Great staff, everytime I go I am always made to feel comfortable..

Nice place but I dont want to come to this place anymore. I thought some of the staffs are rude and unfriendly. In the summer camp, one guy(I dont know his name but hes the staff) so he brought up the topic about the singing group tlc and I said oooo I love this group and then out of nowhere... He gets mad and said toxic masculinity things to me like why cant I give their positive opinion about this group but yet you the one who brought it up in the first place. Im not coming back to this place ever again and again, this place is amazing but the staff and their communication skills suck.

Membership Beware!! I am a member at Legacy Y and just found out the leadership has decided to close the indoor pool from 12-4 each weekday for camps for the next 10 weeks. Members are no longer allowed to use the pool during this time. To my knowledge this has not been announced or posted to the membership.Update: Legacy Y revised their pool schedules yesterday (5/21), allowing a better spread of pool time for members! Thank you for being responsive!

So its September and 95 degrees out but the outdoor pool area is closed. This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Ask the staff why and they dont even know. Ill find a more informative place for my family to go.

DO NOT VISIT THIS LOCATION. The receptionist Sheryl is very rude and disrespectful. I will NEVER return to this location again due to her lack of professionalism and communication skills. Her unethical, unprofessional behavior caused me to act out of character which was not my intentions. I’m sure the YMCA does not tolerate this behavior. On another note please visit the location in Homewood. The staff there were very professional and welcoming, and treated my Husband and I with the upmost respect and were very helpful! I will definitely go back even though it is out of the way! They exceeded all of our expectations! Homewood is the way to go. Maybe they can can give you all some pointers on Customer Service!I was told someone would reach out to me immediately after posting this review on their Facebook page. It’s now Wednesday haven’t heard anything. Reached out to the CEO he told me to give him a call this morning from 7:30-8 when I called he wasn’t in the office. They obviously allow this behavior.

The manager was incredibly rude and accused of coming in and not paying. I ignored her rudity and I went to my class. I used the sauna after and there was a disoriented maintinece worker inside. I was appalled. I will not be back.

My son was terrorized every day he went to camp! Almost drowned by other children. No one that was supposed to be In charge seemed to know what was going on. It was practically impossible to get anyone to talk to you. Communication was horrible! I could go on, but bottom line is; If you value your childs safety and self esteem do not send them to camp at the Legacy YMCA

Took my grandchildren to swim at another location and I will just say, this was more of my comfort zone... Nice facility and now we are members

Usually a clean, fun, family-oriented place to go. The summer time can be a little crowded, especially with the summer camp kids and if you want to swim in the outside pool Id recommend going after the Summer-camp kids get out because theres just so many kids. The exercise equipment is pretty nice. The womens locker room and bathroom are always clean. The employees at the front desk are always friendly, especially the blonde girl I think her name is Kayla- is always super friendly.

Daughter wanted to play . So we joined. Freindly staff. Old but nice building. Plently of things to do at the Y.

Great staff and place to get in a 5am workout

Nice people, but needs an update. Other YMCA in higher economical areas look a whole lot better but the employees and people are not as welcoming.

I love the Y. My only complaint us that there are sometimes children in areas they should not be.

This YMCA is in desperate need of an update. Compared to other YMCA in the area this lacks the upgraded amenities.Sherry Keys Zumba is the best class.

Been going here for more than a year now. This YMCA has all the facilities but compared to the one in Hoover this one definitely needs a lot of work to be done. Im assuming thats because the one in Hoover was built more recently. Only YMCA around the area with a raquetball court which btw also needs some maintenance. Helpful staff. If asked to choose between the one in Hoover and Bessemer I would pick Hoover all day just because its alot nicer.

I have been going there on and off most of my life, it has changed some, but, in all its still a good place to go to

My daughter is in summer camp here and loves it but it take them like 30 minutes to get her to you when its time to pick up. Needs a little more organization.

I enjoyed my first day there today it was really nice. The staff seemed to know theyre job and was helpful. I like how they have workout equipment with the cardio equipment and the free weights in another. Ill be spending plenty of time there

Legacy YMCA in Bessemer is terrific. Great selection of equipment, heated pool, clean, friendly folks and convenient to Hueytown, Bessemer and Pleasant Grove. Come work out!

Such a family atmosphere, everyone is so friendly.

Lap swim twice a week. Today kids back and forth in the lap lane and hanging on lap divider. People staying in one place in the middle of lap lane. Having to go around both kids and people was annoying. Lifeguard just ignoring people in way.

Ive been a memeber of the YMCA for years now. Most of the facilities that i have used are pretty good. If you are looking for a place to keep the entire family fit and together, the Y is it! They have a little something for everyone. From swimming to Yoga to Zumba to Strength training and more. I think youll love this place one you give it a try.

Great service, atmosphere and excellent teachers. The lockers rooms could use some updating, paint is chipping, rust is present on certain places and theres a mildewed smell in the steam room.

Very friendly staff cant wait to get back into a exercise routine.

Good facilities, weight room, cardio, exclusive areas for special training and programs, an indoor pool, outdoor pools with water slides, tennis courts, track, soccer fields, picnic area. This place really has it all and Im glad to enjoy it with the res of our community.

I like the YMCA. It has water aerobics, a steam and sauna room, and other amenities. The only thing I dislike about the YMCA system is that if you want to visit another YMCA for whatever reason, you cant unless you pay an additional monthly fee.

Friendly Staff, clean facility, New and updated equipment. Great place for kids and the entire family.

Staff is very nice. However, pool chairs are in very poor condition. One collapsed while I was in it. Shortly after, the man who was sitting next to me had the same thing happen to him.

The treadmill is my favorite. Working on cadio, thighs and glutes. Its clean not funky smelling. I know I can get in better shape, I just have to drive down the street the treadmill is not to coming to me. The only thing went wrong was the vending machine wouldnt take coins lol.

This place sucks kid zone is completely unprofessional their are children running around during exercise class their is always an issue with them taking funds out of your account multiple times in one month and they always have to many grown men in the changing while little ones are in there..need old management back
