Clean environment, Cute gift shops, good variety of exhibits, and good family fun. Great place to go if youve got some downtime. Covid restrictions sadly shut their cafe down so getting a bite to eat there is limited, so I recommend snacking before visiting. Overall was a pleasant experience and clean environment
We have loved the Atlanta zoo ever since we moved here 2 years ago we were members immediately and I can say with two small kids that it has been a wonderful experience to share with them and friends and family when they visit. We are originally from the Philadelphia area and grew up always going to the Philadelphia zoo and we were so pleased to see how well-maintained updated and well cared for the animals were here at Atlanta Zoo. This past weekend was actually our first visit since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic and I can say that everything the zoo has done as well as the patrons respect for the policies of wearing masks social distancing and overall keeping lines moving and taking an appropriate amount of time to look at the animals was really a relief. We will now be going on a regular basis now that we have seen firsthand that proper social distancing and mask policies are being upheld and respected by everyone ️
It was different going to a zoo in a downtown setting. And of course the way it was setup to follow social distancing guidelines was crazy but they did a good job. My family and I had a good time. We saw just about all the animals they had. I was actually wore out in the end because my youngest son made me go all the way back around to go see all the reptiles. It waa his birthday so I couldnt say no.
Boo at the zoo was definitely an excellent experience for my family. Seeing the animals and being able to trick or treat in a safe manner made it even better. There were stations that gave candy through a pipe and it there was no contact. One way traffic and it wasnt very crowded. My only complaint is there was no stopping, had to keep going and sometimes we could have used a moment to sit down and catch up. Also very little candy stations for the price. Overall excellent.
We had a great time celebrating my sisters birthday and see all the animals. We really enjoyed feeding the giraffe and seeing the meerkats, the bird sanctuary was really cool! I most enjoyed the gorillas, especially the baby. Fun fact: this is the zoo where Ivan went to after being rescued from the mall,The one and only Ivan. Riding the train was fun and if you have little ones the kids zoo section would be great for you!
Very nice zoo with a lot of animals!! I would recommend this zoo to anyone visiting Atlanta. Very nice exhibits and species of animals. Loved the petting zoo, flamingos, lions, gorillas, pandas, llamas, and tortoises. Gift shop has tons of merchandise but pretty expensive. Getting the Atlanta City Pass saves some money for the zoo (but still have to pay some). Parking lot needs to be bigger kinda as it was too full to park when we came and had to parallel park on the street.
It was ok, but not what I expected. The animals looked unhealthy and they didnt seem to have a lot of room. The animals looked more like rescue animals than thriving zoo animals. I felt sorry for some of them, you could tell they were not happy in the small areas they were in. Ive been to about 7 zoos from Ohio, Kentucky, south Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Texas and Georgia. I would have to say Atlanta zoo was at the bottom of the list out of all of them. Ill post pictures but the quality isnt that great, I need a newer camera.
Extremely impressed with the covid rules in place. Loved that they had quiet areas for sensory needs as well. My son loved learning about mumbles and that we were some of the first guests to see Jackie the Red Panda in his new habitat in Atlanta.
We all had such a super fun time! Giraffes are my sons favorite animal, and he finally got to see them today in person. I cant wait to go back on a day where he can hand feed them. We got to chat with the keepers at different habitats. It was super cool to learn about all the gorgeous animals, and see the passion the keepers have for them. I cant wait to go back!
Great Zoo to go with Kids. There is a Train ride, Carousel ride. Few activity zones are closed due to Covid. But plenty of safety precautions and directions everywhere. Sanitizer stations plenty around the zoo. The parking is free in premises due to Covid. Overall we had a great time at this Zoo and I am sure will be returning with my kids.
Enjoyed coming. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I appreciate them having the one way gates to prevent heavy traffic flow and all the sanitation stations around. Train ride shouldve been free. Overall, great visit.
Excellent Boo at the Zoo experience. Good social distancing rules in place. We visited at the 9 am time slot.We saw more of the the zoo than ever before with the one way guidance. It was the best zoo experience we had ever!
Magical place to see and learn about animals! We highly recommend the annual pass! We felt very save with current COVID guidelines ️️️️️
This review has been long overdue ! We have a zoo membership and by far that’s the best membership we have ever had. Totally worth it. My kids love the zoo. Despite pandemic, they have ensured social distancing and safety measures. The staff have gone over and beyond to ensure cleanliness, sanitation and social distancing. And all of this without hindering the fun part. They even have the rides on now, and I can see all of the efforts that has gone in to provide an amazing experience. We always make it to the zoo on a good weather week day to avoid the crowd. And have always been successful in finding a parking. Thank you to the staff for reopening without compromising any of the safety measures
I liked the zoo. Parking was horrible but it was a busy day. Took my daughter here for part of her birthday and she enjoyed looking at the animals. Navigation through the zoo... ehhh but overall a decent time.
Definitely not normal during covid. Many of the kid-friendly activities are closed. If you arent used to the heavy Atlanta restrictions then be prepared to feel somewhat oppressed. But on a positive note, the animal habitats still look great!
We have taken our little guy here three times and each visit he had a BLAST!!! We always planned our visit on a day we felt might not be as crowded and it for sure makes the experience even more enjoyable. Seeing the flamingos right when you walk in always puts a smile on my face. Being originally from Florida, it always reminds me of my hometown. The giraffes, pandas and lions are a few more of our favorite attractions.
It was great. Everyone was very interactive with us, and it was nice to go to the zoo for the first time with my babies. Even they loved it. The pizza was great also! Only issue had was when I wanted to let my 2 year old feed the giraffe, and we couldnt because it was card only. And all the vending were card only. I only brought cash that day.
This adventure was worth every penny. The animals were alert, they looked healthy and well-fed. The staff is very proficient. And the exhibits were laid out in a know that you walked on foot. A very nice adventure for the whole family.
My son enjoys it more and more each visit. Glad they offer shortcuts along the one way path. I wish the train ride was longer or offer the unlimited rides add-on upon entry. Seems like you are back tracking.
My family loves visiting the Atlanta zoo. They have a great layout that’s easy to navigate. The elephants and giraffes are definitely the family favorite as they’re easy to see and interact with.
During these COVID times, I was thoroughly impressed with how organized, structured, and efficient the zoo staff made the visit. The tiered times, encouraging social distancing, mask enforcement, and plethora of hand sanitizer made the visit feel possible. The staff were very helpful and kind. Exhibit staff were equally as helpful with information. While I hope this pandemic is over soon, I would visit again even with the change in visitation experience.
As a father of two kids 8 & 10, I was a little disappointed. Ive been to a lot of zoos, but there wasnt much to see. Granted we went in mid-October so a lot of the animals were off display, but a fair warning, the train ride is fun for young kids (
Was a bit chilli so some of the animals were lethargic but thats not the zoos fault. The exhibit were very nice and didnt look uncomfortable for the animals, even though Im sure they would rather be free. All in all was a good time
Had a wonderful time at the zoo. They are taking social distancing precautions seriously and keeping their patrons very safe. The zoo was not too crowded, it was easy to stay apart and all adults were wearing their masks. It was nice to go out with the children and feel safe. I will go back with my family again soon!
Free On Site Parking. Social distancing guidelines followed. Staff very friendly and helpful. They are still in phase one of reopening so some exhibits are still closed but less traffic made our visit more enjoyable. I would recommend you pack lunch/snacks and drinks because park concession prices are high. No cash transactions. We purchased a family membership and it paid for itself in one visit. I would highly recommend for families with young children.
Super great! The kids had a blast even though it was hot out. The animals are beautiful! I am so thankful the kids (under 10) didnt have to wear masks with the heat.
Plenty of room to spread out, animals were very active. My kids love it every time, just became members. Right now with distancing measures you are put on more of a one way path with only a few variations. Its not as fun as being able to go wherever you want but it wont be forever and I get it. They are doing a great job.
Great experience with my daughter! Safety rules were implemented. We had a wonderful time
Fabulous time at Zoo Atlanta - my first visit. Timed entrances for people, directions and path clearly marked, lots of 6 spacer marks for social distancing, hand sanitizer stations everywhere. 14 month old baby gorilla was soooo cute! New elephant exhibit really really cool. Wish the giraffes werent full by the time our number came up to feed them. Felt safe from pandemic, being outside definitely helped.
My toddler loved it. Majority of people had masks on so we felt safe. The best time to go is in the morning.
Had a great experience here with my family. There is free parking and the staff was mostly friendly. The path to walk through was easily guided and the map was accurate. Restrooms need improvements and the grounds of the zoo but be better well kept in my opinion. My favorite sight was the African safari with the elephants. Nice place to unwind. Some few concessions stands were open and souvenir stands had nice options. Would like to visit again soon
This place was way above our expectations. My family enjoyed every moment.
Covid-19 closures means almost no chance of getting out of the scorching heat of the day. Standing or walking in order to maintain some semblance of social distancing. Two hour mostly self guided walking tour. Venues that were open didnt disappoint. Daughter was burnt by the time we left.
If my kid loved it then we most certainly did. There were a lot of animals to view and interact with. Very good Zoo; very big Zoo and plenty of walking around. 5 stars!!!!
As a [then] college-aged student, I had way too much fun at this zoo. Atlanta was my first flight, and my week was jam-packed with touring the city. Zoo Atlanta was one of my last stops before heading back to the Tri-State.I am biased having grown up with the Philadelphia Zoo, but Atlanta’s zoo was quite impressive. Now married with kids, I tried to give my husband and girls the same experience but a storm kept us in our hotel room during our stay.
My family loves this place we have been keeping up with the 4 yr old twin pandas .
It was a good visit during coronavirus. The whole place was marked off where you follow a path. All the interactive activities were closed off except for the merry go round and the train. The zoo isnt as great as youd expect for an Atlanta zoo and some of the animals seemed sad but it was overall pretty good and the family enjoyed it!
Just got back from Zoo Atlanta. Both my kids had fun. We saw most of the animals. The indoor exhibits were closed due to COVID-19 which was fine. Masks are required for 10 & up but we all wore it. There wasnt a rush which was good, probably because we have to make a reservation to go there. Well definitely go back again.
Zoo Atlanta did an AMAZING job with handling the social distancing and safety. It was our first visit and loved it. Its a good size for a little too, not too big,not too small. Will definitely return ️
Excellent zoo. They have done an amazing job handling the pandemic. Most exhibits are open and look great. The pandas are available and easily accessible.
Visited a few wks ago and had a remarkable time. The staff were all friendly and maintained strict control assuring everyone did their part in slowing the spread. The exploration throughout the Zoo has been constructed to ONE WAY and there are designated viewing areas of each exhibit that are socially distanced so everyone can have an opportunity to enjoy safely! Good selection of animals and exhibits to enjoy. Fun for the family and all ages in between.
Well organized with signs directing traffic and social distancing. Their chicken tenders spot is amazing! Must get that food. The kids zone is awesome, however some parts closed due to Covid. Panda exhibit is a long line that moves quickly. Takes about 3.5 hours to get through everything, including sit down eating time.
Honestly, this was one of the best zoo experiences I’ve had to date. I was so impressed with the way the Zoo is handling the pandemic and measures taken to keep their guests, staff and animals safeThe ticketed times and marked paths ensured easy flow from exhibit to exhibit while easily able to maintain social distance - it was actually fantastic as our little guy was able to easily view exhibits without the crowd!!We had a wonderful time and can not wait to return, it was nice to feel a sense of normalcy and have a family outing during these uncertain times and I appreciate the Atlanta Zoo made that possible for us.
Over priced ... I have been to several zoos all over the US and this one by far was the worse. I have been to Denver Zoo and a zoo in SC since covid and they both were just asking exciting as before. I have a family of 7 and I dont feel it was worth it. There are not many animals and the zoo wasnt as big as I expected it to be. Maybe I will revisit in the summer to check out the splash pad and ride the train.
A special shout out to Officer Pittman! A part of the entertainment, with his quit wit, and playful manner. An asset to the zoo, and a pleasant change from the over-serious rent-a-cops! Officer Pittman, thanks for the laughs.
Follow safe steps against Covid-19.Numbers are allow, it is better to purchase tickets online. Was great experience
The kids really loved it. They sold way too many tickets in this covid age but other than being way too crowded it was a lot of fun.
I love to go to zoos. The Atlanta Zoo is a great zoo, easy to get to. A fun day. It is sad though with the COVID-19 restrictions that things are beginning to look a bit run down since revenues are down. I pray the zoo can survive. The thing i enjoyed most was the sense of being so close to the animals. That is very exciting.
Sorely disappointed with the whole Boo at the Zoo thing. The inflatable decorations are cute but they were so stingy with candy. It would have been better to have either more candy stations or more candy at each station. Im uncertain why they even passed out bags. Pockets were fully sufficient. Other than that the zoo itself was good. The giraffe exhibit was pretty cool. If you exclude the Halloween stuff as a whole then it was a nice day.
Small zoo. Not the San Francisco or Bronx zoo in terms of size but still a nice experience with friends and family. The membership is worth the investment 10 fold. Their summer camps are great. My son attended when he was 6 years old and still talks about his experience - he’s now 8.
Fantastic experience. They have adapted very well to COVID. Great exhibits and a good day out.
Atlanta Zoo has done some amazing remodeling. The exhibits provide some of the larger animals with more room and better viewership for guests. The zoo does a wonderful job with social distancing and crowd flow management. The marked route allows you to experience every outdoor enclosure up close. Indoor exhibits are closed for safety. Great job Atlanta Zoo!
My family and I went here for the first time mainly because of our 7 yo has never been and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The joy on his face was worth the price of admission. However, the gripes I have are the website map needs updating to reflect whats taking place in the zoo also the lack of parking despite getting there early. We chanced parking in the neighborhood near the zoo & was relieved that we werent towed or ticketed upon our exit, resulting in the 4 stars.
Had a good time! Its a long walk but great exercise and views. I felt safe for the most part.. felt like there could have been more staff cleaning areas we touch more often but I did bring wipes and sanitizer so we were okay!
We took a trip there recently. They did a great job of clearly marking the one way paths, places to stop, etc. It was a nice trip. We cant wait for them to fully reopen with all of the kid attractions
It was amazing! I love all animals so this was great to go to. Although parking is hard you have to get there early cause the whole place is filled took us 18mins till we found a spot.
Great experience! Very well done. Rob, one of the managers was very helpful in aquatinting us with the grounds. I could tell he loves working with animals and really enjoys working at the zoo. We will be back for sure.
A lovely experience. My son enjoyed the animals and so did I. Customer service was nice. I felt safe as well. We had fun.
Atlantas Zoo is pretty well designed for a leisurely exploration of a lot of different species at a decent proximity to the path. During COVID-19, theyve additionally done a good job of making a one-way trail with good masking rules, which makes it easy to explore almost any section of the zoo safely. There is a small train ride (diesel dressed up to look like steam) and a carousel which are both still open during the pandemic. Ill have to give five stars because its hard to manage a zoo much better in normal or challenging times.
Loved the place! Super friendly and very knowledgeable staff, very COVID-safe, food is a little overpriced but youre allowed to bring in your own. High demand; though, so dont expect to be able to buy tickets for a time different than the one you wish to visit at.
Had the best time. The new elephant zebra safari area is so natural. Think the animals are all happy and well taken care of.
Very nice zoo, manageable size, can easily spend the hours here. Some exhibits and shops were closed due to Covid, but still plenty to see. Staff was friendly and reminded visitors to wear masks properly. The traffic was directed to flow in one direction through the park to accommodate social distancing and there were hand sanitizing stands throughout the zoo. My favorite exhibit was the elephants, the orangutans and the living tree house. FYI petting zoo was closed.
Currently you can visit the zoo with a mask, following a one way path that is designed for social distancing. Works out well.
Always a great time and they take great precautions in ensuring that social distancing is being practiced and mask are worn. I would love to shout out Catherine in Member Services for going above and beyond and guaranteeing that my little one enjoyed her friends birthday party on our last visit. Thanks Catherine! You are a superstar.
My first visit. Good place to visit during pandemic, they have done a fantastic job(limited people in the zoo, clear markings for social distancing) We went this week around noon, weather was perfect. All the animals were active, no real lines aside from the panda area. A few of the vending places are open for popcorn e, pizza, ice cream etc. If you go before 12 you can still feed the giraffes. My toddler was able to view all the animals without crowds, they also have sanitizer throughout the facility. Recommend visiting more as the weather is cooler.
Nice day at the zoo. It would have been nicer if people paid more attention to the social distancing rules.
We decided to visit Zoo Atlanta after reading about so many positive experiences and really wanting to get our family out of the house. As previous reviews mention, masks are required and social distancing rules apply. Ultimately, we had an overall great experience. The animals were so beautiful and there are even animals Ive never heard of. It was also interesting to read about how animals are treated in other parts of the world. The employees did a great job of sharing tid bits of information at each animals habitat. We did purchase a stuffed animal from the gift shop and the arm fell off but other than that, we had a great time and would definitely visit in the future.
I loved the zoo here. They even had Pandas, which I’ve never seen in person before. The zoo is well distanced for COVID-19 and has a single path you can follow. Along the path there are plenty of knowledgeable zoo employees that were ready to answer our questions. I’ll definitely be visiting more often !
Great afternoon outing. They do a great job having directional signs, and markings for social distancing. Most people followed the directions, but a few didnt, so as usual like driving you have to be a defensive walker.
We love coming here, but we havent walked so much of the zoo in years! COVID 19 Has really changed it. Instead of taking shortcuts to get to our favorite places, the paths are roped off. There is a clear one way path with lots of signs saying open, this way, exit only, etc. There are yellow markers to indicate stand here. Some areas require masks and have an attendant. I didnt see any options to go back to an area. It seems like they want you in and out, which helps with the turnaround, but its not that great if you have to get to a restroom and skip some areas.Currently, the main cafe is closed. The outdoor seating is split between in front of the cafe and under the pavilion. This is definitely a plus with little ones who like to run around. There are other places that are open. The gift shops have moved to outdoor venues and they sell masks in case you forgot one.The playgrounds, merry-go-round, train and splash pad are closed currently. Thats a huge factor when coming to the zoo.Normally we spend about 2-2.5 hours there. We were only there for about an hour and a half.
So I took a day off from work as a mental health day during the Covid 19 pandemic and decided to head down to Zoo Atlanta. It was a great decision! First off they are controlling the number of people that enter so no on site ticket sales, but you can buy ticket as you approach on your phone. Masks are required for anyone 10 and up and there are hand sanitizer stations throughout. They will let you bring in you own food and drink so I brought in my own water and snacks. As you walk in they have a planned route for everyone to take. It was great you go at your own pace and can visit as long as you want at each area. Go as soon as it opens its cooler for you and the animals, they will be more active in the morning. Even though it was a hot Atlanta day you could still find shady spots to cool off. They have not opened any of the indoor areas yet but I still had a great time. I just missed going to the reptile house. It took me about 2 hours to go through the zoo.
Corona routes set up nicely. Plenty to see as weather is getting cooler. Shops open in different spots. Majority of the employees nice and accommodating. We had a good visit.
Loved the Atlanta Zoo!! The exhibits were well kept and the grounds were very nice, too. The staff were all friendly and the restrooms were clean. The staff stopped and talked to me, and they seemed to genuinely love their jobs. I had a great time and it wasnt too crowded (granted I went on a Friday but it was after a weeks worth of rain). I loved the gorilla exhibit. It was spacious, peaceful and the gorillas were amazing to watch.
Very disappointed that most of the attractions were closed (The reptile house, inside observation rooms, all the playgrounds). Many of the exhibits had their animals off display. No zebras today and the giraffes were in their pens due to “it being muddy”.Overall the employees were very kind and courteous. The zoo is clean and well kept.I wont go back again until the virus hysteria has died down some more though. Price per ticket isn’t worth what you pay for what you get.
This was the best zoo experience I have ever had! Since the enforcement of social distancing, going to the Zoo Atlanta is a blast! Masks are required for ages 10+ and hand sanitation stations are located throughout the zoom. Traffic is one-way which eliminated all the annoyance of people constantly in your way, passing you and crossing in front of your group! I hope they continue to keep it one-way for a long time! Highly would recommend going!
Its a great place to take our little one. We feel comfortable and safe with the timed entry and one way flow of traffic due to COVID-19. Well be renewing our membership when it expires because the zoo is one of the places we feel safe going to. Well done, Zoo Atlanta. Also, the timed entry makes it a lot easier to find parking spots in the lot!
Had a great time, zoo is well kept animals look taken care of . Very clean Zoo
Zoo Atlanta is one of our favorites! They have done a great job making the animals accessible while creating a safe environment for the visitors. Willie B’s Pizza was delicious.
Well done Zoo Atlanta with your social distancing safety policy implementation! My family and I were thoroughly impressed with our visit. The timed entry, one-way path, marked 6+ viewing spaces, and multiple hand sanitizer stations are all great initiatives. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly, offering nearly personalized information and question answering. Crews were constantly around the facility cleaning surfaces and rails. The animals literally interacted with us, especially the elephants, otters and many birds. They willingly came closer to the viewing areas as we were there. The spacing out of the crowd made our visit much more enjoyable. We, and other guests, were able to go at our own pace and enjoy plenty of viewing opportunities. We look forward to going back very soon! Well done!
Who doesnt love the zoo!! Cant wait until I can go back and see the amphibians exhibit. (unavailable for viewing due to Covid)
Visit Jan 2020Super fun, was able to get pretty close to the animals more so than other zoos. Right at the start being able to feed the flamingos was awesome. While in the winter a lot of the animals are less active it was still super cool. There is so much to see and it is really fun. The little events scheduled around are nice also, it was very educational to learn about the different animals. The plaques by each exhibits was very informative especially about the animals risk level. Also having donation boxes around was very cool. Over all it is a wonderful experience and I would love to do it again.
Great place, we had to do the social distancing, but we had plenty of time to see what we wanted to see.
Its always fun to visit the zoo. Boo in the Zoo was great.
Great place to visit. Social distancing and masks are required but had an awesome time with our granddaughter. Gorilla enclosure was the best! We will be back!
We really enjoyed feeding the giraffe and seeing the meerkats, the bird sanctuary was really cool! The staff was very helpful and friendly. I Enjoyed coming here.
The various birds present in Zoo Atlanta were beautiful. Three giraffes were large in size. A white peacock was a unique bird. The baby guerrilla was cute. Pitcher plants near the tiger exhibit was cool.
Wonderful, they have it going in a one flow direction. it was actually really helpful we didnt have to use a map and we got to see everything in the zoo it was awesome!!! They had outdoor eating and vendors and everyone was wearing masks!!!
Touring the reopened zoo was flawless. Timed ticket entry, one way direction and plenty of space to be social distanced from others as per guidelines when at an exhibit. Indoor areas remain closed, except The Living Treehouse, where masks are required. All interactive exhibits are closed as well as playground, splashpad and statuary.Staff, volunteers and docents all helpful and courteous. Some food/beverage available, restrooms open. Stores are not but outdoor kiosks with highlighted merchandise for sale is located outside the gift shops. We are so happy for the reopening of Zoo Atlanta. Members for 25+ years.
The zoo is practicing timed ticketing to keep sufficient social distance in the zoo. And they also design a tour route to follow. Safe and enjoyable trip in the zoo. Plus, the parking is free here.
We had a great time! They have you going one way and you can see everything. We bought a membership and we enjoy coming down to see all the animals.
Drove 3 hrs to only get 20 min before they put animals in due to rain. Website said rain or shine. Bathroom at entrance was nasty. Even gift shop is closed so my daughter was balling her eyea out. Wont be back
Had a great, comfortable time at the zoo recently. All of the workers are so kind and welcoming. They are eager to share their knowledge and answer any questions about the animals they clearly love so much. I learned a lot on my trip thanks to them!
So this was my first outing since the Covid has hit. I was apprehensive about going but once I read about the safety measures that they were trying to take to prevent the spread I put on my mask and my daughters and we decided to try it.You have to purchase your tickets online and check a time and date so that they dont have too many people in the park at the same time, I actually like that they implemented this and I think they should keep it from now on.Contact less check in was easy, they just scan the barcode on your phone and you are in.From the entrance you see all the signs and the hand sanitizer stations conveniently located. You also have to follow signs around the park as they have blocked off walkways so you can only go one way. All employees had on masks and certain parts of the park you are not allowed in without one.Very pleased with my first time here post covid, I would come back for sure.
I love the Zoo, but I felt like during the pandemic wasnt the best time to go. Yes, it felt like you had the place to urself, but at the same time some exhibits were closed such as the reptile exhibit. Then we wanted the kids to participate in the petting zoo which was also closed as well. So we decided that maybe the kids could play on the playground or in the water, but surpringly that was closed as well. With everything going on in the world I get it and I can appreciate the social distancing measures that were put into place. However, I will not be back until the pandemic is over.
Half of the exhibits were closed, other than that, it was a nice zoo.
Timed tickets make for a significantly better experience than before. Now parking is available, no lines to get in, and few people inside. Other than the closed attractions: petting zoo, childrens park, climbing wall, it is a more enjoyable experience.
What an incredible experience! Youd think Id never been to a zoo before... But this one really shot past all my other zoo experiences. From the giraffes, zebras, sleeping lions, to the roaring tigers and gorillas who I witnessed pounding their chest..(twice!) This experience was far better than expected.. Maybe the animals were more active since the zoo had been closed due to CoVid19... But yes.. This place is worth the money.
We came to Atlanta to see the Georgia aquarium and ended up going to the zoo too and we ended up liking it more! They did a great job keeping numbers low and the zoo was super clean. We especially enjoyed the pandas and went crazy at the gift shop! This ended up being the highlight of our trip.
Great place, I liked the fact they take very serious social distancing and have the path separated for safety.
