I saw Dr. Grashe to restore a family painting my grandparents had bought back in the 80s that I was worried about - it had some tiny cracks and was starting to look faded. Im so pleased with the end result! The painting has never looked better, and Im so excited to show my grandma when she comes to visit. I really appreciate how thoughtful and detailed the entire process was - Dr. Grashe is clearly an expert in what he does. Thank you so much Dr. Grashe!
I’ve been looking for a good art restorer for a while and after reading some great reviews about Grashe, I decided to give this place a shot. And man am I happy I did! Michael, the owner, did an amazing job with some old family paintings of mine. Although they are a few generations old it looks like NEW! Highly recommend this place.
We have a Norwegian painting from a grandmother who got it from her mother who was given it for a wedding gift. It was dark and wavy. Michael restored it, stretched it on new stretchers, and reframed it. and now it is beautiful. His work is excellent and he is knowledgeable about fine art. He was a pleasure to work with.
Excellent service and very knowledgeable. Gave some great advice about framing and how to hang/store the painting to prevent any future deterioration. Could not recommend highly enough.
I was refured to this place by a friend of mine. I had some old porcelain pieces that were left to me by my grandparents and got broken during my move. I brought it into Mr. Grashe and he was very professional, he new exactly what these pieces were worth. When I came to get my restored pieces back they looked brand new. I was very impressed with the work that Mr. Grashe did. Definitley recommend this place.
Too expensive for what I got out of it. Most of the work was notable on the frame, which I had wanted left alone.
I was fortunate enough to inherit some really beautiful paintings from my mother when she passed. I wanted to have them in my home but several of them were damaged. They had hols, tears and looked really dirty. This was my first time using a conservator and I was cautious as a few of the paintings were somewhat valuable and I wanted to make sure that nothing reduced their value.I met with Dr. Michael Grashe in his beautiful studio in Bellevue. He was kind enough to walk me through the entire process of restoration. After he was done examining my paintings he quoted with me with the exact price.I received a formal proposal and approved the work. The work was completed as promised, in three months. The paintings looked AMAZING and I cant wait to bring in some others as Dr. Grashe really did breathe new life into them.I cant express how thankful I am to Grashe Fine Art Restorers for saving my artwork!
Nice older gentleman in a small unsecured shop at the back of a seedy strip mall. Rather expensive quote. Overstated the value of the painting by 20 fold, maybe to make his price seem correct. (We are not sure of course.) Would go back but come with more information on value of painting. And negotiate. We did go back and a small painting was completed with very good results. So our opinion has gone up. And we will go back with more work.
I contacted Dr. Grashe regarding a tough 1700-1800 century oil painting restoration. It was very old had a wavy canvas and needed LOTS of repair. I just recently picked it up from what I can imagine with a very difficult job and it looks AMAZING! Dr. Grashe is a true gem for painting restoration work!
To call Michael knowledgeable would be a tragic understatement, how demonstrable expertise is incalculable
It was a pleasure to work with Grashe fine arts. I am very pleased with the results, and will be recommending them to my friends and family.
He always do a great job!
