My partner and I did the one time experience last weekend and it was pretty awesome! Their glass pieces are amazing and I felt like we got to do A LOT of the work! I’m giving four stars because my instructor (dreads) took it pretty fast and I couldn’t really hear much of what he was saying. I felt a bit rushed like I had a lot people waiting behind me so I was a tad anxious throughout My partner’s instructor (dark brown hair) was reallllly good and he was very patient and easy to understand! I can’t wait to receive our glass pieces in the mail!

We went to McFadden Art Glass as part of a work outing to create our own glass pieces. It was great. All the staff was really supportive and actually made it appear as if we were doing all of the work :-) But, they were there to make sure everything came out beautifully.I made a wine/juice glass. It is probably now the favorite thing in my house. Every time I use it, I marvel at how beautiful it is (and to think that I had a little to do with it).I also bought a pitcher and glass set for my niece for Xmas - it was incredible. She loved it.Definitely 5 stars from me!

This place is so awesome. You get to go watch glass making by a team of artists, its mesmerizing. They talk and teach you about the process, meanwhile you get to watch, drink & eat (if you choose). Then, after about an hour you can make your own piece. You spend about 2-3 hours there if you choose to make the piece, and while you wait you get to watch others make glass art which is fun, all while socializing with your friends/family. Ive made a glass bulb, a pendent, & wine glass.Great atmosphere with people who really enjoy what they do. Its a nice intimate way to get out, be social and watch something really cool. Highly recommend, I cant wait to go again.(if you go in the summer, it gets HOT, dress appropriately)

Ive always been interested in glass blowing. On a late Sunday morning a couple weeks ago several of my staff from our dental office met at McFaddens glass studio. We had a few hours together making various glass bowls, cups, ring holders and other articles. You are also in charge of the colors and combination of colors for your project. There is a good selection of glass items you can make under the supervision of very capable artist/ teachers. You are hands on!It was a wonderful experience. It gets a little warm near the ovens but fans blow the heat away and you dont notice the heat while youre creating your masterpiece. I am going to return with my family soon. I cannot imagine anyone not thoroughly enjoying this experience. Your instructors know their craft and know how to help the novice without taking over. They were real gentlemen.Once all is finished in the studio you enter the office where a dazzling display of art covers walls, shelves and floor. Even the bathroom sink and faucet was a cascade of glass tubes and bowls. Prices for purchase are reasonable and I believe each of us left with a glass piece. In 2 days you can pickup your creation and wow does it look great. If you are looking for an experience for family or friends, you will be creating memories of you spend some time at McFaddens. I loved it.

I can not say enough about how great our experience was here! We went for date night. Neither of us can believe how hands-on the experience was. I think we both assumed that we’d be barely involved, considering how testy molten glass is, but our instructor Julian made sure we were pertinent to the creation of our pieces. The demonstration was great and so entertaining. If you’re considering going for a date night, I cannot stress enough the importance of arriving early! The sooner you get your name on the list, the sooner you’ll be making a project. Plus, you DONT want to miss the demonstration. We can’t wait to come back!

My company held our holiday party at McFadden this past weekend. Everyone had amazing things to say, and we dont expect this to be our last time visiting. Each staff member was friendly, fun, personable, helpful, patient, professional, and more than willing to accommodate us. We had a few small children with us and they were GREAT in assisting them and making the process fun. We were hesitant about how the dynamic would be if only a few people can make their glass pieces at the same time, but everyone enjoyed watching the complex, fast-paced process and watching what everyone was making. Thanks McFadden crew!

We had a fantastic experience at McFadden’s. We emailed them to arrange a workshop for the 2 of us, and they were stellar from that initial contact to receiving our glass creations in the mail. What a quality group of folks. When we arrived, we got to choose what we wanted to make. We were given a safety rundown, and then we were introduced to Tim who guided each of us through the steps of creating our individual projects. Tim was really fantastic. What a way with people. He was this perfect combination of hands-on, and allowing you to participate as much as possible in the process. We were thrilled, and we’re looking forward to returning next time we’re in Baltimore.

This place was a ton of fun. The staff was fun and curtious. It was really easy and the wine glass and flower we made turned out perfect. We went with a group, which Id suggest, as it was fun watching lots of different pieces being made. The bar next door gives you access to food/drink while you wait your turn to make a blown glass art piece. Which leads to my only complaint - the wait. It was almost 4 hours between my wifes turn and mine. We were told that if you have a group of 8 or more, you can schedule a day/time and not come to the open to the public times, which would make it a much quicker experience.

My partner and I went here for their Halloween workshop. $50/person with a group of about twenty or so folks. We each had about 20-ish minutes hands-on with an instructor and got to make our own glass pumpkins with whatever colors they had on-hand. Their were several stations and it was so fun watching everyone that we were never bored. In-fact when it was time to go, we were sad and wanted to do more! They also had munchkins, coffee, and cider out which was a very nice touch for those waiting and sitting on the little two-level bleachers.Pros: Extremely helpful and friendly staff who take the time to explain and show all the steps. Awesome show room on the first floor of the adjacent home.Neutral: They were VERY hands-on while youre working. Some may consider this controlling. Some may WANT the ability to be creative, or experience the chance of failure. My thought is they wanted you to a.) Come out with an actual pumpkin and not a blob! and b.) ensure your safety in a larger group of people. They have private lessons if you ask!Cons: Time flys by too fast. Have to wait 48 hours to pick up pumpkins. (But they ship!) No instructor demo. (It would have been great at the end to have the option to stick around and see the instructors make something a bit more technical or involved than our simple pumpkins to show off their skill!)

Heres a suggestion...get someone who can hear the paying customer! The woman who assisted us weeks ago during our session was just OK, but these guys literally had paying customers walking out with their lack of customer service. Utterly horrible. We sent an RSVP email for the Saturday workshop, as requested on the website. Never got a response, but we went anyway. Same with another couple who arrived about the same time. Advertised every Sat. from 3 to 6. When we showed up, the four of us were completely ignored by the proprietor for a solid 45 minutes as he helped some girl make a bowl.No problem, we thought; well sit and watch and wait our turn. I started to have doubts when, despite the huge and nasty looking cold sore on his mouth, McFadden blew into the tube to start a glass bubble and then passed it to the girls boyfriend to keep blowing. But hey, various communicable diseases are a small price to pay for a pretty awesome bowl, amirite? After almost an hour of waiting patiently, the other couple asks when we can get started, and he announces, without a trace of apology, that hes closing because he has a hockey game to get to. Very important. Unfortunate that you all came all this way. But come back some other time.So yeah, unless your idea of a fun afternoon is wasting a bunch of time and getting the mouth herp, you might want to steer clear.
