Very nice movie theater!!! All employees are extremely nice. The food was delicious and the seats are so comfortable!

Ive been to this location twice and neither time Ive been served the first time the server came through. In addition, theres no reason for a light at your seat because they do not pay attention to it. I wouldnt say its the worst location of the franchise only because I havent been to any of the other locations. However I bet its the worst location 9f the franchise.

If you are looking to watch a movie in total comfort and enjoy a drink and/or a meal, Movie Tavern is the place to go. This is the only theater we go to in Baton Rouge. Good class of movie goers and you are not bothered by “talkers” there. Excellent location! They have a good variety of food you can order. Of course you can still get the old standard movie snacks like pop corn and soft drinks. The drinks and food can be a little pricey. Expect to spend at least $30 to $40 on food and drinks for 2. Does save you in not having to go to a restaurant after the movie! Cheap tickets are on Tuesdays. A Lower ticket for seniors on Fridays.

Great place. I read the bad reviews and went anyways. The service was great Taylor was our guy and gave great service. Food was good not great,but it is bar food. People talked about price of food, it is same as bar food price to me. Drinks were good and strong. Had a great time.

Neat Place to watch a movie. Plenty of parking. I ordered my tickets online. Nice thing about that is that you can choose your exact seat. The theater has less seats but every seat appears to be larger, have reclining capabilities and a small table that has a button for ordering. The seats have large armrests that don’t appear to be shared and have cupholders. This was my first time to a theater like this so I got there early and pressed the button. No-one came for over 10 minutes. The waiters appear to make rounds about two or three times during the movie. It was very neat and convenient and worth trying.

Service is super slow if you get any at all. I waited 40 minutes for a drink I ordered before I finally just got up and got it myself. The food is usually barely edible. I went several times simply because they had a specific drink I really liked. But that became inconsistent as well. Were definitely not coming back. The only good thing is the location and the reclining seats.

Great place. Real cozy. Great STAFF. I just dont like that they walk in front of the movie screen while the movie is playing

I spent over $100 and the service was horrible. They get two stars for comfortable chairs and quality of the viewing screen. I would not have minded paying the high prices if there had been quality food and service. The pepperoni pizza my son ordered had no sauce and the crust was about the thickness of a flour tortilla. I ordered the grande nachos which were decent except for the chips being stale. My wife ordered popcorn and pretzel bites, which she said were good. A selling point for our drinks was free refills. We needed drink refills and hit our buttons for service about halfway into the movie. We waited approx 30 minutes before a server came and apologized for the wait then asked what we needed. She took our order but never returned with our drinks. I like the concept but I will not be returning to this one.

Ive been to this theater twice recently. It has improved so much since my visit when they first opened. The past 2 servers were helpful, friendly, and attentive even when they were juggling several tickets at once. Outstanding.

Worst movie theater ever. I have been coming close to every Tuesday night (for the $5 movie deal) & hope that it will get better. It never does. Tonight, my movie started at 7:55. I arrived at 7:30 and they wouldn’t let us in because they weren’t done cleaning. I ordered a water and a coke and some food. The food came out in about 20 minutes, whereas my water and coke took an entire hour and 10 minutes before i received it. Truly ridiculous. The staff is careless and unfriendly. Movie theater was loud with no staff to lower voices. I asked for a menu and received attitude from the lady letting people into the movie. All in all, I will never attend this movie theater again and I strongly advise no one else does either.

We went to see Bad Boys on 1/18/2020 at the 7:40 show and the movie was good but, we ordered food and drink right before the movie started and didnt get any of it by the time the movie was over. This was very inconvenient and it shouldve been more servers and it was hot and kind of uncomfortable. I hope you all can get it together because I wont be coming back.

This was my first time checking out the Movie Tavern. I have experienced other similar theatres so I was interested in knowing the difference.Here are the pros and cons.Pros: You have the option to have dinner and a movie outside of your home, as well as, the option to buy your tickets there or online. We chose to purchase the tickets there and were able to pick where we wanted to sit and were given tickets with our seat numbers, like a concert, actually. You could see which seats were taken and which seats were available and how far they were from the screen. The recliners were comfy and adjustable with electronic push button controls. You kinda feel like youre at home in your home theater. There is a bar area, but you also have the option to order from the bar at your theater seat. I was shocked to see the amount of food choices. Im Vegan so I was happy to learn that there were Vegan options on the menu. I tried the General Tsos Cauliflower. It was pretty good. My family tried other items on the menu and they were all pleased. There was something for everyone. Key Word: Options.Cons: The amount of movies offered is slim, it also changes. We looked online for a movie, arrived there to watch it and discovered that it wasnt playing, so check online, but maybe confirm by calling. We decided on another movie, which actually was a very good choice. Another con, it can be a bit expensive, but possibly comparable if you were to leave the theater and go somewhere else. Your server may change in the process, so at some point they were kinda confused about who received what and some orders were confused, but, it was all sorted out eventually.Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it.

I like coming for $5.50 Tuesdays--general public--and $6 Thursdays for students.Sometimes the wait to order and receive food while seated can be very long. Food and drinks are pricey, but that added luxury is appreciated. Staff is friendly. The place could be a bit cleaner.

Its decent but the prices are extremely high during the first matinee showing. I spent $24.00 for two movies for the 1st viewing. I asked for the standard and they said it was. Bad Boys was over $13.00 for just 1 guest and Just Mercy was over $10.00. This is ridiculous. I couldve went to AMC and paid less cheaper for to see movies. Their 1st matinee is $5.45 not $13.00 or $10.00. Ridiculous!

Movie Tavern has always been about a 3 star experience. Half the time no one comes in to serve you and if they do, it takes a while. Staff turnover is high, I’ve never seen the same person twice in 3 years. Food generally comes out fairly quickly though, perhaps a little too quickly in this particular case. Generally, it’s good to fully cook food before serving to customers but I upon ordering and receiving the chipotle chicken sliders, I discovered on my second of four sliders that they were raw and not fully cooked! Raw and pink on the inside. Raw chicken. They said it was a new employee and apologized. I’m no cook, but I know you need to fully cook food before serving it. I always check when I grill food using a fork and knife or food thermometer to check the internal temperature. Meal was comped of course, as it should be, and they offered any other food but understandably I was wary. Hopefully, I don’t get sick, but if I do I’ll be happy to do it inside Movie Theaters by Marcus.

Next theater experience good food and the service was very courteous and professional and they have upgraded the food choices to even providing more nutritional options.

Had a wonderful time as per usual, the staff is always friendly and the service great. Very comfortable seating in a not so crowded (at the right time) theater, often have lots of offers for ticketing, tonight was 5 dollar tickets and and free popcorn. It was a nice surprise, I strongly suggest visiting for your next movie experience.

Their service is improved a lot.I just hate that every time someone is sitting on my seats. I guess they think theyre pretty smart to sit exactly in front of the screen without buying those seats in advance.

The staff at the front was slow with the gift pass I had, (I had to purchase an additional one). Slow to approve the ticket. 45 minutes to get our food and by the time we get it, it was cold. Milk shake we ordered with our food came long before the food did. Needless to say the milk shake was not up to par and none of the food was great. We have been here enough to know that they are seriously lacking in quality staff and food. I’ve had the same things on previous occasions and this was by far the worse.

I like the movie tavern you can rest well in those comfortable recliners my husband and I ordered the game day tray it was $16 comes with 3 hamburger sliders 8 wings and bacon cheese fries.The kids menu had pick 3 for $ 8 and some change, the oldest had wings and fries that was $10 and they frozen lemonades were good. The place was nice and clean bathrooms were clean just a Lil stench.we were told never sit on row A but I find it to be just fine with the proper seat reclining.

This is a really great place to bring family and friends. Always have deals $5 Tuesdays $6 Thursday in great weekend deals

I enjoyed the service by the wait staff we had but overall it was not great. But I want to say again that young lady who took care of my family of six was an angel and gave us a blessing in her care of us, she will never know.

I am beyond words, how does a $26.00 food and drink charge turn into $50.00 when I clearly saw the bill and paid for it and signed the copy. Get home and bam $50 straight out of my bank account. Thieves I swear. Im going to raise heck tomorrow. This is ridiculous and if I find out some one messed with the tip amount I will press charges.Update: its been 4 days and I have called day and night and absolutely no answer on the phone. Called there second location in juban was promised a call back because the managers from both were close friends.. its been 2 days since. This place it a joke. How the heck do you contact these people. I live a hour away.

It really a good place. Watch movies in a clean theater sounds like a good deal. Wait for servers is usually quick. The food may or may not take too long. The fried foods may not be drained properly. Otherwise, its a good place to bring friends and family.

The hand rails block the view when you sit at the top. Wish I had known when I was buying tickets. Also paid cash for my food, but a different woman brought it to me and I received no change back from the first woman. I feel like my money was stolen. Staff here sucks.

Im guessing that Sunday is the best evening to go. It only had a few people in the movie we saw. The service was fast and good. The best vanilla shake Ive had in a very long time.The only problem I had was the room wasnt ready when we first arrived.

Let me preface this review by saying that the serving staff was very nice and the girl who took care of us, Kristy I believe, was delightful.Unfortunately, thats where my praise for this theater ends. At the start time of the film, the projector appeared to not be working. The audience was left in the theater for 45 minutes before a manager finally showed up and directed everyone to a different room.But of course the theater we were sent to hadnt even been cleaned yet. So everyone was left sitting in the hallway holding their food and drink for another 10 minutes while the new theater was cleaned. And all of this happened with barely an apology from the manager.I am not coming back here. I overheard from some of the staff that the theater experiences several technical difficulties. Between that and management that could care less about their customers, Ill take my business elsewhere.

Great customer service the food was excellent especially the fish sandwich and the breakfast sandwich. The game day is still my favorite with the Bacon cheeseburger. Delicious!!!!

The food prices have gone up 30-50% since they opened. It used to be an okay deal to eat and watch a movie but not anymore. The food quality combined with eating in the dark isnt worth what the food costs now. They do have $5 Tuesdays now with a complimentary popcorn. Id say thats the only reason Id consider going back.

My movie experience was amazing. Nice, neat and clean theaters. Sound was on point too. The only problem was I ordered chicken wings with ranch dressing, but they brought out blue cheese. I know some of you are thinking its supposed to be blue cheese with wings right. But they were barbeque wings ranch just goes much better with BBQ. I told the waitress and she brought more blue cheese. So I told her it was still blue cheese she apologized. She came back with ranch and u can see how the mix up happened. They are not marked.

Had worst movie experience ever last night! The movie was already 30min late. Then they played the wrong movie. They said they will fix the problem. Another 15 minutes went by and the said we had to move to another theater. Which the movie was already playing in the other theater. It was chaos! I couldnt get a refund because I paid on fandango. Now fandango is saying the movie tavern didnt report an issue. No movie and no refund!!! Worst movie experience ever!!!!!

I was in the middle of the movie I had my light lit for service a server or no one ever came I had to walk out on the movie to find a server then I had to wait for her to come in theater for 10 more minutes after I already waited 30 minutes server took my order my food didnt come to the end of the movie wings were drowned in buffalo sauce I couldnt eat them.food was cold and nastyManger did refund me but told me they were short staff I want ever ever go back that was the third time of horrible service

Went for Star wars, lots of servers that were quick to respond. All dine in theaters are expensive but a enjoyable experience.

Seats were nice and movie sounded good and the screen wasnt too bright... but the service needs work like everyone is saying... to even get a drink I had to push the buttons on my chair and the one to my left and right and alternate between the 3 giving the servers a decent show of lights... i only ordered a drink cuz I ate earlier that night but still tipped the guy $2 on a $5 drink $5 + $2 = $7 drink and then he proceeds to bring me a LRG plastic cup of dr pepper topped with a SM cup size lid that doesnt even begin to cover the top on my drink... my question is... why even put the lid on the drink at all??? I mean your service industry skills must be non existent if thats something that didnt cross your mind... I never write reviews but I was in awe of what happened here...

I was very dissatisfied with the service that I received at the Movie Tavern. We order our food before Bad Boys started and sat thru a 2 hour and 40 minute movie and never got our order. No drink, no nothing. The servers didnt even have the kindness to inform us that they were short staff and that it might be awhile before we got our food. They ruined my first experience there and it will be my last time going there.

First few times of going to this location was nice but then it stopped.Not sure if they have new management or not but now the food is gross and yesterday I took my son to see angry birds but discovered maggots.All I was given was free popcorn and a drink!The movie sucked and so did our experience

I enjoy the reclining seats and food service at the Movie Tavern. It can be annoying when the waiter interrupts (without you calling them) the movie to take dishes or hand you the check. The womens restroom could use some automation and purse hooks in the stalls.

Terrible food. I found what I think was styrofoam in the Bacon Mac and cheese. The beer tastes like it had popcorn butter in it. Served the wrong drinks, twice.The seats are nice and it was clean. I so t recommend eating a meal there. Maybe snack food would be better.

We were so extremely disappointed at Movie Tavern Citiplaces absolute disregard for their customers time and money, and total lack of anything resembling customer service. Apparently they closed early today, due to bad weather. I purchased tickets around mid-day for a 7:50 PM movie. I dont what time they closed but the only weather warnings I know of came in the morning, Ill be even more disappointed if I was allowed to buy the tickets after they knew the shows were cancelled. Either way we did not receive one single notification that they would be closed, not even an email. We bought the tickets online and received an email confirmation, but apparently they couldnt be bothered to even email us that the theater would not be open, much less call or text us. We drove an hour to get to the theater, and by the time we arrived it was too late to go to another theater, all the other showings had either already started or were hours from starting. We have kids and jobs, we cant just stay out all night. This was our first date night in months, and wouldve been the first movie I had seen this year. While there, we even seen an employee show up (Im assuming to work since he was in uniform with a name tag) who was also shocked to find out they were closed. That says a lot about the communication skills of management. Again, just extremely disappointed at the very poor management and handling of this situation and total lack of customer service. The sign said theyd give us a refund, although that does not compensate for our time or gas, or fix date night.

Just left again this is The second time that I’ve been and have been the worse experience ever have order food and drinks was forced to pay up front and movie ended and still no food terrible service terrible experience no staff ruined my day a waste of time and money 2 hours of my life wasted I’m upset. I am appalled.

Its was nice and my food came in a very reasonable amount of time I was impressed. I ordered a shrimp salad and no complaints on that either and the seats were clean.

For the last 2 times I went they gave my popcorn late. The last time I went they completely forgot about my popcorn and I had to remind them 3 times. I didn’t receive it until over an hour into the movie so we didn’t finish it. Should’ve just asked for a refund. They didn’t even apologize. Shittier service than you’d expect.

Movie tavern is a great place to watch movies. Even doe a soft drink is like Six Dollars . Try your best not to buy snack cause trust me they are high as hell

Besides being close to my residence, this is,a nice theater. Even better if you are hungry. Comfy assigned, reclining seats are a bonus. My last visit was for the new Tuesday special: $5 movie, including a small free popcorn!

Consistently TERRIBLE service, and horrible sanitary conditions for more than a year. Not to mention the recent bee and larvae infestation scandal, where an employee reported it, they fired her. Theyve gotten enough chances from me. Never going back to this location.

Movie Tavern was my place too go every time its movie day for me and my family but Friday was horrible! We were told since weve arrived too early we can order our food at the bar& it would be brought too our seat. Im usually 5 mins late for the movie. ME&my family stood at the bar too order we were over look by the manager lizzy she took all CAUCASIAN people order&left us standing there. I had too wait for 10 mins until someone came too us&i informed her about what lizzy did&she said lizzy always does this theyve told other managers about her but no one handle the situation! That was very distasteful&hurtful too me! We didnt get our food until 45 mins later, i talk too another manager and the look on his face let me know that lizzy will not be handle in no way for actions now i have too find another movie place too go.

One of the first to order popcorn an hour later asked the waitress we were waiting on popcorn she said oh it’s probably down there. Well it sure stayed their for another hour I walked down and told the he gave me the cold popcorn. The couple next to us ordered pizza and never received it. We both were comped; however no one apologized NOTHING! Worst service I have every experienced I will never go back to this location. They need new management!!!

This place was awesome. They give you a menu when you arrive. When we arrived in our theater there was someone in there who was waiting patiently to take our order when ready. We ordered our food and it was brought to us. I had the chicken nachos. The serving size was huge and they were fiyah. My husband had the Spicy Korean wings and he loved them. Oh and the seats were comfy as well. Overall, amazing place.

It was horrible. I went with my wife for the first time to see how the experience would be. My wife and waited 30 minutes for someone to take our order (milkshake, pizza, and the hazelnut donuts). I only got the shake and it took them 45 minutes to an hour before we got our food. Thats only because I had to go to management to remind them. My wife waited 45 minutes just to get lemonade. They offered nothing for the inconvenience and it sounded like they even forgot our order. This was the worse experience ever. I will not be going back. And will spend my money else where like celebrity theaters.

I give Movie Tavern 2 stars because I never recieve my change from the waiter ! We ordered food & alcoholic beverages & only recieved the food. I didnt finish the food because it was not up to part I ALWAYS finish my food baby I can eat! The showing of the movie & sound were good. The chairs are so comfy & they recline to your choice. First time going here with my husband & it was not as I expected. I will go back but wont purchase NOTHING off their menu & bring my own food & daiquiri because I love their chairs. Two other couples had problems.. 1 didnt receive NONE of their order & the other couple were missing their deserts.

No ice! No tip.Just wanted a cup of ice with my meal and they refused to give just a cup of ice. Where is it against policy to get just a cup of ice.This will reflect on the servers tip. Never will I come here again.I go to the other location where I was treated well and given what I wanted.

I’ve been here plenty of times. I give them a chance each time to try and get my food right. They never do! It’s always cold. If not cold something else isn’t right. They might as well take ordering while watching a movie OUT! Because it is very useless! They take forever to get to you to order your food and forever to bring it to you. No excuse. Poor service

Today was the first time Ive been to citiplace Movie Tavern in over a year. And let me just say it was awesome! The service was fast the popcorn was delicious, and of course the movie Mary Poppins returns was fantastic!The only problem that I incurred was the gift card that I was using could not be used for the purchase of the tickets that I had planned. But other than that it was a wonderful experience!

It was ok. The food was not that great the 2 times I went but that was a long time ago. Maybe they are better now. But in comparison to other dinner and movie places Ive been to, this was my least favorite. And I was so excited when they built it.

I usually try to see the positive in every situation and I never go out of my way to post negative reviews but the service I had last night was awful. It took forever just to get our server to take our order and then by the time we finally got our food the movie was over and they didn’t give me my drink I ordered with it. This place does have potential but it’s service system has a lot of improving to do, I am not happy with the way they performed and I don’t think I’ll be returning there anytime soon.

It’s very sad because this place has potential to be nice. I have to assume the management is bad. The place is dirty, the menus are gross, the food isn’t good, and we didn’t even get it until the movie was over. We ordered an appetizer!! Luckily they were nice enough to take it off the bill.

Paid $28.00 for the tickets ( 2 people) and $53 for food. EVERYTHING WAS COLD!! The chicken on my sliders, fries.....I feel I wasted my money. If we are paying this much for food atleast make sure it’s hot!! I wanted a refund so bad

Spacious theaters, good audio and video, recliner seats, good maintenance, and as a bonus - service to the seats (with a smile). What else a moviegoer asks for?? I went here for 4 times and had nothing really to complain about. This place is definitely worth for the regular movies. But I doubt about the highly visual effects packed stuff, as I havent found bigger screens here.

If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, eat before you go. The 1 lb plate of lemon pepper wings has over 9000 mg of sodium. Thats not an exaggeration, check their website. 4 people splitting this is almost the daily value for one adult. I personally dont like movie tavern because of what it is known for, the food and drink service during the movie because of the noise and distraction, but on Tuesdays you get a free popcorn and the Movie is five bucks, so thats why I go. The minus 1 star rating is for the menu. What I have had was inedible, but when I had to switch up my intake and looked at their nutrition facts, I found it quite appalling.

Not a terrible experience, but also not the best experience. Seats are comfortable, but there was a wait to get into the theater, and the movie had already started by the time our orders were taken. Quite distracting. To each their own though. I can see how this place could be beneficial to someone who does not want to do dinner and a movie separately.

The waitress gave us our bill and didnt take the money. She then left for the day and not even the manager knew how to close out our bill. They walked around with our card for a good 30 odd so minutes.. definitely not worth it

Took a group of 150 kids plus teachers...Had to bring in chairs. My food order was messed up and no one responded to my call for 1 and 1/2 hours! The manager did rectify. Kids did enjoy Aladdin, though.

Wow! What a terrible experience.It started with the bathrooms. They didnt have any toilet paper in any stalls. They had instead placed napkins in each stall - not friendly and will also destroy the plumbing.I ordered popcorn and mu fiance got the buffalo chicken wrap. I got my popcorn at the start of the movie. Throughout the movie, food slowly trickled in even towards the end of the movie. The waitress brought us our check and we told her that we never got the entree. The waitress told us that it was in the kitchen and asked if we still wanted it - we told her yes.I assumed she was lying and they were just going to remake the dish. I was wrong. It had been sitting for likely the entirety of a two hour movie. She was kind enough to bring a box incase we wanted to take it home since the movie was ending.Never again.

My wife love the recliner chair movie seats ..... but the sound was way too loud.

The movie was great . That food on the other wasnt. I ordered a burger and fries with a water and both managed to come over a hour later cold. Luckily the server refunded my money

I will never go back to this location again ! Second time being at this location and both times were horrible experiences. I called the location over 8 times to ask a question and not one time did someone pick the phone up. I asked the manager about this when i arrived and she stated that they were short handed and the phone comes second. I came with 6 other members of my family for my nieces birthday and nobody with me liked their experience. My sister had to go complain about her experience with the food and she was refunded her money, but other than that i wouldnt recommend this place at all!
