I love the blue fresh water and the animals. I spent awesome 3-4 hours in there. Moon jelly fish is my favoriteTicket is a little pricy ($39 for adults) but when we think of sea creatures and their life care, I feel it is worth the charge that we spend for their maintenance. The steps taken to maintain social distance and hand sanitizer stations everywhere is very awesome during COVID.About the parking the website provides us with 2 options and if we park there the ticket cost can be validated by the Aquarium people with $10 discount. The garages which they suggest will charge you $25 for 2 hours and $29 for upto 12 hours. It costed me $19 for 4-5 hours which is not bad. Please do visit the shark 4D for additional $5 which is just amazing, but due to COVID the water sprinkler is not working.
This place blew my mind. From the outside looking in it doesnt look like much. After you enter the door and began you tour you cant believe how much they have in what appears to be a small area. If you are thinking about checking this aquarium out, I highly recommend doing it. It will not be disappoint you.
Wow, I have been to the aquarium a few times before, but really wow. My pandemic experience at the aquarium was amazing. Like having the entire building to myself. No lines, no crowds, and everyone there was there to answer your questions. Thank you to all the workers there who put up with my children and me asking a million questions. What a beautiful place to visit.
I love this place so much! Everyone was so nice, and one of the staff spent time with us to answer every single one of my questions. I didn’t catch his name but was a really amazing guy! Wish there was better parking because the garages were super expensive but overall it was an amazing aquarium.
Loved it. Gotten some tickets from a friend who couldnt go. We bought a few more tickets when we got there and got to see it with the kiddos, hubby and my aunt and uncle. There are restrooms, 2 gift shops, a photo booth. And tons and I means tons of marine life and some other animals sprinkled throughout it. The set up is a little weird right do to covid. You follow the golden fish stickers on the floor throughout the entire aquarium. They give you a stylist to touch the screens. Up, down, up and down. Stairs, elevator stairs and ramps. We sat for a bit to rest to see the dolphins play.
$20 worth spent. Really enjoy everything there and they have everything. I don’t know how many times I thought this is it then some other things popping up to see again. Clean, nice display, beautiful aquarium, informative and interactive signs. I love the giant fish tank that you can walk down from the top floor to the bottom, very cool. Would definitely come back if we’re in Baltimore again. People at all ages will enjoy this.
Easily killed three hours and was entertained the entire time. Went well above my expectations. Unfortunately due to Covid we couldn’t touch or see a full Dolphin show BUT still had a good time . Only thing why isn’t there a discount in place to accommodate these restrictions? Ijs
I did a photo shoot there a few months ago, and that was literally my first time inside that building in 30yrs. Since I was there for business I didnt get to indulge in stuff. But I was in there for 2hrs and I probably had more fun than my daughter. They did a good job having hand sanitizer before you leave an area. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. With so many places closed due to Covid, I suggest them as a safe place of entertainment.
Love the aquarium! They are taking safety measures with temperature checks, wearing masks, and sanitizing stations, as well as spacing out times of entry. Great activity for a rainy day
We had a great time there even with the covid bs and the were kind enough to allow our service dog to enter once we provide the proper information they allowed us to enter the employees we very kind and helpful
This is an absolutely awesome and breathtaking aquarium with tons of unique exhibits to check out! I came here with my boyfriend and we both had so much fun looking at all of the exhibits and learning about various aquatic creatures and habitats! Some of our favorites were the Jelly Invasion jellyfish exhibit, the Sharo Alley exhibit, the Amazon exhibit, and the Rainforest exhibit! They also have dolphin shows, we unfortunately didnt get to see one, because we came too late, but we did get to see the dolphins swimming around! They also usually have ray and jellyfish touch exhibits, but these were currently only open for viewing due to COVID19 precautions. They also have a very nice, streamlined one-way traffic through the museum, which they set up for COVID19 precautions, but which we actually really enjoyed because it ensures you see everything in the museum! Overall such a great experience, and we cant wait to go again!!
Amazing place. I was on vacation and this aquarium was first in my plans. I loved every minute i spent here and to be completely honest looking from outside it doesnt seem to be a big aquarium but it is bigger than you can assume by just looking at it. Loved every minute of it!!
They operate at 25% capacity. There’s not really any true social distancing once inside but they have markers on the ground. Everyone wears masks and there’s temperature checks. It’s up to you to move away from groups looking at exhibits. There’s hand sanitizer after ever exhibit which is nice. There’s no dolphin show but you can watch them play from a distance.
The greatest and most fun we and the kids just had. The dolphins, the jellyfish were a highlight but one I he volunteers, Lori at the Maryland exhibition went out of her way to make our visit special. What a gem this place and imes flies by.
Lots to see, we loved it, a few things were closed from C19, like no jellyfish petting etc, but huge variety. Kids loved the interactive screens that told them about certain fish. Its fairly large and awesome to see the fish up close. They have a whole room of jellies and many different turtles- which were our favorites.
Really enjoyed this expansive aquarium, especially the large “open water” designed area that you can view from multiple levels. The different species were beautiful and we spent about 3 hours in total going through everything. Staff have done a good job with signage, one-way routing, staggering of visitors, temperature checks, and hand sanitizing stations to make you feel pretty much at ease through your visit. Hands-on activities and shows are cancelled until further notice understandably due to Covid concerns. All in all well worth it.
This is one of the most beautiful aquariums I have ever been too. There is so much diversity and themes. You can easily get caught up here for a min of 3 hrs. They do a great job making sure everything is disinfected and clean. With everything time blocked and organized, its very easy to maintain social distancing
Lovely place. Big one. U need at least 3 hours to visit this place. For school going kids v informative.
This place is so amazing, you could spend hours here, and not see everything. Definitely a family activity
My family and I enjoyed ourselves lets start there! There was no way to social distance at All we were arm to arm trying to see exhibits! Each area had more than the allotted spacing if it werent for us already paying we would have left.. Everybody going one way to see the same things. Secondly we had to carry our belongings because the lockers are out of use. Didnt like my experience this time during COVID.
Wow, this place is amazing. As a part of a homeschooling family their membership program is great. So much hear to keep you occupied for frequent visits and in a great setting. Nearby parking and safe access. Staff is amazing and helpful. Additionally, they safely handle the Covid situation and its less crowded than normal with entry times. Highly recommend!
Its not my favorite aquarium, but it was still really good. The staff however, was wholly unconcerned with enforcing any mask rules or social distancing guidelines. Id love to go back under less hazardous circumstances, but given the lack of enforcement Id steer clear of I were you.
Just went there today and was it great! They have the tour set up as a one way. You walk passing through all the sections. Once you leave a section you cannot return so it reduces the the volume of traffic. All the animals were great. With low lighting they use, you almost feel like you are in the ocean with them! While it is a bit pricey, I think it is worth it. A great experience all around.
I live in Maryland and consider the aquarium a treasure for our state. Having said that, I would not recommend going on weekends during Covid-19. We thought with timed entry and operating at 25% capacity (hard to believe) that it would be safe enough to keep separation from other groups. This was not the case. Timed entry means that up to 100 people are let in every 15 minutes. Once inside its a free-for-all as far as moving about which was scary since most people acted like it was just a normal day at the aquarium. Most of the time was spent with my head on a swivel and moving away from groups that would just come right next to you while looking at each display.
This place is fantastic. They bought some of the magical ways of the ocean inside for us to explore and learn about. We spend 3 and half hours and saw it all, well almost all, we didnt get to see the octopus who was hiding. This is a must visit experience even if its just you by yourself youll enjoy it. The fishes are so beautiful to watch so many different sizes, shapes and colors. We saw the sharks, dolphins, stingers, jelly fishes, and we even saw monkeys! The experience was fascinating.
Went to the aquarium on 10/10/20. One of the best aquariums Ive ever been to but unfortunately capacity was doubled a few days prior according to the staff I spoke to. The exhibits were packed to the brim. No social distancing possible. Patrons were shoulder to shoulder throughout and masks were poorly enforced. Im no Karen but I was concerned and I work in a hospital
Had a wonderful experience! For fathers day my wife got me the Aquarium Dive. Took a little class for a certification. Best part of the dive actually was walking through the Aquarium with my wet suit and gear. It felt like the scene in The Right Stuff everyone was staring and in awe of all us. The dive itself is cool, not very big a much smaller area and tank. They encouraged us to interact with the people that we looking in. Since the fish are so used to people they would swim right up to you. Very cool. You can even pick up the sand and let it fall down to the ground and the fish would come up and lay underneath it. I was told it was like a massage for them. Anytime you did it, the fish would swarm to you. My kids loved being able to see me in the tank. Its not the biggest aquarium but lots to see and well done. Great staff. In a very popular area with lots of places to eat and check out. I would highly recommend doing the dive or just visiting it. You cant go wrong, for a fun and exciting day.
Had a great time. Took about 2½ to 3 hours to walk through and enjoy the aquarium. Even with the dolphin show, 4D theater, touch exhibits closed it was still a great experience. The walking path was simple and the staff was very friendly.
It was great, they check temperature upon entry, and if youre temperature is too high you can use your tickets on a different date. The exhibits are awesome as usual. Theres now a jellyfish exhibit that I had never seen before. Simple yet very visually striking and interesting, excellent design.
Fun place to visit during covid and they still had staff that told you what the animals are like. Very friendly thank you again Cindy for getting us our tickets and your kindness.
Definitely nice to start doing “normal” stuff like this again. We came in first thing on a Friday morning and the place was empty. Was able to do the whole aquarium in about 75 minutes. Arrows and ropes to keep the flow moving in one direction. Will be back again soon.
Hella fish, exhibits are really nice and so much to see. About 3 hours of content if you take a minute per exhibit and they have a rainforest area thats really cool. Covid means the 4d theater isnt on anymore but the one-way tour they made because of it really helps to streamline everything. Had a lot of fun with my family.
I loved this place. It was beautiful. Many different species of fish and reptiles.
Incredible Aquarium and despite there being no dolphin show because of covid restrictions it was still an amazing experience.
Sharks, dolphins, and all usual animals were available to see which was great. Still seemed to be a bit of a crowding issue. It seemed like that would be remedied since you have to pick a time slot with your tickets and they said it would be 25% capacity. But there was still crowding everywhere, and people going back and forth, and there didnt seem to be any less people than the usual, pre-covid, mid-day on a Friday. It was still a good experience, but I feel there should be a better way of enforcing the social distancing and capacity limits.
SUCH a fun experience! I went during the week and it was pretty empty! Super exciting experience for little kids and adults!
Although some of the attractions like dolphin shows, 4D movie theater, are not open due to Covid, everything is now re-arranged so that you can follow the path and see everything the aquarium has to offer. That is enough to easily spend about 1.5 to 2 hours of time with your family. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Our kids loved it.Before you exit, if you used one of the nearby parking lots dont forget to get a discount. Just ask a person at the exit and they can add that to your parking ticket.
The Aquarium is huge it have a large assortment of Sharks and Sea Animals I loved the Dolphins they put on there own show due to no show because of Covid #19 Great family atmosphere they also have a beautiful tropical forest for the birds
It was a bit crowded but I did like each exhibit. I understand with covid the experience was very different than it has been in the past. Everyone had to follow the same path single file as if in grade school. I couldnt enjoy it like I wanted because certain exhibits I wanted to spend longer at but couldnt because people were waiting behind me as well as in front. I got a bit anxious that alot of people didnt adhere to the mask requirement nor the 6ft apart requirement.
Awesome aquarium! There were so many different species of marine life. They had a couple of monkeys and sloths also! They even have dolphins. The staff were extremely informative in every room we went in. They are doing a great job with all of the new changes that covid has brought. The atmosphere was beautiful and cant wait to go back!
Amazing place for see ocean animals... Have a Australian section, a Amazon part... You can see sharks... Jellyfish..dolphins and too much more.Nice store for kids.
Love this place!!! It was a lil packed but had a great time!
It was my first time my son took me to take it off my bucket list it was wonderful weve been with the covid-19 we had to stay six feet apart but it was wonderful experience
Was awesome. In awe of all the different species they have. Wasnt too packed nice Sunday in downtown Baltimore.
Its a great place to visit. We had a great time. It was self guided due to social distancing. We loved the layout and was fun for my 6 to my 16 year old.
Great place to show lots of cool marine animals. Family friendly with a dolphin show near the end. Kids will love it!
Amazing display of marine life! The only thing I was disappointed with was the dolphin exhibit. I guess theyre not doing shows due to Covid, but with the limited number of people they are letting in at different time slots and requiring masks, I dont see why they cant do shows since the space is so huge. I appreciate the precautions they are taking though, so even though I was a little let-down, I am still giving five stars. They also check temps before you are allowed in and hand sanitizer is everywhere.
One of the best aquariums Ive been to and Ive been to a handful. Its a bit pricey, but once you enter, youll see why. Its beautiful and well maintained. Definitely a top visit if you come.
Just beautiful all the animals oh my gosh the rainforest was gorgeous
This would have been a 5 star review if not for the 4d theater and dolphin show being closed due to Covid. What a beautiful aquarium! The rain forest on the top floor was the highlight for me. Got to see my first sloth. A great trip for our family, especially on such a dreary day.
The National Aquarium is great family event. It is modern, educational, and well-maintained. There are shows and there are several exhibits designed for children to get there hands into the water and feel the sea creatures. It is worth the effort to see.
Had the BEST experience at the Baltimore Aquarium today. The staff was super polite and friendly when it came to implementing their new policies involving mask wearing and social distancing. The policies themselves were highly efficient and well thought out, and made me feel much safer as I toured the BEAUTIFUL facility. The creatures were amazing, as to be expected, but it was the professionalism, kindness, and energy of the staff that impressed me most. Definitely a must if in Baltimore visiting!
I love coming back to this place. Covid-19 hasnt changed that; but added in a couple of interesting tidbits. Hand sanitizer and masking signs are everywhere here and honored in high regard. The only thing I didnt see was social distancing. This place was absolutely slammed. If you tried to social distance others from behind cut in front. It is what it is but food for thought, go at your own risk. We will def be back tho. The staff and animals all appeared in good spirits despite the current pandamic.
First time coming here and couldnt really enjoy the full experience. Due to the virus they dont hold any shows, you have to keep your distance which in this case there were quite a few who broke that rule and theres not much to do there other than walk around looking at fish and birds. They were all cute though! Overall I give it a 3 out of 5 due to the lack of shows and the price point for what you get. However I will definitely come back when things get better and get to see the shows!
Great for a family daytrip. Located in harbor, which is a nice an picturesque location with many places to eat and other attractions.
This is not my first time here, but wanted to do a quick review after my visit today. ALL the staff I had interactions with were super friendly! One gentleman in particular was very knowledgeable in every exhibit we met him in. Employees manage different exhibits throughout the day and Robert was super helpful! Even a question I had asked he admitted he didnt know the answer, but when we met him again later in the day, he sought out the answer to my question and told me. We were impressed immensely with his dedication to customer service and could clearly see his love for his job and all the creatures at the aquarium. I recommend the dolphin feeding show at 1130am if you want to see the dolphins demonstrate their incredible abilities. It will be a sad day and great loss to the aquarium and the guests when they say goodbye to the dolphin amphitheatre. They are currently in a sanctuary home relocation program for the dolphins to release them into the wild. Their current environment is all they have ever known and I personally dont think it would be in the best interest of the dolphins to move forward with the sanctuary program. All the employees I spoke with feel the same way. The oldest girl they have is 27yrs old and the life she has lived so far has been under their controlled environment. Great place to visit as you will have a full day of education for just yourself or the entire family!
Great place to visit. Multiple parking garages right around the area. The inner harbor is a great place to hang out afterwards. They are doing a great job during COVID to keep everyone safe and make it enjoyable still. So many exhibits to see, all in great condition. Kid friendly. Also a really good price point, and children 2 and under are free. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful aquarium! So many exhibits! Handling the new post-covid operations nicely.
This is an amazing center with well informed and helpful employees. Like many of us, I am on a budget so I was hesitant to spend the money to come here. However it was fully worth it and probably the highlight of the summer for my family! They have so many exhibits that are presented in a creative way. We will be back next summer for sure!
Lovely experience. Prices a little bit high. There is this huge sea turtle, and a bunch of different sharks that will amazed you. The jellyfish exhibition is wonderful. Didnt have anything to eat so no comments on that. The staff is awesome, polite and always willing to help you. A place that you certainly like if you love animals.
Wonderful aquarium. Nicely laid out for the covid crisis. Excellent exhibits. I had a great time there. The people working there were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. They seemed genuinely happy to see all the people visiting.
This place was a lot of fun even with the covid procedures it was still a lot of fun. My kids loved the sharks and dolphins. Just be aware that you cant bring strollers in so bring a baby carrier to wear them if they cant walk yet.
Reasonable accommodations during this time such as masks and stylus so you can still use the information kiosks. Directional signs and many employees around to ask questions or guide you along. Stop and go turnstyles to place traffic. There is still much to see and the dolphins are still playing on there own. The jelly fish and stingrays exhibits had someone there to tell you about them. You couldnt touch but you got very close and had great info with the visual. Gift shops are open and a snack bar. Sanitizer everywhere. Timed entry. Buy tickets ahead and walk in or buy on site. The kids and adults in my group had a great time.
It was very interesting. Definitely worth the trip here. A family friendly place. Loved the experience
Guided for social distancing, though some patrons took mask off/lowered below noses. Exhibits all still great and open, minus some of the interactive ones.
Had a wonderful experience here. The Aquarium had a guided flow (due to covid-19) through each section which turned out to be a nice way not to miss anything. Everyone was friendly. I would recommend the membership if you plan on going more than once. It just makes sense to do it, and you are supporting the aquarium!
Dollar Days at the National Aquarium. I haven’t been to the aquarium in several years. It was good to go and experience it again. I felt like a kid again. It was crowded because of the great deal! I’ll definitely make this an annual experience for me and my kids. They enjoyed it. Great for all ages. And of course so much to do in the area, shopping, food and scenery. They even significantly discounted parking. Instead of $29, I paid $10!
Too much expensive. And staff is very rude to visitor. Due to COVID-19 they are not playing Dolphin Show as well. That is the main attraction and if they do not want to play that show then why taking too much money.
Go! Its a must. A little pricey since the dolphin show wasnt happeing. And I would have loved to be able to sit and watch them play even if not an actual show but I loved it all! Set up is perfect for social distance plenty of hand santizer.
Loved it so much we bought memberships. If you’re going more than once it’s with buying the membership.Big reef with lots of rays And sharksDolphins were greatReally nice jelly fish areaLove the dart frogs and rainforest Area
Wonderful aquarium, but more expensive than worthwhile - almost $40/person, so my husband and I were $80. That, plus good parking was almost $30, totalling an expense of $120, which doesnt include meal, gas, whatever other expenses you may have in downtown Baltimore. Homeless people everywhere downtown makes for some awkward moments as well. So seeing aquatic pictures is just as good and sometimes better, especially during covid-19. ALSO, beware that strollers are confiscated and not allowed inside. Not very toddler- and infant-friendly for a place that seeks to attract kids.
You cant bring a stroller. I have a 7 month old. I had to cancel my trip to the aquarium. It is very difficult to carry a baby in my arms and even on my back for that length of time. A tour is 2 hours long. If you are a mother like I am and believe this disappointment is understood.
Great variety of of animal life. Hand sanitizer stations were widely available. takes approximately 2 hours to view everything at a leisurely pace. Would have been 5 star but it is a bit pricey at about $40 per adult
Very nice, I recommend. Staff were friendly and helpful. Covent safety,
LOVE IT!! It is HUGE! So ENJOYABLE! Such a great place to make memories and have the little ones learn while seeing their face light up!!
Because of the pandemic the lines were short, and i.like how they have a one way pathway. This way everyone is at a distance. Theodore allow strollers, but they have a service area where you can store your stroller. So if you bringing a 1 year old a kangaroo will be a great idea. The place is clean and the view is amazing, and there are a lot of restaurants around. My family and I definitely enjoyed it.
I always love going to the National Aquarium. They are now using tickets based on time intervals in order to allow for social distancing. Although most people inside didnt really observe the 6 foot space interval, it was not crowded so we were able to enjoy. Looking forward to my next visit.
No matter if you live in Baltimore or are just visiting, definitely add the National Aquarium on your list to visit. We loved this place the first time we came. What a cool and fun experience!! The entire family was able to enjoy the Aquarium. There is a lot to see here, so if youre not able to devote an entire day, I highly recommend making time to come back. We asked for year passes for Christmas, so were going to be regulars here. Very family friendly, no matter the age. 5 of 5 stars for sure.
Went here for my 2 year old son and he absolutely LOVED it. He had such a good time, which made me have a great time. So many different animals and attractions. And the staff was wonderful and so friendly. Definitely recommend.
Amazing place!!! They follow the covid 19 regulations. You will not get bored!!! Get ready to walk tho.Note that the boat tour IS NOT included with the Aquarium Ticket.
Was one of the best aquariums Ive been to highly recommend.
This place is just great. They are doing their best to manage Covid-19 regulations. Third time Ive been and I recommend going during the pandemic as with less people theres more time and view space.
Better then Camden, but a little disappointing because nothing has been updated since I was a kid and not everything was open. One of the main features, dolphins, wasn’t even having shows.. also, don’t bother with the 4D shark. It’s barely a show and you’ll get jabbed in the back by the chair twice... which is extremely annoying for anyone with back problems. It’s not subtle either.. more like a full on knuckle to the back >_
LOVE THIS AQUARIUM! ️️
It was fantastic. Thats all I can say. Well definitely be back again.
We visited in the time of covid and everything was fabulous. While some stuff is closed off for safety we still had a great time and felt pretty safe. The staff were incredibly helpful and the guests were a respectful of each others space.would def come back
Absolutely LOVED it. The layout was easy and not confusing. The staff was positively AMAZING. I am visiting from East Lansdowne PA and I loved every bit of it. Much better than the one in Philly. I would definitely come again. And the DOLPHINS WERE A HIGH LIGHT. The even have sharks here.Definitely deserves 5 stars
Great aquarium, love the different exhibits. The volunteers were very friendly and added so much to the exhibits! The aquarium had a great variety of animals. All the exhibits were extremely clean and obviously well cared for! I loved the jelly fish and the frogs the best. Both the Australian and Amazon walk through were gorgeous.
Really fun. Lots to see. Over all, so worth making the trip with the family.
I have an awesome day every time I go. They are very welcoming and answer any questions you might have. I wish it was even bigger with more of everything. Love the boardwalk it’s on. National Aquarium is near everything parking, food, drink. It’s a great day if you planning on going. Get the yearly pass after a couple of visits it pays for itself plus its all year.
Great day activity during COVID-19! The staff were extremely kind and very cautionary for safety and sanitary measures. Plenty of sanitization stations around and a sanitized stylus to use at the interactive exhibits! I’ve never been able to go through all of the Aquarium but I’m an truly never disappointed by the ingenious design surrounding the flow of foot traffic around the creatures that can be seen! Saw so many young kids, teens, and adults all enjoying themselves!
We spent an enjoyable Saturday with our grandkids exploring this magnificent Aquarium. It is second to none when compared to other citys aquariums. A vast display of numerous exhibitions from fresh to salt water, including birds and mammals, fish and reptiles. Everyone was respectful of the current Covid restrictions made it a safe environment for all. Highly recommend.
A really fun place to visit. My kids loved looking at all the fish. We went during COVID with masks and social distancing and it was still fun, though most people didnt seem very concerned about keeping 6 feet apart. But they took temperatures at the start of the visit, so that was a bit reassuring. Tickets are a bit pricey, so we dont go very often. There are also lots of restaurants close by as well as other interesting places to visit, so the inner harbor is overall a great place to visit.
It was the best museum Ive had the pleasure of visiting. Even during these times of social distancing...we kept it safe, wore our mask and had a wonderful experience!
Absolutely LOVE the National Aquarium! Exhibits are well developed and the stacked, ascending layout of the aquarium with the amazing reef exhibit as its anchor is a sight to behold. There are regularly scheduled daily animal encounters as well as an all day touch tank experience. Scattered stations for learning and interacting are spread throughout and really compliment the exhibits. Our entire family - from 8 to 40 yrs old - always has a great time!We also enjoy the central Baltimore location which provides access to ample, affordable parking and many options for dining.
First time!! Truly a great experience. No crowds. We went late in the day. I will definitely go again when they start the dolphins shows
Went at night with the kids, it was great not crowded at all!!
Its an incredible experience! As an animal lover I find it refreshing when an aquarium provides adequate enclosure for all its animals. Animal were all happy and healthy, and the aquarium did not place customer experience over animal welfare which I greatly appreciate. That said, it was still an amazing customer experience, and its a great educational opportunity for children.
Ive come here many times throughout my life and its always been wonderful. Great trip for all ages.
