Been getting tattoos from Joe for a while now and have always had a good experience. Had my knees, whole lower right leg, ribs coverup, arms etc done by him. Great at color, highly recommend.Wish I had more pictures but these are all I could find.

Just got a tattoo there! Amazing! Amazing artist and great atmosphere. All around the exact experience you’d want for your first tattoo. The guys super friendly and patient, with a bunch of skill packed in!

Was recommended to Darl by another tattoo artist when I told him that I was looking for a tattoo in the style of trash polka. Great guy, fun store, awesome artists. If there is a style of tattoo that you are looking for and one of these guys do that style, you will be getting a *fine* piece of art.

Got a tattoo from Joe and unfortunately really regret it. I felt locked in to getting this tattoo because of the cancellation policy ($200 cancellation fee on top of the non refundable $100 deposit, which costs more than the tattoo itself. Only way our was with a “good reason” so if you decide you want to wait on getting your tattoo after setting up an appointment you are stuck.) Also, Joe seemed to disregard what I told him about my design idea, and even drew the initial sketch on me based on a picture he found, not any of the ones I send him. He was opinionated and seemed to want to do my tattoo idea his way, and even drew extra on me to show me how I could further the tattoo in another session, when I had made it clear I wanted just what I told him. The tattoo came out very different than anything I showed him or what I wanted, and I was extremely unsatisfied and could do nothing about it. He didn’t even finish a part I had made clear I wanted to add to when he initially drew it on me (it was partner of the whole tattoos overall design). Then, when we finished and he asked me to see what I thought I brought up the part I wanted added to again, and he said “wear it for a while”. The rest of the shop seems nice, and it is a clean and welcoming place. I even went with a friend who seemed to have a more positive experience, but also agreed Joe was a little overbearing. Just wish my experience went better with Joe.

I wish there was a way that I could rate Wolf and Charmed Life Studio as MORE than 5 stars because of my amazing experience. I was especially appreciative because I had a not so great consult at another tattoo studio in Maryland. I was feeling doubtful that I would find my dream artist to work with because the first person I saw (at the other place) made me feel like my ideas were too much and not possible. Luckily before I gave up, I saw Wolfs art on the Charmed Life Website and thought he might be a great match. Sure enough, in less than 24 hours, he emailed me back with an excitedly detailed response inviting me to set up a consult with him. I was already pleased at that point without even meeting him, because the last place I went did not show NEARLY the same amount of enthusiasm. So then I have my consult with Wolf...and any frustration or doubt I had from my last experience was immediately alleviated. Wolf was everything I was hoping for from a Tattoo artist. That is WHY I wait to get tattoos, because its more than just ink on my skin for me....its about finding a person who creates art that matches my aesthetic and connects to art in a way that I relate to. Wolf is that. Exactly that. He understood my vision, he was open to my somewhat scattered ideas, and he pulled it all together into such a beautiful piece. I had zero edits....ZERO! people. He is incredibly talented and I feel so fortunate to have found him and Charmed Life Studios. I will absolutely go nowhere besides Wolf at Charmed Life for all my tattoos.

All the artists are incredible. Each have their own style, but all are highly capable to meet anyones needs. My artist is Wolf and he is a machine!

Google had the NERVE to ask me how Charmed Life Gallery was. Like Im not here every other week. I f*****g love this place, need I say more.

I got an original work done by Wolf here. I was referred to him by Tony - shout-out to him! - and the whole experience was excellent. This was my second tattoo. I told Wolf what I wanted the subject to be and showed him a couple examples of the style I liked and he came up with several options for me to choose. He showed me each of the needles in their packaging and with their expiration dates, and I felt like everything was very sterile, especially considering everything was wiped down with alcohol in front of me. They charge $200 an hour, with a $50 deposit that you take off the top of the final fee. Ill be visiting again when Im ready for another tattoo!!

I love this place!!!! Since Charm Life has tattooed me I have not gone anywhere else. They are not only Tattoo Artist, they are Artist as well. They throw Art shows on also. Art that is beautifully drawn from them and other Artist. They enjoy tattooing people and they love what they do. All of my tattoos that I have were done at Charm Life Gallery & Tattoo Studio.

I don’t know why there are any negative reviews on here, at first I thought I was about to review another shop with the same name. Matthew did my tattoo of an unalome on my rib area today, it looks great and he was very understanding that this is my first tattoo and made sure I was comfortable and asked how I was doing multiple times during the process. Joe did ky fiancees tattoo of an album cover on his thigh, it looks fantastic! They greeted us right away, were friendly the whole time. Yes it is a little pricey but do not cheap out on something that will be on your body forever. Thank you to the guys at Charmed Life for giving us a great experience and my first tattoo!

Getting work done from Joe and its been a blast so far. Down to earth guys who are very easy to talk to (Mike and Daryl included) the place is clean as a whistle and the hygiene is top notch. I hear people say it isnt cheap...the fact that your looking for discount tattoos is a big indicator that maybe you shouldnt get one. I came here because of the reviews so here is another one written by a very satisfied customer.

Love this Darl Gnau original. A trash polka masterpiece conceived and tattooed by Darl. It took less than 10 hours in 2 marathon sessions. He is a true pro and his studio is clean, comfortable and beautiful.

Was just there yesterday. Mike was very professional through the entire process. He did a beautiful cover that many others wouldnt touch. Extremely clean shop! I felt very comfortable there. This is a shop I would return to! Cant say enough good things! My artist suggested things to help cover my old tat, and took my suggestions as well. He was very patient with my questions. I had a cover up done there about 7 months ago and I never told anyone how amazing it turned out!!! I cannot stop looking at all the detail and color and effort he put in to allowing me to have such a masterpiece on my body. It was a lot of work and the prices were fair. They were extremely professional and clean, clean, clean!!

Terrible service, walked in the front room was not greeted and waited ten minutes before anyone came out. Didn’t ask if we needed help instead helped someone else and then went to the back room and never came back. 10 mins later he comes back saying “you didn’t say anything” god awful and unprofessional.

It is a clean and professional environment giving you the ultimate experience. Once you start art here you will never go anywhere else. The gallery part of the shop is only a plus to the experience.
