prior to placing my order, I had a few questions regarding the care of the Pagoda and Assassin snails as I had never owned anything before. I emailed Aquatic Arts expecting some automated response or vague answer. Why would such a popular site take the time to answer the email of someone who hasnt actually purchased anything yet? Instead, I received a detailed response addressing all of my questions. My follow-up questions were answered in similar detail.Furthermore, I had ordered the shrimp two days before the snails as the snails were initially out of stock. I was bummed that I had to pay two shipping fees. Without prompting, Henry combined my two orders, thus saving me ~$15. This was not something I did not know was possible and if Henry had not done it, I would never had known about it. I love working with these guys. I have ordered from them a couple times and are always quick to respond. They help with stocking advice, general questions, and what ever random thing i seem to throw at them. Shipping is a bit expensive (any overnight shipping of live animals is) but their selection is generally pretty different than youd see in a typical aquarium store. I also really like how they provide care information for each fish friend you intend to purchase. i find some sellers that do this are often off or the information is so vague it could apply to any fish. Thats why i go with these guys. I know what i am getting and i get a good sense of how to take care. Not encouraging you to end your research there of course look around but they are pretty spot on and a great reference. Def give these guys a look. Their selection is so fun to scroll through.

Newest members of our office staff arrived today, very feisty and exploring the tank like crazy! Pebbles (white) and BamBam (blue) - they are busy turning over ever rock and checking out the rocks and plants. Might have to add more rocks so they can each have their own place to hang out! This is a great company that cares for their animals. Ive ordered a mystery snail (received two), RCS and Endlers from this company and everyone arrived safe and healthy. They would not ship the snails and shrimp until it was warm enough to safely transport them and I was impressed by that. They also gave me an extra Endler on my last order. They are expanding soon as business is booming and could not be more happy for them. It will be worth it to make the drive from Chicago when the new facility opens.
