I love American Aquaria. The staff is very helpful and the fish are exquisite. They always ask the right questions and their knowledge is second to none. If you have an aquarium either salt or freshwater, I highly recommend these folks!!

I called every fish store in the surrounding Milwaukee area only to get rushed off the phone, and given false information. I called this store and the guy just listened without interrupting me. I’m having issues with cycling my tank, he told me to come in and he would give me some beneficial bacteria out of one of their tanks. None of the other stores offered to do that. The guy was amazing with answering questions. I live a good 30 minutes from this store, however this will be my new go to even though I have a fish store 0.3 miles from my house.

First time at this shop and I was really impressed. Very clean and organized inside. Many well maintained tanks. Store was much larger than I would have guessed seeing it from the outside (entrance is on the south side of the building). Staff were friendly and helpful but not pushy. They had a nice selection of plants, with discounts for purchasing multiples. I will definitely be back.

Really cool hidden gem of a fish store. Lots of great fish for really good prices. Some of the best prices for fish Ive seen. Great looking plants but they have snails, so watch out if you dont want them in the tank. Corals and saltwater fish are well kept and again good prices for those.

Fresh, modern, well stocked with a superb variety of healthy freshwater and saltwater fish. Prices are very reasonable. America Aquaria is staffed with well informed hobbyists that are patient and friendly. This store has an open and clean design that reflects the calming nature of the hobby.

Prices are good.. Have gotten a few fish here I dont think sale associates can tell the difference between a girl and boy fish..I bought two.. They tell you but you later find out years later, you have the same gender

I was very pleased with the quality of many things in this store and this will be my primary store going forward.The tanks were clean with no sick fish in sight unlike other popular local stores around here. Prices are way better as well.The fish stock were clearly more mature and healthy than other stores.Their salt water tanks are amazingNikita did a fantastic job.

Friendly and helpful staff. The best local fish store. Staff are very knowledgable and will help you plan and learn about setting up a great fish tank. They keep track of what you have bought before so you know what specific species of plants and animals you have. They will also help diagnose and solve your aquarium problems. I cant say enough about how friendly and knowledgeable they are, not to mention the clean and beautiful fish tanks.

This place looks pretty nice, but it seems more like leftovers from their aquarium maintenance company than anything else. Very sparse on equipment unless you are looking for something that has been used for a long time.

It’s a joke. Just left overs or whatever anybody is willing to dump off for them. SUPER condescending employees as well as 6 friggin sail fin tangs in one tank? Bad idea.

I wanted to write and say what a positive experience I had today at your store. I was helped by a young lady (sorry I dont know her name) pick out some African peacocks. She was very knowledgable and patient with me. All fish made it home and into the tank fine.

Drove behind the van with this places name and address all over it. Apparently the driver was displeased with how I drove when behind him because he decided to yell something at me through the windows as I drove passed him. I called the America Aquaria and all they did was say Thanks, have a good weekend. I dont feel like this complaint was taken seriously. They have good reviews so maybe everything else is fine with their customer service and the driver I experienced today only has road rage issues and they dont know what to say to these types of complaints?

This is place is amazing. They are beyond helpful and knowledgable with a great selection. I called them freaking out about my tank concerns and the owner calmly walked me through everything with out me having to come in and buy something. This is truly a hidden gem. The staff is incredible. 10 out of 10 would recommend. I truly appreciate their patience.

Incredibly friendly including Nikita and Steve! Definitely a boon having a brilliant coral guy like him now! I’ll be making sure to come back more often.I’m making an edit: I don’t know why they fired their main coral guy. He was great and now I don’t want to go back anymore. The fish are sick and the corals aren’t looking great either. Bring him back and maybe I’ll come back.The other guy was condescending too when asked questions.

Their website says they manufacture aquariums, that’s further from the truth. It’s a small fish store with some okayish livestock. Don’t advertise something you don’t do

For the size of the store there is a great selection at a great price.. & if ever there isn’t what you’re looking for, the staff are happy to order what you’re interested in.

Talked on the phone with the store 2/28/19 about holding a plant aside for me that they have in stock. After driving over an hour to pick up the plants (3/1/19) I had reserved, I was informed that they sold the plant that I asked to hold. No communication and knowledge at the store, it took them 10 minutes to figure out what a dwarf pennywort is. I would not recommend shopping here, not a good business model.

I love coming here. The guys really care about the fish and are always helpful. I had some ups and downs with my new tank, but thanks to their advice and recommendations I havent lost a single fish. They have the best price on gravel around. Highly recommend!

The store is setup great and very organized. They recently expanded their freshwater plant selection as well. With fair prices and courteous, knowledgeable staff, I feel that Ill be going here more often.

Ive been working with Dustin, Ian and Rick at America Aquaria for about 6 years. They are great people and provide a level of service that you dont usually find. Their prices are great, and theyve repeatedly gone out of their way to help. Whether its livestock, food or tank maintenance, you will not be disappointed.

For almost a year I have been researching aquascaping and was finally given the go-ahead by my wife. Over that time I have visited probably every store carrying aquatic stuff from West Bend to West Allis (and internet stores too). Only until recently I discovered America Aquaria and was surprised at how helpful they were there.Im the type of shopper that doesnt like to be bothered much until I have questions and need help. The moment I walked in, I was acknowledged and told they could help when I needed it. I greatly appreciated how they gave me space to look around to day dream and gather my thoughts.Nikita was very professional, knowing every answer to my questions (and her answers confirmed my research) and she was also personable, easy to ask some dumb/obvious questions I had. She never made me feel like I was wasting her time (even though I had determined that first visit not to buy anything).Because of her knowledge, candor, and because of the really amazing selections and prices I decided to purchase from them. Even after all of my prior research, I was very unsure what I wanted and what would be best to start my aquascape with. Nikita gave suggestions but still respected what I wanted.It was one of the most enjoyable and ideal shopping experiences (i.e. I had fun spending my birthday money), especially in comparison to other stores Ive been to that can treat you as an idiot, or ignore you, or where theres no one knowledgeable about fish, plants, filters, tanks, lights, etc.

Decent selection of fish. Staff was very knowledgeable and eager to help. The Angels I bought are growing out and very healthy. No disease or ick which is more than can be said about the big box fish stores. Pricing was not the cheapest; much higher quality of fish.

Not only do they provide excellent service to their customers, but they truly care about the welfare of the fish long after they leave the store. They’ve spent a ton of time talking me through all kinds of tank and equipment issues I’ve had as a beginner, as well as providing me advice on how to treat fish who are sick. Dustin once even visited our home when we were out of the country to check on our tank for us and wouldn’t even charge us for the house call.Truly a great Milwaukee company and a wonderful aquatics store. I wouldn’t consider working with anyone else.

Ive been looking for a few species for months and for some reason this place I just found ended up having everything I need. Got some ember tetras and silver halfbeaks at an amazing price! Halfbeaks at aquatics unlimited are 20 bucks and the people are kind of rude. At America aquaria they had beaks for 3 bucks a piece. Only issue was that it took a while because of some chatty customers in line before me. A+ otherwise!

Very knowledgeable and helpful! I could tell they were genuinely interested in helping, not just making a sale. We were not previous customers but called on the phone to see if they carried Maracyn Two for one of my daughter’s black skirt tetras with a bad case of dropsy, which usually has a pretty grim prognosis even with aggressive treatment. They recommended an alternative antibiotic that was simple, safe, inexpensive and really worked! The sick tetra made a full recovery and the whole tank has been healthy. We’re so glad that we found America Aquaria. We’ll definitely go there for all our future needs!
