I love it! Everytime I visit Birmingham, I head there to capture an amazing view if the city! They also have an elevator that gets you to a lookout point that has a see through (glass) back and its nice to see the city from there! I enjoy heading to the lookout point and snapping manny pictures of the beautiful Birmingham! Also, they have a small museum about the history of the iron and steel industry in Alabama and why this beautiful statue -the Vulcan- is a symbol of the iron industry in Birmingham.
Coolest thing Ive seen in a while. Very informative and enlightening on how rich Birminghams history really is.
Ther Vulcan was great. The museum is very informative. Its self guided, which is nice. The information seemed mostly impartial too. The view is amazing! The weather was perfect when we visited. I could imagine winter not being the most optimal time of year however. Early summer was perfect. There is an elevator for those unable to take the stairs. The viewing deck is a metal grate looking material for those afraid of heights. Be warned. Overall this was a great historical site visit.
Great fun, good place for the kids to stretch their legs. Very family friendly.
Amazing is what I can say. You should come visit. I got chills running through my body after reading the history of Birmingham through the eyes those who have lived here.
Great venue, especially with Sharon Bell helping!
Great looking statue, very nice people and a pretty well done brief history of Birmingham. Stunning view of the city too.
You can spend about 1 to 2 hours in this place. There is a little museum and then 56 feet statue. Mainly says about history of Birmingham and its iron ore business.city view is good.
Nice park, pretty view of the city. The small museum is very interesting delving in to the history of Birmingham via the iron industry.
Very interesting tour. A small fee to go up in the tower; well worth it. Great views from the top. Nicely done displays and stories about iron working in Birmingham. Worth a stop if youre in the area.
Small museum about the Vulcan statue and the development of Birmingham, with rotating exhibits and a spectacular view of the city and surrounding area. It costs $6 for adults and less for children; tickets purchased during her day are also good at night. A nice little museum store sells great gifts.Sometimes it closes for special events. Lots of parking and its handicapped accessible, too.
It was cold when we were there but there is a really cool museum and a fantastic view.
Very good place to go for photos or on a school field trip. My experience wasnt the best because it was a very hot day, and because the younger kids of my family did not enjoy it very much. I found a funny sign in the elevator tho
Awesome view from the top of The Vulcan it was my second time in Birmingham and I enjoyed to go there, there is a museum where they show how The Vulcan was made and how the fix it, pretty kid friendly.
What an amazing landmark! Full of history, such a cool sculpture, and you get to take an elevator up to the top to get a great view of the city. You can also walk up the stairs and get a great leg workout instead. If youre into mythology, sculpture, and beautiful years, this is a go to place.
Very beautiful over look of Birmingham and surrounding areas
You cant visit Birmingham and not see the Vulcan. Great view of the city. Largest cast iron statue in the world (I have been led to believe ;-)You can park your car and wander the park itself for free. This includes views of the city and the statue from ground level. There is a small charge for the museum and for going to the top of the pedestal that the statue rests on.
Largest iron statue! Great views of Birmingham and a great way to learn about the cities history.
Great place to get a fantastic view of the city. Decent little bit of the cities history at the Vulcan center as well. Worth a visit.
Amazing. Great museum and the best view of Birmingham from the lookout
Its clean. Full of history and a beautiful view.
Too of the Vulcan ... take the stairs for a great workout!
Great little museum about the Vulcan, how he got there and the iron industry history of Birmingham. It was very interesting. The view from the platform was amazing but not for those who dont like heights or get vertigo easily.
Great place to take the family. Stunning view of downtown Birmingham. Museum recounts Birminghams industrial origins.
This was a simply awesome experience! We thoroughly enjoyed traveling here and enjoying all that this area had to offer. We spent a lot of time on the road and the rural views of hills and (mountains) were majestic. You should visit!
Fun Historical place to visit in Birmingham. The grounds are well kept and the view is amazing. Highly recommended.
Well kept reasonably priced museum. Beautiful grounds with winter blooming vegetation
My wife and I have always hit Surin West on date nights. And we hadnt had one in a while. Service: flawless. Food: perfect flavor and just the right size. Excellent value for the price. Highly recommended.
Vulcan was beautiful today! There was great parking, a park for the kids to play Frisbee, football, race and tag. The museum was small, but Was packed with a plethora of information, interesting installations, and many different exhibits on an array of historical topics. The museum really did a great job of covering Subjects that run the gamut from Science to geography to Architecture To geology to Civil rights history and more!! I was very impressed. Also, you get a great view of the city from every direction when you climb to the top of Vulcan, however, there is also an elevator if you dont feel like getting your exercise in for the day.
Beautiful Friday afternoon, the weather was perfect the park is looking well groomed. Today was my first time to tour the museum and it was a lesson that I wont forget. Birminghams history has made it the Magic City it is today.
Be ready to see Birmingham from the Vulcan. Use the steps or the elevator. Walking up and down the stairs was fun
Great view. Historic treasure.
Always love this park! Havent been in years, since we were displaced after Katrina. Loved the park and scenic views. And it is easily accessible with mobility issues.
Very cool place!
I would highly recommend this place very nice place
Beautiful views and a neat museum. Definitely the tourist must do in this cool city.
Not too exciting! I wasnt impressed.
Nice Views!
The museum gives a very interesting educational tour of the Alabama iron industry! Nice, inexpensive tour for $6. Great day date with my husband!
Was okay, nice little museum. For the most part a self guided tour.
Went to the top. Amazing views of Birmingham. Recommend this to everyone.
Different experience its nice if u like that kind of stuff
Fantastic! Would encourage anyone in Birmingham Alabama or visiting to go see. The view of Birmingham from it was stunning.
Unfortunately the museum was closed, so a one star because there were interesting facts on the boards outside...
Vulcan park and museum is the best spot to see the whole city of Birmingham from above. The museum has interesting facts about the city and the park is a nice trail. Family friendly and handicap accessible.
Pretty Kool place great views
Friendly staff, well kept, and always improving!!!
Great History stop!! Come on, get your steps in.Museum Information and some history, yes you can climb the statue.
Beautiful views
Kind of essential if you’re visiting Birmingham for the first time.

It has an amazing view of the city and the historical impact it had on the city.
Great icon for the city
Always love seeing the worlds largest cast iron butt
Much more interesting and cool than I expected. Very pretty grassy areas for hanging out. Great veiw of the city. Close to Homewood for lunch
Enjoyed going up the elevator then getting to walk around the base of Vulcan. Looking out over Birmingham was awesome.
The park and museum were great, but if you have any kind of issue with heights, like me, you should avoid the glass elevator to the slotted steel observation deck.
Loved it had a good time with my girlfriend
Did not know what to expect going to this park but it was far more interesting than I anticipated. Has one of the very best views you possibly could get of Birmingham
Enjoyed the historical info provided by the guide.
I enjoyed the trail from Vulcan. The statue was cool to visit too.
Great views, ample parking. good museum, gift shop, refreshment stand
Awesome experience, it is so neat learning about Birminghams history
Interesting and amazing... Birminghams own Statue of Liberty.. Truly an Iron Giant.
It was a cool experience to check out
Long long wait. Long wait for service long wait for food. Overall the food was great but pretty pricey for the money. About a 2.5 hour ordeal
I loved it.I know I write a response own it, But Just couldnt resist writing another response.
Ok, so I really wanted to give the attraction itself a five, and the museum a three. BTW There is nothing wrong with the museum!! Its great!! Very new, clean, friendly staff, etc. However, the museum could be MUCH bigger. I loved the first part, with the stories of miners and the mock-up of the company store. This set my expectations pretty high, but then the rest of the museum kinda... Fizzles? There is some stuff about the St. Louis Exhibition (for which the Vulcan was made) that could have been greatly expanded on, and then the exhibit sort of abruptly stopped after the civil Rights movement. I guess nothing happened in Birmingham after 1965? (Jokes). I would like to see the park add on to the museum. Add more of the immersive historical stuff, and tell visitors what Birmingham was like in the 70s, 80s, 90s, etc. I know the space is limited, but it would be really cool to see.
