Note: Building is temporarily closed due to COVID, all departments are open remotely.Fascinating original campus building that surrounds an outdoor amphitheater, so the building has a U shape. Look at the floor maps on the walls near the elevators for guidance. The Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture Gallery hosts a variety of exhibitions, and the theater is accessible - contact the event coordinator for disability-related questions. The Visual Arts department has several hallway galleries and specialized classrooms. One of the two elevators is being repaired, so plan accordingly, and consult the Accessible Routes map on UMBCs Maps page for accessible path information and options. Several accessible restrooms and an all-gender restroom within the building. The building had some recent renovations, but fully half of it retains its retro...charm?
No elevators ever work. Thats the only reason I dont like this building. Easy access though.
The building itself is confusing. If you are going in for the first time, I would recommend a friend who could help you out. The classes and the inside is pretty good. Although not many comfortable seating is available to sit for hours it is relatively quiet and easy to study in for an hour or two!
This is the only building with mellow yellow in the vending machine***i was wrong. Meyerhoff 030 has mellow yellow also
No stadium classroom just small rooms with not very much outdoor lights.
This place holds some of my earliest memories.
Its where I spend most of my time when Im on campus. Relaxed chill environment.
The building was very clean. Nice seating area and the receptionist(s) were pleasant. My only issue/concern was the balcony. A child had dropped a bottle over the balcony.
Chill place, if youre looking for quiet place to study or relax
Recently remodeled, this building has cutting edge collaborative learning spaces. The regular classrooms are versatile and support traditional and flipped pedagogies. The only draw back is that the layout of the building is still Byzantine.
For building that looks so symmetrical youd expect it to be too, but for some reason it isnt and I dont get it. the handicap route is only on the left side but for some reason not on the right.
Taking classes in this building is a real treat but cell service can be limited in certain classrooms.
Good gallery exhibits and shows here, educational, interesting and unique.
Really great place
Cool place nice scenery!
The old girl needs renovating. The new performing arts building is putting us to shame.
It was amazing university and very easy to find and plain and straight directions
Awesome facility
Its one of the older buildings but it is updated for classes where needed. Elivator is super slow though.
Parking difficult to find. But event had signage around.
Elevators are broken.
Beautiful new building with great acoustics. Green too!
Its just a building. Minus one star because the upper levels are split.
The elevator is slow, its been out for repair lately, the building floors start at 0 and there are art majors everywhere
Dont get it twisted, its still school.
So hard to find and easy to get lost in it
Big campus
Great venue and staff
Contains art students.
Collage
Memories happened in this university
I love UMBC!
Old building, confusing layout.
So confusing to get around. Old.
