They offer membership for someone outside of UT. It is not an open concept like most of newer Gym buildings in other Universities. So you have to walk around to know where you want to go. No Olympic Lifting which makes sense... But would like to see more area for functional fitness trainings..

We go to support the UT womens volleyball team. I am amazed at the production quality of the games, the band, the cheerleaders, the DJ and the videos on the screen. The players are high quality and we enjoy watching them at Gregory Gym. Point Texas!

Good gym. If youre looking for a full treadmill experience with tv, music, and all, go somewhere else. Also, dont come here for seated cable rows. You wont find much.Overall, I like it here. It has a surplus of amenities to suit your workout experience. Just dont show up with a workout preplanned. You have to survey the equipment and build your workout around whats available.

Always difficult to get a power rack at virtually any hour of the day. Unless youre there early in the morning (like 6 or 7 when they open) youll likely not get a good workout in. Also there are no kettle bells which seems like a minor thing but for the amount I pay in tuition they should have a few.

Generally a good place to work out. Great pools, indoor track and basketball courts. The weight room could use a few more back pull machines, and it gets quite crowded after 11:00a or so.

One star is for the grumpy students at the service desk. Refused to give towel for guest pass and sounded very rude. The gym would get like 2 stars. Have good squat racks, only one deadlift platform, old equipment and the entire place has only one weight room, which I think is not typical for a top university gym which charges $12 for a day pass. Bathing areas in the locker rooms doesnt even have a soap. Pretty old sauna and no steam room. Went with great expectations. I would rate the University of Minnesotas gym 1000 times better.

The facilities here are outstanding. Weight rooms & machines, bikes, treadmills etc, racquetball, squash, handball, basketball, rock-climbing, yoga, table-tennis, swimming pool, steam-room ... (Apologies if I missed your favorite activity. If it is legal and vaguely sporty then it is probably available. Check out the website.)Associate membership is about $50 / month and is open to all. IMO parking and traffic are the only downsides versus (for example) Lifetime Fitness. With careful planning those can be somewhat mitigated: parking is free after 6pm (5pm if you dont mind pushing your luck) at the many the city parking-lots nearby.

Its a great gym but other universities have better newer facilities. Also its always so crowded I feel like UT could do well to invest in a new facility closer to west campus.

Good gym but I hate their water bottle policy. If you left your water bottle there even 1-2 days previously, you might as well kiss it goodbye. They throw away their water bottles for some reason, which is completely ridiculous to me.I lost 3 water bottles there forever because of it.

They gym is fine, lots of free weights if you are looking to lift. There are 7 basketball courts but usually at least one is taken by intramurals, two are taken by volleyball, then the other four are actually usable. Fine gym, dont know that its worth $12 per trip if you dont have a membership.

So many amenities. Its a great, updated gym with so many things to do. They have many basketball/volleyball courts and a full fitness/weight room with plenty of equipment. They have quite a few raquet ball courts and extremely nice pools outside, some for laps and some for free play. Theres a nice indoor track as well as a great rock wall. All the equipment that you need to do your desired activity, they have ready to be checked out. Great place.

Review №46

Gym facilities are good overall. Taking into consideration the number of people that visit on a daily basis, they dont have enough equipment. Cardio machines are only a few.Theres only one and sometimes two volleyball courts that are always full. It is very hard to go and play without having to wait. The 25 cent lockers are deteriorating and many dont work.It is okay if you go during a time of the day that is not very crowded. They have saunas, swimming pools, basketball courts, racquetball courts and an indoors running track.

Review №48

Equipment is not maintained property. Always something broken. Locker rooms are filthy. Often the same dirt is the floor for weeks. Tolliets overflow all over the floors. Sauna needs to be refurbished. A lightbulb has been out for 2 months now. That is a simple example on how poorly the sauna is maintained which is a reflection on the maintenance overall. Staff is friendly and except for locker rooms the other areas are very clean.

Being a UT student, I have the advantage of utilizing all the equipment at Gregory Gym. My frequent trips to the gym include running on the 3rd floor indoor track, dancing in the two aerobics rooms, and taking a swim in their swimming pools. My all time favorite activity to do at Gregory Gym though is actually read/study. On the second floor they have an activities room with pool tables and lots of tables. Its a great place to study with minimal noise. Another great place to study is outside next to the pools to give you a relaxing atmosphere to focus.

I go to Greg about 4 times a week and I like the gym a lot, but I don’t necessarily love it. Especially during the beginning parts of the semesters, the gym could get extremely overcrowded which makes it a bit harder to work out, but there isn’t really anything Greg can do about that so just a fair warning that the gym can get really packed. I like the variety of machines they have because my home gym didn’t have most of these machines so I feel like I am getting a lot more targeted work outs done when I go. I also took swimming classes at UT where we used the Greg pool and I loved it. The indoor pool was so peaceful, I could stay in it all day if that were allowed. I really enjoyed the depth of the pool and how people don’t tend to go there very often so I had a lot of lane space to myself. There is also a Shake Smart in Greg which is convenient placement because I can go there whenever I forget my protein and still get my fix for the day in. I def recommend checking Greg out at least once, or more, if you are into working out!

Review №69

Located in the heart of the UT campus, Gregory is probably the busiest, most crowded gym in Austin. Given the size of the student body, the weight room is woefully inadequate. However, the outdoor pools are fantastic during the hot summer and make a great destination for any tour of the campus.

Review №86

One of the best gyms in town. Great pools (leisure, lap, indoor), weight equipment, multiple cardio areas, basketball courts, track, raquetball, squash, group exercise program, and cheapest personal training in town (which doesnt mean cheapest quality by any means). Downsides is it follows UT semester schedules so closes too early on Friday and Saturday, between semesters, holidays, and tough to park here unless you live nearby and have access to UT (excellent bike parking, however). Not 24 hours. Indoor pool hours only certain times of the day. Can get sponsorships for discounted membership. Clientele are mostly students, faculty, staff, and a few community members. Weight equipment is heavily used and disorganized (nested plate weights, pads need replacing some areas, missing barbell weight clamps). Avoid peak hours. Has shake food service, towels, and Amazon pickup.

Their skateboard policy is ridiculous. They should provide a way to lock them up or let me rest it against the wall out of the way. I have on two occasions thought my board was stolen only to be told they have it at the front, but when I tried to drop it off there I was told to put it in the unsecured annex bleachers.
