As a photographer, Im always looking for new locations to shoot at, so when my clients suggested Boardman Park, I was so excited to explore it! This park did not disappoint- it has a little bit of everything, from historic architecture, to woods, to manicured gardens. I could have spent all day there- highly recommend! Very nice place to hangout and relax and enjoy your day off there. And the light shows for Christmas was beautiful and magical in a way. Overall great place to go! ️

If Boardman Park goes under, Boardman will go with it. One of the most beautiful parks you will visit. Never said no whenever the parents ask if I wanna go for a walk with them in the park. Beautiful to see. Squirrels, deer, flowers, colorful trees, nicely paved paths. Perfect for literally any occassion.

This is a beautiful park with great play areas. Watch out for raccoons at dusk. They are not aggressive but not shy either. My kids and I had a lot of fun watching them. Park staff was very quick to clean up the trash they had knocked over and the grounds are kept up very well. Truly a great place with wooded trails, picnic areas, play areas, tennis courts and disc golf.

My friend had her wedding here, and it was absolutely beautiful! This is a great place for all types of events!

Its a great park, very busy especially in the evening with families eating meals and people walking. I just visited to eat a meal at one of many picnic tables located throughout the park. There are some hiking trails at the back of the park too.

Two excellent playgrounds for kids of different ages. Recommend the walking trails.

This was actually a pretty nice park with some nice trails and everythings well kept. Although they could use some speed limit signs because some people be FLYING lmao.

It was very nice to have a picnic there even though is was a hot day. Picnic tables everywhere and everybody was out and about enjoying the day. Also, pretty much everything was open and not taped off from COVID-19. Its a quick spot to unwind from all the shopping right downtown

Well kept park with fully shaded walking trails. Fun playground equipment for the kids. Safe area for kids to play.

This place is just awesome to sit by yourself, go with your significant other, your kids, or dog. Love it :)

Great park have been going here for years!! That being said we went to take our new puppy to their dog park. To our suprise you need to be a member and have a key code to open the gate. I guess you have to pay for dog parks now......

This park is HUGE. They have softball diamonds, multiple playgrounds for kids, Frisbee golf, pavilions with tables, tables in fields with grills next to them for use. This park has everything anyone would need for a nice day out with the family. Highly recommend.

I’ve been driving past this place for years, and it looks so small from the road! It’s bigger than it looks at first glance, and there are some nice pavilions to sit and eat.

I love this park! I love the trees! The hiking paths are a great way to get into nature! My kids love the playgrounds and the park has amazing events being held all year that my family enjoys!!! Great park over all!

A great safe and free park that has many things for people to do (of all ages). From wooded trails to a little kids playground to a massive castle playground for bigger kids.

Love coming here. Great place for family parties, a simple walk, or a round of disc golf. Only critique is people lounging in the middle of a disc golf hole. Otherwise, love it!

This is a really nice park, only went to the playground with my kids and havent had a chance to see the rest, but it seems really big with lots to do.

Perfect medium sized park. Nice walking trails. and easy to access. The bocce courts are nice too. Plenty of spaces to sit and people watch . There are two dog parks at the entrance off Southern too .

Beautiful place for a nice quiet walk or to take kids to the play grounds (we saw at least 3 different sets of equipment!). The grounds are beautifully landscaped, tons of pavilions, trails, play areas, historical villiage and church, restrooms...and its CLEAN!!!

Boardman Township needs to :A.) Clean up the graffiti which was first brought to the trustees attention 2 years ago.This Gazeebo area is also unsafe. Please see the exposed rusty nails, split wood support columns, rusty swing structure, etc.Unnecessary risk to both the safety of our community and fiscal liability in the event of a likely lawsuit from an injury.The Mahoning County Engineers office needs to enforce the removal / repair of the unstable structure(s);B.) Redesign the ultimate frisbee course.Even the most hardcore Ultimate Frisbee players agree; move the course deeper in to the woods.We are seriously surprised (and grateful) nobody has gotten hurt.When we stroll our young children through the park, we are always concerned that a stray 175g frisbee might impale one of our young ones.We love our park.Thank you for your time and consideration.

A great place to chill

An oasis in the middle of Boardman. Took my lunch there to enjoy some fresh air. Lots of little places to stop and look around...always clean and safe.

Despite thunder storms it still was great to visit. If you look very close in the sky photo you can see a rainbow.

Very nice park to take the kids to play on all the playground equipment or go on the walking trail. It is always kept very clean and well maintained and we are lucky to have it ack dab in the middle of Boardman. You can even rent out spaces for birthday parties or other events and the pricing holds alot of value!

Ive been here twice now, once in October for the hayride & last week for the light display. Both were ok experiences. The lights were free & the park is small so it didnt wow my daughter, but at the same time it was really nice that they offer this for free. The hayride was super crowded 2 nights in a row, in the cold, but there were food trucks & a play area set up for the kids to help them pass time while waiting. Over all Im glad to have joined for both events. Thank you.

Very kid friendly and we always rent the buildings for our Christmas party.They are clean warm and modern.

Was disappointed that I couldnt just walk in to the dog park with my dog. The dog park requires a registration/membership of some sort. It didnt feel very welcoming. Ive been to so many dog parks around the state with more amenities and space and this one hardly seemed worth it to support.

I reserved a room for my baby shower and got there and all doors were locked and office was closed. We had to go serching around the park for someone to come open up the place ..we lost time to set up and decorate before guest showed up..but other then that it was very nice nice and clean and perfect..would definitely book there again !

Was there for a wedding. Accommodations were nice. The overall appearance was a bit dated.

Our family gives the 1 star review not because we feel negatively about the park, rather we truly believe that Boardman is a Nice Place to Call Home- and our only intention for this post is to preserve & protect our local park.We originally reached out this past November (2017) to Ms. Roseanne at Boardman Park and CCd Mr. Brad Calhoun. Mr. Calhoun forward the information and images to the Executive Director of the Park and two of the Board of Park Commissioners.As we originally brought to their attention and as reflected in the attached photos, the graffiti references drug & alcohol use.There are Drug & Tobacco paraphernalia in plain sight near the fireplace and what appears to be some form of broken glass pipe.There is even a metal rod extruding from the wall which could easily pierce someone causing serious harm.The roof is in serious disrepair and the unoccupied structure has electricity.One tag references 2007- suggesting that many of this graffiti may have been here for over ten years.There is a downed electrical line and even a dangerous old steel swing set in disrepair.There is no excuse for this, plain and simple.The obvious and ignored safety hazards are not the only concern.This wrecklessy maintained picnic area not only invites unsupervised minors to journey through while walking the parks trails; more so it encourages unmonitored criminal activity.This is OUR park. What is OUR excuse?OUR school district is asking for a levy to be passed to continue the tradition of excellence. Mr. Lazzari was my elementary principle and an amazing person and I hope this makes his attention.Increasing the budget isnt the sole answer- this is where our kids play and are influenced the few hours they arent playing Grand Theft Auto Online.Lets make this right, cleaning up this mess should be common sense!We took the new photos as of April, 2018.Truly disheartened and disappointed to see that nothing was done in nearly half a year.

The hayride was so exciting and baby friendly. We loved it. Cant wait until next year!

Fun place to go. A good police presence to provide a sense of safety. Plenty of pavilions and places to rent out. Two kids playgrounds, one for small kids and one for school age kids. Vending machines present. The christmas lights are always nice to drive through and see, too. Theres also 2 areas set aside as dog parks. Always fun activities going on here.

The music at Boardman Park is always enjoyable and last nights fireworks the most spectacular Ive ever seen and Im in my 70s! Its also a great place to go walking or have a picnic.I visit Ohio at least once a year and always go to Boardman Park.

A really nice place to go for walks. The park is much larger than others may think. There are some really nice trails towards the back lot that are great for a small hike.If you play Pokémon Go than you’ll get your fill here. Tons of stops and gyms. There are usually tons of raids here due to the amount of gyms.The playground (from what I remember from when I was a kid) is phenomenal. It’s not every day you see a park with a playground that isn’t made of a bunch of plastic. The playground is huge as well as far as they go I think. I know that when I was a kid I always loved coming to that playground. There’s also a second smaller playground for much younger kids. This was not here when I was a kid so I have no opinions on it.The buildings that you can rent here are well built and maintained. I haven’t rented them myself but have been in almost all of them for graduation parties. The pavilions are rentable too and are in good shape as well.The dog park is nice but requires a yearly registration fee. I believe that is because they don’t want just any person to bring in their dogs as they can be aggressive. This also backfires however due to people with aggressive dogs still being able to pay for the membership. Honestly this is a huge bummer. If you know your dog doesn’t like other dogs or leashes then please don’t ever take them to a dog park where those are typically common. A thorough checkup on dogs and their owners should be put in place so this doesn’t happen. If someone brings an aggressive dog than they should be reported and looked into. Having cameras in the dog park would help get rid of problem dogs should they appear. I know it sucks not being able to take your dog to the park if it’s aggressive, but you shouldn’t ever put other dogs or their owners at risk. The dog park is also split into two sections: one for small dogs and one for big dogs. The size of both are great for the relative size of the dog.All around this is a wonderful Park. The summertime usually sees quite a few people coming and going (especially for Pokémon Go). There are tons of events that go on here as well that are usually extremely well put together. This park is definitely a great place to visit.
