This place was so so much fun! I took my daughter here as a birthday surprise. I inquired about the experience prior to going and was informed that we could bring wardrobe changes. Cool! They staff was all super nice and they had fun music playing. My daughter’s favorite part was the giant ball pit! While we were there, another customer lost her phone in the ball pit. The staff was super helpful and helped her look for it. It took a lot of effort but they actually found it! I kind of found that funny. After the experience we each got a free ice cream treat! I know next month they are hosting a taco theme. I think this is super creative and a fun time for adults and kids.
We came here on a rainy Monday. Not a lot of people so it was nice to have the rooms to ourselves. Staff were friendly. There was a giant ball pit! We were encouraged to take tons of pictures. I wonder if that would be the case if it was busier. We got a scoop of ice cream from moojo as part of our admission fee of $27/person. I personally like FOMO factory better. The lighting could be better but they have great rooms and props
Yooooo this popup is lit! I went with my bestie as part of her birthday celebration and it is definitely Instagram friendly all throughout the place! The creativity behind it is was well thought out and the staff there were amazing. They offered to take pictures of us for IG, Snapchat, and other social platforms. Id definitely recommend this to family and friends to check out.
My friends and I went to the Austin iteration of The Art of Ice Cream a few weeks ago and it was an underwhelming experience to say the least. The promotion and marketing is completely misleading and sets unrealistic expectations of what the experience is like in reality. The venue is dirty, poorly managed and its so obvious that this was put together in a rush on a low budget. I asked for a refund and the owner said she would issue it but it was never processed (although my friends got it). I ended up having to call my credit card company to dispute the charge because the owner never responded to my inquiry about the refund again.Do not waste your money on this! You should got get a nice meal instead. Here are all the reasons why you should not waste your money:-Before we entered the employee by the front door explained the rules and got us excited about the popsicle and ice cream that will be served inside (another unrealistic expectation)-Once inside, we were immediately disappointed by the low-budget cardboard look and feel of the entire place and saw evidence of poor craftsmanship and management-The lighting was a disaster and really depressing (the owner claims they hired professional photography lighting experts. if this is true, then she should get her money back because the lighting sucks in there!)-There was also a bathroom with the door wide open which was really disgusting because thats the last thing you want to see in a place called The Art of Ice Cream-The popsicle was not even a popsicle. They are actually flavored ice sticks which you can get 100 for $3.99. I thought popsicles came on a stick???-Ice cream cups on the wall were held up by thumbtacks that kept coming off-You can still see the line marks and notes for colors under the poor paint job-The ball pits looked really dirty and especially unsanitary with the terrible lighting-Unfinished flooring which would typically be okay in this case made the entire place look like a poorly kept basement-The cheap ice cream served at the end of this horrible experience was half melted. They cant even keep the ice cream frozen properly. Also, the area where the ice cream was served was so disgusting (see photos)The whole point of this experience was to have photos that we can Instagram (at least thats what they claim and guarantee on their promotional materials), but none of us walked away with any photos that we can share. I have seen murals and art installations on the street that are far better than what I saw yesterday here.
So I read the reviews before going here for a fun ice cream themed photoshoot.Let the photoshoots know the lighting may not be good.Seriously this place had so much to work with we didnt even get to shoot in all of the spots.Rhonda ( I believe that was her name) nice lady she she was really a joy to have working there. She let us take our time and let us play in the ball pit.I wish there were more places like this in Austin. Here are a few photos but feel free to check out my ig: @candybaebie
I scream for ICE CREAM! This place was so fun! Kid friendly! Saw a lot of baby photo shoots. It had so many photo opportunities! So they give you 15 minutes PER room. Theres 3 large rooms. So DONT forget your camera! Theres a throne room! Confetti shower! HUGE ball pit! Theres a beach area with FLAMINGOS and a boxing ring made out of giant ice cream cones!!! Theres also freebies of ice cream and popsicles. My girlfriends and I had so much fun taking pictures especially in the FLOATING ice cream cone room. We did the best BOOMERANGS! We also took pictures in a giant banana split canoe!
This place is not here anymore.
Had an amazing time with my best friend and daughters. The staff was amazing, very friendly helped us get the best angles. We got some awesome pics(thank you amon)! Our favorite was the confetti shower! Fun vibes here! Would definitely recommend.
This was such a fun experience! My best friend and I had an amazing time taking pictures and goofing around. Amon and Rhonda were so gracious and super willing to help us take pictures together! Would definitely go again with other friends!
I give it 4.5 Stars. The props are fun, the lighting is good, my only complaint, if you can even call it that, is I wish there were real bubbles in the pink bath tub. A bubble machine would be a great photo prop. Overall, we had a great time and its definitely worth the visit.
Fun place, the photo backdrops were varied and cute. I would go with friends and plan on taking lots of photos. You do get ice cream, but not an ice cream shop. If you have an imagination and enough self confidence to strike a pose, its a lot of fun.
Lots of fun. The exhibits are colorful and the staff is great suggesting photos. I read earlier reviews and dont know if theyve installed new lighting, but we didnt have any issues with lighting. As a matter of fact the lighting looked like photography studio lighting, plus there were several selfie halos available. The experience is definitely about taking photos for social media and not eating ice cream.
This place is really what you make out of it. We arrived in a group of 5. Everyone of us was photogenic. We had fun with it. We didn’t just stand by the object or background and take a quick picture. We did boomerangs too! The key is to snap so many pictures that you get at least 6-7 good ones. Also arrive in a big group because you’ll have so much fun and someone to take your picture. In the beginning you’ll receive a gold token for ice cream which are popsicles but you can upgrade for a dollar more. Also bring your kids! My niece and son really enjoyed themselves!
Fun and creative, a place to take some silly, fun, colorful pictures with friends or family. Its a bit pricey considering after an hour so the experience is finished. Its not an actual ice cream parlor though! So though you can get a frozen treat there, plan to go elsewhere to get the ice cream youre sure to want afterwards.
Stopped in thinking an enormous ice cream shop had opened next to my house. The guy up front was rad enough to give me some birthday cake ice cream for the road, thanks man! Looks like a pretty cool art exhibit with a huge ball pit in the middle.
I recently went to Austin with 10 of my friends for a girls trip... One of our first stops was the Art of Ice Cream Experience. And we had a blast! We were greeting at the door by a friendly dark haired girl who quickly showed us in and explained how everything worked! We all got cute pics in front of all the art. I have been to a bunch of pop ups and this was for sure one of my favs. Would highly recommend for a fun night out with the girls for something different!
This place was cute but definitely not worth the price. They were low on ice cream treats as well and only had drumsticks and a couple m&m sandwiches. Got some cute pics but pretty disappointed.
NOT WORTH IT! Unless you want to waste your money. Went today with friends and family and I have to say that I was surprised with the poor setup they have compared to other Art of Ice Cream Experiences. They will give you an Ice Pop and at the end a cup of ice cream that was really bad. 30 mins and you are out!
An interesting experience...very vivid..Lots of fun activities...and lots of taco themed photo ops
Don’t waste your money!!!! Literally 3 rooms of pictures of ice cream on the wall. If it weren’t for the tiny ball pit and my child having a little bit of fun in it I would’ve asked for my money back. I can’t believe they’re asking 25 dollars a person it should be like 5 dollars if that.
The staff was wonderful, but the experience itself was not great. We had fun, but the lighting was HORRIBLE. Im just glad I wasnt the one to pay for the tickets. Definitely not worth it the price imo.
They had some cute photo opportunities but not anything compared to the Pop-ups in California. This location was small and the exhibits were not that cute. The whole thing you could walk through in 5 minutes. We were never offered ice cream and the employees were very awkward because the space was so small they were staring at us the whole time. The whole experience was too expensive for what it was. It was 25$ and should have been 5$.
Overpriced but the staff were kindThe lighting is not enough for iPhone photos if thats youre plan. There was a group here with there own lighting and a professional camera. It would be great for that use.
Called customer service on behalf of my friend - Debi (or Debby) was absolutely fantastic as a rep. Swift and efficient.
This is a very well designed and fun place to go with friends or kids. Dress cute because you’re ur going to be taking several pictures!
Cool rooms, not as cramped as other pop ups. Staff was very friendly and helpful
Impressive customer service when I had an issue with my tickets. Art of Ice cream went above and beyond! Thanks:)
Very impressed with the staff especially Dustin and Daniel.I came from out out town with my son to see my sister and try out the AOICE. We scheduled our time for 2 on Friday last week. Anyways my morning was terrible. Driving up here and other events happening out of my control, by the time I got to our scheduled appointment, it was raining and my son from the start was not having it and I was already stressed out. My son was having a full blown tantrum. We came in and right away Dustin was offering to help. He tried to give my son balloons, a popsicle, make him laugh, etc. Well we still tried to take photos and my son still was not having it, nothing was calming him down. So after 20mins, we gave up. I felt defeated and even started to cry a little myself because the whole entire day was full of bad event after another.I am giving a 5 star review because no matter what, Dustin tried to help us out in so many possible ways. He even offered to take my son to the ball pit while me and my sister tried to take photos. But I declined because I knew my son was just not going to calm down. Dustin didn’t have to do any of the things he did. He offered a helping hand and I can’t ever thank him enough! Acted as well in a very professional manner and was very polite. After we advised him we were just going to leave, he offered to reschedule our appointment! Thank you Dustin!I also called on my way back home and spoke with the Manager Daniel, who as well was very polite and professional and helped me sent up a new appointment!!Thank you guys! Can’t wait to retry this experience!
I was really excited to go AoI, and once I got there, it wasnt what I expected. It was nighttime, and the lighting inside was not the best. The ball pit was actually fun, but I thought there would be rainbow balls like the pictures in phoenix. The confetti shower was really gross. So much hair and dirt everywhere. $25 seemed like a lot.
It was super small. And I read reviews that said there were at least 3 opportunities for the dessert snacks, but we were only offered the small scoop of ice cream at the end. Of course we didnt come here just for the ice cream, but for the photo opportunities. There was so sign that showed the entrance. We ended up walking in the exit and sitting there for a couple of mins before someone came and told us we were in the wrong area. Check in was outside and then we were told there would be people inside helping with photos. The first room had no one, so it was a little confusing. It was just three big rooms that was divided up to a couple of small photo areas. Got through it in about 15 mins. Not at all worth the 25 dollar ticket. I think it is more worth maybe $10? Or even less.
Had a great time today, the staff were awesome! The mist fun i had in a while.
This place is not worth the ticket price AT ALL! They tell you that you have 1 hour to be in the facility, however once youre in there, they rush you through the 3 rooms. We were told our time was up and that we had to leave, yet we still had 20 minutes left on our time. Save your money and take pictures outside instead!
The lighting was not the best, and I think it was honestly overpriced. Still I took some good pictures and had a fun time but I was definitely expecting better.
It is for sure not worth the money for this, maybe like $5. It’s tiny, dirty, unorganized. Fun for like 5 minutes and then ur over it lol
Super fun for little tots and the staff is available to take the pictures for families!
Absolutely horrible experience; cannot believe they charge money for this. Dirty, dark, run-down. It was like they threw the whole thing together in 30 mins with a $100 budget. Absolutely do not go to this.
I bought 4 tickets before they opened. Unfortunately we couldnt go after the postponed start date. I have emailed twice for my refund over a month ago and havent recieved it yet. This is complete b.s.!!! Originally they said it would be back in my account withIN a couple days. Ive tried to dispute it with my bank but its gone pass the 30 day period since purchase. You should all really be ashamed for comitting robbery.
Such a fun and immersive experience!
Great photo backdrops, lighting is good, If your looking for new, colorful photo opps, take a friend and have some fun. This is not about eating ice cream.
Made out to be similar to MoIC, it is a poor knockoff. there is exposed wiring, poor lighting for some exhibits while very harsh lighting for others. the site was another establishment and has weird cabinets and a mediocre paint job attempting to cover that.this should be $10/person max, otherwise you should avoid.
Please dont buy tickets for this austin one. It was a joke, the place was dirty, the lighting was horrible. Half of the exhibits were in poor condition. I wouldnt pay 5 dollars for this, let alone 25. Its a rip off.
So many cute places to take photos!!
Amazing rooms. Fun place to be.
Don’t waste your money. I wouldn’t pay $1 for this experience. SUCH A RIP OFF!!!!!!!!
$20 for backdrops?? Not an ice cream shop!
To expensive, just for take a quite pictures.
Abandoned & closed down.
