Interesting and informative. We took our 5 year old and I wouldnt recommend taking small children. All areas require lots of reading, which isnt easy to do with a preschooler on tow. Both employees were very kind. I would like to see a self-guided audio tour made available. Also, a scavenger hunt for children would be a nice addition. Tickets are good for 2 days, but since we dont live in the area, we arent able to use them tomorrow.
So much history of women. Never knew before. Love that you can go at your own pace
Definitely worth checking out. Very interesting.
Want to learn of the long and honorable service of women in the Military? This is an excellent way to not only educate yourself on little known and often overlooked history .. including the women who dressed as men to serve, led their units, were recognized for their bravery and combat as well as surgical skills.Recommend to take children here to help them understand! The one time entry cost is good for 4 museums over 2 days as well!Oh, and you are encouraged to take photos too.
A museum in a time-period house that was moved and donated! I enjoyed reading the facts on the walls, along with all the memorabilia. I felt like I got to meet different women individually with their stories of their own personal civil war contributions. I enjoyed teaching my own two little girls about the trials and tribulations other women went through. Its a little gem thats a must visit!
Amazing exhibit with uniforms throughout all the wars. A great place to tour and brush up on a bit of history. You don’t need hours to spend here, it is a small museum.
Love this place not handicap accessible inside .to many stairs.otherwise great place
Great historical collection
I took my son to Lowes to get some wood to build his jungle gym for the grandkids, we got there kinda late for a Friday night, but they wasnt very busy,.so we looked around for a while before we started gethering up the wood we needed, and it didnt take us anytime at all to find what we needed and get back on the road to home, the workers there was pleasant and helpful, I think it was the fastest trip we made to Lowes and back home . Since they wasnt busy, we was in and out fast.
Very interesting place. The stories from the nurses and doctors to the women who went against all conventionality to fight in the battles. Will definitely be going back again!!
Artifacts of a time gone by laid out in a way you could take your time- not rushed. Pretty cool.
It was prerry awesome learning how much women participated in the civil war. As soldiers, spies, as nurses, doctors, surgeons. Very awesome.
Freedom, Ambitiously And With Warrior Like Strength, Was Clearly Paved By These Amazing Hands. Our Magnificent, Un-Selfish Women Changed Many Of Lives. The Stars Belong To Your Souls. Thanks For Creating A Vision Of Truth. Amazing Feat To Maintain...Well Rounded Property.
Except for needing a bigger sign, everything was wonderfully displayed and explained. It also needs elevator access to the 2nd floor.
Very cool place. A must see museum.
Awesome to see what important roles the women played in the war. I recommend going.
I love coming here. The displays are done very well! Love the Victorian mansion section of the place.its like a step back in time. Good for grammer school age to adults.
Wonderful for the whole family. Wish we had more time. Tickets purchased are good for All museums for two days. Many great exhibits for you to see and more coming soon. The Hal Moore museum is also part of the plan.
Very,very informative,great experience.
The museum was very interesting and showed a lot about our history. If you are going to Bardstown you should take the time to see it.
Interesting kind of like behind the scenes of history
Its a very interesting story of different women involved on both sides of the civil war.
Very simply, a museum. I didnt expect great things, but I was pleasantly surprised! The curator has compiled a great display centered on Women. Other Civil War museums have done many of the same displays but by centering on Women, this one makes the patron reflect on the bravery of our ForeMothers! As a man, I have a tremendous respect for Women that Serve our Country! To do so in our Civil War... and suffering the trivails that said service would have required... These Women are Absolutely Tremendous roll models!
Very interesting for History
Fascinating museum full of wonderful stories of women and their involvement in the civil war
4 stars as the exhibits are really informative. Sis not earn 5 as some of the exhibits were a bit worn and needed some upkeep.
One of the best kept secret museums
Not a whole lot in this part of the museum but a couple interesting items.
Exciting historical educational a great treasure
Excellent displays; I learned a lot.
Loved it. The Director/Robert Llewellyn was so informative and kind. I would go again. I give it a 10....
Nothing you cant learn.online for free. Im pretty sure thats whete they got their info. Low quality ftamed images printed from the internet in one room is the entire women in the civil war collection. Other rooms hold a lot of uninteresting stuff the most amateur historian will have at least a passing knowledge of.
So disappointed that it was not wheelchair accessible but this is still a fantastic museum!!! Loved it!!
Fun place to visit. Did not have enough time.
Near this museum is the main civil war museum; and the historical village. A veterans memorial is also located at the corner of 1st Street - a fitting tribute to the veterans of ww1 to present.
Very informative and interesting.
Very cool museum, if you are interested in history.
The Womens Civil War Museum is under renovation but was able to catch what they had displayed, nicely put together displays. I will be coming back when they have completed their LTG Hal Moore display room.
Very informative and lots of information you never knew. Shows how much women helped during the Civil War.
One would think that An attraction such as this would have its hours that it is open listed somewhere, anywhere online, so a person could make appropriate plans to visit the attraction.
This is a great place to go has a lot of history
Very interesting. Not enough time to look at everything.
Great place to visit and learn about the role women played in the civil war. The house the museum is in is a treasure by itself.
