This place is so gorgeous! When it was my time to tee off I got distracted of how beautiful it was! This place deserves every good thing that happens to it. I hope they get promoted one day.

I was here for a high school reunions. Very nice, very well-kept grounds, wonderful catering facilities, the food was great, the staff was great, the drinks were strong. I highly recommend this to anybody considering a a party of any kind. We had access to both the inside and the outside. The weather was fine. It was nice celebration in a very nice facility.

Very lovely place..just had a face lift inside..all new and a fresh outlook..food outrageous..very fresh & very tasty..great to have a party at..and if you are looking for a place for a Wedding, Anniversary party or a Fundraiser this is the place!! Staff is wonderful, very professional and very knowledgeable..no worries..

Warning: Brutally Honest And Long Overdue Rant AheadIve been hesitating on writing this review simply because as I recall not so long ago (or was it?) the Southward Ho was once the cats meow of the South Shore of Long Island. Being a member of Southward Ho once represented wealth, community, and leadership. It was always much more than a golf course and hall. It was a historic landmark that offered locals a warm feelings of nostalgia with every slow drive past. Fascinatingly enough, to this day members shell out hundreds of thousands of dollars just for a seat on the board. But, for why? Could it only be delaying the inevitable?Perhaps it is best that our fond memories of the Southward Ho remain only so, memories. To be quite frank, this place is so stuck in the past, its as inviting as a mausoleum. I say so because the place actually smells like death inside and the overall vibe is the place is drab and dreary, sorta like the Hollywood Hotel ride at Disney, only minus the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride.I swear the last time I went there, I could smell the bathroom from the parking lot. Theres one area between the coat closet and the bar where the bathroom is. It was so bad I literally had to hold my breath as I walked between those areas. Among many other notable issues, the power went out several times and it brought the party to a halt several times. Awkward. I would even accept power issues over the smell and the food. That was when I knew this place was burnt toast.As for the food, everything tastes like a burning gas oven. Everything was overcooked and mediocre at best. Nothing pin-worthy to see here, folks.Now, let me focus on the pros. Theyve just renovated the place (which was why I was shocked when I heard because the place completely reeked of mold and in certain areas, sewage). Theres no doubt that this establishment is historic in its own right. Its beautifully kept, the grounds are stunning. The actual building itself has potential.. but it needs to be burnt to the ground first because clearly the gut job didnt cut it.I would be utterly shocked if this place remains open for another 10-15 years. Im sorry. I hate to have to write this review but its my honest view. I believe catering halls are going the way of the dinosaurs but the golf course...The golf course may keep this place going for just a little while longer.
