This was such a blast I came to see the fungus fair and attend a drawing Workshop to learn how to draw and paint mushrooms and other fungi. All the tables in the community center were covered in different mushrooms that had been scavenged in the woods surrounding. Theres cows and goat with long curly horns nice hiking and beautiful trees. A must-see event
I was surprised to see the Education Center/Visitor Center to be soooo big! Our local regional park is Big Break out in the delta and its extremely small by comparison. It was really cool so see everything in there and I love that they have an area for children to play.
Its a cute little museum about the area and animals. Its free, you can bring your kids, great to visit for young kinds and later as adults. They have presentations sometimes so thats nice.
Little Farm! My kid loves it here. You can only feed the animals lettuce and celery and you have to bring your own. I threw my kids b-day party here and went to Berkeley Bowl and got a case of celery wholesale (ask them in the back for cases) for about $12. Each kid got a bunch and they had tons of fun!
Had a blast here recently at the Tilden Fungus Fair. The facilities were nice and the people were great.
This place is a must see for Bay area attractions. Love the farm animals!!
Always an amazing experience, with enthusiastic naturalists and staff and great community events and educational programming. Been enjoying the center for well over 24 years now! Great hiking nearby, happy animals to learn about.
Gorgeous getaway tucked away in the Bay Area
There is great hike up the the wildcat ridge where you can see the entire bay on a clear day. If its really clear, you can see Mt. Diablo as well. There is a farm at the trailhead with tons of animals, bring some lettuce to feed the animals.
A very beautiful park!
