I’m really grateful that we have this YMCA close by. I like to work out some days and swim on others. This facility is spacious, well-equipped, super-clean, and affordable. Members also have access to the outdoor pool, just down the road, during warm months and it is absolute heaven. There’s a spiral slide for kids and a playground just outside the pool area. Just a great value overall.

The womens shower area in this facility is disgusting, the stalls are filthy. I was there yesterday and there were dead bugs all on the upper wall of the showers, the grout on the walls and the floors need a serious detail cleaning. The whole shower needs a complete overhaul; it smells in there like the sewer line may be backed up. I have complained about this before, seem like they fix it temporarily then the problem or whatever it is returns. This is ridiculous really.

I used to love going to this gym until they charged me for the month of April during a pandemic. At the time they told me they could not give me a refund but they would put my account hold, and then apply Aprils credit to Novembers bill. Well, on November 30th I just had money withdrawn from my account again, even though we are still in a raging pandemic AND I was told by Zach Smagh, the membership director, that Aprils bill would be used for November. Here are the exact words from the e-mail: We have frozen your account through October 30th. Your recent payment will be deferred to your return to cover membership through November 30th. So in total I paid $120 for 2 months where I did not use the gym and they refuse to refund and did not live up to their word. They shouldnt even be open in the middle of a pandemic let alone charging people who dont feel safe using their facilities. Given that they wont give me a refund even for the November portion even though they said they would use Aprils to cover it., I will never go back.

Will not let you open a local YMCA membership if you are displaced and in town with an out of town membership. Be aware as this is not well advertised on the metro Atlanta website.

We just joined the YMCA--we previously had membership at a chain gym--and we love the Y! We are loving the wide variety of classes offered, the differing class time options, the super engaging and energetic instructors, and the general facilities. We are officially converts and already recommending the YMCA to so many of our friends!

Love the Y. Great variety of classes, machines always available, and nice to have the option of the pool/steam room to relax in. Staff is wonderful and friendly. facilities are left clean and mostly everyone is good about wiping down after using machines. There’s something for everyone. Definitely ask about employee, student discounts as there are discounts available on memberships and packages such as family memberships available.

The East Lake YMCA is my go to for exercise, relaxation and socialization. Eveyone is helpful and the members are friendly and in line with the family philosophy. I have been a YMCA member since the age of 7. I started at the YMCA camps and have been a member most of my life since then. The Outdoor and Indoor Pools around town and second to none. Great for the entire family!

Great facility. Clean with great staff. The hours of operation are great for working families and the child play center is an awesome distraction for the kids while I work out.

I Love this place. It is very much a community of different people sharing the goal of being fit and healthy and enjoying themselves all at the same time.

I love going to this YMCA. My only concern is the family locker room area. There is a limit of rooms so a lot of times you have to get ready in the hallway area of the family locker room. This is also where the cleaning room is located and they are always in there with the door wide open as people are getting dressed. Also would be great if there was a swimsuit dryer in the area.

I Love This Y-:) The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. The pool is warmer, the towels are fluffier and the staff is friendlier and more helpful than some of the others Ive attended. I enjoy the various group exercise classes, the plentiful parking and the general upkeep of the entire facility. Good job to all!

My son and I go there on average twice a week. My teenage son has been going to the weight room. The staff are always ready to give helpful advice and guidance and really know their stuff. The facility is kept spotless and there is plenty of light -- that combined with occasional laughter and childrens voices keeps the Zen factor of the place so high. You leave with physical and meta-physical uplift!!

This is my favorite Y. The pool is accessible. The classes are fun and well attended. The instructors are knowledgeable and friendly, as is the staff. The facilities are clean and neat. I never feel rushed. I particularly enjoy having access to a whirlpool, sauna and steam. While this may feel like a luxury n to some, for people like me with chronic pain, its a godsend!

I have been working out at the East Lake Family YMCA for about 7 years. It is always very clean and the equipment is always in good shape. And they get new fancy stuff like the Peloton bikes! But honestly, what I think I love the most is the staff. They are so friendly, professional, encouraging. After all these years, whether I am consistent or miss a few days, they are always happy to see me. They are like family. They keep me coming back. East Lake Family YMCA has everything I need to stay fit and healthy for a reasonable price!

My workout buddy love going here! It is perfect and wonderful and Harold at the front desk is so nice and friendly and we never feel shamed for our lack of knowledge, skill, or form. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and it is such a mentally healthy place to work toward physical health! Best experience Ive had in a gym-esque setting.

I am a member here (for about a month now) this is actually my second time around. I was a member here a decade ago. It was then, and is now such a nice and comfortable place for everyone! I highly recommend this location to everyone!

The community is so welcoming. The childrens play center know my children so well and are so sweet to them. The pool is great. I really am happy at East Lake

The classes are great. 2 things could be improved- the fitness area is not spacious enough and the locker rooms need updating. A lot of the facilities are awesome like the basketball courts and the studios

I am very impressed with the facilitys degree of community involvement, especially children and the elderly. This is a clean, modern, welcoming place.

My son spent a super 4 weeks at the Eastlake branchs summer camp. He really enjoyed the activities such as crafts daily swimming. The camper to counselor ratio is terrific. It was always easy to find a counselor to speak to or to direct you to anything. I like the ease of check-in and check-out was really terrific. We did have one issue there with a student who my son felt was bullying him. After speaking with the director and sharing a problem, she was very attentive compassionate and responsive. The problem was resolved and my son was able to continue to enjoy a great Camp experience there. I really need to give a shout out Nyebah, the camp director. She was always very present visible accessible professional and ran the camp with excellence. I highly recommend the camp I think its a great place for kids to learn to get along with people from various racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds in a supportive environment which is an important value in my family. My seven-year-old son made great friends there and hes looking forward to returning again. Thank you East Lake YMCA!

I love all the group exercise classes the Y offers. As well as the financial assistance application that gives low income families a break on the monthly costs. Most of the staff here is extremely friendly. I joined solely for Zumba classes, and Nicole Yates is the bomb! I just wish she had even more classes here throughout the week, as the few she has are super full and sometimes hard to find room in.Also there has been a time or 2 I showed up for a pilates class to find out the teacher called out and there was no replacement or notice of it being cancelled on the website.I also have my son in swim lessons here, they have different time available throughout the week so it was easy to find a session that fits my schedule.Overall I really appreciate this place and all it has to offer!

My favorite is the suna; I love purifying my skin; the in door pool & indoor track is a huge plus; I also enjoy shooting some hoops on the indoor basketball court. What a great place away from home.

Your programs and activities are well planned and facilitated by a passionate staff that is the YMCA! Getting to the Y is usually the best part of my day.

The east lake ymca has the worst customer service ever. As i was invited by a army vet to work out with him . Because he have a membership there for many years . I was stopped by the there customer service - stating why was i there. I mentioned with a friend but he’s in there aerobics class already. They was the epitome of rude! After looking him up he was at the facility in class such attitude from a older black women and a younger black guy. So I proceeded to go to the rear and i talked to Delilah who explained to me the process and sh was very pleasant. In closing i talked to the director Zach, .. I wanted to joined but i want now.!! Your first impression is always the lasting impression!!

The facility is clean and nice and I’ve had no problem with the costumer service yet but, they seem to close the pool early for lack of lifeguards often and for a person who does a lot of their excersize through swimming it’s a very sad thing not to be able to get that done

My daughter absolutely loves the summer and school break camps at East Lake. They provide a variety of activities and programs and the adult group exercise classes are awesome!

This place has the worst costumer service. While some people are nice and knowledgeable the majority is not. Worst of all, they really don’t care about how you feel about it. I had three staff members talking about me as I walked up on them because I asked questions about why the pool was closing so early. They were completely rude and unprofessional along with being ghetto. Just horrible. I like the Y but will be going further out seeking for better customer service. I really wish I could give no stars at all. Thank you to those who were good at their job.

The facilities are excellent and the support staff is very responsive; I enjoy the fitness center and fitness coaches Des and Danielle; the Aquatics center and the 100 mile swim challenge and the lifeguards ; the Active Older Adults organization and activities...the towels are an added bonus; finally, Mr. Underwood, the director, is very involved and responsive to our needs and concerns.

I recently joined this YMCA to regain my fitnes. Yep, its that time of year again. I havent been to any Y facilities for at least a 12 years and was very pleasantly surprised to find this one to be extremely clean and all of the equipment working and up to date.The staff has been very friendly and helpful. The pool was one of the most attractive features. It features open lap lanes all day long plus an area for water aerobics, etc.Sure the location was great but it has turned out to be a really good facility.

Ive lived in LA, VA and New York City and this is by far the best all around gym experience Ive ever had. From the staff to the facilities to the members just a hands down top notch pleasurable experience. Kudos !

I love it! The layout is not too bad. Its pretty easy for me to get around being visually impaired. My favorite part is the aquatic area.

Been going here for years. The fun center for the baby allow me to do a well needed workout without worry. The indoor pool seems to be the older grandkids favorite this summer. Reasonable rates for the entire family.

This has been a great place for swim lessons for my 4 year old son. The kiddie pool for him to play in afterward is do much fun. The gym area for working out is small, cramped & overall unimpressive.

Theres a new employee and he was the rudest to me. His name is Harold and I went to the front desk to check in and it turned out that I forgot my y card at home so usually the employee will just take a couple of seconds to look your name up and then your good but Harlod was the rudest person ever. I told him I forgot it at home and he wouldnt allow me to come work out. I tried telling him that this wasnt the first time I forgot my card and he yelled at me rudely and made me stand in a line to get a new card even though I already have one. Not only that I am a paying guests who deserves to be treated with respect. This location couldve done better with the new staff members they hired. He didnt explain anything to me he had a nasty unwelcoming attitude.

Horrible service and rude front desk people

Classes fill up quickly and will not expand other classes at different times. Kids daycare sill sup, which then leaves no option but a wasted trip and waste of money.Pool is very chlorinated to the point it burns swimmer eyes. Pool breaks every 45 minutes, makes it hard to get in any rhythm. Canceling a membership is just as painful as Comcast.

You have to take Sam Thackers zumba class..she is a zumba and fitness beast. I earned my steps, my shower, and have fun.
