CJ was the best coach!We had about 30 minutes to sit and drink at the bar before our throw time so he had to deal with three tipsy women lol. The place is very spacious, ladies room was super clean. Bar prices were normal, not outrageous. Overall, an amazing experience. Cant wait to do it again.

Our instructor Alex was awesome! The place was clean and everything was great. However, Alex really made our time at Urban axes so much more fun! We appreciated everything she did and how fun she was!

This was so much fun! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we had an absolute blast. I used a Groupon to purchase the 90 minutes with instruction. Our instructor was very informative and was able to help me when I couldnt quite figure it out right away.

I went to Urban Axes not expecting much, but it was my sons number one buddys birthday event and I wanted to be there. Turned out to be great fun, and I discovered I have an unknown talent for throwing axes. Who could have guessed? In any case, Matt, our axepert (I don’t make this stuff up), was a great coach and moved the festivities along nicely, organizing and maintaining our matches. Now I’m thinking about joining a league! Who knew.

I had such a great time here for someones party that I decided to have my party here as well. I loved our coach Alex so much that I requested her for my event and once again, she was great!I was allowed to bring in my own food, just not any beverages because they sell them there. You have to bring your own plates and things but its the same as when you have a picnic somewhere. My group of 14 had an amazing time and would definitely do it again!

I loved this! It was alot of fun, and very therapeutic to sink the axes into the target. I went with a group for a friends Birthday, our guide was very helpful and the other staff super nice too. Had a great time trying to improve my swing and score more points, and the fun competition tournament was great.

We went to Urban Axes as a group of six to celebrate a friends 61st birthday - our group was comprised of men & women, ages 24-61. We didnt know what to expect, but thought it would be fun. Well it was a total blast! Jake, our coach, made our experience so much fun. He was patient, supportive and of course, safety conscious. Everyone improved during the course of play. We went next door afterwards to eat and couldnt stop talking about the fun we had at Urban Axes. Well certainly be going again!

This was my second time going to Urban axes, and it was again an amazing experience. Never gets old! You get the adrenaline rush, you get to have fun, make new friends (I attended a fundraiser this time), learn new things from the pro league players. Its amazing place for a group of friends to hand out and chill.

This location is amazing!! We had reservations for a group of six yesterday with Nick. He was so much fun and made sure everyone had a great experience! He began our time teaching everyone how to handle and throw the axe. Once everyone was comfortable, we spent the remainder of our time playing different games. We will DEFINITELY be back!

I have heard a lot of great things about this so I definitely had to come check it out. Did the option where you get to throw for about an hour. They group you with other people so that you can have a friendly competition against them. Our instructor was amazing and gave clear instruction on how to throw and safety. Theres a bar inside ( yes, inside a place for axe throwing) so you can enjoy a few cold beers or some wine. Check out some videos from last night

Who would have thought drinking booze and throwing axes would have been a good mix? However, it was a fantastic outing with our fellow members of the Hemophilia Foundation of Maryland. What a fun and unique adult experience. The coaching staff was very helpful and friendly. Although I wasnt great at throwing the ax and making it stick at first, I did improve with practice and had a great time. I would highly recommend Urban Axes for those looking for something different for their next party or gathering.

I drive over an hour every Sunday to come to the leagues because this place is so great. Sarah is an awesome league coach and the entire staff is super accommodating and welcoming. The league is a mix of experienced throwers and first time throwers but everyone has a great time regardless of skill level. Whether youre looking for something different to do for a date night or hosting a party, Urban Axes is a great option.

Totally give Urban Axe 5 stars. Was at Urban for a group outing, good instruction for us starters, good group tournament along with good food for the outing. Staff was friendly, informative and definitely would recommend for those that want something different to do and get out of those oh him blues. Very fun!!!

We visited on a Sunday which seemed somewhat quiet, but we had a fantastic time! Becs was our coach & she was absolutely amazing at teaching/guiding/adjusting our techniques to get us hitting the target! She really made it a fun first axe-throwing experience for us, and we will definitely be back again!The facility was brightly lit, comfortable & spacious. The bar had a great selection of beers, wines, and sodas, as well as a mead. I love that in the spirit of community, they had beers available from their next door neighbor, Monument Brewing.Again - super fun experience & don’t forget to ask for Becs!

What a unique and interesting way to spend your evening. It can be hard to get out of routines when you live somewhere for a while and axe throwing is not something you do every day. It could have simply been axe throwing and be decent, but Urban Axes has set up a cool facilitiy with great throwing coaches. I suggest going with a big group because they elimination style axe throwing they do ends up being march madness with axes! Will be back many times.

My wife had planned a night out for my 50th birthday and chose Urban Axes. Had a great time tonight at this place. Was extremely skeptical about throwing an ax, but after being taught it’s rather fun and yet a bit of a challenge. Will definitely be coming back.

Urban Axes is a little pricey but it was cool and a fun place to hangout and do something you dont get to do much (throw axes). The coaches were helpful and made it fun by clearly letting everyone know when you were going CLUUUUUUUUUTCH. They also have a nice little bar and theyre right next to a brewery which had a cool event going on when we went that we visited after throwing axes. They should make it more clear that they have a parking lot though (big sign saying Urban Axes Parking this way) because it took me a while to figure out where to go and I had to park on the street before realizing that they have a parking lot.

Whats not to love? Great environment, plenty of beer and wine selections, bring in your own food, helluva time for small groups, all while throwing Axes into wood. Kaisha was an awesome coach, patient and encouraging for our group of first timers. Definitely a great place for a small get-together or birthday party

We went as a newlywed couple to let out some post wedding stress and it was perfect! Great coaches and an absolutely fun experience! (And I have HORRIBLE aim, so if I can do it than you can too!!)

You need to check this place out. Thats pretty much all you need to know, but here are the juicy bits anyway. There is a bar on site, but its also BYOB so feel free to come with a giant cooler full of your favorite beverages.Next, the staff is very nice, and very knowledgeable. They do an excellent job of keeping people safe and making sure everyone is having fun.The atmosphere is amazing with everyone there just having such a great time.Finally join a league here. Seriously just do it. I have met so many great people and have learned so much from everyone here well well worth the time and entry fee for the league.

Sooo much fun! Gage was a great teacher. You spend time practicing, then you get ranked within your group, and finally you 0lay a bracket for the championship. Great local beers and wine. Only downside is there is no kitchen so bring food or order something. Great experience. Cant wait to go bAXE!

So much fun! Excellent & knowledgeable coaches! We had a party of 12 so we had two lanes going at the same time. Everyone got at least 3 practice rounds of 15 throws. The coaches then use those scores to seed you & set up a tournament. Would ABSOLUTELY go back again!

SUCH A FUN PLACE!!! Theyre perfect on balancing safety and fun! Prices are fair and you really learn from an instructor how to throw axes. If you dont reserve AT LEAST 24 hours in advance you/your group will fill a 6 person slot so if theres 3 of you you get 3 other people to join ya.

Urban axes in Baltimore was great! We went for a corporate event and most of us had never thrown an axe before. The staff made even those like me that were nervous feel completely at ease. Their instructors were so friendly, helpful and really wanted everyone to succeed. I highly recommend it, you will have a great time!

A group of 15 of us went here. We did a tournament which unfortunately I didnt win but the staff made it super fun. They do have beer and wine. Safety is big here too. You do need to sign a waiver. I dont know if it would be as fun by yourself but awesome for a group of friends! They do have parking. When locating the parking spot you enter through a sort of gate that says Axe on it so if you dont see the axe its the wrong spot.

Loved this place!!We were group of 26 and had a great time. Taylor, Ijeya and another host gave us instructions patiently and made corrections in our action as needed.I was pleasantly surprised when Taylor noted from other side that I had hit the clutch shot.They could remember our names in that short span and made us have lots of fun.They can serve food from outside for groups.I would recommend this place specially for team events.

Today was our team building activity, Cognate Bioservices, Terry was our coach and we had an AMAZING time!! Definitely will be back for date night and other team building activities! Thanks to Bunny who assisted with planning our event!

Urban axes is conveniently (possibly too conveniently) located next to a microbrewery. Its a place you can throw axes for fun or as it turns out, competitively. Its also stocked with its own bar in the event you needed more beer. Youll get a friendly coach aka safety instructor/score keeper who will take you through the paces and its anyones game, no skills required.Things to note:No cash, all card for axe throwing and the bar.Enclosed footwear required.We saw chicks in heels but its really not recommended. A limited number of enclosed foot ware is provided but dont rely on this.You can book for parties or walk in but walking you may need to check in and then loiter at the brewery for a bit.9. 5/10 would axe again

This place is such a different experience and worth trying! There is a coach assigned to each group that will give throwing tips and keep track of scoring, while giving instruction. There are practice rounds that determine each players position in a final tournament. Then there is a tournament that assigns a game winner. There is a nice mix of down time and playing. On site parking around back which is a huge plus in Baltimore.

Such a great time here. Went with a big group for an event and everything ran so smoothly and you could tell everyone was having a blast. I think everyone was a first timer and the coaches were super friendly, giving their advice and helping out the whole time. The bar was fully stocked and their prices were very reasonable. Cant wait to go back again.

Our group of friends went last night, 8-10:30pm. So much fun, friendly competition and laughs. Craig couldnt have been the better host for our group. 2.5hrs went by so fast when youre having such a good time.

Sidney was the best axe throwing coach! She made our experience (all but 1 were 1st timers) more enjoyable! Great for groups of 5+. Best for groups of 10-20 people. No experience necessary, but it helps! Ill be back!

Awesome place! The experience is a blast. Its not as physically exerting as I thought. Its all about finesse. The staff and coaches are super nice and personable. I highly recommend visiting Urban Aces. Best if you have a group of people and reserve ahead of time.

5 people pay for an hour each as a group. We can only play for 1 hour as a group. If we came individually, we could play 1 hot each for the same price. The math does not make sense to me. On top of that, wine and beer only and not a good variety.

Getting to the space is a bit difficult as it is behind a brewery and down a dark alley. But the space is warm and welcoming. The alcohol selection is amazing and you will have a hard time finding something you wont enjoy. Cody was encouraging and a great teacher. I look forward to returning to the location.

Spent 2 hours throwing hatchets with some friends and had a great time. The instructor was very friendly and gave each of us some personalized advice to help us hone our skill before facilitating a tournament between us. Tons of fun.The bar has quick service and the prices arent any worse than anywhere else in the city.4 stars because the entry price ($35) is a bit steep for what it is, but I would go again if the price were lowered.

Great place for celebrations & meet ups. You can stop in randomly & pay by hour to throw or set up a group event. Both types include an instructor. Each instructor has their own personalities (as opposed to a military like, one side fits all instruction)Theres a bar in Urban axes to enjoy a beer while throwing. They allow outside food, but not outside drinks.You also have the option to grab a drink a monument brewing nextdoor (cannot leave monument with the alcohol)

Great Stress Reliever! Parking is around back on 101 North Haven Street. Youll see a grey building and you turn right then go around back. The instructors are great- they take their time explaining how to throw the axe and what technique you can use.You can also bring snacks. If you bring food like pizza- you must bring your own plates/napkins. They do not supply it!! The bar has different variety of beer and wine. My fav was the Passion fruit Sour. All in all, it was great time. Would recommend to a friend

Wow! I was apprehensive about this as a Fathers Day out but boy was surprised. The staff was cordial, friendly but very professional at the same time. We had a ball! Cant wait to go back. You also visit the Monument City Brewery right next door.

First time axe throwing and I sucked but Jacob made it really fun. There was a guy with an impressive top hat. Bartenders were great. You could tell it was a nice top hat. 10/10 good job everyone

I recently visited with a group of friends and had a blast! The venue was funky and the drink selection was great.I would recommend asking for Coach Matt. He made me feel safe and have fun. His tips were perfectly tiered for everyone in our group.I plan to return again very soon!

Our group of 12 had a blast. A fun team building event offering opportunities for both support and competition. The cost was about $600 total including our bar tab and tips (be prepared that they suggest tipping the instructors 15% or more). Well probably be back!
