Went to actually look for the entrance for the Titan 1 Missle silo. Didnt wanna stray from the path given all the snakes and brush. Plus... Its tress passing. But saw some cool Coyotes and a LOT of fire ants on the trail. Was a nice trail but for sure stay on the path like the other reviews say.
No dogs so its a quiet area and a nice tail to walk! Its like being in the middle of nowhere yet youre right in the city, plus theres even a porter potty!
The trail was recently expanded the trail here. Great place to catch nature close to Aurora.
Great natural area just east of Aurora Reservoir on Quincy. This area is split by Quincy and each side has different personalities. The North side is a single track hiking trail and dogs are not allowed. We saw several coyotes on a recent hike, and got very near a coyote den near the end of the trail. There is also a small wetland area where you will see a lot of birds. The south side is actually a trail that follows a closed dirt road. This side is more suitable for families with young kids. Very smooth road would be great for baby strollers. We saw a lot of pronghorns and deer on this south side trail. Aurora really should allow dogs on the south side trail. One very welcome amenity in the central parking lot is a very clean port-a-potty.
Nice easy trail. Sad we didnt get to see many animals but not a bad spot for being so close to civilization.
Its a path thru a field beside a landfill
Decent little parking area, although it is made of rocks and not good for sport cars.
Beautiful. Quiet. No dogs allowed though.
Loved it
Beautiful scenery.
Peaceful
