Absolutely beautiful fabric store in Bristol. They carry high-quality, modern quilting cottons (think Cotton and Steel brand, etc) as well as some apparel fabrics, cork, patterns, and notions. The owners are incredibly kind and helpful. We came from over an hour away and it was 100% worth the trip. Cant wait to return.

My family and I had a great time at Beyond the Bolt. Colleen provided excellent guidance in sewing our cork fabric bags. Beyond the Bolt is a well equipped studio space and Colleen’s lively attitude kept us well entertained.

This is an awesome shop. The mother and daughter who own and operate it are super friendly, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They have an excellent selection of quality fabrics and patterns. This is the shop to go to for all your quilting and sewing needs!!

I took a sewing lesson with Kristen and she was very knowledgeable, patient, and gave clear explanations. My project was competed during the lesson, I.e., chair-back covers for 4 counter chairs.

What a fabulous fabric shop and art studio! They carry a lot of modern-style quilting fabric, and they have a great selection of cotton blend fabrics for apparel that you can’t find in other stores. They have a wide variety of books and patterns for quilts, apparel, and bags. The store is clean and bright with lots of natural light. They offer free open-sew hours where you work in their studio, complete with machines and large tables. Three delightful women run the shop. You can see their quilts displayed on the walls. Colleen, one of the owners, is also an excellent teacher and offers adult classes in sewing, quilting, and beading. She also offers private lessons, as well as art classes for middle and high school students. Beyond the Bolt is a must-visit!

Beautiful little shop. Friendly sales staff. Bright, clean place. We were visiting from northern Ma but would definitely stop in again if we are in the area. The fabrics are beautiful.
