I like to visit the Audubon Society early in the morning when the birds are active and the fields are alive with their songs. The paths through the center are well maintained and easy to walk. The boardwalk over the swamp is creatively designed and a delight to walk. I would also suggest walking north of the nature center on the East Bay Bike Path for about 300 yards and taking the path out to Jacobs Point. The path is narrow and almost overgrown, but you see more birds and feel closer to nature. This is a great place to take kids--but dont be in a hurry because nature is revealed to those who take their time. Also, put on bug spray before you venture down to the swampy areas. When I visited last spring I saw three HUGE snapping turtles.
Very pleasant place to visit - great indoor exhibits of New England wildlife and ocean fauna, and beautiful outdoor gardens. The boardwalk to the bay offered lovely views. Engaging and fun for me and the kids!
Meander through pollinator-friendly meadows, cross the East Bay Bike Path, and follow the boardwalk out to the cove. Beautiful. Bring your binoculars.
I thought it was super cool and pretty it’s a whole lotta flowers and cool stuff
Our family just loves the Audubon Nature Center . There is always something new to do and no matter what season it is they have something interesting going on. My kids love the walk through the woods to the water and the butterfly fields. The crafts are fun and the little area inside with the aquariums and whale model is always a hit with my kids. Some day when my kids are older I will take them on one of their guided bird walks. The owl walk sounds like great fun!
Stroll down the boardwalk at the other side of the bike path for scenic views and birdwatching.
Great place to enjoy nature.
Awesome place to bring the family. The exhibits are very interesting while not being overwhelming. The walking paths are also really nice
Great exhibits and my 2.5 year old had a great time.
