We love going to Tommy Joes every weekend. The have the best margaritas and everything is very affordable! Also we love seeing some fellow latinos serving there.

Tommy Joe’s has really gone downhill in terms of its clientele. The food is good-sized portions of decent bar food but I’ve been three times with my husband, another time with friends, and a third with colleagues and each time there is a girl there dancing near the dining tables and filming on her phone. She has been there each time I have been! I made eye contact with one of the servers and expressed frustration but nothing was done. I’d like to have a meal without being subjected to being filmed by a drunk stranger. Or having the strange girl dance inches from my table. ALL WITHOUT A MASK. Forget social distancing! They allow such a menace. No thanks. There are too many other places in the area to go.

Casual spot with a rooftop bar area! My friends and I came here yesterday afternoon. Luckily there was a table available for us, since there were a good amount of people already there. Tables were far apart from one another and all staff wore masks!It took over 20 mins before a server came over to our table, terrible! I saw the servers attending to other tables and did not even look in our direction when we tried flagging their attention.Food was okay, we ordered the chicken Caesar salad, tater tots and crab bites. The drinks are generous with a good amount of liquor. There was a happy hour special for $5 rail drinks!

Cool little spot with great views. Food was hot and fresh. Service was great. Specials every day. Food portions to price was very good.

Came here for an event. Waitresses were great! OMG Wings and Bleu Cheese were addictive! I must have had a dozen wings. Sliders and chicken kabob were a bit dry. Environment was definitely lively.

Great for entertainment and if you want to watch a game. A ton of TVs and fun atmosphere. 4 stars because I am gluten free because of celiac disease and none of their menu options are or can be gluten free. However, based on review of friends, great bar food (that’s all they have had to eat).

It is your average bar with below average food. I tried their wings and the best part was the BBQ sauce - the wings themselves were way overdone. The beer was good as expected - I had a Stella. The service was slow and relaxed but that kept me from spending too much on the beer.so that was the good part. Main issue for me was the pretty loud music for the 2 people sitting at the bar, even though the only 3 other patrons in that place were sitting on the complete opposite end of the establishment trying to watch the game on a TV that was on mute. Sports bar??? Not really!

Great place for football

Matt and damon are awesome! They asked me my name and after that they treated me like family. They engaged in conversation, made sure I had what I needed and joked with me. Love this place!!

Asked for Extra Crispy wings, got them almost undercooked. Waffle fries were soaking wet from something and cold. Pretzel with the crab dip was chewy and tough, nd crab dip smelled bad and tasted the same.Pork sandwich was not bad, sweet and the coleslaw was okay. Nothing bad to say about it just flavor wise wasnt my thing, but still good.Chicken wrap was okay also. Nothing spectacular.Wont be eating there again.

Tommy Joes is one of the best bars in Bethesda. The day staff are consistent and nice and so are the night staff. Although its a pretty big bar with tons of space, it has a rooftop bar, and hosts tons of people but still has the local feel to it. They also open up the floor to dance on the weekends with pretty good music. The wings and crab cakes are solid.

Went on a Tuesday evening during trivia and they were out of most beer, draft and bottled. Ordered the steak salad and it was truly awful. The steak was clearly dat old over cooked and none of the other ingredients redeemed it. No one else at the table was happy with their food either. And although it was peak dinner time, they werent busy and the service was still terrible. Wouldnt return or recommend. Not sure why their rating is so high.

Pretty happy with the app selection and happy hour prices. I really liked the shrimp tacos and the pretzel bites. A decent selection of local beers and our bar tenders did a good job of keeping up.

Came out on a friday night, first time here, had a startling experience, not in a good way. Terrible customer service. I will not come back and Ill spread word. One of the bartenders, Grant, also was in charge I assume, it was slow, not busy, I called for him 3 times, finally on the fourth I said hey you on your phone then he looked up. All I wanted was a side of mayo. He didnt bother to apologize, had an attitude about it and took his sweet time, did other orders first, before tasking someone else to grab it. Being on your phone on the clock period is disrespectful work ethic. Also eating behind the bar, thats disgusting. Im pretty sure also a health code violation. I am disappointed.

Good drinks and hospitality.

We had an issue entering with an international state-issued ID, but were able to rectify the situation (apparently if you you arent a US citizen and want to drink in MoCo - bring your passport!). Management was very apologetic afterwards and smoothed things over so we could enjoy our night.

Deliciously flavorful food!! Tostadas, burgers, tacos, crab cakes, salads are all so good! And if you are a sports fan you will enjoy that atmosphere along with roof top decks seating areas. I love the food and value.

Best no frills place on Bethesda. Jess is the most lovely bartender in the area. Great ambiance.

The menu does not specify that they use peanuts in some products. Of course telling the waiter is important, but the menu should notify as well.

Cool place to chill and let off some steam

I was there on Saturday, the bartender charged me for an extra Long Island and I tried to explain to him. I didn’t order it but he kept yelling over me and arguing. It was the bartender with the tattoos.

A terrific place to hang with friends and watch the games. If youre hungry, theres some decent bar food, nothing to write home about. Service can be hit or miss, depending on how busy they are. Ive definitely had some fun nights here.

There is a wide variety of great food within a few blocks and plenty of other bars and pubs in the area for those who prefer to move around from place to place throughout the evening.

Good place for Taco Tuesday. Have never been for the night crowd, but the food is decent for lunch. Seared ahi tuna was way too done, but shrimp, steak, and chicken tacos are all good. Fries are like Chickfila and Arbys fries had a love child that ended up as Tommy Joes delicious fries.

Nice place to hang out after work.

Be careful, DO NOT PAY WITH CARD!!!!. They always charge more money than they should!!

I went out with friends on Saturday night, I dont drink but they have games on and other sporting events also the atmosphere is pleasant. Only one thing is they have a dancefloor so I try to enjoy myself but the DJ is TERRIBLE he plays gangster music or music no one can dance to and people leave because of this. I repeat he is absolutely Terrible!!!

Tommy Joes has some decent food if you go during normal hours but its really made during the night scene. Drinks arent too over priced and the DJ is pretty solid. But not much beats it in Bethesda honestly.

Late night attendance and all was merry and pleasant. Drinks were served quickly, and were strong. Alot of young people mixing with alot of people over 45. I am 50, but I never felt out of place. Drinks kept flowing and people kept dancing until security closed the place

Poor service and demeanor from the bar staff lead to a subpar experience. When a female within our party asked if they had mimosas (it was 11:30 a.m) the bartender responded that this was a bar and that they didnt serve girly drinks. The food was not much better than the service; I would not come back again.

So went last night they have karaoke which I love the list of songs where updated. Food was good got myself some wings all in all had a good time only reason I dont give 5 stars was the staff 2 bartenders who spent most of the time talking to themselves was hard to get there attention otherwise a great night

Whoever is in charge of this location needs to train their bouncers better. After reading multiple reviews, it appears that many customers have had the SAME EXACT ISSUE with an incompetent bouncer deeming their ID is fake, for whatever reason. Here is a copy of my review I have posted on Facebook, Yelp, and Google Maps.Terrible experience. As soon as we got here, the absurdly rude bouncer deemed one of our out of state group group members IDs as fake. The only way to get it back is to wait for law enforcement to come verify that is in fact not a fake, after which we will be promptly leaving. Had the bouncer offered to communicate with the cops or even the bartender offered any form of non-alcoholic beverages, perhaps this would be a 2-rating. But the bouncer was incredibly rude throughout the entire process and obviously does not care anything about customer service as when we told him as soon as we get the ID back we were leaving as we dont appreciate this treatment and his response was, Im sorry you feel that way. I would hate to see how any other employees treats their customers here.We ended up waiting over an hour for the police to come, only to verify what we already knew: the ID was not fake. What an absurd waste of time and a pleasant evening. Will not be returning ever. Too bad, Tommy Joes lost out on $200+ business last night.TL,DR: Bouncer not only incompetent, but incredibly rude. Deemed legal out of state ID fake, wasted my groups time and the cops time. Friends ID is now ruined because of the bouncers incompetence.

Its a really cool bar to go to with friends if you wanna watch a game on the weekends or if your trying to dance they have a DJ on deck. Also, the quesadilla there SLAPS.

Ordered this on Uber eats, took 40 minutes to get here when I stay 6 minutes away, wings are dry and half raw! Disgusting!

This place used to be awesome, had an awesome rooftop with very convenient location, but unfortunately the quality has gone down. I do believe is an exceptional happy hour place, and if your company is near by, they are very acvomodating. With the exception of few workers that have stuck through the times, most employees dont satisfy the quality of service it once described tommy joes. It used to be a fun place to go out during the weekends too but now I barely enjoy it

I was dragged to this sport bar looking place by my girlfriend. Nice spacious place, every personnel member I have interacted with were nice and friendly. Drink prices are decent. But my absolute 10 Star rating out 5 goes to DJs at Tommy Joes!!!! Outstanding mix of music, very intuitive and interactive. It was my third time at Tommy Joes as always had a lot of fun!

Bartender overcharged me when I asked him to split by bill with my friend so we could pay separate. He took 10 min to take my credit card that was on top of my receipt at the bar. I would not recommend unless you want bad service.
