Its the prettiest, most well-appointed theater anywhere. The pub is a great place to eat, also. Admission prices are low. It is a labor of love to our community from the Howell family. Its beauty does not prevent it from feeling friendly and warm.

A very nice place that references oldies movies. Nothing really seems to bother me. I Ordered Popcorn MTN Dew then candy. And what do you know the service is great! They listen then Immediately get working. Great place! They do this lucky wheel as well and you win anything. And thats fun!

Wonderful place! The tickets are reasonably priced. The chairs are comfortable. The balcony for 21 and up is wonderful, especially if you love kids movies without all the loud noises from kids. The theater themselves are beautiful and they have really nice bathrooms!

What a gem! We had a rainy day on Kezar Lake, so we headed to Bridgton to see a movie. This place is the way it should be when you see a movie. It has all the character of old theaters, but has modern updates. Theres a bar attached and I guess they use the facilities for many community events. Will make a trip back here next time we are in the area!

Ive been here countless times and its always clean and have never had a bad movie experience. Ive never sat at the restaurant side of things but its always busy and thats usually a good sign of good food.

This theater is about a 25 minute drive for us but we see all our movies here regardless. Its clean, comfortable and has clean restrooms. Concession stand is great, and a pub if you so choose. We also love the balcony seating.

One of my favorite places to visit. Always clean and a beautiful space. The kids love it as well. Always highly recommended!

This theater is beautiful! I am so sorry that I did not take a picture. The food prices are reasonable, especially for a movie theater! We went with kids, but love the idea that there is a balcony for 21 plus.

I stood at the please wait to be seated sign for a couple minutes before I was greeted. There were two other parties in the place but it was largely empty. I sat down and the lady gave me a menu and walked off. She did not ask me if I wanted anything to drink. After sitting down for a couple minutes, without a drink, I put the menu back and walked out. Not very welcoming to new faces. Unless you are from the area, stay away.

Quirky, fun privately owned theater with 3-4 screens open. Pub is also fun and quirky. If you go to an evening showing and sit in the balcony, you can have alcoholic beverages brought to you after you order them from the pub. The movies dont change very often in the off-season, but they get good movies, and always have at least one for kids. Clean and old-time theater surroundings. Very comfortable seats.

Ive only been once--on like a Monday night, but this place is pretty cool! Very affordable. They also have a bar inside the theater. In passing, snacks seemed quite reasonable--though I didnt get a good look at the menu. Check it out!

Its a small theater, but they seem to try to play the three biggest hits of the week. Much more affordable than any other big movie company. Grab a bite to eat in the pub before your movie and you will also be impressed with the food and drinks. Its a great place to go on a rainy day!

Love it here... very affordable and clean and having the pub room where you can relax before or after your movie and have dinner, a snack, or just a drink is awesome. You can bring food into the theater and there is a balcony for over 21 and alcohol is allowed. My favorite theater.

The ONLY theater my family goes to! Beautifully refinished a few years ago. Comfy seats with leg room for us taller folks, balcony seating for 21 and over...and the most reasonable prices anywhere! Super clean theaters where your feet dont stick to the floor...just an added bonus!

The only place I like coming to see movies at. If youre 21+ you can order a beer at the Tannery downstairs and have it delivered to the balcony.

Very good food in the pub, if you like the Red Sox or Patriots you are ok because if they are playing most likely it is on the big screen in the public.Only complaint a lot of times it shows all kids movies. Not all adults have kids in tow. Always should show a least 1 adult movie for the people whose kids are all grown up

You really dont see many theaters with its originally classic feel. The added pub and cheap tickets are great ! Love this theater. Saw The Glass Castle. Also not overly crowded ! Ill be back in the future

Let me start by saying that I would agree with most of the positive statements made by other reviews (e.g., great small theater that gets terrific movies and has a great pub). So why the 1 star review?Well the owner of the Lantern decided to enact a policy where employees of the theater can (at their discretion) search your bag looking for candy and other items for sale at the counter.Look I get that theaters make most of there profit from soda and popcorn but I dont agree with this policy.Recently I took my 12 year old son to the movies. He has type 1 diabetes and I always carry a backpack containing his test kits and glucose tabs. Anyone who has a loved one with diabetes know that these items are a medical necessity. Upon purchasing my tickets the teenager behind the counter demanded that I allow her to search my bag. I politely refused (I dont want anyone messing with my sons medical supplies and frankly it felt invasive). The manager then demanded that I submit to a search. When I asked why they wanted to ensure that I wast smuggling food into the theater (mind you I had actually bought popcorn). So I gave in but not with out feeling like I was no longer in the USA.I also noticed that the teenage search your bag squad didnt seem to be searching the purses of the mothers (I am Dad). My guess is most women would find the notion of having their purse searched to be completely unacceptable (I agree). But it also felt discriminatory.So my advice is to if you have any sort of medical condition that requires you carry supplies and dont want teenagers pawing though it go elsewhere.

Nice theatres, plenty of leg room and comfortable seats. Good popcorn and other treats available, reasonably priced in comparison to other theatres. The pub is ok, nothing gourmet, just average frozen/fried appetizers. Burgers are huge!

This is a great little theater with lots of style. They have tons of decorations and old movie hardware. Balcony seating is the best way to watch a movie. The pub in the theater has great food also. Pricing is not bad.

I always love going here. This is an awesome place to bring the whole family for dinner and movies. If youre over 21 they serve beers on the balcony seats :)

If you want a fun relaxing and old town experience where they have tried to stop time in an elegant way... Magic Lantern is a perfect place!

There are not many places that you can go and watch a movie while enjoying your favorite adult beverage. Magic Lantern has a pub with decent food. One word of caution, order your second round sooner rather than later, the pub closes early.

Best place to go for a movie. Its family friendly and affordable. Weve been going here since 1992. We wont go anywhere else.

Amazing price for the matinee, great olde-worlde charm and comfortable seating. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Would always be our first choice venue if they are showing the movie we want to see - and they usually are!

App. Was pear & pancheta with blue cheese crumble (outstanding) ! Dinner was surf&turf or chicken marsala. Both excellent. Dinner & a movie how can you beat it.
