I love this sweet dive bar on 6th, the staff is so friendly and the talent that comes through is off the wall, got to see lil flip crizzly and Doughboy last night and looking forward to the Goldie show soon!-)

Saw DJ Dan here last weekend. The bartenders were super friendly. The sounds was not great throughout the whole club, but in front of the DJ it was good. Get rid of the dancers and the little platforms they dance on. No one cares about that anymore. Just use that space for people who come to dance.

New owners have given the place a great facelift. Its clean and smells good, has fresh paint, and they have a new sound system!The staff is quick, consistent, and friendly, but dont tolerate any BS from rowdy patrons. Its nice to feel safe at a bar on 6th street knowing that potentially dangerous people will be quickly removed.

Owner cares more about his own ego than customer experience. with all the clubs in a stones throw from here this is the last one you want to spend your money at.

Great place, unfortunately alot of people review bombing this place as of yesterday because of one person, but if you read the reviews from before almost all recommend it as a fun bar. The owner has been a good host so far so dont trust the reviews and go check the place out yourself if you enjoy edm music.

Horrible staff, speakers sound really bad, the floor is sticky and reeks of spilt beer that wasn’t cleaned up. Went to support and was treated rudely by the owner and bar staff. Would give 0/5 if possible.

We went there on a Saturday night,The DJ was killing it. Great music to dance to and just chill and hang out too. Lone star $2-$3 if you wanna take the cheap way out,lol. Bartenders were on top of it. Didnt have to wait long on drinks. Positive energy - Plenty of room to dance!

Personal bad experience in the past with a friend who was drugged.. new owners supposedly took over & I was excited to cautiously make a reappearance. Immediately received news about a friend with a bad experience yet again just after opening.. DO. NOT. GO.

Owner geno has a huge ego, save your money. Much better venues and soundsystems in austin besides this one.

Got denied entry because I called out the guy working the door for having a bad attitude. Come to find out he was the owner. Avoid this place like the black plague.

They charged me $20 at the door for cover, which whatever, I guess. However, I walked in to an empty room. 0/10 would never recommend.

This place is my weekend chill spot. Great staff, down to interact more than just making a drink and then forgetting your face. Underground hip hop with ridiculous bass reverb. Door guys out front are pretty cool. Usually always have good local DJs that know how to keep the music with the atmosphere, but you can tell when its someone from out of town. Bar man Bruce has a crazy ability to make custom drinks based on what your feelin for the night.

Out of all the bars and venues that are located on 6th st, this is by far the worst one. Do not go here!

It was fun coming here once... not so fun after that. Nice vibe initially, but the layout got old. Good acoustics.

The bass cave. Whether sober or a little checked-out, standing next to the speakers in the middle of a mind blowing set inside this (literally) underground, dive-y, sticker-inundated cocoon will shoot you straight into another universe. I dont know what it is about them, but the promoters/owners have a knack for pulling artists that usually dont even come close to Texas. Staff is really chill and unpretentious compared to similar venues, too. This is a really special little place.

It was crowded, hot, and induced claustrophobia since the ceilings were so close. The music wasnt bad but nothing special and the people inside seemed ruder and generally less aware of boundaries but that could have just been that night.Fortunately, the drinks were reasonably priced and the bar wasnt overly crowded despite the number of people inside. Make sure you count your change if you pay with cash. Its so dark that occasionally the bills get mistaken.

Basement bar with stone walls. We were in there late on a Friday night and there wasnt of a crowd. Neat place except the bathroom. Bass in music vibrates bathrooms so much it hurts to be in there for very long.

I bet we just went on a bad night but I wasnt impressed by this place. It doesnt look as nice as the pictures do. The music was good and there was alot of dance room. However, the floors were nasty and sticky, theres no where to sit or put your stuff down if you came with a group. With that being said the staff was awesome! I would go back on a different night to see if things were any different

My favorite bass club in the city. Barcelona is where I go when I want to feel like Im somewhere else in the world, anywhere else but Austin. You could be in London, Prague, Barcelona, Munich, Paris, or Osaka.I bring people here every year when I want to show them something theyll not soon forget, and cant find nearly anywhere else in the city. Ive seen the likes of Caspa, Rusko, Skream, Disclosure, Jackmaster, and the Teklife crew slay here.

Be prepared to be vibrated by their bass as the place is a basment

Visited this location after midnight on a Saturday. really good music with a good vibe and solid DJ. However it was really dark and the drinks were not cheap compared to other bars on dirty 6th

Admittedly, I dont hate Barcelona. They have fun music and good late-night dancing a plenty. The door guy is even good-humored. Though honestly what I enjoy the most is the mellowing incense that they smoke the place out with.

Venue treats patrons and perforners terribly, would never spend a dime here

Every time I tried going to this venue, it was always empty. I would get a drink to see if anyone showed up and the drinks were always very watered down. I paid $8 for soda with a hint of vodka.

Harsh service. When I asked for a lone star they asked me to leave. If you like new york service in Austin this is the place. If you like Austin for being uniquely awesome stay away.

This is such a great spot, its underground with booming base and dance offs. Edm and hip-hop are the go to here

A great place for underground music vibes. Please bring ear plugs with you if you plan on standing on the dancefloor. Those speakers are powerful and will shake your brain out of your ear. Otherwise, standing by the bar on either side of the dancefloor is your best bet.

My double whiskey coke was a little watered down. My friends tried to order two drinks, they gave them one, and when asked for the second the bartender rolled his eyes and then made a comment to the other bartender. The drinks were not even made right for them or our other friends that were with us. I understand it is busy for SXSW, but they were unprofessional.

Intimate venue for EDM

One of Barcelonas bartender FRAUDULENTLY added a $10 tip to my credit card transaction. If you want to come here - just know that theyre going to RIP YOU OFF and STEAL YOUR MONEY.Not only was I overcharged for 6 awful shots, I left them a voicemail waiting for a response to resolve their bartenders thievery but they never got back to me. Absolutely ridiculous. In case you needed more of a reason to not go to 6th street, Barcelona nightclub is it. Their stall doors to the womens restroom dont shut, Ive been there when there was water about an inch high on the restroom floor and of course THEY ARE GOING TO STEAL FROM YOU.

I understand that a bar needs to have dancing but the speakers were so loud that I feel myself shaking from the vibrations. The entire thing is closed so the sound echos and its just so loud. The bars arent too busy so its fast to get drinks.

Underground bar with the sickest electronic music around. They typically hire very different, very innovative djs. Its always hardcore, and always a good time. Oh, and by underground, I mean its literally underground.

Massive sound system probably has more subs than any place I have ever been. Add that to putting them all in a cave-like basement space and the bass is just incredible. Great sound. Also saw quality DJs for real electronic music lovers. Check their facebook and local websites for DJ schedules. Quality venue and well regulated amount of people by the door people.

Mostly good music. They need to take it easy on the volume. I have to move away from the speakers for fear it would blow out my eardrums. Smoke machine is lame.

This place is better for the weekday nights than it is for weekends, just because it has to appease the 6th street crowd on the weekend. I forgive you. Dubstep church (aka: Mad Classy) for your 3-day weekend on Sunday nights. I would have to say my favorite is the Thursday, aptly named Irresponsible Voltron electro, drum-n-bass, and dubstep mix just because of the eclectic blend, but not for the hangover on Friday morning, x_x. The basement feel of this club makes it really cozy and the coolest spots, if they are not actually occupied by artists, are the VIP areas right underneath the street up in front and over in the corner above the dance floor. Love the bass-cave!
