Love this place! Its not expensive and the kids always have a great time. The rides are well maintained and the park is clean, and the food is fresh. Its a great tradition that keeps going. And its always an easy walk to Lake Merritt.
So much fun! A very large fair, wear comfy shoes and clothes and bring cash, the ATM lines are horrible. Everyone is here to have a good time, vendors and visitors. And yes some items are very pricey, but where ELSE can you get these types of goods! Everyone is in character, transports you to a different time, it offers much to see! The Jousting show was fun, the procession with the queen was cool to see. Try it out, I dare you to not have fun! To get an entrance discount go online, or present military or AAA card.
I have been going to the Renaissance festival since I was with me and every year I try to make it at least twice some of the most friendly people on everyone is just happy to be there the food even though its expensive is great and theres always someone selling something that you will absolutely love I cannot recommend the Festival anymore than I already do even if youre not into dressing up in costumes you will still have an amazing time it is kid friendly and you can find everything you would want to build a proper costume
Where else can you find so much entertainment and excitement in southern California? The faire is wonderful event to go to for the weekend and has something to do for everyone in the family. The shows are a delight and the people get really into character. The joust is always a highlight and very exciting. Comedy and entertainment shows are a great way to spend the afternoon. If youre looking to buy some nice souvenirs there are an immense amount of vendors selling things from honeys, pirate garb, sewing material, and jewelry. Of course not trip would be complete without a nice meal and the amount of good food you can find there is shocking. Be sure to grab a meat pie.
One of the biggest renaissance fairs Ive been to. This one has a lot to offer. I enjoyed the joust and the knife throwing. One thing i miss from a different fair was the brewed made sodas. Be prepared to spend over $100 when looking into handcrafted items. We took $380 and still didnt feel like enough.
I really enjoyed going to the Faire. It had been a long time. I enjoyed the artisan booths. They have great soils in their crafts. Although I did not play games it was fun watching others play and their was a large selection. The option for food was awesome. Being a pescatarian and non dairy eater there was a lot of options for me. The shows were great, entertaining and funny. Of course the important part was watching everyone in costume. Next time we go I definitely will have on a costume.
Love being transferred to another era!! So many shops so make sure you take $$$$!! Everyone is so friendly and helpful!! The food is really good aswell. The costuming is beyond words!!
Great time on the last day of the fair.
We had a very good time visiting the Renaissance Faire today on OPENING weekend. This is a wonderful place to spend a few hours, with a lot of GREAT opportunities for people watching!I will start with Pros:Thanks to an abundance of actors and staging, you really do feel like you have transformed to the Renaissance time period!Small children will really have fun, as there are a plethora of things for them to do (especially age 5-10 age group)There are plenty of options for food and and drinkThe environment felt safe and secure with Security personnel located throughout the venuePlenty of opportunities to purchase a variety of items- and some of these these would be hard to find elsewhere (such as glass blowing on site, aromotherapy items, leather goods and many places to buy Renaissance era clothing and lots of jewelry, just to name a few)Unusual activities to choose from, such as shooting a bow and arrow, throwing spears and for kids- a chance to play in a transparent giant ball (see photo)Lots of photo opportunities with people dressed in Renaissance period costumesCONSPlan to spend quite a bit of money- there are MANY WAYS to SPEND MONEY at this EVENTParking places are distant and require a lot of walkingMaps provided at front gate are not very clearThere are shows throughout the venue at different times, but 80% of the production were designed to make money- either for items, food/drink, or playing gamesAll in all, a fun, unique way to spend a day!
So much fun activities, lots of places to sit, rest and do some people watching, great place for kids too.
Ive going to this faire for over a decade & it just gets better & better! Its a great family adventure full of games, handmade crafts, entertainment & food! You can also dressed up or go casual. You are allowed to take melee weapons but they must be piece tied. If you have allergies, go prepared because there is dirt, grass, trees everywhere! You can get coupons on their website as well for discounts! Huzzah!
As usual, loved it! Broon was very funny and so were the Washing Wenches. Got there early, so we got close parking and didnt have to waiting in that crazy, long line to get to the parking lot. It was great talking to the blacksmiths and woodworkers. I always enjoy the food and music acts. This is such a great fair (faire). If you can, come in costume. If you cant, they do have costume rentals.
This fair is fun and its great to go to every year. From the food to the shops there is plenty to do, and the events and shows are always entertaining and a true pleasure to watch.
Bring your own magic, and sense of wonder, to have a great time! Make sure you honor the 15 MPH Speed limit in the park. The feds are happy to take your money. Leave the weed at home, as its a Federal Park!
Great pricing and all the holes were so fun to play! Went there on a Saturday and it wasnt too busy. We were able to play with not a lot of waiting
Great place to hang and day drink ;) Youre welcome.
The original Renaissance Pleasure Faire and the best production ever giving people a glimpse of how life was during that era. The company transforms a 25 acre area at the Santa Fe Dam Rec area in Irwindale into a whole village sparing no details. The construction of the town, the colorful decors, the elaborate costumes, the training of participants how to act n speak, the shows, the parades, the games, and the entertainment will take you back 500 years into history in Europe once you step through the front gates. You can escape the reality of daily modern life and have a great time for several hours with a nominal entry fee. Go and see how many of the guests dress up to the max to truely sink themselves into those times and have fun.The large food court offers a huge variety of delicious eats such as tri tip sandwiches, pork chops on a stick, fish n chips, baked oysters, pulled pork sliders, giant turkey legs, gyro sandwiches, burgers, spicy sausage with saurcrout, cajun dirty rice with sausage, a large variety of desserts, ice creams, juices, drinks, beer, n wine.Check it out and see how people lived, worked, and had fun 500 years ago.
I loved it and I will visit it again. I really recommend it. Good atmosphere
An exciting adventure into culture and comedy. I was introduced to the Renaissance Pleasure Fair in 2010, & Ive not missed a yr since. Its family oriented & exciting, fm the moment you walk in. So many things to see, be an active participant in & just enjoy the day with open arms of people youve necer met before.
This is the best Renaissance Faire around. Its loaded with debauchery, Shakespearean references, bawdy men and women, and lots and lots of food and alcohol. Bring your money, and your appetite for ale and lusty lads and ladies. Its a spectacular time!
Was so much fun. Lots of really authentic costumes as well as costumes that were just for fun. Food was great, drinks were amazing. Try the different flavors of mead if you can.I wanted to spend all of the money at all of the shops but I showed a little bit of restraint. The entertainment was amazingwith lots of different shows. My favorite or the bird crew and I got to see some beautiful birds that were very well behaved
Had a great time... Good shows, good food and beer! There is rentals to dress up like renaissance era.
My favorite act is the Poxy Boggards. Very bawdy and enjoyable. Love to buy a turkey leg and walk around .
Wonderfully hosted and something here for everyone! Definently will be coming back in the future.
The kids had a great time. Right when they started to get tired and needed a break, it was time to move into the party room. One day after the party and the kids are begging to go again.
I love coming every year. Aron Bonk is my go to show. Turtle races, javelins, axes, stars whats not love.
Fun for the whole family or even just couples.
Always amazing! Great food, great entertainment! Bring your sunscreen and dress however you are comfortable!
Terrific time. Lots to do, mostly lots to buy. But the archery, and the jousting were for sure the top to favorite things at this place. Honestly it is cool to see once but bring a lot of cash most dont take cards. But get the Welsh cakes or something, theyre not quite a scone not quite a muffin but damn they were good. All in all go see it for the hell of it. Its good fun, and its nice to just do something different.
Always a good time.We enjoy the costumes, games, food, and entertainment. If you enjoy a day outdoors then you have to try this.
They open April 6th. They are a good time waiting to happen. Living the dream!
Ive been here several times a year for the past 20 years and its still a ton of fun every time. Plenty of shows for both children and adults.
This was really fun! My husband and I went last year and had a great time. Parking is $10. Tickets are a bit pricey at $35 per person, and food and drink are also very expensive. Beer was $11 for a cup, and food was also over $10 for anything. It was pretty hot and sunny so make sure you wear sunscreen! Most people dress up, so you may feel out of place if you dont. The entertainment was great, my favorite part. There were lots of shops to check out that carried bodices, swords, knives, handmade goods, and costumes, to name a few. There were also activities for kids like drawing and making trinkets in a cooler, quieter spot that had a seating area with shade for parents with young children.Check it out for yourself; youll have a great time! (:
Always a good time @ the Faire... Bawdy humor & plenty of cleavage make for a day to remember
Been coming for 3 years now and it is always amazing. The costumes are so cool and it is always great to dress up too. First time I had a Scotch egg, a memorable experience. Fun for every age.
I had a great time with my girlfriend, everything was fun and no one had a stick up their butts to ruin my time with her. The costumes worn by people were interesting to look at, the weapon shops were nice, with some being much higher quality than others and the people working there were fun to interact with. Some of the prices were jacked and pretty crazy but when the quality was good and the wares handmade it is to be expected. Benches instead of hay would have been nice though*
So much fun. Spent the day throwing darts, eating good food and playing games
I love this event so much!!!! The vast varieties of shops is intriguing. I have made many friends here and got a new dragon for my costume!! Love the food, events, and shows! The Boon and Moonie show is HILARIOUS!! If you havent yet expierenced it, you MUST see for yourself.
A must go each year! Even more fun if you dress up.
Ive been doing the renaissance fair for almost a half a century. Its become a custom and tradition for me and my daughter. Love dressing up love the entertainment. Will continue to come until I rest in peace.
Great time for all ages. Something different from the the day to day of life and technology.
As a person who went on a field trip here it was interesting but once you walk to the first turn you are just already over it. Food was beyond overpriced(5 dollars for a slice of pizza that you can buy for a dollar elsewhere?!) but the deal on honey sticks was great-$15 for 50 honey sticks. The javelin throwing and the archery are very cool.
OMG Ive never had so much fun in a place where I wouldnt be judged for shouting Huzah! So immersive, everyone seemed to take their jobs very seriously, and everyone took the entire experience seriously. No haters! The jousting was AMAZING. The actors were dedicated. I would love to actually just live there.
The Renaissance Pleasure Faire is literally something I look forward to year after year its a shame that its only around 2 months out of the year but it just makes it that much more worthwhile I look forward to seeing everyone and everything again next year happy 2019 until 2020 HAZAAA!
The absolute best! We look forward to it every year! They have wonderful vendors of all kinds: delicious local honey, beautiful handmade jewelry, battle ready weapons ️, Renaissance costumes, everything you could want from a Renaissance Fair! Theres also lots of delightful shows: our favorite bird show featuring multiple birds of prey, magic shows, and of course, the joust ️!
This year was my second time going to the Ren Fair. I absolutely love it. Every time Ive been, it has been an absolute pleasure with the people, vendors, actors, guests. I always look forward to the jousting. Im a huge fan of Maximillian! Remember to have plenty of cash on hand, you will be using it. Only real quarrel is with the parking. You can wait anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours to get in. Also, I know a Ren fair can be better.
Great time. A little on the pricey side though. Not for someone on a tight budget if you want to shop. The shows were great. Missed the jousting show, bummer. That is why I love to attend. Good day all in all.
Always a pleasure at the renfaire. Never a dull moment. Fit for all ages. Very exciting for disabled people as well. Weeks are entertaining with schools coming to learn able the Renaissance era. Thank you
Always loads of fun!!! Dressing up or not it’s all good. Bring sunscreen and comfy shoes. Hit up the baked potatoes, Broon’s show and the joust!
Lots of fun! Great shows! Good food!
Always a great time every year! I have been going since the Agoura Hills days and every year is just a bit better. Some great constants and great new things as well. Just go! Oh you will be parking in the dirt if you dont get there early and pay extra for preferred parking.
Awesome atmosphere but be ready to spend a lot of money. Food and beer is plentiful but be prepared to spend at least $25 for a meal and beer for one person. Lots do experience without spending money though!
Great time. Very nice people working the fair.
I just visited yesterday and it was a great time! People working and attending are all in good spirits, it’s contagious. The venue is good with plenty of area to walk around, enough shade and entertainment abound! Being by the water was a plus. Thank you from a first-timer!
Had lots of fun walking around and seeing people cosplay; missed my cosplay chance, but Ill try to next time
I had great time with my teenage children. I was absolutely thrilled to see there was a vegan pizza/sandwich truck! I am allergic to dairy and a vegetarian so usually my only option is french fries and salad. I wish there were over in the food court because they are hard to find.
Love love love the festivities, If your looking for renaisssance clothing check out Inter Moden. They are affordable and easy to buy from, locally located in Hawthorne they do same day delivery too.
Everything too expensive... Everything . So eat before you get there then be sure to use the restroom somewhere else and be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Then go and enjoy yourself. Oh I almost forgot ......bring a hat. We got sunburned
Its good very old time like, its very expensive and hot. i spent 50+ on a crochet unicorn! Still enjoyed !
Pleasure Faire is a highlight of my year. Me and my crew do the pub crawl during pirate weekend each April and it cant be beat. The grounds here are rad - so walkable and varied; a great day of an experience rather than just a couple hours. LEAVE BEFORE FAIRE ENDS OR YOULL INEVITABLY BE STUCK IN ONE LANE TRAFFIC FOR HOURS. Unless youre into hanging with a bunch of folks who are as patient and as cool as you are while you wait together for the rush to clear out. =)
Always a great time especially if you dress up
Always a great. All kinds of things to see from regular people to period dress to space people to Dr. Who.... Family fun with a adult twist on it. All kinds of food and things to buy. Shows and swords and bow n arrows.... the queen and her court....
An absolute fun time for everyone of any age. I have been attending the Renaissance Pleasure Faire for 6 years in a row and every time I find something new to enjoy. The Ren Raire runs for a whole month and a few extra weeks, every weekend. Each weekend has its own theme and events. This year, our group cosplayed and joined RenQuest, which is a fun in-character quest line ran by a number of actors throughout the faire grounds and day. One ticket allowed our entire team to play. I highly recommend it.There is alcoholic beverages, adult events, and adult-only stages scattered throughout the faire grounds, so rest assured there is a lot of grown up fun alongside the family and kid-friendly fun.
Dont get the beef ribs. Think we got food poisoning from them. They tasted like they had gone bad, very little meat, no seasoning and barbecue sauce had no flavor. Ate them anyway because they cost so much. Had the curly fries and they were awesome. I had a great time except for the ribs. Gave me and my husband the runs and now home with a stomach ache. Didnt have anything else to eat today. If it werent for the ribs would have given the place a 5.
A wonderful fun day! Filled with family fun and lots of renaissance activities. Craft booths, lots of excellent food available.
A great event! I love when the Faire is in town. There are a lot of things to do here and a lot of great little shops to look it. Its so fun to see people dressed up and reenact. There are plenty of shows and great food booths at well. You will not regret visiting The Renaissance Faire
Nice, the clothes are awesome. Wish they had better food to serve. No hamburgers, no hot dogs, no barbecue chicken, tri-tip, steaks.
Always a good time seeing all the beautiful costumes and the merchants are always very nice. Plenty of activities, shows, music and shops/booths to check out and of course people watching. Highly recommend if youre looking for a fun day outside of your normal routine. Bring friends or even go alone; youre bound to meet fun people. Plenty of drinks and food as well. (They also have vegan food options!)
It was amazing, my husband and I was invited. We was amazed with all the People, costumes and history. The next time we come we will be ready. We will never forget the amazing time we had, and all the wonderful people we met. Next time we will be part of the Renaissance story. And we want to thank our friend Brian for inviting us to such an amazing part of History. We love you Brian thank you
Lots of fun to visit. Havent been for around 10 years, but lots of fun. Bring cash, as some vendors do not take credit cards, but most do.
I have been flying out from Maryland every year since 2012 to attend this faire and of all the ones Ive been to its among my favorite faires. Its got fantastic food, great drinks, I particularly love the Oubliette for its unique drinks and fun drinking games. They have artisans of every sort, real jousting and dozens of fun costumed cast members wandering around to add to the experience. Try the pub crawl too if you enjoy a bit of bawdy fun and hearty drinking lol. Highly recommend!
My second time attending the fair this year. Everything was what you could expect from the R fair if you have ever attended one before until it was the time to go back. They designed the route not circular toward the gate. To exit we had to walk back the road we came from! That was such a boring and tired way back. And the way out from the parking lot! I would say it was true hell. We just standed and wait to move in the same spot for an hour to just get into the big road connected to the park gate. I dont know it was the particular day 4/21 at 7:30 pm. It took us over 2hrs to arrive home where it typically takes 20min time. So if you go, leave early or later. We saw some people just decided to hangout in the parking lot.
I love going to the Renaissance Pleasure Faire every year. I have enjoyed going since it was held in Agoura Hills. It is wonderful fun & educational about Queen Elizabeth, Shakespeares plays & how to just have lots of fun.
One of my favorite events of the year. Been coming since I was 10... lots of love
Is super fun to visit the renaissance fair, a little bit pricey but it is worth it! Really good characters!
Everything was great big fair lots of variety. Just a little on the expensive side.
This is a fun experience. Dress up if you can, and be sure to see Broon at the Fools Stage for a great show. Hes a lot of laughs.
This place is a ton of fun, this was my second time going ( definitely not the last time) and I hope its an annual thing for my family. The people there are super nice and the food is magnificent! 10/10 would go again!I think you will enjoy it.There is many activities that you can do there is a mini pool with water in it that you can go in a little blow up ball and roll around in the water, there is a trampoline with straps so you can fly higher and there is a zip line. You can relax and put your kids in a reenactment with the queen and do your own thing!Thank you for the fun time pleasure fair for Making wonderful memories for me and my family.
I love going to this event. Tons of super nice people decked out in all the relevant clothes that remind you of a simpler time. Lots of really fun shows to watch, activities, and of course items to buy (really quality hand made items I should add...quite impressive at times). It does usually get really hot so be sure to bring tons of water -- or money for water -- and youll have a blast.
Great place. Awesome adventures
Very fun. Awesome performers! Tasty food!
A highlight every year, we love to go especially when we can see Moonie & Broon. Recommend wearing comfy shoes and bringing some water as it can get very warm. Great food, wonderful shops, just make sure to budget plenty of money
I came here with a school, and the attractions, shops, and everything else fits very well in with the time of the Renaissance. The items they sell are high-quailty, and the joust I watched was exciting and really brought me in. I would definitely visit again if I had the chance.
Great vibe and location to hd this worlds greatest fantasy faire
Entertaining but if your new, its hard to know where things are at. The medieval maps arent labeled properly. The map they give you doesnt have vendors listed. You have to buy the premium catalog. Every show the entertainers beg you for money. Got a little annoying. For jousting it was like Disneyland. All the regular patrons knew where to go way ahead of time and there was not enough room or seats for everyone. If you didnt get a seat you saw nothing.
Always a fun experiance and the vendors know what they are doing there. Make sure youre ready to get a car wash after your visit and definately remember to use the entrance coupons so you can save that money on the way in. Too much good stuff to buy, to eat and to do.
Great shows and crafts abound. There is too much to experience in just one day. They have a large variety of food options. You must pay to enter the Santa Fe Dam Park in order to park near the entrance. You may want to avoid going on Mothers Day; the park itself gets very crowded and makes for a difficult egress.
Very entertaining. Love the atmosphere and people. Only downside is everything is so damn expensive.
Entrance prices are now competing with disney. Have spoken to the merchants who also say its not as worth it as use to be. Know for a fact that theyve lost a lot of amazing vendors. With this being said its still fun but not as affordable as it use to be. Also company makes a lot of money but the performers and those adding color dont get paid which is my biggest issue. They consider them volunteers
Been coming here for a couple years now, and its always a great experience! The townsfolk are very interactive and the food is great. Id recommend going to the food booths with the smallest lines. They usually have some great food, and its served quick. Id highly recommend this to anyone in the area. Huzzah!
It was fun to go to once. You have to pay admission to get in, and then the majority of the things to do inside the faire you had to pay to be able to do. The food was better then I thought it would be - good for faire food. The lines for the food vendors were long. The map of the faire was not a very good map.
A sad shadow of a real RenFest. Mostly just people selling junk. Performances were quiet and actors not very interested in roles
Had a great time there are things there for everybody to do lots of shows Watson Creek things to buy and the food oh my God the food its just out of this world the people there oh really nice
Fun and family friendly. Not too big. The layout is different from other faires - mainly there is a food court with tons of seating so there are not a lot of lounging type places throughout as you might see at other faires.
Everything about the Renaissance pleasure faire was amazing. The pruyors were great, every person that we came in contact with absolutely was friendly and turned out to be a friend!
Always a great time! Who cant resist looking at a bunch of wenches! Lol! Great food too! And fun shows!
Its, always, a fun experience to do
