Really phenomenal theater company. Compelling performances all around. Helpful and friendly staff as well. Theater is small-yet-cozy.
Had the opportunity to see a production while visiting Austin: wonderful performance, charming theater, good spirit, and the support staff and volunteers clearly had a strong and cordial relationship with regular patrons. If I were a local Id surely be seeing them regularly.
Very sincere company and very good value for tickets.
What a wonderful experience!Saw Tommy at the city theater company. Behind an unassuming facade of a one-story office building there is a thriving 80-seat theater with not a single poor seat in the house, with a charming lobby offering libations and desserts, most of which are complimentary to boot (donation suggested, of course). The staff were most friendly and accommodating, and the production was masterly, stirring, with some amazing voices (especially Tommy and his mother).Just a wonderful afternoon filled with unforgettable music. Bravo, CTC!
I adore this little theater. The lounge is awesome, there are no bad seats, and the shows have always been fantastic.
One of the most underrated things to do in Austin. Its perfect affordable low-key night out where you also get your culture on. You don’t have to be a theater lover/type to have a good time; I’m far from it and I do nonetheless. Go!
Awesome theater experience. Saw Hamlet and lead that played Hamlet was off the charts great. Lots of talent at this small theater! Not a bad seat in the house! Really nice customer service oriented employees make for a great night out at an unbelievable bargain.
Small,~85 seat tiered theater with an eclectic lounge area. Parking is tight. We saw Shakespeares As You Like It. As with any of the Bards plays, it helps to be familiar with the story and the characters. The cast did a good job.
Great little theater hiding on Airport. They do a ton of shows here! I saw Ruthless and enjoyed the quality of the performance. Ill be coming back here again to see more live theater.
One of my favorite places to go see a play. Its quaint and cozy. I love the lounge with the antique furniture. The proprietor, Andy is awesome
Last night my husband and I had the pleasure of attending a play put on by the City Theater Company. It was a production of Shakespeares Twelfth Night. We are big fans of Shakespeares work and particularly love his comedies. We were both pleasantly surprised at the quality of the acting. We are looking forward to seeing more of this talented group of actors!
This is a tremendously talented theater company. The venue is small and cozy but Ive never seen a bad show here. If you love theater this is the place for you. The only down side and the only reason I didnt give them a five star review is the seats are terribly uncomfortable.
I saw my first play in Austin here and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The venue is small, but cozy, and the staff is friendly and accommodating.
I always enjoy productions at City Theater. This one provided many much-needed laughs in our current situation.
Shoestring operation that consistently puts on first class performances with casts from amateurs to seasoned pros who rarely disappoint.
Wonderful small theater that still pays homage to some classic works that deserve attention.
Cool vibe and reasonably priced! Fun evening! Looking forward to going again!
I flew in to Austin once before I lived here and looked up online what was going on. Not knowing anyone, I thought Id take a little culture in. I saw The Crucible and was thoroughly impressed. Great acting, great set, and a ticket under $20. What more could you want? I recently saw 12 Angry Men and was similarly impressed. Why would anyone go to the movies when you can get entertainment like this for the same price?
They are amazing... Never a bad play. Support them!
Great little theater, puts on quality productions with affordable ticket prices. A bit hot in the summer but ac cant be run during quiet moments so not much to be done.
Fun place to visit they do a lot on their small stage. Go check it out.
Great small, intimate theatre experience, you wont be disappointed seeing a show there.
Very nice staff, interesting scenery, and great play. I would recommend to anyone who’s looking to have an entertaining night for a good price.
Nice little theater, perfect for a date night. No bad seats.
Love, love this theatre, a diamond. Andy is the best director too :)
Saw a wonderful production of Agatha Christies Mousetrap at this theater. Ive seen the London production but, frankly, I enjoyed myself more at this community theater production.
I saw the normal heart here and they did an amazing job. Nice intimate space and friendly people.
Phenomenal show....All My Sons....a must see!
85 seat theater, clean, interesting lounge, friendly staff, all seats are good.
Small, local Austin theatre. Good times. Date night. Feels like real Austin.
Great talent, great show!
Christmas Belles is hilarious and so much fun. You gotta see it!!!
The best little Theater in Central Texas!Tell Andy that I sent you...
The set was spartan, but the actors really seemed to care. There is some skill there and we will be seeing them again.
Surprisingly wonderful lounge area. Excellent small theater experience.
Great show. Superb acting.
Small venue but out standing performances
Great space with a varied repertoire
I love this theater, the play was pretty bad but Ill check out another show.
