Visited this evening for 90s burlesque; show was comical and Id say worthwhile drinks and food however ... Way overpriced for whats offered. Fondue is actually just a cheese sauce with way too much roux served in a mason jar with raw mushrooms for dipping. Friend ordered an old fashioned which was basically Seagrams, soda water and an orange slice with maraschino cherry. We waited over an hour for our food. We felt really bad for the staff as they clearly didnt have enough to serve the crowd. They also were out of some menu items which we were not told about until we went to order them. We did let the management know we werent happy with our food or drinks and they did compensate and admit it wasnt their best service. Been here in the past without leaving a review, but had a similar experience. Ordered dessert fondue and the fruit was clearly cut on the same cutting board as onions, as everything tasted like onions... So again, servers do their best with what they have but, sadly, not worth the time or money. If you want to come, stick to beer (but ask if they *actually* have it. They ran out of Baxter, one of their only 2 taps, while we were there).
Dining in the Dark was a fantastic experience! The service was spot on and the food was delicious! Thank you for making it a memorable evening!
Literally the most amazing place in town!!! It is a quaint speakeasy type restaurant. They serve delicious fondue and to die for drinks. Staff is friendly and the owners almost always check to ensure their guests are happy with every aspect of the visit. They do host paint events and burlesque shows. If you are looking for a fun night out that is outside the normal chain restaurant, this is your place!!! Ive been several times and never left let down.
Very low key type atmosphere until the show starts. Then you immersed in this elaborate well put together show. This is incredibly original. If you are able to have an open mind then everyone should have the chance to experience this venue!
I went to the dining in the dark with my significant other and we had a blast. He said it was the most fun he has had in a long time. The experience truly is one of a kind and the food is delicious! The owner and staff were extremely professional and welcoming. Great atmosphere!
Awesome Place! The shows are amazing and the food is really good! Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time as walk ins are not always available.
Great staff, awesome experience and the food is just right. The show was better than expected. Thank you for the venue and attention to every detail.
Absolutely loved my first visit. The decor is beautiful, the food was amazing, staff was friendly, and the owner was a sweet heart! Nice to have something a little different in Auburn!. Will definitely return and look forward to seeing some of their shows!
Got to be one of the worst fondue, and experience Ive had in a long time. So bad that it was comical. We got the buffalo fondue, house ale fondue, and house cooking plate. The buffalo was ice cold, and the cooking plate was a skillet with burnt steak and burnt bacon wrapped scallops. The scallops were so burnt a fork couldnt even pierce it.Service was mediocre at best. She was nice but never had waters refilled and when we mentioned the issues with the food she just walked away.
I had the pleasure of doing a promo with them the building was absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere was great, the service was great and they were very helpful, the food was absolutely phenomenal and as delicious as I have heard it was. I will definitely be going back.
LAVA House has delicious food and great drink selections, a wonderful crew of employees, and fun and entertaining shows on Fri/Sat. They even have a paint night! I highly recommend it to anyone in the Auburn area.
Once again another wonderful evening spent with great people and amazing food in a spectacular venue. If you havent given Lava a visit, dont hesitate, make your reservations today!
Breakfast was awful. Burnt potatoes no biscuits. Service was slow and we were the only ones in there.
Had a great night with my husband. Food and painting, so much fun.
So we went there for a birthday dinner last Saturday night. I ordered the bacon wrapped scallops and steak dinner. The scallops were delivered to the table charred completely, mind you its served on a hot stone so you can finish cooking at your table. When the waitress came back to ask how it was I said, not good. She just gave us a weird look and turned and walked away without saying anything. Our friends food wasnt enjoyable either. Overall extremely dissappointed. Maybe the entertainment offsets the lack of food but we were there for dinner only and found it to be a terrible experience. I guess at the very least it was a birthday dinner I wont soon forget.
Excellent brunch and staff service outstanding...
We love bacon!! And Melissa was wonderful
