Dont forget to bring your see through bags tho, granted they provide them for you on your way into the facility! I love all the Broadway musicals that come through this place and the warm spirit of everyone who works here! Thanks for providing such a great experience no matter which seat youre in!

We went to see the Broadway musical Dear Evan Hanson at the Bass Concert Hall. We parked near the LBJ Library for fifteen dollars and cut across to the concert hall. After security screening, we found our seats with the help of very pleasant docents, and enjoyed a most modern story with a sad, but relevant theme. The venue is amazing for sound!

This venue is really nice and it sounds great inside! Its a little tough to see the act from the 6th floor. Also if you dont feel like walking up six flights of stairs, good luck. The elevators get really packed for the amount of people that want to use them so keep that in mind. The legroom isnt that great for people six feet and taller. The one thing that sucks is the parking. These people charge you $15 to park in a spot on Robert Dedman when you dont have to pay any other time, thats highway robbery!Other than that I enjoyed the venue. The parking issue made the experience terrible.

Worth driving from San Antonio to Austin on a Thursday night.UPDATE: I was fortunate enough to catch Thursdays 1:00 oclock performance of Aladdin ... although we missed the first three songs due to traffic issues. Saw Les Miserables here on 9.12.19 with my husband and we were incredibly disappointed. The venue’s acoustics are horrible. The music was being played so loud that it was extremely difficult to understand the lyrics of any of the songs. My husband has seen the movie and I have not, but we were both completely lost throughout the show and had no clue what was happening. To make it worse, the people seeing the show were incredibly rude and were constantly getting up and down out of their seats. People were using phones during the show as well, which has never happened when I’ve seen shows in NYC, LA, or Boston. As others have mentioned the lighting on stage was really poor, as were the special effects so it was very difficult to see.The seats are spaced very far apart. When you sit down in theaters in NYC or Boston, many times your knees are extremely close to the back of the seat in front of you. This can be a bit uncomfortable, but it’s a much better viewing experience because the seats at the back of the orchestra section are much closer to the front.Tickets were obviously cheaper than they would be in a top city, but still a waste of money nonetheless.Avoid this venue - save up and see shows in a top city if you want a good experience.

The hall itself isnt so bad, as long as you are one the ground floor. The chairs in the balconies are small and miserable, not to mention how steep and dangerous the stairs to get to the seats. Even with ushers lighting the way with flashlights, my husband still fell. And if you have small children, Id stay away from the balconies, especially closer to the front seating in the balconies. Very good location. Had a hiccup with the location of the parking garage, but that’s separate than this. We had went off of the location given when printing the parking passes for the event. FYI, if going to the San Jacinto garage, just type that in specifically so you won’t go to the wrong location. The address that it gave originally had taken us to the San Antonio Garage, (that’s not the correct one).Anywho! The bass hall was very clean and well organized. There were a lot of people there willing to help, especially if you looked confused. It was fairly easy to get in and find the seats and the restroom. Bass is probably one of my least favorite theatres/concert halls to visit. The whole venue needs to be update. The signage is not obvious in the main lobby, so several people get turned around, unsure of where they need to go. The seating inside the theatre doesnt allow for people to get by easily when someone arrives late. This causes everyone in the long rows to get up for that person blocking vision behind those rows.

My husband and I went to this facility to see stand up comedian, Jo Koy. We were really worried there was going to be no parking with this being in down town Austin. They proved us wrong! They has a rather large parking garage just a hop, skip and a jump away from the hall. When we got there, it was very clean and well put together. Including the bathrooms, and we all know that doesnt happen often. All of the staff was very courteous and helpful. Tje is one and only reason they are not getting 5 stars, is we were crammed into the theater like sardines. There wasnt much leg room, and the seats were very uncomfortable. But in all honesty, it was such a great experience, I wouldnt even second guess going back again!!!!!!!!

I received tickets from @YelpAustin to see Come From Away this evening and I have to say that the experience was truly rewarding. My wife and I made a date of it--and found free parking not too far away if you dont mind a small walk to Bass Concert Hall at UT from the back-in spots on Dean Keaton. The San Jacinto parking garage is a little closer for $15 and I saw Valet available too. Honestly, I think the way to go is to eat at the Carillon (ATT Conference Center restaurant) on the other side of the stadium (free validated parking) and the leisurely walk on up or take a 2-min. Lyft. The 3-course tasting menu with paired drinks is my fave at the Carillon, but I digress. Bass Concert Hall is a great venue and this Broadway musical in Austin was real fun. I think I need to get season tickets as everytime I come to something, I always say I should get out more with cultural things in Austin. Drinks are expensive at Bass, as is food, so it really is worth dropping that $$ at the Carillon before hand--a hidden Austin gem.

Recently saw Hamilton, and had a blast. Also saw Wicked here. Of course, the closer you are to the stage, the better the experience will be. But, if you sit in the very back, like we did, I recommend bringing a pair of binoculars (or you can rent a pair for $5 at the guest center). They have pretty expensive food in the lobby area, but it can be nice to splurge on a snack and drink before the show. However, no food is allowed in the theatre. Also, get there 30-45 minutes early, and DO NOT buy from 3rd party vendors to avoid the risk of inflated prices or counterfeit tickets. Parking was around $12 per vehicle.
