The planetarium show was pretty cool. Nice quality images, decent sound. I wished the chairs leaned back or werent hard across the top so theyd be nicer on my neck, but I wasnt sore after. Its a small space, but adequate. Located roughly across from the parking garage.

BC had the first major planetarium in the Puget SoundBC’s Willard Geer Planetarium is the only one located at a Washington State community college, and is the only planetarium in the state using an advanced, digital system to project and move images on the planetarium’ domed ceiling. The 60-seat planetarium is almost constantly in use as a classroom for more than 1,400 BC astronomy students and 1,600 elementary and middle school students each year. The planetarium is named in honor of Willard Geer, BC’s first physics instructor. Geer was a driving force in bringing the planetarium onto the BC campus. This is what my family and I are going to see tonight:Planetarium ShowThe show will consist of two professionally produced planetarium shows, Wonders of the Universe and New Horizons, as well as a live segment introducing the audience to that nights sky.The New Horizons show follows a comet on a journey throughout the Solar System. From breathtaking landscapes to violent volcanic eruptions to the sheer beauty of Saturns rings, explore the planets and moons of the solar system in a majestic journey through our celestial neighborhood. Audiences will travel down to the surface of the planets, and experience what life would be like from those brave new worlds. In Wonders of the Universe the audience will peer deep into space through the eyes of the orbiting Hubble Space Telescope and travel back billions of years in time to witness the birth of the universe. On this breathtaking excursion, youll witness the formation of galaxies and explore some of the most wondrous nebulae and astronomical structures yet discovered. The stars and planets visible above Bellevue will also be discussed so audience members can go home and stargaze from their own backyards. The Planetarium is a special domed-ceiling room where the nighttime sky is accurately reproduced. The show is not recommended for kids under the age of six. Because the room is dark during the show, there is no late admission.
