Great seeing elf on the big screen again. The popcorn was perfect without adding any butter!
I love this theater! The staff is always courteous, kind and attentive. The popcorn is fresh and hot, and the seats are comfortable, with drink holders on the armrests. The one and ONLY thing that keeps me from giving them 5 stars is that about every 3rd visit, the sound is so loud, it is like being right in front of the large speaker at a 60s rock concert. Usually I just stuff tissue in my ears and suffer.Today it was so loud that by the time the previews were over, my whole body had been vibrating for 30 minutes, and I had a throbbing headache. When the movie started, it was so loud I couldnt understand the words, because the volume made them so distorted. I had to leave without seeing the movie. Just couldnt stand it any longer.I would think that in 2020 any theater would have a volume indicator in each venue. I guess theater 6 didnt.
VERY accommodating!Staff keeps their masks and gloves on, they sanitize the theaters, and they use contact less ticketing. There are lower crowds which makes it relaxing!
Safe and social distance is enforced
Really nice theater! Perfect temperature. Large comfortable seats. Loved the concession stand and service there.
For a theater that receives as much business as this one, youd think theyd catch up with the times and upgrade their theaters. This theater is SO UNCOMFORTABLE compared to what other places are offering. Imagine cramming HUNDREDS of people into a theater to tightly that no one can get up to go to the restroom without disturbing everyone. The seats are very, very close together and small, leaving to room to even cross your legs. Overall, I hope I never have to meet friends here again. Not until they catch up with the rest of the theater business.
It was...well...clean, but a minimal staff. Standard over-expensive popcorn & soda but better dispenser machine and decently fast service. What was odd was: There were maybe 20 people watching the movie and they all sat in oddly close proximity to us in the middle. There was some odd flicker problem with the lights and they played the commercials WAY too long. It was a 7pm movie but didnt start until 7:25 because of all the previews (they were a little old). The bathrooms were clean as was our theater. All in all it wasnt a bad experience. I just expected more from a theater on that side of town (supposed to be a bit more of the upper class area of town). The seats seem to be quite generic compared to the ones in the AMC promo video as well. And to be quite honest I missed the presence of arcade machines in the theater.
So some friends and I went to go see a movie and I loved it! The service was great and the popcorn was fresh. We had great seating but they’re a little cramped. But one the less we had a great time! I would so come and again and I recommend it for anybody
Only had one concession open so the lines were very long didnt get popcorn or soda until 30min into the movie. Also no one at the ticket window so the one concession was also the ticket counter making things even worse. My went out three different times and the line was still out the door. Was informed it would be that way fir a while it always is like this. We got our tickets online so the one person down by the theaters was able to let us in. Reserved our seats when we got our tickets but our seats were not held for us. Overall it was clean staff was polite. I think next movie we will go somewhere else.
Audio with no video for the prepreviews is irritating as heck. The staff was nice, the facility clean and pleasant, so I am sad to say I will not be back for this irritation of audio and no video. Management is apparently financially suicidal.
I would not recommend. This was my first visit and the workers werent very friendly . Me and my boyfriend already purchased tickets earlier and then went to the car and walked back in and there were other people walking straight pass them from outside and they didnt bother to ask them if they already purchased tickets but asked us did we purchase tickets like we seemed to be sneaking inside the movie . Next time Ill just stick to hoover or vestivia AMC The Quality is better !
For the area the theater is located in, it needs to be updated. It’s too small and smells inside the actual auditoriums inside the theater. It didn’t smell clean and made me feel as if I should’ve brought some Lysol and raid with me.
I have a great experience. The young lady was really awesome. The seat was comfortable.
I used to work here in 2003 my favorite theater. Enjoyed the movie & had a great time visiting family! Will be back!
Went to see toy story, its a shame the summit is now reserve seating. If you enjoy very little leg room bright lights from cell phones, this is the movie theater for you, this theater has aged and very little done to bring it up to standard of most modern theaters. Really wish they would find a way to eliminate cell phone signal in the theaters.. Wont be back anytime soon.
#SamfordUniversity bought out a theater to show Just Mercy for Black History month. Great event and great film!
Service was good. We bought our tickets online. We went to see Star Wars. They didnt have the preview showing. We could hear them, just not see them. The theater wasnt full that day. So, over all a good experience.
At first when you walk in it looks like they are going out of business. My advice is to buy tickets online and not get popcorn. Lines are ridiculously long. Not enough staff to cover the customers. However, the staff that was there was very friendly and considerate, despite the apparent poor management of the entire facility.
We purchased our tickets online but when we got to the theater, we had to wait in line over 20 minutes to buy popcorn and drinks (by the way, the popcorn was stale). The ticket booth was closed, so they were having everyone buy tickets at the concession stand, which took forever since people were also selecting seats at the time. When I finally got to the concession stand to place absurdly overpriced order, the woman told me that they time the lines so no one waits longer than 10 minutes. I told her that according to the timestamp on my phone we stood in line for 22 minutes, which she told me was not possible (excuse me, maam, I think I understand how time works and know how long I stood there). The popcorn area was a mess and there were no napkins. Once we finally got into the theater, the floor was full of trash. This is the closest theater to my house and its sad to see it go downhill like this, but we probably wont patronize them again.
There was an issue with the sound of the movie and further inspection showed there was no immediate way of fixing it. I was really disappointed because it was kind of a trip to travel to the theater for this event, but the manager on duty was so kind and apologetic. She immediately refunded me my money and gave me a voucher to see the movie at any time while it was still in theaters, plus let me attend another movie right then of my choosing. She really made me feel like my trip wasnt ruined by missing my original movie, and I got to see spider-man!
Need to upgrade the seating...very uncomfortable. Also the room was hot and stuffy. I was expecting a better experience considering its location. I will not be returning.
I watched a movie there. I also payed enough for popcorn & coke to have eaten out somewhere a bit more filling. But, that seems to be a reoccurring theme for movie theatres.
Great theater. Thank god they didnt have those awful tables attached that get in your way.
Went seen Impractical Jokers the movie really enjoy the theater and the stuff was really nice they made me and my wife feel welcome
Ordered tix online for Sat afternoon. Got there and there were 60+ people in line for only 1 of 5 concession stands that was open. I can watch a billion movies at home. I go to the theater for the movie/popcorn/coke experience. Requested a ticket refund. Pitiful. Would have given them zero stars, but it wont let me
This place needs to just shut down and renovate to a more modern theater like the other AMCs.Most screens are very small and seats not so comfortable.
Clean and always friendly employees. Restrooms always spotless!
It was Awesome my daughter and I had a blast recommend it tremendously
Whether its family date or date night, we always enjoy watching movies here.
Wow just wow had an amazing experience here love the workers and everything about the cinema
Good service.... Theatre needs some updating.... No wide-screen 18:9 projectors just outdated 16:9 and theres also no Dolby atmos theater rooms as far as I know. Comfy seats though
Extremely rude service. Unbelievably disrespectful. On the stormy day today they provided no information to customers standing outside. And when calling about an update about when they were opening, we were told “I don’t know I’m not the weatherman.”We had no idea if they were opening or not. We were just looking for information. After 20 minutes of standing outside, someone finally came and RUDELY gave us 1 sentence of information and then slammed the door on our faces as we tried to ask questions. disrespectful.
Quiet and clean. Could use more water fountains and folks directing traffic, but overall, a very nice place
Alright so this movie theater needs a major upgrade. For the area its in it should be more updated and cleaner.
Cramped seating. We have been going to movies in Pell City where they have reclining seats and lots of leg room
I love the experience of picking my own seat. Theater was very clean. Staff was nice.
This location is okay, and is located in the busy Summit Mall. Theaters seem to be decent sized. Was a bit disappointed in the digital surround sound, but picture quality was good. I guess my true argument is in the seats. I expected to have leather reclining seats, instead I got cloth stadium seating. Maybe more stars if you remodel your seat and sound system.
They should either turn this theater into a Dollar theater or close it down. This theater is in a Prime location, but its Run like it is a Dollar Cinema (Lorna Road). In the 2 timesIve been there this year, theyve had no one taking tickets at the Front booths. You have to get your Tickets at the Concession area and both times they only had 1 person running it .At least at the Lorna Road (Dollar Cinema)location they always have at least two people working if not more. Also they have a problem with their cooling systems at the Summit....There needs to be a change with this theater or the only people that will be showing up are those from out of town because they dont know any better.....
Im sorry. I miss the fact that the seats would partially recline. Theyve added reserved seating, but have taken a step back on the comfort of your everyday movie goer. Ill go back, but only out of convenience in location to home.
Good to see movies toward end of run.
Theatre seats need to be upgraded. Im 51 and I had to sit side ways e with my legs across the empty seat next to me just to be comfortable. Other than that the theatre was clean. Temp was perfect and popcorn was delicious
Once again, long wait in the snack line because this place is understaffed or for some reason wont open the other snack counter. No wonder people smuggle in their own food..
Tou have tapatio packets in here. I think thats enough for me to be a loyal life customer
Over priced tickets and overpriced snacks. The theatre was hot and smelt worse than a middle school gym. Staff were total jerks
Arrived at 6:30 for the new Avengers End Game movie and it took us like 5 minutes to park and get up to the door. We needed an audio description headset so we immediately went to customer service to get that and it took the manager all the way up until 7 to get that “programmed” and by the time he got it fixed and we go into the theater it was full. Nowhere to sit. We got there early so that wouldn’t happen to us and then a group of teenagers sat beside us and acted awful and when the movie started the audio descriptive headset was not programmed so we went to just try to get a refund because by the time they would’ve reprogrammed it my boyfriend would’ve missed too much of the movie to understand where it was at. So we asked for a refund got denied that and they gave us 4 free movie passes but we don’t want to go back. I guess we’re just screwed.
The two times Ive been there the ticket booth isnt open. So you have to stand in the concession line to get tickets. Not horrible unless they have one person at the register. Not fair to customers AND staff to be running your business this way
Its a normal theater. I dont like that you have to wait in the concession line to purchase tickets - takes FOREVER!!!
Longlines broken up by premier ticket holders and us regular scrubs. Ticket takers also servw food. And will not tak anyone not premier even when they are not busy. Silly method of takung care of customers. Wonder whos bright idea that was!
This USED TO BE a nice theater. Now, it isnt. It also IS NOT keeping up with the type of quality of customer that lives and ships in this area. Dont bother prepaying for tickets (*with some exceptions*) - it wont get you into the theater any faster. You still have to go through the refreshment center line to get your tickets just like every one else... Unless you are an AMC A List member (btw thats a paid membership) then you can jump in front of others. Now, if youre tech savvy, you can have them scan your QR code before entering the theater, but if you want snacks, you still have to go through the line. Their actual theaters need updating to a more modern luxury feel like many other theaters already have. The staff looks like its on a skeleton crew. Every time I come here, I feel disappointed all around. I wouldnt have even come to this theater today if it wasnt for a specific movie that my family wanted to see. The past few times Ive been here wasnt any better. I seriously hope I dont have to come back to this theater. While Im sure there are worse theaters out there, people come to the Summit for specialty, exclusive, expensive shopping. This theater isnt in line with that concept. If Im paying premium movie prices, I expect a bit more then what they have to offer.
Saw John Wick 3. It was good. Typically high body count as you would expect from a John Wick movie. The theater itself is fine. Our seats were in one of the smaller theaters and were a bit cramped but no too bad. Our popcorn had alot of small pieces. Must have been getting close to the bottom of the batch.
Need to have where u can scan I n if no one buying anything
Zero stars. We were assigned row M. Right when the movie started they pause it and turn on the lights. The manager comes out and informs us that there isnt a row M. Three people in a group together complained bc their seats werent all together...although there was more than enough seating to accommodate them. We purchased tickets and arrived on time only to have the eight of us get up and leave due to the uncomfortable matter at hand and the manager doing Jack squat about it. Worst customer service Ive ever received. No apology, just a feeling of total alienation. Unfortunately, the lady who handled the situation so terribly did not have a name tag on.
Missed 1st part of movie waiting in line for concessions. There were 2 registers open and 5 staff members. Counted 3 other concessions that could have been staffed and open. People were getting out of line b/c their movies were starting. Premier people were walking straight up to concessions after we all were standing there FOREVER! The staff that was there was kind and doing their very best.
This sadly didnt meet expectations. The line outside was long. The concession line was even longer. They clearly operate understaffed. This is probably intentional but not good service for customers. Get your tickets online and stash your purse or bag. I loved popcorn so thats not really a solution but if you can forgo the dreadfully long concession line, do!
If youre going to an AMC theater, you can expect an upscale movie experience. Everything is clean and comfortable. All the staff has this, youre here, and youre going to love going to movies vibe. They were pretty fast with my nachos despite everybody wanting food before his or her movie. Please keep in mind the the AMC with a spoon and dine is in vestevia hills. You can now order online.
Reserved seating is nice, but seats very cramped together. Husband too tall to be able to cross his legs!
It would be nice if they advertise open caption on the screen. Who would want to watch a movie plus read the words. Also the manager (Haley) is very very rude. Also the television screen is little.
Ive never had a good experience here. Its an old theater, and it is outdated with poor video and audio quality. Heavily needs new updates. There are better theaters not but 15 minutes away.
Service was good and congenial. Mostdisappointed in old unfresh popcorn. Not freshly popped and a major reasonwe go to movies. Screen and sound systemwere barely comparable to my own livingroom.
Very nice staff, clean, professional, good viewing
This theater looks so old, the chairs are extremely uncomfortable ! and the worst part are the restrooms. I regret wasting my money in here
This theatre is the worst theatre in Birmingham. The sound was awful and the theatre smelled like urine. Not just one time but every single time. And let’s not mention the seats. Awful! Don’t waste your money on this theatre.Summit Theaters you should be ashamed.
Theater has an old school vibe.
Awesome great place to get away and relax
A great day for a movie; rainy day on Spring Break! There are lots of movies for children and it is located near Johnny Rockets and Steel City Pops! Fun, food, friends, and family entertainment!
Most comfortable theater to go to,great screen....
Nice Theatre. Nice staff. The bathrooms were not very clean. The theatres are in need of renovation. Its an older theatre not very roomy seating or as comfortable as other theatres around town. They do have 5 dollar movie night, thats really nice and great deals on concessions also. Not my favorite theatre but nice enough to return to.
I bought tickets and food at the concession stands from the manager, Haley. She took my money (cash) and openly put it in her pockets, then said we didnt need tickets and to just walk in to our theatre. Didnt get my change back and she stole from the company. Terrible way to run a buisness.
The theater was nice. I wonder how the rebrand will be for the theater. So far so good.
Mostly clean. Price was fair. Didnt like watching 4 employees chatting and hanging out laughing while one other was waiting on customers which made for a long wait to get tickets and drinks. Would have given 5 stars if not for that fact of uncaring employees.
Matinee ticket price was ok. The theater was dated. Popcorn wa cold and soda had an after taste.
Most of my dates are at this theatre, and it’s amazing. Ive only had issues once (sound broke during commercials) and my entire group was given vouchers for free movies, despite the fact that they fixed it before the movie had started.
With exception of giving us tickets to the wrong movie, giving me sight impaired headphones instead of hearing impaired headphones, the pipes in the ladies room singing so loud it hurt, and the sink counter looked similar to a lake, it wasnt too bad, luckily the movie was loud enough that I could enjoy it with my hearing aides in, most the time that isnt the case. Hopefully they upgrade the bathroom counter to granite instead of laminate before they completely fall apart. Seriously, the place needs an overall.
Its a solid value, but is absolutely in need of renovstions. The theaters are starting to look pretty shabby. The score would be lower but the niceness of the staff bumps it up star
Friendly staff . Clean theater. $5.00Tuesdays. You can see a movie withPopcorn and soda for 10.00 cant beat it.
EMPLOYEES AT THIS THEATER HAVE EITHER NOT BEEN TRAINED OR ARE TO DUMB TO FOLLOWS THE RULES. i AM SPEAKING ABOUT A FAT YOUNG BOY IN HIS LATE TEENS WHO REFUSED TO GIVE ME A FREE REFILL ON MY POPCORN AS THE BUCKET STATES i WAS ENTITLED TOO. THIS WAS SATURDAY AFTERNOON AROUND 3:15 PM AFTER THE JOHN WICK MOVIE. THE BUCKET CLEARLY STATES THAT AMC STUBS MEMBERS RECEIVE SECOND REFILL FREE ON SAME DAY PURCHASE WITH VALID RECEIPT. I WAS TOLD MY THE FAT BOY IT WOULD COST ME $4.49. LUDICROUS!
Nice.....This was an AARP event.
Enjoyed the atmosphere, went to the 7:00 show, not crowded
AMC really has brought better quality to your movie experience.
Pretty clean theater has pretty convenient location and all the new movies
I like this theater. Neet and clean
Excellent customer service by Devon (hope I got his name right) . He so graciously watched my popcorn for me while I dashed to the ladies room. He was super nice and took time to patiently explain the movie perks, rewards programs, etc. I personally spoke with his manager regarding my wonderful experience. The theatre is very clean, spacious and offers very comfortable environment and stadium seats. The popcorn is very flavorful but costly yet worrh it. Im visiting Birmingham from the east coast and can take back an excellent report!
Went on a Tuesday. Clean, theater seats. Movie was to start at 4:30. THIRTY MINUTES of previews!!!!!Also, theater was freezing cold. I took a jacket and still was cold.
Why did I purchase tickets online only to stand in in line with people that were purchasing tickets and concessions!
The prices are ridiculous for the concession. The lines are always way too long with only one person at the window. They over all movies which is not cool either. The line where they take tickets (only one) is slow, the scanner takes too long to kick. Ive been to some great AMC locations but this is not one.
Horrible. Looks old. And no games for the kids
Dirty lobby. Wait for popcorn and also an empty candy rack. Poor customer service to boot. Now I know why Vestavia was sold out. Did they not know The Lion King was this week?
This theater is still is going but not as nice as it use to be. I would recommend a dinner theater.
The young man that took our ticket was friendly and can draw very well.
Theater is clean. Service is fine. Went on a day that wasnt crowded, so the seating options were fine. Needs an upgrade with seatings and food, but most theaters do.
Worst experience! They MAKE YOU STAND IN LINE TO PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS AT THE CONCESSION STAND SO THAT YOU BUY FOOD. WHICH HOLDS THE LINE UP TERRIBLY. STOOD IN LINE 30 MIN AND STILL WAS NO WHERE CLOSE TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE AND AT THAT POINT THE MOVIE HAD ALREADY STARTED. WE ASKED IF WE COULD PURCHASE TICKETS ONLINE AND JUST SHOW THEM WHERE WE PAID AND THE GUY TAKING THE TICKETS SAID YES. SO AT THAT POINT MULTIPLE PEOPLE TRIED PURCHASING ONLINE AND BECAUSE THE MOVIE HAD ALREADY STARTED AT 7:45 THE NEXT TIME WAS 9:15. WE ASKED IF WE COULD JUST BUY THE 9:15 TICKET AND HEAD ON TO THE MOVIE. AT THAT POINT HE SAID YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 9:15. PEOPLE JUST STARTED LEAVING. IT BECAME A HUGE JOKE! MYSELF ANS MY HUSBAND HAD PAID FOR A SITTER TO WATCH THIS MOVIE AT THAT PARTICULAR TIME AND ALONG WITH OTHER CUSTOMERS WERE TREATED RIDICULOUS!!!! WILL NOT EVER BE GOING BACK TO THIS THEATER AGAIN! PLUS THE MANAGER WAS EXTREMELY RUDE! I HOPE SOMEONE STEPS IN AND FIXES WHO THINGS ARE BEING DONE AND PAYING GUEST ARE TREATED OR THAT PLACE WONT BE THERE MUCH LONGER. SAD BECAUSE IT USE TO BE A GREAT THEATER
Friendly staff, nice facility. Very clean bathroom
I had a very good time here. I go often since its fairly close to UABs campus. I took my girlfriend, who is hearing impaired, and the staff was very gracious in helping her get her closed captioning device set up. Prices are high, but thats the same for most theaters. There are also several delicious restaurants nearby for after-movie munchies. Overall a great experience.
Longest lines ever. 20 minutes early for movie and cant buy tickets because one guy is working on a holiday. Dont get into my movie until 40 mins after arriving
Popcorn had a burnt oil taste, like the oil got to hot. They charged me for my movie, even though Im an Alist customer, and then told me that there was nothing they could do about it, that I would be better reserving my ticket online. That would not have helped, because the app wouldnt pull up for me to show them my card, so I couldnt show them my ticket. I gave them my phone number, which is what I do if I cant pull up my app, and it evidently didnt pull for them either, or I would not have been charged for my ticket. I dont have this problem at Patton Creek.
Nice
In utilizing Google own rating system, a 3-star stands for its ok under their own standard, and yeah, Im essentially saying this place is ok. Thats the short note: its adequate. The prices are still steep for a movie ticket, but what can be expected of movie theaters? Place is adequately clean, and service is not notably bad or good. They basically just get the job done. For the price, however, I am not too keen on recommending this place, but if you are in the area and want to watch a movie, there is nothing horrible about this place.
