My father and I drove from Wisconsin to hunt at Jelks Bayou Hunting Lodge the week between Christmas and New Year 2017/2018. I am a medium game and upland hunter, but had never hunted ducks or other waterfowl before, my father had been to Jelks the year previous, but otherwise had no waterfowl experience. Andrew was very professional, hospitable and informative to a new duck hunter such as myself. The lodge, restrooms and sleeping quarters are kept clean and comfortable. The lodge has a very homey feel to it which is much appreciated after coming in from a long days hunt out in the cold! Equipment is kept in good working condition and their Wirehaired Pointer, Fritz, is a duck retrieval machine; we enjoyed being in his company a lot! We had a great time and cannot wait to come back! If youre looking for the best duck hunting and overall experience in Louisiana, look no further.
