We enjoyed paddle boarding here & my boys love collecting all the little shells, looking for crawdads, they even found a big clam this time. We also walk with their metal detectors on the beach. But we choose not to really swim because their is always at least 3 or 4 dead fish floating near by along with seaweed. When you get out of the water you definitely have a smell to you & your swim suit from being in the water.

My day at this park Lake Elmo was a great day they are grills there for you too cook on. So we had a BBQ and dipped our feet in.. there is swings and a park there for your kids. You can bring floaties or even swim there if you would like. But it ls a lake that hasnt been drained Yuck! It is very beautiful spot to take nice scenery pictures

Been there a long time. Im 64 and use to swim in there back in the day. They have made it a nice looking park.

Even though there are a lot of people it was a wonderful experience for me and my family we had a blast in and out of the water I highly recommend going to Lake Elmo and make a day of it there is a lot more than meets the eye to do

Ive been coming here since the days of the dock and concession stand where you could rent a boat or some floating tubes and a lifeguard was always on watch if your out and about swing by and spend some time it never disappoints.

Lake Elmo is a great little get away just minutes from my home. Always relaxing and enjoyable.

I love Lake Elmo you can go over to fish and game and get an overnight pass and catch catfish all night great place to take my kids and their friends its close to town and we enjoy it

Beautiful day! Children playing in the sand, pavillion being used for a family gathering; dogs, paddle boarders, and fishing. I think many people have a bad perception of Lake Elmo... they should reconsider! Only recommendation would be for the bathrooms to be open on Sundays, and more shoreline clean up on Sundays.

This lake has never been cleaned out! It has been the same for 50 years and it is not a fresh water lake. Its used for irrigation.

A childhood place ive visted all my life. Somewhere around 2000 the park built a museum on site. Very nice center.

Great place to bring your family, kinda crowded on hot days but lots of parking, water is decent... have fun!

It is a lovely and active state park with swimming, non motor boats and canoes, it has fishing, grass, sand, walking trails, friendly and helpful people, picnic tables and a few barbeques, a pier, a ramp down to the edge of the water, a public bathroom, a lost and found and a couple covered tables. There is ample parking and it is handicap accessible. If you pay on your tags to go to the state parks and live in the area you can get in at no charge otherwise it is $6

Nice little break from the road trip... Unfortunately there was a rainstorm coming through so we only got to stay for about a half hour but had a good time

Lake Elmo is always a fantastic outdoor thing to do. Swimming, walk around the lake, fishing, or just float around on a tube or boat. Youll need to bring your own stuff. Bring the family and a packed lunch.

I live close to hear and that water is the grossest thing ever its like swimming in toylet water its ewwww and gross but the play ground is really nice to play on and the people that are cool and nice

A lot of biased reviews here. To be honest people, its really nothing special. Its in the middle of a residential area, its kinda murky gross water, usually busy the few times Ive been there. Fishing has never been great for me there, although Ive been told Im a terrible fisherman. I certainly wouldnt call it beautiful or the best of anything.

The park is really nice. Only problem is using the picnic table at the beach section you will have to deal with animal feces. Other than that a great place to hang out. There are some areas for picnicking that you wont have to deal with the animal feces.

Lake Elmo is beautiful!! Great place for swimming and taking the kiddos to enjoy some time running around. The water is beautiful and its all in all a wonderful time!

I love this park. When I was thinner I incorperated the trail in my long runs. The trail 1.33 miles I believe.

A beautiful day! Lake Elmo was very peaceful this afternoon. There were people walking there dogs, picnicking, swimming, fishing, jogging, using their paddle boards, and enjoying all the great things that Lake Elmo has for everyone!!!!^

I love this lake! Ive never lived 6 minutes away from this lake and it has everything! Its had paths for walking and biking. A beach area. A playground. Picnic tables. Perfect atmosphere for a great day

Nice sandy beach. Nice new playground. Clean restrooms. Quite a few shade trees although if its crowded, itll be hard to get some shade so itd be smart to bring a shade umbrella or tent.

Good place to go clothes if you want to get wet and enjoy the sun you can kayak on the lake fish with a boat without a motor fish on the shore. They stopped the lake theres a big fish out there. KidsPlayground, dog park, showers and bathrooms picnic tables and a few barbecues

A great place to take the kids on a hot summer day. I do wish the playground didnt use ground up tires as the bedding. Theres been studies that show links to cancer to that. So we dont allow our kids to play on the playground there. But a fine place to play in the water!

The water was so nice, very clean beach. The restrooms we also well taken care of, loved the outdoor shower for rinsing sand off. Also there was a paved path down to the beach so you can take your stroller!

At this time of year its not really the place to go unless you play Pokemon go

This is a great place to go all year long. In the summer its a great place to cool off when the weathers hot. You can take your boats, kayaks, floaties or any such items out on the lake and just hang out. You can access the lake all the way around it but theres also a special Beach area. This place also has a full playground as well as a path that goes all the way around the lake. There is plenty of parking.

Close by and not to crowded.

Great cooling off and fishing. Has bathrooms outdoor showers. Nice pavillion to rent for parties

We will miss Lake Elmo my son has fish there for many years with his friends sorry but we will be leaving Billings soon thanks for the fond memories that we have had at Lake Elmo

Major repairs and upkeep from the late 1990s has made this a fun safe park for families. Some parts are a little rough but I have had a lot of fun here.

Good for fishing and taking walks. No lifeguard on duty. I dont swim in it. The water is pretty dirty. They have a special area for dogs offleash and a playground. They also have picnic tables

A good place to take the kids swimming. Doesnt get deep fast, nice grass and tables to tan on, and pleasant atmosphere.

A wonderful family day out. They have a boat dock, playground, and covered picnic tables and pavilions for family outings. Free for Montana residents who paid their parks fee on their license plates. The lake offers swimming and fishing.

They should stock it better. Would be great but not enough fish in it

Clean beach area on the lake, bath house with running water is convenient, bbqs and picnic tables available for use. Play area for children as well as a place to play volleyball in the sand. Parking is convenient as well.

We celebrated our Gotcha day Friday night & had the pavilion to our 40+ group. The kids loved the water & the adults appreciate the shade.

Its a really nice place, beach, playground, and an area to fish. But you have to pay $6 if your vehicle isnt liscenced in Montana
