This museum was great! You can tell that the staff really cares about the history and making this museum a popular destination. The curator that have us a tour of the Case laboratory was charming and enthusiastic, you can tell he loves educating people and conveying the rich history of Auburn. A few of the rooms were a little eclectic at the moment, the planned exhibit had to be changed due to COVID restrictions, it was supposed to be very hands on. This is a must see if youre a history buff! Do not miss the guided tour of the Case laboratory or the second floor discussing the prison. They stayed open late for us to look at the second floor - the staff was amazing and did not rush us at all!
Very cool history of talking film! Beautiful mansion!
There are so many interesting things to see at the Cayuga Museum and Case Research Lab. Its the site where sound on film was invented -- literally a world-changing invention. Its the former home of a prominent doctor and philanthropist, whose family is responsible for the Auburn Theological Seminary and the Willard Chapel. Its home to the states oldest Ginkgo tree. The permanent exhibit about the Auburn prison boasts many interesting artifacts. And the Carriage House Theater boasts wonderful performances from regional artists. I highly recommend a visit, and please consider a membership!
Great local Museum full of fun facts. Some permanent displays along with an ever changing display that keeps it fresh. There is often neat events including first Friday of every month that includes free admission and refreshments. The carriage house is a very cool extension that hosts more events and can be rented out for private events for very modest fee.
Great little facility for a band or show. They offer drinks and its great to support local business and keep the history of Auburn alive. My only comment is that some shows like those where the performers may be on the floor and such if you are sitting further than the first couple rows you wont be able to see due to how it is set up. If the stage were set a little higher it would be perfect.
Such a cool museum. Who knew that almost all of our media is thanks to a man named Case in Auburn, NY. Really cool exhibits and awesome art!
I love this place for many reason. I loved that my family was able to be apart of the Families from Italy focus. They are also amazing with the community and children . Right in The main road. Easy parking and an interesting stop!

Great information on our past.
Doing a great job of telling the history of Auburn and the surrounding area.
Interesting exhibits and info on how the Case family helped create movie sound.
Great spot to see artifacts and relics from the Finger Lakes areas history. Great art displays and an all around beautiful old house to walk through.
Love this place nice house
Very welcoming
Not much art, but an interesting exhibit centered on 100th anniversary of WWI. Be sure to go out back to the lab where the first real talking picture technology was developed.
Definitely worth a trip for the Case Laboratory and the little known story of the creation of talking pictures. Case figures out how to put the audio track on the film.
