Lake Manatee has friendly and helpful Park Rangers. The lake is great for fishing, boating or swimming. The shower house always has plenty of hot water and is kept clean and supplied. Convenient to shopping in Bradenton Florida.

Quiet park. Rv spots accommodate 42 foot no problem. As with most state parks 30a and water only. Dump Station on way out for easy access. Food and groceries are about a 10 minute drive

Spent the weekend tent camping. There was a little bit of shade for our campsite, however canopy is not as thick as some of the older State Parks.Camp sites were very big compared to some state parks, which helped offer some privacy. Large lake is great for fishing or kayaking/canoe.Facilities were extremely clean too! Overall a good park to relax. There is a race track down the road on SR-64. You can hear it pretty well, however it seemed more active on Friday night versus Saturday. It didnt bother us as we got used to it.

A wonderful, quiet Florida state park with large, level and private sites. Water & electric at all sites and an easily accessible dump station. Entrance gate is locked at night so if youre arriving late call ahead for the gate code. Theres a boat ramp that gives access to Lake Manatee very close to the campground. A day use site has a pavilion, a playground, grills, picnic tables and a swimming area. There is no lifeguard and there is a sign that says to watch for alligators so swim at your own risk. Lots of pine and live oak trees. Very clean bathrooms and showers but no laundry that I saw. Very nice family campground with paved roads good for biking and some walking trails also.

A favourite weekend camping site for us. Pleasantly wooded, though theres some evidence of recent clearance... still enough to give shade and privacy between sites.Well run, park staff are helpful and friendly, facilities like bathhouses are spotless.

Nice bike trails and friendly staff. Admission is $5 per car or $4 if its just one person. Not much waterfront land and a small park. Mainly caters to RV and camper travellers, large portion of the park is dedicated to those people specifically. You could rent a bike to take along the trails, a kayak to take out on the water, or even bring your own boat to the docks. Very sparse parking for anyone without a camper or boat though.

Very short trails for those on horses but perfect for people wanting to walk their dogs. There is no much shade and the trails are sandy, be careful with the dogs paws on the hot sand. Bring water. You have to pay to use these trails. Bring cash. Put the $ in an envelope and deposit it into the box. For more information go to the website.

I didnt do anything but walk my dogs here. They really seemed to like it. I did see several others out with their dogs here. So if you have dogs its a nice little place to walk them. I personally would just stay away from the water with them. You never know if a gator may show up. I went after 5pm and because there was no ranger I didnt pay. The park closes at sun down. So if you just wanna walk your dog, after 5 is a good time to go. There is an honor box to pay if no ranger is there.

This park has a serious fly problem for some reason. The camp sites were swarming with flies. Spoke with other campers and they reported the same issue. There were a few short walking trails and a boat launch and a beach area with warnings about alligators. Overall this can be a place to sleep of you are doing things in the area. And if you love your bug zapper.

Had a great time. The campsite was plenty big enough, yet offered privacy. The site was level. Good water pressure. Electric voltage was on the low side but still within acceptable limits. Dump station was sloped correctly for easy dumping. Plenty of trails to explore and a nice lake to watch and relax. There is a playground if your camping with children. We didnt use it but it appears as though they have kayak rental available. The state park was very quiet considering almost every site was occupied. Check-in/out was quick and easy. We did not use the bath house so are unable to comment on water pressure, temperature or cleanliness.UPDATE: We have since camped here on multiple occasions where we have experienced the noise from the nearby drag strip. It can be quite loud at times. The noise level varies by the type of vehicle being raced. Most weekends when they were racing, we grew accustomed to the noise and it wasnt an issue. Some may find the noise to beunacceptable though.I have removed one star due to the close proximity of the drag strip.

Very nice, peaceful state park campground. Was there for a couple days during week so did not hear much of anything, especially any race cars. But track is close and heard a couple during the day. But dead silence during the evening. Woke in the early morning to the sounds of an owl near by and birds. Spaces are devided by about 20 feet of shubs and trees so you barely can see your neighbor. Spaces have fire pit with flip up grill and picnic table. Short walk, about 10 minutes to lake and boat dock. Will be back.

Weve been here a few times and enjoy it. The bathhouses are clean and in good shape. They have centrally located recycle bins and places throughout to get bags to pick up your dogs poop. Sites are not on top of each other like at rv resorts. Playground closed due to COVID 19. The firewood is loose and not bundled, a somewhat inconvenient surprise. It is a state park and overall were happy with our experience.

On our first RV trip we visited Lake Manatee, we thought a couple of days would be fine. We stayed for 14 days. The park is clean and well maintained, the rangers are very friendly and helpful. They helped to make our stay easy. The trails are well maintained and wide. We have to 80 lbs dogs and it was heaven for them. The restrooms where clean and the camphost was very friendly and helpful. If you come this way again i highly recommend this park.

Horrible. Bad water, (very low pressure too). Electric is sketchy at best. Lots are well shaded. But when it rains, the sites hold water for a while (not just mine, I checked with others). No sewer on sites, and dump station is well, a dump. Rangers communication sucks. I was working a 2 week job in the area and used it to stay. When I checked in. I asked the Ranger working if it was possible to extend my stay a day or two, if needed. No problem. When needed, NO. Site was available, no other reservations. The other ranger just didnt care. Asked if I could check out a little late. NOPE. Get out by 1:00pm. I know its a state park, but at least hire Rangers that actually care about visitors and not just pissy. (She acted like she loved saying no.) I ended up getting lucky and staying right next to Anna Maria Island. Great way to kick off my last two days.

A fine little state park. There is access to Lake Manatee, either by a small beach area or a good boat launch (boats are limited to 20hp motors). The campground is quite nice, with a total of 60 sites, all with water and electrical hookups (a sanitary dump station is available). The sites are reasonably sized and private. The bathhouses (one bathhouse for each of the two loops in the campground) are quite good. The park is a short drive outside of Bradenton, making it a good base for exploring the citySupport your State and National Parks.

Our biggest problem that we had is all the sites were infested with flies to the point where he would drive you crazy this could have been just due to we were just coming off of a bit of a drought so it could be just a seasonal thing the fishing was not that good it was hard to get the fish to bites there is a fair amount of shade on most of the sites obviously some are better than others the boat ramp was awesome very easy to get boat in and out of if youre camping there they do not charge you a boat launch fee lots of places to ride your bike the playground is more gear to younger children the little Trails leading to the campground into the restrooms were pretty decent also
