Pretty and high view with a little history but not much to be seen or learned here I think.

Very pretty views, but not much to see..its more like a highway overlook.

One of the best views around and the most well-known and iconic landmark in Hoover. A definite must see. Great for viewing sunsets and weather conditions. Definitely one of the best spots around Birmingham for landscape and sky and cloud photography. Close to food and snacks too. Highly recommended. A rare place to park to enjoy the view. Good food nearby too to make it even better.

This place is absolutely perfect to watch sunsets in Bluff Park. Sometimes the entire sky is a majestic hue of purple, pink, or orange. You pretty much are guaranteed a great sunset unless it’s overcast and rainy.

Sixty years ago I stood in awe on the cliff of lovers leap. It was the first time I realized there was much more to Alabama than the steel mills of Ensley. Irony has brought me to live within a short walk of one of the most beautiful overviews in the state. I now understand the Indian meaning of the state seal here we rest.

Located on the Crest of Shades Crest Road in Bluff Park is a set of limestone boulders and outcrops. One prominent site called Lovers Leap juts out over shades valley and allows for a quick thrill when walking up to its edge. The view into the valley is limited due to the large trees surrounding the rock but it is a nice and easy to reach spot for some contemplation.

Its a park for Jefferson County wish Hoover would take care of the place and have park rangers patroll.
