I love this place. While on vacation we took my kids to visit and it was more than words can say. We first started out at the visitor’s center to plot out a course of action. We soon learned they offer a Junior Ranger Course and my girls were eager to learn. I signed them up and within minutes they were learning about archeology and more. The Ranger’s are truly blessed and really enjoy what they do. They interacted with my children and others with warm hearts. Answering each question and showing examples of the lesson. Professional, kind, and very knowledgeable about what they were teaching. This is my daughter after she finished the class and archelogy lesson. It truly made each child’s day. Thank you so much to all the Rangers for what you do. It was my belief you all went above and beyond to make it special to each kid who participated in the lesson. Your family will truly enjoy it and leave with learning about nature.
Wonderful place! Went for the junior ranger programs and kids had a blast! The 3d map of the park in the visitor center is a must! Expect to spend a few hrs and bring a picnic. Plenty of shade to escape the heat
Rangers Ray and Jason were so extremely friendly and helpful. Beautiful location at Acadia!
Very nicely arranged display. Was quiet and peaceful in the morning.
This is a starting point to a few trails we love including Dorr and Champlain Mountains. Both of those hikes are very challenging. If we have our young kids with us we can take them on the boardwalk and the other easy trails. There are real bathrooms and water fountains onsite.
Very beautiful and encouraging to see the community come together to preserve Acadia National Park.
Beautiful! And so many trails and paths nearby. Dont miss the Jessup path!!
Nice gardens and awesome hikes. Disappointed the museum cost extra though.
Neat place to check out the Flora of Acadia.
Very beautiful. Knowledgeable friendly staff.
The natural gardens, large, old evergreens, and Native American artifacts were well worth the visit.
A few small exhibits there. One very nice topographic display which shows the effects of different phenomenon and systems that was cool. A very small gift shop with some books and patches. The associate gardens were great.
Great trails and plant displays. Mosquitoes are out of control. Area is a marsh
Nice place for a short, easy walk while in Acadia.
Jesup Trail mostly handicapped accessible via Boardwalk with nature over looks from sieur de monts spring visitor center not the trail head.
Nice Indian wigwam! Super interesting!
Very nice trails and environmental center to visit.
Nice little center base for the wild garden of Acadia and the wonderful Jesup trail. That trail is mostly shaded and on board walk so a very easy walk but lovely.
Great place to stop to either rest after a hike or gather information about the area or the trails or the garden.
Such a beautiful place to get away from the hustle of some of the rest of the island. A wonderful little gem. The boardwalk path of Jessup trail starts here and makes a great photo opportunity.
The staff was knowledgeable and answered all our questions about the park beyond the Nature Center area. That helped me skip the crowds in the other visitor centers for any inquiries.
Peaceful
You would surely like this place if you are a fan of nature.
Should not be a fee to enter, as it is located inside the National Park
Lovely route but nothing much to explore other than a stretch of simple walk wd ur love f ur life
Definitely worth checking out! My wife and I saw a trail leading up into the woods and decided to see what was up there... We were NOT disappointed!! Great place for a scenic hike!
Great place to visit in Acadia National Park, the spring was closed for repairs. I hope they open it soon!
Early spring, only a few green things but was peaceful
As far as nature centers go this seemed a bit on skimpy side. Maybe because the gardens are so amazing they dont care to put much thought into the nature center. Definitely thought the authentic wig-wam made with paper birch bark was intriguing. Ranger inside was very knowledgable and helpful.
Knowledgeable park ranger who helped find the trailhead I was looking for. Display in the building was small, basic but informative. I learned about island birds
Nicely organized.
Garden, trails, restrooms . Beautiful grounds free bus to and from.
The cradle of Acadia National Park, this place keeps the history and serenity of the park itself within the shadow of Dorr mountain. Nature walks, the Abbe native american museum, and the wild gardens all give you a lesson on what was and what is in the Park.
Lovely place to visit, very peaceful and great trails to walk for all abilities.
Very informative and friendly staff. Amazing tails.
Was awesome, so much information you can learn about the local vegetation.
Small, but had lots of history.
Daughter did a report in school on this place. Was disappointed we learned more from her then the actual place
A great place to visit.
