Incredible place for children to learn about the arts!
This place was perfect to take my kids...a break room in the theater in case they got restless, booster seats, stools in the bathroom and at the water fountain. And the production was amazing!
Beautiful theater for Children and Families including classes. The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe was spectacular and done in a sensitive way for possible autistic children.
Amazing performances for the whole family. Baby friendly environment. Always a treat for the kids.
I wish I waited for the reviews to come out. We didnt like Thumbelina. The video to interpret miniature Thumbelina was a clever idea, but overall it was missing something...so, Im not articulating great here, but just didnt like it. Been to hundreds of theater productions...left at intermission
We love Imagination Stage because they do high-quality shows that are designed for kids. Its a great introduction to the theater for young ones who arent yet ready for Broadway or the Kennedy center. Weve seen multiple shows at the Lerner Theater, and they were all good.
My daughter was 4 when I took her to her first show. Ten years later we still love coming and enjoying the amazing sets, actors and great atmosphere. I became a subscriber and am proud to support this local resource for arts in Montgomery county. Please come see a show for yourself.
We went with my daughters 1st grade class. The kids loved being able to help the characters choose their path in the play. My daughter asked if we could come back as soon as the show was over. Great fun!
The most magical place on earth! I have been going to Imagination Stage for 10 years and the organization never disappoints. Acceptable for all aged children from 1-18, kids can take classes throughout the year as well as summer camps through the summer. Great family activities include the shows in the Lerner theatre, and for the little itty bitty ones, there are wonderful interactive performances for 1-5 years old. The staff are extremely professional and everything is always run so well.
Wonderful venue for childrens activities! My grandaughters fifth birthday was held here with fourteen of her friends. The children loved the play!
Son really enjoys the performances. He wants to learn more about acting.
Awesome event, great food the caterer was fabulous as were the spirits. And the entertainment was stellar
This place is a hidden gem. We went to go Cinderella and I cant tell you how happy I was to see such a diverse cast. The production was wonderful and completely age appropriate. If you go on Sundays, theres free public parking. The tickets are very affordable and they do a great job of engaging the children. I will go back again and again with the kids!
Great season! Fantastic way to introduce kids to theater. Innovative techniques. Accommodating of families.
Imagination Stage is a wonder for children. I brought my nine month old daughter here to watch Anatole Mouse Magnifique and she was captivated by everything as was I! Ive also brought my students here to watch shows as part of their field trip and theyve loved it. The professional development that Imagination Stage does has really impacted my teaching to include more movement and activities that students love. I cant stop raving about Imagination Stage as a teacher and parent.
I went with my toddler for an interactive play, and we both loved it!
Such a cute place and The Very Hungry Caterpillar was amazing!
We saw the Play in a Day performance and were very impressed with the caliber of performance that can be created in a day by some of the professional theatre companies in our area. The Imagination Stage space itself is equally impressive. The set for the current production (Anatole: Mouse Magnifique) was gorgeous and made me want to come back with my kid to see that show as well.
My 1 year old granddaughter enjoyed the interaction of live theatre. We were a small audience of less than a 12 babies and toddlers so the little ones all participated. They also asked for adult volunteers. I didnt volunteer because I didnt think my granddaughter would be comfortable with me leaving her by the bench while I walked to the center of the stage area. It wasnt clear if our little ones could come with us.
Great theater experience for whole family.
Very good place to bring students on a field trip. A bit of interactivity and good pacing in the performance. Won over my 3rd graders immediately.
Very nice for youngsters to experience theater with original story play and interactive hands on theater to bring them into a creative space for fun and an educational experience. The parking is less than a block but you do have to pay but other than that it was great!
So fun! Play in a day.
Enjoyed the choose your own adventure show. Just enough jokes to make sure the adults had fun as well.
Love the separate room for wiggly kids... Great venue
Great show - Cinderella. The girls 5 loved it. My daughter also attended drama class and she had a great experience.
We got there late, so i really didnt understand the movie. But it seems to me that everyone else enjoyed it. The ending was interesting and we clapped even though we really didnt get the story line. But it was good movie over all. It was titled The Post .
Great little theater for kids.
I have taken about 6 groups on field trips here. Each trip I am more and more impressed. I just saw a Charlie Brown play there with a group ranging in age from 7-12. I expected the older kids to be disengaged and bored but they were 100% captivated and engaged. Bravo!
Great performance the lion the which and the wardrobe
Wonderful experience with my toddler she totally love it. The performances are totally worthy.
Adorable--you will adore it. Amazing professional shows for the kiddos; your kids will love the stories, and you will love the impressive scenery, costumes, and quality acting and direction. The best childrens theatre.
We had a wonderful time with our 2.5 year old. The show that we went to was very interactive and even required adult participation.
Affordable theater for kids. We attended the My first Imagination Stage production of Paper Dreams for ages 1-5. Im always appreciative of an event that understands that kids tend to wiggle and get restless and curious.
Love this place! I havent been to a show here yet, my daughter has and absolutely loved it. I have though, been here to take my daughter to class. Shes doing the Harry Potter class right now and is really learning a lot and enjoying her time there. Well definitely be looking at other classes for her to sign up and attend.
Full disclosure: I work at Imagination Stage. I have not been asked to write this review and am doing so because I can give useful insights to parents who are looking for quality arts programming for their kids.Imagination Stage provides a safe, inspirational, and well-conceived program for students. The facilities are beautifully maintained, and an air of professionalism can be found throughout the program. I enjoy working at Imagination stage because I am supported by the staff and fellow faculty members and empowered to help each student reach their maximum potential.
Theres a reason the word imagination is in the name.
We had such a lovely experience at imagination stage! Wonderful and exuberant show, Good man Charlie Brown... we are looking forward to the next show this Fall... cheers
Clean, easy to find, and a great part of the community. The shows are wonderful, and the space is beautiful.
The Robin Hood show was maybe too string for my PK kids, plus the staff could be a little happier since they work with young people. Theyre not rude though just little dry
Was an enjoyable field trip with my students! Love how they involve a few students in the show.
Great kids classes & shows!
Amazing shows for families!
My daughter takes an acting class here, and she loves it! All the staff are fun and professional, and the kids learn while having a great time.
Received well. Staff was ready to assist with seating and directing to the restrooms. Spoke to the kids kindly.Very cold in theater. Everyone needs a sweater or jacket.
Awesome sensory friendly performance. This place really knows how to accommodate special needs families. Highly recommend!
I plan a field trip for my entire first grade and have never been disappointed! I love taking the students here for experience that most have never had, a live play! Great actors, fun atmosphere and wonderful memories for the students. Excellent actors and actresses that do a great job adapting movies into a live play! We will always go back every year!
Fabulous production, best childrens theater Ive ever visited. Kids loved the play. Would highly recommend and we plan to go back.
Pricey kids shows done impeccably well from phenomenal actors to set design and creatively told stories. Buy a bunch of flex tickets if you can and expose your kids to the arts.
Wonderful theater programs and classes for kids of all ages. Classes, plays, and activities for the very young (1-5) are driven by childhood development research and goals. An amazing resource for the Bethesda area.
Wonderful location. Easy parking. Great show!
Saw a couple of plays here, last one was Charlottes web. A lot of attention to detail, amazing how much they get out so few actors. The kids love to go there
We saw brother Bear and it was fantastic very interactive for young children
Awesome place. Went with our Daisy Girl Scout Group. They enjoyed seeing the Princess and the Pauper. It was quite an interactive play which made it quite special.
We saw Youre a Good Man, Charlie Brown. My son and I thought the show was great and the actors impressed us.
Imagination stage is a wonderful theater for families.
Youre a good man Charlie Brown. Loved this experience with my granddaughter!
Great improv comedy training for teens
The instructors, staff and the place is just wonderful. My son is 5 and a bit shy but he is always loved, and respected here. The variety of classes and camps will always have us coming back.
I was really impressed with the quality of the Cinderella production. The cast was fantastic!
Fresh interpretation of Cinderella! I love me a swordfighting Cinderella!
Excellent venue to introduce art to your kids from an early age. Reasonably priced, adjacent to indoor parking and well staffed. Strongly recommend it.
The best classes. The best theatre for children. Easy parking. staff extremely helpful. It doesnt get any better than Imagination Stage
A great drama center for children and young adults. Hosts regular plays and musicals aimed at younger audiences. Holds drama classes for students from ages 1 - 18.
My daughter goes here for a Broadway like dance class. She loves it. The venue is outstanding and the teachers are top notch. cant wait to see how the show is!
The improv here is lit
Its in Bethesda, its not affordable for everyone. Sure its creative and fun and the camp is full of kind counsellors, but philosophically its hard to stomach geographical inequality. Ill change from 3 to 5 stars if theres an extensive scholarship program. Let me know if there is :-)
Such a wonderful place and the prices are great!
Staff here are always help ful with a great attitude.good for classes, plays and camps
Nice theater and fun plays for kids
Good place
Awesome facility. Great show!
Great camps for kids. Professional staff, safe location.
Nice performance theater and I like the place.
Intimate venue
The play was great
This is a go to for me and my kids. The plays are wonderful and well put together.
We just saw Charlottes Web there for my daughters school field trip, it was AWESOME!
It was great
Great experience. Downgraded one because the box office did not open at 9am like it was supposed to but my daughter loved the play we went to see.
Great place to bring the kids. When the kids are happy, it is 5 stars.
Varied kid-focused productions. Comfortable setting.
Rumpelstiltskin is yet another wonderful performance at Imagination Stage. Children and adults both enjoyed it, and the main character is just superb! (Note, children younger than 5 may be overwhelmed by it.)
Great for kids
Great place to take the kids, they have awesome plays for all ages.
My two shy kids really blossomed during a Summer camp at Imagination Station. The classes are well structured and inclusive.
Good theater with younger audiences in mind, but always enjoyable for the adults as well. Booster seats and a cry room help to make the experience that much better.
My son & I really enjoyed the play held here.
Our family favorite theater.
This place is the most irresponsible business pretending to be a theatre. I was physically attacked by a student in my hip-hop class, and the teacher, and director refused to punish my attacker. Instead, when my mother complained and demanded that my attacker either be blocked from my class or made be suspended for a period of time, the director only offered our registration fee back. It wasnt a matter of money, it was a matter of providing safety for me and others in that environment. This place is not only a rip-off as it sells itself as a school of arts but also irresponsible when it comes to securing the safety of its students. I would not recommend it to anyone- they are the worst.
Great theater! Charlottes Web was a great performance!
We watched Charlottes Web with our children. Very nice setup and great performance.
Really great place for classes and for seeing kid friendly shows
Delightful musical for children. Most professional.
My daughter loved camp this summer!
Awesome place for the kiddos and its located in a very cutesy part of Bethesda. Theres a cafe and a little park down the street if the kids need to burn more energy before that afternoon nap;)
Tryka is there. Tryka is good there for, it is good.
