A peaceful spot on Lake Erie in Avon Lake. We frequently stop at the nearby McDonalds for breakfast sandwiches of a Sunday morning and take them to Veterans Park to enjoy the lake view and the activities around us. Swimmers practice their skills under the eyes of watchful parents, the Sunday yoga group is well attended. After eating, we stroll around the park before heading home. A delightful start to a sometimes hectic day!

Avon Lakes Veterans Memorial Park is a pleasant little - emphasis on little - public access spot to an equally small patch of Lake Erie beach.Perched on a low cliff, which offers a panoramic view of the lake, the parks one drawback is its postage-stamp size - the public area is scarce 100 yards along the cliff, with parking for only perhaps two-dozen vehicles.It does feature a large, old house that serves as city park headquarters and provides limited group meeting space in non-COVID times.It is an attractive, if tiny place, but geared mostly to residents who live close enough to walk or bike to its confines.A much better spot for out-of-area visitors is the spacious Huntington Beach, five miles to the east along the same Lake Road in Bay VillageVeterans is lovely and well-appointed, just too small to allow distancing.

Nice but very small. Pretty much a look at the lake only area. A few nice benches and clean area.

I grew up here. My grandpa had a boat at the boat club. Now I get to share memories with my children. Its beautiful there.

Teen Covid party hang out. Had to leave. There were around 50 teens having a party. No social distancing. Normally this one of my favorite spots on Earth. Its beautiful and clean.

I think its a little nicer than the Bay Beach Crocker Park

Nice park in high class neighborhood Avon Lake on the shores of Lake Erie Great place for a picnic or walk.

Clean, well maintained. There is NOT a beach. A grassy lawn which has stairs going into the water.Breaker walls are close enough together to inhibit lengthier swims (a la Huntington Beach).

Peaceful place to sit on the benches and just enjoy the beautiful sun setting over Lake Erie. It was so pleasant there this evening that there was a Tae Kwon Do class and a yoga class going on, people eating out at the picnic tables, biking and walking.

Pretty lakefront. Well kept. New, clean, warm restrooms.

Nice place to sit and listen to the lake. Not crowded at all.

Great local city park. Great views of the lake, lots of benches and picnic tables spread out to enjoy the fabulous view of Lake Erie. Small beach with swimming permitted. No life guard.

Veterans Memorial Park is a great place for swimming, walks, and parties too. Theres a beautiful lake view and even a party building .

Absolutely wonderful place to go with friends and family. Picnics are great.

The place is nice and relaxing but some of the stuff has cobwebs on it and some scratches. If it was a little more clean I would give it a 5/5

Fairly small park with little parking but perfect for viewing the sunset or having a picnic in the grass.

Sat under a shady tree and enjoyed just watching people swim, sail, and enjoy the beach.

Great 105 Howitzer display with commemorative plaques to those men lost from WW1 onward. Great views of Lake Erie and benches to sit and relax. A little quiet getaway from the busy world to contemplate the sacrifice others have made for our country and freedom.

The Lake is refreshing, the park is struggling, we need sand and maybe a break wall, I care as a teen in the 70,s I had mowed,cleaned trimmed the park. I am now 59. Thanks, still home.

Who doesnt love the pounding of the waves on a beautiful clear day? This park is so nice as you dont have to walk across grass, sand, or rocks to get to a bench. The lake view is just magnificent!!

A very small but beautiful park. There is plenty of seating and the views are gorgeous.

I walk my dog here almost every evening. I opposed the construction of a gazebo in the middle of the park because it would ruin the view of the lake. The new gazebo is tucked out of the way. It is smaller than originally planned, so doesnt obstruct the view of the lake very much.

Quaint park with a boardwalk and great sunsets over Lake Erie. Rocking chairs and ice cream for evening sunset chats with friends. Clean rest rooms and a nice party center.

Beautiful day. Beautiful lake. It was gorgeous out there. Cooler with the breeze off the lake. Some of the boards were warped. Could be a tripping hazard. All in all it was a pleasant experience.

It is a nice spot to stop and look at Lake Erie. There is a spot to wade and swim. There is also a nice memorial that is a tribute to many who have served.

Beautiful park! I went for the Rock the Lake festival where I saw some interesting large pieces of furniture and other items to decorate a home. It was a gorgeous and worth the trip even though I purchased nothing.

Beautiful scenery..not many people..not really a park for getting close to the beach because the beach is very narrow and not really meant for people to walk on.

Popular now in the summer for sunsets but not so much through past years. Only minutes from my house, been visiting for 30 years. Frozen lake in the winter is awesome too.

Its an ok park for the less active people. Dont waste your time if you are looking for a place to get a good walk in. The path isnt very long, the beach is scant, and the sidewalk runs out.The sunset is pretty, but there isnt a great vantage point to get a proper view.

I love this park! I do yoga and have yoga classes there every summer. Im glad they built extra bathroom facility. Great place that doesnt always get too crowded and great for watching sunsets.
