Overall good experience. We stayed at the mansion side. Beach access was the best part. Pool at the mansion side is smaller but served the purpose. No food or drink service at that pool. Rooms were very nice. Limited breakfast options at the Ocean Terrace restaurant (not sure if covid relates or if that’s always the menu). Fire pits on the lawn with sofas, pizza and drinks were great for casual evening. The Links restaurant at the villa side was good for lunch. The arbor pool there, which is the biggest pool, was lacking. It’s not as nice as it appears in the website photos. The pool is in real need of updating (patio, furniture). There were no lifeguards anywhere- again, not sure if this was covid/staffing related or not.Overall I would say 6.5/7 out of 10. Would stay again 1-2 nights.

We were supposed to stay for 4 nights, but ended up staying for only 2 nights. For the kind of price we paid, we expected a lot more. Pros: - Beautiful view- The beach is nice esp during low tide - Able to social-distance easilyCons:- Our room was very dark, without any natural light despite the fact that it’s not on the second floor. Because of the slope where the building is located, our balcony was below street level and facing two huge trees. We were told no other room was available.- The reception area, our room and hallway are very outdated- Only one sit-down restaurant was available at the Mansions. The food was very much sub-par, lack of choices and overpriced - The swimming pool at the Mansions is a lot smaller than appeared in the pictures on their website. It was crowded during the day. - It was hard to get info on kayaking, which is located at a separate area from the Mansion. We had to hop in the car and drove to the Villages which is located about 3-4 minute drive away. When we finally got to the rental place, the shop was open and had many bikes in it, but we could not find anyone to help us. No one was there! We went back an hour later and it was the same. - All in all, we were hoping to stay in a resort to get the convenience of having everything in one place, but we didn’t get it.

Everything was wonderful on our two night family trip here, except the front desk person was awful. She was super rude, and I almost cancelled my trip on site. Check in was supposed to be 4pm according to hotels.com, when we got there she said it was 5pm but we ended up not getting our room until 6:30 pm. She gave no apology, no communication and was rude. Everyone else was amazing and kind and the food was great!

We visited this resort over the weekend to celebrate my friends bachelorette party!! Their service and staff members are amazing and very welcoming. The place is very beautiful and well maintained!!! We enjoyed indoor pool, hot tub, pub and dinner place too!! They have so much to do onsite... would definitely visit this place again in summer to enjoy more!!

Very disappointing. Front desk told me room would be ready for our 4pm check in - at 5:10pm line was out the door to check in for front desk - we waited in sun for 45 minutes - finally got to front desk and guy was so rude and told me room wasn’t ready and he couldn’t give me an ETA. He was totally obnoxious. I understand COVID is affecting cleaning rooms and overall hotel situation but I have never been treated with such disrespect and rudeness and I’ve been coming to Ocean Edge for 11 years. I would not recommend visiting now - they are completely disorganized and overwhelmed and need to figure out how to handle Covid and their guests.

The common areas of the Mansion rooms are getting a bit worn, but we still keep coming back every year. The food/drink service at the beach makes such a difference! You walk to the beach, attendants direct you to or bring out chairs, umbrellas, and towels, and staff is there to take your food/drink order!

My husband, daughter and I stayed at the Mansion at Ocean Edge for two nights. I had been eager to try this property because I am intrigued by the 3 bedroom villa option for my whole family. I was also curious as to why this location doesn’t quite get rave reviews. To start with, the grounds at Ocean Edge are beautiful and the location is fabulous. There was a line at check in, but it moved relatively quickly and was not an issue. The rooms are both nicely appointed and spotless. (This was GREATLY appreciated during a pandemic.). The beach was beautiful and chair/umbrella service and food/beverage service was a lovely and rare treat on cape cod. One issue with these services was that despite the VERY hardworking staff on the beach, it was horribly understaffed making the working conditions for these poor people horrible. Management needs to change this immediately. It bordered on abusive tbh. The Ocean Terrace Restaurant was lovely in the evening for dinner and both the food and service were wonderful.I overall recommend the Mansion. It may not be the Chatham Bars, but it also doesn’t come close to the expense and it is very nice.

Amazing resort. Only complaint is DO NOT get the breakfast. It was $24 per person for 5 buffet selections. Not much of a buffet. Location is stellar! Right on the warmest ocean Ive encountered. Great bathrooms/tubs in the mansion rooms. Amazing food throughout resort other than breakfast. They really thought of everything for guests from beach chairs to towels! Well be back!

Now THIS is how you do customer service and hospitality. After months of lockdown during the COVID crisis, my fiancée and I snuck off an eloped and came here after our wedding. Since arriving we’ve been blown away by this resort. Everything we’ve wanted was already predicted and taken care of by the staff and we’ve felt like royalty since arriving. The Kennedys vacation on Cape Cod and we truly feel like aristocracy since we’ve arrived. We will definitely be back as soon as possible!

This was the perfect resort for our family. We has two families with a total of 5 children in a 3 bedroom suite. It was perfect for our family. The room was beautiful. There were 3 bedrooms each with their own bath, a full kitchen, and plenty of living space. We were able to easily walk to and from the beach and pools. There was also a shuttle running around the property. Room service had a large variety of options for the kids and the babysitter service the hotel recommended was great. We would go back in a second!

A great sized room and it was very clean. The beach area is quite rocky so not great for paddling in but very pleasant to sit in the deck chairs provided. I was a little disappointed with staff communication. Expedia also shares a blame in this though. Be aware, if you are an Expedia VIP member and you receive and email ‘confirming’ a room upgrade, this may not be the case. I wasn’t upgraded upon arrival and was told it was subject to availability. This would be fine but when I re-read my email sent only a few days prior, it stated the upgrade had been confirmed. I messaged the reservation team to clarify as the email made it seem like a definite (an issue Expedia should address) and felt the initial response was quite curt and offered no apologies for the confusion. The second response was a little more agreeable. I would like to note that one staff member in the restaurant/bar was outstanding. She was friendly and polite.

It would’ve been nice to be told there was an event being held at the hotel. There were about 50+ children in the pool/hot tub (reason I booked this location). No one kept them in check, to include the parents. The hotel charges a resort fee, so to have a resort feature be so poorly managed was disappointing. Additionally, the only bartender paid no attention to my party and I. He actively ignored me while serving the parents of the group that booked the large number of rooms. People ordered twice while I was ignored for 20+ minutes. Lastly, the food for the breakfast buffet was COLD. I ate at 8 a.m. and it was terribly cold to the point of being inedible. I would not recommend this location for the price, especially because the resort features apparently can’t be guaranteed/managed.

The place is pretty nice. Normally not someplace I usually could afford, but we did get a really good online deal, granted, it was the off season. The staff and accommodations were excellent. The concierge was very accommodating when we asked if it was possible to stay another night and she was able too, just not in the same room or rate. The new room was even better than the last and it only cost a few dollars more. It has a fantastic bar and dining area and the rooms and grounds are meticulously kept. They have a very nice pool area and adequate gym that you can attend with a pass and their golf course had just opened, which I wasnt able to participate in, do too not having brought my clubs. I was informed that it is a Nicklaus designed course. If we ever get the chance, my wife and I do plan on going back

Hopefully this review will provide some helpful context for those looking to find a great place to stay on Cape Cod! It was our first extended-stay trip to Cape Cod and we learned a lot about the area, beaches, and this hotel/resort.The Mansion vs. The Villages at Ocean edge - The resort is HUGE. The area closer to beach is the Mansion, or the Mansion side. Only the guests who stay here get access to the private beach. The Village side is ~.5 miles away (and down a busy road). The Village side actually has much bigger (albeit less nice) rooms, and more to do (pools, pond, etc.), but does not have the private beach. The Mansion costs ~2x the villages, so youll have to decide whether being able to walk to a private beach is worth it to you. For us it was.Price - The Mansion is expensive. Youd expect a lot more room for what you pay. But the resort is beautiful and very well maintained. Although it is a little frustrating that they blatantly try to nickle-and-dime you everywhere you go (want to play tennis - thats ~$20/hr). A basic hotdog, $10.The beach - the beach is a 4 minute walk from the Mansion rooms (I timed it several times and took the average). If youre staying in the Presidential Suites, its 1-3 minutes, depending on where they put you. As the beach is one of the main selling points of this place, its important to know the details. First, the beach is not too crowded. Given that is private, it never gets too crowded, which is nice. Second, the beach is located in the bay part of cape cod, which means - the water is super warm (~5 degrees warmer than the swimming pools). That was a nice surprise. It was quite a bit warmer than Hawaiian or Caribbean beaches. Third, the beach is a flats beach, meaning that when its low tide, there is essentially ~1/2 mile of just flat sand that you can walk on. Seriously. Its amazing, and something I had never seen before. This translates to amazing areas for kids to play and splash and wade, but a big bummer for those looking for bigger waves and tides. Forth, they do have fancy beach butlers that setup chairs, towels, and beach umbrellas for you. This is a nice touch, and helps keep you comfortable (and in shade) when on the beach. Lastly, the exquisite sand on the beach is only 30-40 feet long, and then there is a big rocky section, and then more (wet) sand on the flats. If you are looking for big areas of pristine sand, you wont get that here, but there is enough to enjoy. Most of the sand is the wet flats sand. (see pictures for more details). I am very surprised they have not tried to get rid of the huge rocky part of the beach and replace it with better sand. The room - It was nicely updated and had great furniture. But it was small. Much smaller than youd expect to get for paying to stay here. The rooms are probably ~400 sq ft studios. A mini-fridge and thats it.The broader resort - The pools are great and not overcrowded. The landscaping is pristine. Its a beautiful place. They have great camps for kids that teach a wider variety of skills, including archery. The resort is not at all wheelchair (or stroller or luggage) friendly. That was a bit of a sad surprise. There are lots of steps to get up to the mansion building...which makes it a huge pain to just get your luggage to your room. Everyone I met there complained about hauling their luggage to the room (and up the 30+ steps). If you are in a wheelchair, the mansion will not work at all, I dont care what they tell you. The Mansion employees are everywhere. They are very friendly and accommodating, and are from all over the world. They get their summer employees almost entirely from foreign countries. Its fun to talk to them and they are very energetic. But they are also very young, and inexperienced. They come in for a few months and then leave.Food - the food was great. Expensive, but great. The clam chowder was the best weve ever eaten (and weve eaten a lot of clam chowder)

We came here on a whim and were quite impressed by the facilities. This is a classy New England Country Club repositioned as hotel, complete with rolling front lawn (and croquet), circular driveway, tennis courts, pool, private beach front. The staff is composed of a motley crew of attractive young 20 year olds who were seemingly airlifted from the former Soviet republic. There were 3 (!) weddings happening on the recent Saturday evening we stayed; the only real downside was their generous guest parking policy meant that overnight guests might have to park quite a ways from their room and despite their best effort the motley imported help seemed destined to fall short of a moneyed crowd used to first-rate, professional service.

I came up to cape cod for a wedding and stayed in the villages/arbor laneva part of the hotel, which isnt a part of the main campus but a separate side that is next to the golf course. I come from the city and this was the first time in a long time that i was able to see the stars so clearly. The wedding was beautiful and held under a big willow or oak tree on the main campus. the service was IMPECCABLE. I spilt some red wine on my dress and someone immediately brought some seltzer water and recommended local dry cleaners and I had my dress back perfectly clean by the time I left . Brilliant. We rented bikes and rode along the cape cod rail path that was recommended online somewhere. Ask to go towards orleans on the path because you can stop and get ice cream. We went to nauset beach and it was absolutely packed. If you walk down to the right, it gets much better and the water is so nice. HIGHLY recommended. The resort has an excellent reputation so we were willing to pay the relatively expensive price. However, we were very disappointed with our experience. Yes, the buildings and grounds were gorgeous, Our accommodation did look nice - at the first glance. However, slightly close inspections shows many maintenance problems one might find in a motel, but not expect to find in a place that advertises itself as a luxurious resort. For example, the hallway light did not work, the security hinge on the back door fell off when I tried using the back door, the bathroom water dial fell off when we try using it, the internet barely worked, we were told to dial 0 on the room phone whenever we want to connect with the front desk but nobody answers when we tried it. The $18 buffet breakfast option in the main building looks very promising. The dining area is spectacular. However, the serving staff was not helpful - did not even offer the option of order items off the buffet. The buffet itself was terrible. For the money, the buffet only offer very few items -scrambled eggs, sausages links, beacon, hot oatmeal, some fruits, toast/bagels and some muffins. More importantly, the quality of food is equivalent to low quality cafeteria lunches. I expect cheaper but better service/food from local dinners. We are extremely disappointed with our experience at the resort.

We got a good deal to stay at the Villages in May. These are across the street from the main resort,ie,mansion. They are a different facility for all practical purposes. They might as well have been in a Boston suburb.

Front desk was not friendly and did not explain anything about housekeeping or procedures due to coronavirus. Turns out there is no house keeping. You just out trash outside your door. We put towels outside our door and they took them but didn’t bring any fresh ones. The room was nice and had a large tub. Mostly clean except the outdoor patio area was obviously neglected and not swept or cleaned at all, which I had to do myself. We were placed on the bottom floor in east wing and it is very loud from the upstairs unit. Difficult to fall asleep because of the noise. There is little upkeep of the common areas as there were pizza boxes left all over the hallways and trash was overflowing outdoors. The outdoor pool was the only one open and it was good except you have to keep a mask on while laying on the chair even if there is no people around. In the pool it is not required to wear a mask. Hot tub at the outdoor pool was closed. The beach is much better. They were very friendly at the beach area and the people setting up the chairs and serving drinks were nice.

Too many small children. A sort of Club Med with no activities and nothing inclusive. Most staff from poorer East European countries, undertrained, underpaid and overworked. Most spoke little English. The entrance to our building (West Wing) reeked. We didn´t breathe until the second door shut. Small children running /jumping at all hours, babies screaming, people with elephantine footsteps going to the bathroom several times a night! First morning, at 9:03, we found out the laundry van had just left and Friday´s laundry would only come back Monday (after our departure). The receptionists treated me like I was unreasonable for wanting clean clothes. They didn´t say just drop dead you stupid fool!! but their tone did. Unprofessional. They clearly complained about me, as the breakfast room receptionist asked in a snarky tone the next morning whether I had solved my laundry problem, and sat my husband and I at the last free table in the loud baby room. There were several free tables in the two other breakfast rooms. On a positive note: food was excellent in both restaurants. Terrace menu half as expensive at lunch time. Our room: spacious and tastefully decorated. No view. Nice bathroom. Separate dressing room. The beach perfect for little children: up to chest height at high tide. The closest pool for children only. Alternative: golf club pool, or a gloomy indoor pool.
