Always comes here when I want to play some Japanese games from back in the day this place is amazing!

Wonderful place.. I had amazing fun here with my co-workers. We had pizza and chicken (which was delicious). I had fun bowling ( it was my first time and I won).The arcade was really fun too. I think the games are a little pricey tho.Great place and Im going back there soon

Horrible experience. Rude service, unfriendly staff, non-accommodating management. We visited the evening of 8/30/2020. We were unsure how strict their social distancing policies were, so we called to find out. They confirmed that they would only allow a certain amount of people in their establishment, in certain areas, and that they were very strict with enforcing masks and social distancing overall. Unfortunately, after we got there, we realized they were understaffed and the employees that “helped” us were all extremely rude. About 20 mins after we started our game of bowling, they put another party next to our lane - and the entire bowling area suddenly got crowded. We went to talk to management to see if they could move our family or give us a refund. The extremely rude manager said that there was nothing he could do and REFUSED to give any type of credit, refund, or move our family to a less crowded area. We had no choice but to leave after paying well over $55 for our family of four and only got to play one game. Will not visit again, as we take our family’s health very seriously.

Workers are amazing and its a nice place for a local arcade but sadly the mall is shutting down and so is this place

Great concept unfortunately the Bloomingdale location was bellow average. The bowling alley was not clean, the fountain drink machine was out of order and the second one was not working properly. The nachos were prepared poorly and the staff had no motivation to Go about and beyond. The pool table area was clean and well kept but the bowling alley including the bowling ball, the tables were dirty and greasy.

This is definitely one of the better stores. Most of the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the mechanics do their best to keep the games up and functioning

They wont turn Project Diva on and openly let people make fun of people that play that game on their FB page, while still having that game at their arcade. Not a welcoming place for rhythm gamers outside the Bemani circle.

Business is booming in this part of the mall.Prices for bowling and karaoke are listed based on time of the week, but are priced within reason. Security by the entrance to keep things on the level, since this place is also a bar. 99 cents for a scoop of ice cream has got to be the cheapest in the mall, and they give you a lot for what you pay for. Though they were busy on a Saturday evening, staff was prompt and courteous, they definitely care about doing a good job.A few things keeping this from five stars: the karaoke microphones were a bit sticky, they could use a wipe-down. General upkeep of the furniture could be improved. The outside parking lot is poorly lit and could be dangerous to navigate at night. Overall, I enjoyed my time and would definitely come back soon.

Today 9-6 2020 my family and I went to round 1 bowling to play bowling and we buy the 90 minutes package and after 30 minutes of playing our lane fail so we call for service and after 10 minutes we decided to ask for another lane or close our 90 minutes contract with a discount credit because they were unable to fix it. By the times we were asking what whats fair for both (business and customer) 20 minutes pass and the manager show up saying that no refunds or discount if customers leave early of the contract time. But we was leaving because malfunctioning equipment and it took about 21 minutes to fix our lane. To make it worse they never offer us the time that we lose.

Love this place!!! The staff are super nice! The claw machines are fantastic, theyre a game of skill rather than luck, you just have to hit the plush in the right spot. There is something for everyone of all ages! There are an abundance of kid friendly arcade games as well as japan-exclusive games for hardcore gamers. The bowling is also great! I live almost an hour away but I make the trip out every so often and I never regret it.

Ive always loved the classic Japanese arcade experience, and thats exactly what this is. From bowling to karaoke, with a really cheap bar, hours that are excellent, and tons of photo booths, music games that are well maintained, UFO catchers, and everything else, this place is a joy to spend time at.

This round one is always clean and well kept. My gf and I went to the Round1 in [fox valley] mall, the other day, and it was very disappointing. We went to Stratford Square Mall Round1 and it was way better! [The fox valley Round1 did check our temperature at the door and did have a bottle of hand sanitizer but the whole place was just dirty and unkept. They of course had some games shut down for social distancing but the machines that were available were either broken or the machines, like the claw machines we go for were not cleaned or even had prizes set up. When we talked to the manager he essentially said “sorry, there is nothing I can do about it“]. The Stratford Round1 was clean and had multiple hand sanitizer bottles throughout. All of the employees were helpful and were wearing masks, unlike the [fox valley location where they only put their masks on when they had to interact with guests]. The Stratford location is just far better in every aspect. They are nicer, more polite, cleaner, more attentive and very obviously happier to be at work. I didn’t get any names but the three or four employees I interacted with were all amazing. I would recommend the Stratford location any day.

Jacqueline should have been more specific about the game and its charges. It looked as though she was doing some kind of favor by serving us. This is very pathetic and unpleasant. She wasnt interested to help us out in the first place. She didnt even tell us where to grab the shoes from. I have come here a lot but this visits experience was not very welcoming and I would never come here again. Authorities, plz make sure she reads this review.

I took my little niece and nephew here to play games around 11am on Sunday. We bowled after. It was not crowded at that time and with the kids club card they bowl for free and their shoes were half off. It only cost me 14 dollars for all 3 of us to bowl a game.

I never go to arcades, but when i do, I always... ALWAYS play the claw machines. they actually had a really good mix of collectibles and cute plush toys to win.Unlike other claw machines where it would just be a pile of toys and a hook that reaches down, this one actually requires thought and planning. This is why i like this particular arcades claw machines - and its the same for other Round1 locations, too. The one in Los Angeles does this as well.The claw machines at the back are a little more special. These ones are boxed collectibles, and when I won some and did a price search, its actually really worth it if you know what youre doing. Just buying the toy is no fun, and the experience from winning and having some people watch just makes it far more valuable.Oh, dollar ice-cream scoops. a must-get!

I drove 42 minutes to get to round 1 and I left in 20 minutes. There games don’t work it eats your money. I had such a horrible time there I am never going there again. Fox valley mall is such a better place to spend a great time at round 1.

We had fun bowling but the customer service here is a hit or miss. It can get very loud and warm inside when it’s busy. They have a variety of arcade games that the kids will enjoy. It’s definitely not your scene if you have issues with loud noises and flashy lights but a great atmosphere if you want a fun outing with your kids.

Great service. Its messy not because of workers, they have so many games its awesome! I personally love shooter games so the unlimited for one hour($10) was perfect! (swipe every 60 sec/1min). Food is reasonable, its an arcade ~ full of food for munchiesThe staff are very very attentive and friendly! Loved going with friends and its so much fun when you burn them in racing games~Definitely a place to visit :) and to have fun! I highly recommend this place ^_^

I will fully admit I come here because they have legit UFO catcher machines, which is a rarity around Chicago. We all have our vices: for some people, it’s booze or cigarettes. But for me, it’s these claw machines. (Yes, it was just as sad to type that as it was to write it, but I stand by the statement).Highly recommend budgeting yourself though, as this place can add up quickly regardless of what games you’re playing. If you’re big into ticket machines, there are quite a few which are well maintained but I generally limit myself to spending between $15 to $30 per trip. Claw strength can be weaker on the bigger machines so you get what you pay for with those.I’ve been here before with some friends who play their rhythm games, especially the Taiko drum. They seemed to like them quite a bit, though the sound can be deafeningly loud near the DDR area. If you’re bringing kids for a party, bowling would probably be a safer bet if you don’t want to spend too much money or have a larger group. They’d love the $.99 gigantic ice cream cones though. :P

About the same prices as anywhere else but the only game we found that was much fun was the drum game.

Son had birthday there. Bowled for $12 each and bought unlimited shooting games card for $14 each . great deal...it lasted 90 minutes . they didnt finish their time when they were exhausted from running around having fun

Great, Japanese style arcade. Awesome Karaoke with a great selection of fighting games, racing games, claw machines, rhythm games, and photo booths. A reasonably priced bar with standard snacks. Great for kids and adults alike.

Ill miss this place when it is gone. R.I.P. Round1.

This place is a Mecca for JP gamers! The banasport system and similar card machines are located here for global ranking and play. The facility houses about 1 gen behind Japanese current games. 2 for Tokyo standard. The price is decent but survey first before you buy play time. Missing one star due to service and staff lacking motivation ( they seem to be tired every time I’m there) .

Love to come here and play Pump It Up. They have an unlimited card for just that game. Never done the bowling or had the food.

This is a wonderful arcade full of Japanese import arcade games from fighting games, to 4 connected Initial D Arcade Stage 8 racing games. They have a large selection of Japanese crane games. The crane games offer a wide selection of winnable prizes such as figurines and large plush toys of popular Japanese mascots and icons. I havent experienced billiards or bowling there but I assume its just as great of an experience. The only downside is the price, and Id highly recommend anyone who wants to come here more than once to get a club card.

Horrible experience on NYE 2020 with the employee and manager Justin. I had my family in from out of town and we decided to choose this location for NYE which was a horrible mistake. WORST customer service I have to deal with in years!! Especially being a service member its ashame to see how fellow Americans treat each other which is just supposed to be decent. human beings.

In a crappy mall, and has 2010 Drum Master (disappointed). I was hoping it would be the newer Drum Master with all the idolmaster songs but it wasnt. That was the main reason for me going and they didnt have it. They had a lot of other rhythm games and those were cool as well as Luigis Mansion and other games in that genera that were fun. Of the 2 in Illinois, Ive heard this is the better one but I couldnt tell you for sure. The staff was nice though.

Theres something for everyone here. Purikura, crane games, arcade redemption games, and great sections of import arcade games, Japanese single seat games and arcade fighters, music games, bowling, karaoke, and a bar with decent, cheap drinks. Did I mention its all rather well maintained? And where there are problems, the staff is quick to correct them and offer appropriate compensation.While this isnt the worlds best arcade, youre not going to find much better in the area if youre looking for a modern arcade. Plus, theres a lot to do if youre bringing a big group and not everyone is into video games. I definitely recommend this place!

I had a blast there last weekend! The claw machines were so fun!!! They have UFO catchers here from Japan and there’s a bunch of claw games I’ve never seen at any arcade or any of the other Round 1s. The staff was great and friendly and there’s finally a manager on the game floor that knows what’s he’s doing!!! If you ever have any questions about the games or claw machines he’s always willing to answer with a smile! (I think he said his name was Jasper? Or something with a J, he’s pretty darn cute too ) Easily the best experience I’ve had at a Round 1/arcade I would highly highly recommend coming here. My girlfriends and I will absolutely be back this weekend!

Fun place. Ive been here a couple of times with my daughters troop and we had a blast. Bowling, arcade games, darts/pool, karaoke, and unlimited food with a package. The cost is well worth all that you get.

Went late. Was one of maybe a dozen other patrons. The place is cool! A real-life arcade and bowling alley. Felt like I was at an indoor carnival. Lots of bright lights and activities everywhere. Id never been before but will definitely return again soon!

It was ok, sold us an hour game pass for unlimited play but they didnt mention it was only for a few of the games. Like 10 out of the 30+ games they had.

Only 2 stars because of their party packages. They have all inclusive parties advertised as ALL you can eat food drinks & games however the fine print which isnt advertised shows restrictions and limitations on what types of games are available. Even though it advertises over 250 games they wont all be available only blue and green games not rainbow colors. You also have to bring your own plates and utensils. If its a kid party the all inclusive is ONLY limited to the kids...Each accompanying adult/guest must pay to EAT the all you can eat food-I understand adults paying for games but they shouldnt have to pay for food its an all inclusive party-which should include party guests. Also, in the all you can eat food they only start you off with 2 trays of pizza and wings, they wont bring out anymore food trays until those are empty and so forth, so even the ALL you can eat is limited and you CANNOT take any left over food with you. It must remain so they can throw it away

Its really fun being there, although going there with a big group is a must. Going alone is okay too, but it could get lonely quickly though you still get entertained by all the colorful lights and arcade theme sounds surrounding you.

I have been to the Round 1s in Japan and this comes pretty close to that experience with one exception. Arcade games and the like are extremely popular in Japan and not so much in the USA, that being said, the staff in Japan is extremely lively and they are always willing to help out and seem genuinely excited to be here. I am not sure if it was a bad/slow day for this location, but the staff was not engaging at times and we had to search for someone for drinks. Everything else is pretty awesome, clean facility, awesome bowling lanes and semi-decent billiard tables.

The games and bowling were good. The karaoke room i was in was really hot and i guess the thermostat was broken at 85 degrees(then add 9 people in the room..it got REALLY hot)...but i would HIGHLY recommend they put more staff on especially for the weekends. There was 1 person handling the bar and food, 1 person on the other side just standing there and i guess there was a manager in one of the back rooms talking to 1 other employee for over an hour..kinda ridiculous to wait over 20 minutes just for a cup for pop, over 30 minutes for a scoop of ice cream, and 15 minutes for a beer. The staff was friendly but the place definitely needed more people working there.Overall the place was great, they just needed to be better staffed.

Ok place do not go here if you are a bowler. The TVs are like 90 inch and they are at the end of the alley. All you can see is the reflection on the lane. Missed my marks all night. No fun. Also they could not get the lanes set up right I guess 7 bowlers on two lanes was to hard. Could not alternate lanes either. And super expensive three people two games $40 with out shoe rental. Most likely will not be going back.

Great place to hang out. They have bowling, an arcade, ping pong, darts, pool and karaoke. Food wise you can order standard American food (pizza, nachos,etc.) or if its early enough you can eat at the mall (Chinese, great steak, subway, etc). Drink wise they have the coca cola favor machines and a bar. Prices are reasonable and they are open till 2am daily.

I really enjoyed there updated games. But I found that a few were a bit stuck or broken. Lost alot of plays because I kept having to get the machine fixed

Called ahead of time, the customer service on the line explained the food bar was open till 12 am, we got here an hour before and they said they were closed. The lane also kept malfunctioning and we were on a timed game. They gave us a new lane with more time but the service was horrible and so stalled. Not coming here again.

Very enjoyable place. Sometimes the wait lines for bowling could be an hour or 2. But they have very nice beer prices to make the wait feel a little shorter. Haha

Just finished having my daughter 16th birthday here. Great location lots to do and very good food. The service was a little hit-or-miss. Overall they did pretty well. My one complaint was with Candice who refused to give an ice cream five minutes after the expiration time. I had also been standing in line waiting to order the ice cream. While I understand that the contract says that theres a deadline, there should be a little leeway and customer service instead of feeling like the staff is the food police. She definitely put a sour exclamation point at the end of a fun party. Staff training should be addressed

Came here for karaoke, the smaller room wasnt hooked up correctly and nobody threw knew how to fix it, they moved us to a bigger room right next to another big room, but there was only a temporary wall dividing the two so we couldnt even hear each other speak over their singing. What idiot designed that layout?

You can do karaoke, bowling, billiards in here. Theres also a lot of arcade games. Fun for people of all ages. Just note that minors cannot stay after 10 without adult supervision. They also served snacks and drinks and sometimes have promo available.

Wow, literally the worst bolling experience Ive ever had in my life. We were charged 21$ for 90 minutes, to only be told we couldnt stay for said 90 minutes because someone in the party was under the age of 21. After having to deal with a refund from this girl, we started bowling. The fan on our lane didnt work and after 5 frames I had asked if they could fix it. They then change our lanes for us, then a minute later ask if were 21. After saying one person wasnt, we were informed we were not going to be able to play the second game we had paid for. They offer yet another refund for us, when at that point we just wanted to bowl. They ended up allowing us to finish our second game, but only after being threatened or we can kick you out in 20 minutes from some prissy looking security guard. After all of the harrassment we had received, we were rewarded for having to wait 5 days for our money, and a mediocre bolling experience. My avid bolling friends and I will not be returning.

The worst arcade I’ve been to, machines stop working while in game, lack of variety, and apparently you can’t use a round one card from a different location (how does this make sense??). Card also got stolen while I was in game...

This is just a review on the arcade as we didnt use the bowling or buy anything else. The arcade is overpriced and the ticket redemption is a joke. You need so many tickets to get even small prizes and the games give out very few. Especially with a younger kid, its much better to go to a place like Chuck e cheese where you can play a ton of games for cheap and still walk out with a decent prize. Even enchanted castle is an arcade for older kids and still isnt so overpriced. Literally any other arcade in the area is better.

It is incredibly fun to bowl, drink, sing and play games here! Even the huge Japanse photo booths are great! You can customize your photos and although theyre only wallet size when they print, its still awesome because you can take a whole body shot! The drinks at the bar are great as well and its very convenient to buy the jar of beer if youre bowling with a group of friends. Awesome place to be and they close at 2am!

I love this place so much, and they always have some good deals through the weeks. They have so much to do here as well karaoke, darts, billiards, bowling and a fun arcade.

Was my friends birthday, after a long day of working we all decided to go bowling and end the night in a fun way. We are all over 18. This is the first night we have seen there was a security guard checking IDs. Ok, great that’s good to keep the young ones out when it’s late, completely understandable. Our friend, the birthday fella, didn’t have his ID on him but had a picture. They couldn’t take a picture as enough “proof”. He looks the oldest out of all of us! Very upsetting to have one little thing ruin our night. Wont be returning.

Darts, games n drinking are fun, but the bowling lanes are poorly maintained.

Been to this one a few times before and always had fun. Prizes were fair to win and made you feel as if you got your money’s worth. I Do pretty darn good with these games .. but We spent $100 and won ONE. The games were NOT RESET, the claws were EXTREMELY pressure sensitive. So even just TOUCHING the prize it stopped itself. So you couldn’t push it down AT ALL. The rest of the games were set up poorly to a point it was impossible to win anything as they were set so far back. Never going back here again.

Better to go at night its open until 3 am but they finish serving dinner drinks before 12

Haven,t been to the fox valley location but I can say hands down best arcade in Illinois. All the games are either classic or new and are in amazing condition. Bowling was also great but I cant speak for dining since Ive never eat there. 5 stars

Great place for family fun and great food! Only problem we had was the cost to bowl was extremely expensive compared to other bowling alleys. Can’t wait to try karaoke next!
