My son took private basketball lessons from Cheryl many years ago when he was in grade school and he learned so much from her. Cheryls driven passion for the game as well as her passion to help others improve their skills is why she has such a positive program. This program (Higher Level Camps) will help all players to be the best they can be not just in the game but out in the world which can be pretty tough! Cheryl thanks for all of your dedication and hard work in developing the longest running basketball camp in Wisconsin!
We are into our second year with HLC. We love this program and what it is about. Accountability, integrity, hard work, and the list goes on. Can’t wait for 2020 season.
Capitalizing on families wanting to watch their kids play. $7 entry fee for adults and $5 for kids to watch my 11 year old play a game. Who the heck wants to tell their extended family to come watch and then feel terrible for leading them into this price gouging racket?
I been with HLC for 2 years. I like what they stand for. They hold the players accountable, they make them work hard to accomplish their goals.
My family has been with HLC for two years and we love being a part of the program! We believe in the mission, vision, and values of this program. The program focuses on player and character development. Cheryl is passionate about helping youth achieve their goals and becoming productive young men and women in our society. HLC is a wonderful program!
I coached at a camp under Cheryl for the first time this year and it was a great experience! There is a lot of basketball knowledge and great coaches in the program.
Higher Level Camps has been wonderful for my family. I don’t know what we would do without this wonderful program. Cheryl has a genuine passion for helping youth.
HLC is committed to helping athletes develop their potential in all aspects of being an athlete. I especially appreciate the commitment of Cheryl and her staff to help the athletes develop character so they can be a success in the future no matter what direction their athletic career takes them.
Program focused on improving skills in their players making them all around players. The players are allowed to learn different positions. Players receive equal playing time. The coaches have been great and very knowledgeable pulling more out of the kids during the season. I have watched the players on all teams grow by the end of the summer. A overnight basketball summer camp is also offered which the kids look forward to every year. Camp provides additional opportunity to increase skills, play in several games and have fun with a few non basketball activities.
Cheryl Mohr is an amazing director and is incredibly passionate about youth. She has come along side Wempners School of Dance to assist us in creating a board and helping grow our program. She currently is working side by side with the Salvation Army to raise funds for the homeless shelter.
HLC used to be a good program. Now it’s all about the money, We were lied directly to our face about hidden extra costs for college recruiting from the owner. When we brought this up to other parents, We were released from the team for it.I would suggest looking for other AAU programs. You will find many more for less then half of the price, that actually have honest members and qualified coaching and mentoring programs.Your child deserves the best, this is far from it.
Not the type of program that we were told or expected it to be for an AAU team and for the money they require. They do focus on skills but dont teach game plays. I understand that these skills should be a focus for younger teams but not so much for the older players and teams. Teams from HLC usually get beat, most times by a lot. The coaches and Sheryl would yell at the players to pass more and dribble less but they had no plays developed for the offense so the players had to dribble to get free and a shot off. My youngest son had a good coach in Dre. My son really liked him as a coach. If you want to compete in tournaments, learn skills in offense and defense, and develop team concepts with different players from different areas and/or schools, find another AAU program. You will most likely get most, if not all of that, for half the cost on any other AAU program. Just a parent and current boys basketball coachs observation :)
I would highly suggest looking into other AAU programs! This one is just not worth the money as it is about double most other programs out there. We are much happier with the new program our son is in after spending 2 seasons w/ HLC.I brought up concerns to Cheryl and she just kept telling me to talk to her attorney instead of dealing with her lack of communication and misinformation that was sold to us when we initially signed up our son. It seems to be all about the money here.
I have found that the quality of the basketball instruction is top notch. Your child will have the opportunity to develop their skills in all parts of their game, no matter what position they play in school. It doesnt matter where your kid starts from as the HLC program will only help them get better. I highly recommend it.
I have had 2 kids in the program and both have made great strides in their skills in basketball. I love the mission of the organization and their willingness to hire great coaches for our kids.
Love this program! The amount of improvement, in both general skills as well as confidence, Ive seen in my daughter after just one summer was amazing!!
HLC has not been around this long for just any reason! Coaches must earn a spot and MUST have a kids first mentality! Having been a part of different AAU warehouses, NONE compare to the quality, tradition, sportsmanship and genuineness as Cheryl and all her staff! Best around!
Great experience! Great Team and people! Proud to have my child involved in this program.
This program works!Focusing on the players development through skills and drills along with teaching the players court knowledge, our son has improved greatly, giving him the confidence on and off the court.
I have been with the program for 10 years between playing and coaching and it is a great program. HLC does a good job on focusing on the fundamentals and player devolpment. Also, the program really helped me out as a player and assisted me throughout the recruiting process for college basketball.
My twin daughters have been part HLC family for the past two years greatly improving theirs basketball skills and confidence. HLCs mission and values are just the experience I wanted for my girls.
Having been a division 1 athlete. I highly recommend the instruction and learning that hlc will give you.
Over the last couple year I have seen my kids grow as basketball player, HLC has made a huge difference in the players they are. I value that they hold them to high standards not only on the court but off as well!
After our first year in 2017, my daughter LOVES HLC. From Cheryl Mohr, to the coaches, parents and young adults involved, it is a great community to be involved with. We look forward to many years being associated with HLC!
Our boys wanted to play basketball more than just with school/rec so we looked into it and found HLC. The things they have learned from the experienced coaches are amazing! The experience they get from the tournaments and camp cant be matched! The difference we have seen from our boys just playing school/rec basketball to HLC in the in the off season is huge! This will be our 4th year with the program and our 3 boys cant get enough! Holding the boys/girls accountable for their commitment to basketball is a plus! Its not just a camp that takes your money and treats the boys/girls like a number, individual and team attention is unmatched. The only regret we have is that we didnt start sooner!
Great people! Great process! Awesome for kids!
Great group of people to work with!
