Really pretty woodland trail. Not very long and not only slight gradients so suitable for all ages. Marshland or boardwalk is currently closed and alot of the boardwalk is sunken into the lake/stream. I found out the hard way. Lol all in all enjoyable! Some lovely places to picnic or camp. The gazebo area near the parking lot has free books to read while there, which is very nice. And a coal BBQ area.
[please like if this is helpful]A beautiful park with six small cabins, community house, pavilion, clean restroom, marked trail systems. All recently updated, with much volunteer work done by various Boy Scout troops.Heaps of love went into making this a usable nature preserve for the public.Lots of poison ivy just about everywhere (even at the trailhead). I dont recommend walking your sweet puppy here, nor letting small kids stray near the edges of the trails.Still worth going -- learn about nature .. enjoy the beauty. No cost for parking as of date of this review.
One of Oakland Counties best kept secrets!I have frequented this park year round for many years. Beautiful, well maintained, and I always see wildlife. The trails meander through forest, marsh and theres a sizable pond there too. Cant wait to see the new nature center lodge. Oh, and my dogs love it too!
Absolutely beautiful nature setting, with clean bathroom facilities. I cant wait to go back after covid is over to experience their classrooms.
Very nice place for short outings near your home, when you do not want to drive long distancePoints to remember.1. Restrooms are away from the cabins.2. Cabins have only bunk beds and a table and chairs, one ceiling fan and one lamp. No ac no basin, no kitchen, no toilet/bath.3 only one Barbeque grill which is common for all 6 cabins.
Such a great and beautiful place. Theres a large nature preserve. A big forest with wild animals. A beautiful cabin for cooking and gatherings. And 5 cute cabins with bunk beds, behind the large cabin. A downhill fire pit with tables. A grill near the large cabin. A bathroom building nearby. Ive been 2 times, in the last 2 years.
Absolutely awesome place, must check it out for next getaway!
This is a great place to snowshoe and I couldnt pass up this beautiful 46 degree day to do so. It was a pleasant surprise to meet up with 3 ladies from Women Build | Habitat for Humanity who were also shoeing, two of them neophytes. I usually have the trails to myself. Dont have permission to show their faces so include this one. Adding another from Winter 2017.
Beautiful place for a wak. Wish we found it sooner
Nice new log cabin learning center about to open in june 2020. Great place for a walk.
Small nature trail that offers a few different eco systems. Fun to explore.
Always a great place to do a little hiking. Its a smaller park but is very nice and well taken care of
Beautiful park with a lot of trails.
The best. This property is incredible has really nice trails Great wooded area a lot of planks to walk on boardwalks. Cabins on the property wonderful pond extremely peaceful in a wonderful neighborhood very secluded. I met the caretaker what a wonderful gentleman. A lot of Trials and great signage a very nice time
Beautiful park, reasonably shorter trails! Great for dog walks
Very nice walk for me and my toddler
When i work in tne area you will find me there eating lunch. A1 all around
Great park to visit. The newly constructed cabins are terrific and theres lots to explore. Rates are reasonable but more so for residents of the county. The only reason it loses one star is because theyre tearing down the original structures which were in good condition and part of a local mans legacy.
Went here because of disc golf. I think its really nice for a small layout however I was very confused at where to tee off from
Great place for the whole family. Lots of activities.
Great place for camping or to walk through the trails
Very beautiful and serene place. There is a beautiful pond and so many different and quiet places to sit and feel the nature.
Great place for a day hike, walking your dog or just a place to relax in nature. Nicely groomed trails with informative signs about animals and trees found in the woods. There is a lot of poison ivy. Educate yourself and pay attention to the vegetation. Very cool place!!!!
One of my favorite places to take the grandkids. Lots of trails. Deer, rabbit, and racoon are common. Nice cabins. Clean bathrooms.
Nice walking trails.. Really relaxing. Love to come back during different seasons. I would love to come and stay in a cabin during a snow storm if possible, that would be really cool!
Great place, friendly staff
Nature center is right behind work so I walk at lunch. Beautiful and lots of options for trails. The maps on the trail arent great though. No markers so its easy to get lost.
Thoroughly enjoy going here for my lunch break. Area is fairly maintained and I have enjoyed the scenery & wildlife. The sounds from the small streams make for a relaxing time out of the office.
Its a great place to have meetings and campouts. There are also two bonfire pits.
Some nice woodsy walk style hiking trails. Not much in the way of wow factor scenery. Nice free picnic area and cabins for rent as well
Definitely has woods. Cabins are fairly modern and sturdy. Fire pit nice for groups. Nature close to home.
Awesome trails short but nice.
Not bad just be careful on the trails that are by the wetlands parts of the bridge are under water
Cute little place, nature center was closed for maintenance though so we couldnt check it out. The cabins in the campground looked nice. A lot of horse flies though and poison ivy so bring spray and stay on paths.
Great place to walk through nature
Nice short trail walks. the board walk over the creak was closed off due to high water, which is expected after rains we have received.
Came here with my sons cub scout den and was supposed to have a guided nature walk by the gentleman that runs the place, followed by an educational class inside the building. Was a little disappointed when the guide didnt show up, without a phone call or explanation. Basically turned in to a cold walk through the woods on a Sunday afternoon. Not horrible, but not what we came there for. Overall the facility looked nice, and after peeking through the window of the building, was more disappointed we didnt get to see the animals he had in there. Rating will go up if we come back and the guide shows up.
There are three gyms and I think five Pokestops here. Its a great place to hunt! I caught four Magicarp today. Oh, and its super pretty in the nature sense.
Great location. The lodge is very nice for events.
Reason why I i left three stars is the guy who I called hung up on me the first time.At first I said the call must of dropped. So I called back and he answered hello!! As if what do I want and when I asked him how much are the homes going for. He said well what one? I told him he gave a price then instead of giving me info of sq and bed/baths i had to ask each question.Great Customer Service Sells better then anything.
You can rent cabins, very nice and helpful staff
Pleasant and peaceful. Attended an event here the cabins and facilities where nice.
Never knew it was there much less it being a frisbee golf location too.
Nice find. The well kept Trails are wide and easy to follow. Not crowded.
Great place to walk. Nice places to stop and have a picnic as well.
Beautiful trails through a variety of environments. Lovely place to walk
Beautiful township park. Picnic areas, wooded trails, Marsh boardwalk, large pond, nature center, and cabins for rent (very reasonable).
I wish we could have stayed longer. Was planning on going for a nice hike, but the bugs were so bad, we didnt make it far. It was unbearable. We did have bug spray on, and I still have some bites.
Really great place to hold a family reunion. Both the facilities and staff are top notch.
I love this place drive from Harrison Township so peaceful
Great place for a nice walk or picknic plus its completely free
Love the trails and wildlife. A great break from the norm
