Got my Aurora Cocoa (Non) Crawl 2020 mug here this morning. Very nice clerk wrapped them up for me. Have toured the museum with Cub Scouts a worthwhile and interesting outing for kids and families.
Its a great and VERY INTERESTING place to visit. Craig was very nice and very informative. Take the time to visit, and learn the history of our Aurora Firehouse.
This was a neat place. Very informative and awesome to take a look back in time. We only wish it was a tad more interactive. Im sure it would be if Covid-19 wasnt a factor. Overall we enjoyed our visit.
Interesting history of the local fire Department and history of the fire department vehicles through the years. Child friendly with push button screens.
A delightful experience for both children and adults. The interactive displays were fun and I enjoyed that there werent just plaques to read, but videos that played at each small display. It only took us an hour or so to go through it, but if you have kids, there is a room upstairs with blocks and pretend fire gear so they may keep you awhile. As a 911 dispatcher, it was fun to see all the things the FD had to do before newer technology, and there was even a small room detailing how they used to dispatch themselves before a dedicated 911 center was built and technology created to make 911 work.
This museum is all things related to fire-fighting, from the early days (wooden water pipes, hand-pumps, and horse stalls are on display) to modern times. They have a number of trucks and engines restored and displayed on the first floor. Upstairs, you get a peek into the lifestyle and the equipment that firefighters have.I used to attend the annual Gingerbread FIREhouse contest and displays, but that is no longer part of the tradition. They do have a family story-night that is great for the younger audiences, though!
I liked the Regional Firehouse it was my first time there and Ive in Aurora off and on since I was about 7yrs of age and Im 72yrs old now and I found it very interesting.
I am torn between a 3 and 4. My husband and I go to the casino a couple times a year and kept saying we would go to this museum. Finally, we stopped being all talk and went. We both left feeling a little underwhelmed. Dont get me wrong. The main floor was great. Tons of information. Neat interactive displays. The older fire trucks were interesting. Beyond the main showroom, there was little to see. Im not exactly sure what we were expecting, but it was maybe a little different than what we got. Decent for a one-time, 30 to 45-minute cheap something to do.
Small but interesting museum displaying the history of fire fighting in America and specifically Aurora with authentic equipment from the past two centuries in the actual central fire house. Many hands on exhibits are available for inquisitive minds explaining techniques used over the years. And a playroom on the second floor lets kids of all ages interact with fire safety toys and books. My 3 and 6 y/o grandkids really enjoyed themselves.
A great value for $5 dollars. We really enjoyed our time there and learned new things. A must for anyone coming to Aurora.
Small museum filled with lots of information and history. Staff is very helpful. Very family friendly and fun for kids!
Its a small museum, you will find memorabilia, facts and when I went there was people dressed as soldiers maybe they are real soldiers. over all it was nice
My 10 year old enjoyed it, even had a Lego and Playroom upstairs. We took advantage of the free museum night and trolley and had a great time.
Really interesting displays! The building itself is an antique. They have rooms for meetings. I actually went there to hear a speaker, but enjoyed exploring the museum afterwards.
Was a nice museum. My 4 year grandson loved the large play room. Lots of fire trucks and fun things to play with. Will definitely go again.
Love A-town history
This place is chock full of fire fighting memorabilia. A welcome change from typical modern museums with no artifacts, only audio/visuals. Fake museums.
First time there. We took our 15 month old grandson and mom. Had a blast. Very cool museum and hands on kids area on 2nd floor kept grandson busy and happy. Great place. Friendly person at desk.
Cayla was super informative for my tour with my class. They had fun and learned alot.
Cheap, very nice staff and alot of history to learn about. Kids really enjoyed it
A fun little place to explore with little ones.
It was nice a good place to take the kids but there wasnt alot of things to see
Really cool museum to learn about the history of fire fighting in the region!
I visited as a crafter in their craft show affiliated with the magic fest and the staff of the facility was very kind, friendly and accommodating. I will definitely have to return and check it out when theyve got all of their artifacts and displays back up in a traditional fashion. I also give high praise to the organizers of the craft show since they did a great job having a variety of different artists and crafters at the event.
Unique place I didnt even know existed
We went at the wrong day for story time. Looked nice.
Ok people this place is the bomb. The history and fire trucks on display are outstanding. Be sure to check out the second floor. Theres a hot stud up there in uniform. Hes quiet but hes sweet on the eyes.
Cute little museum with fire trucks as old as in the 1800s. Upstairs has a big discovery room for kids.
Small mesuem but its packed with lots of fun and exciting materials. Great family place that has a lot of information and artifacts to display with amazing staff !!!!
A VERY INTERESTING TIME
Cool place to check out in Aurora
I have lived in Aurora all my life and never been here. Enjoyed the place with my daughter and her class
A fun place for families with or without kids to learn about fire fighting, for safety, and history!
We are so glad the historical fire station was preserved everyone should see it
I guess this place will fascinate everyone who is interested in the topic in general. Although I am not one of those fire lovers, I was still intrigued. The way the staff organise the visiting process and the maintenance is admirable. Thank you for the experience!
One of the old time firehouses redone with equipment and stories galore. Well educated guides to help out with questions or just to fill in the blanks.

It was. Good inspiration from the old times and it was fun
Well executed and interesting. Great for all ages!
Dave, the museum curator, did an outstanding job making this piece of history come to life. Whether or not youre a firefighter this exhibit is poised to show how firefighting has evolved through the years and guaranteed to put a smile on everyones face.
We arrived on a Friday during the early afternoon, so the museum was empty except for a few incredibly helpful volunteers/curators. They quickly introduced us to the exhibits and the history of the museum, and asked for a bit of basic information about where we are from. They did note that the museum is largely funded by donations, so be sure to bring a bit of cash along to drop into the box before you walk the exhibit floor. The stations are set up based on 3 major time periods, with touch screens and hands-on history for children (or children-at-heart). Take your time reading through the text and looking at the pictures to get the full experience--the museum is small, and not reading these items will result in a very quick (almost unnecessary) visit. The most worthwhile part, for this reviewer, was the 3 classic fire engines (4 counting the steam-powered horse driven model) restored and presented on the museum floor. The small exhibit upstairs detailing items received from the Smithsonian and the purpose of museums in general seems a bit out of place, and very incomplete/in need of more specific purpose/curation. Hopefully that collection gets better funded so that a more permanent version with a more central vision can take place and help the items received fit more clearly into the museum.
Love it has so much to learn and know about Aurora
It is a very interesting place
Wonderful museum!!!! Enjoyed our visit!!!
