I had the pleasure of working with Gallery Blue Door when they first opened. I was overly impressed by their professionalism as well as their engagement and passion for artists and their work. I recently had an exhibition at Gallery Blue Door and can say that it was one of my most memorable experiences. They were actively involved every step of the way and handled every detail with care. It’s an experience I wish I could do all over again. Also, their gallery space is a must see! Its beautiful and retains its historic charm.
Part of a recent trend of private residences that offer public art exhibitions and events, this exciting new gallery in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore shows powerful work by some of the areas most impactful contemporary artists. Each exhibit features work by one or two artists for approximately one month, with a special public event at the opening and closing of each show. (Additional viewings are available by appointment.) The brainchild of artist and filmmaker Scott Phillip Goergens and his husband Scott Howard, the gallery shows approximately 12 artists per year, including at least one show per year of Goergens imaginative, bizarre, and utterly charming paintings. For current news and information about the gallery and its shows, visit the Gallery Blue Door page on Facebook.CORRECTION: The gallery currently shows SEVEN artists per year. Thanks to Gallery Blue Door for catching the error, which I regret. :-)
Really cool space that highlights the history of the building while still being modern and unique. The last reception I went to had an excellent flow to walk around and view all the artwork, which was beautifully lit. Cant wait for the next show!
Working with Gallery Blue Door on my current solo exhibition has been terrific! Had a sensational and lively opening reception on June 29th and I am excited to work with them going forward!
