Just an all around different place, hard to park, and not terribly easy to shake the sense of the potential for negative things to occur... Not a place I want to go without a purpose and or business to conduct.Bring a TON of patience for parking and traffic woes..
It used to be OK, until the homeless started camping in the shadows of the Phoenix post office and around Fairley Street. Now the areas gone down hill. Real pity.
Very cool place to walk through. Fun place to take pics!
Seems to be where Atlantas homeless stays. You get hassled for change, have to step over people on the sidewalks, bodily waste in the parking decks. I work here, no place for sight seeing
If You Want Some Nice Vibes While Walking Or Riding The Scooter or Bike......This Area Treats You Exactly How YOU TREAT IT!!!!!
I bought a tee shirt from best Atlanta so many beautiful tee shirts then CVS to pick up script you have to mask up which is good. Went on to Wal-Mart on Martin Luther king found queen sized sheets for 11.99 bought 2 sets they have all kinds of fruits and vegetables electronics meds etc.
I went to big Daves and purchased a Philly cheesesteak that was absolutely amazing
I really like the area but it will confuse the hell out of you. Best way to maneuver down there is park your car and walk.
First time here. It was great, definitely will be going back.
Its nice and with the Walgreens being there makes it even better
Great time with the wifey. Good food, flowing drinks and great peeps
Visited Big Daves Cheesesteak but a historic area indeed. Had a great time and experience here.
You See Real Nice History Attractions And Historical Buildings Like Historical Civil Rights Center Not To Far From Fairlie-Poplar District. They Also Have Some Famous Historical Restaurants, Famous Atlanta Fish Aquarium Near By In This Area Of Downtown Atlanta.Historical Downtown Condos And Lofts On 90 Fairlie-Poplar Street- Downtown Atlanta, Georgia.
Great place to walk around with friends on a summer night.
Nothing is open, most businesses look to have gone under. It is a shame.
This is 1 of the best family parks I been to love this park ...
Good selection of restaurants in downtown. Homeless tend to favor this area due to concentration of people
Worked in this area for almost a year and while its nice enough as far as having lots to see and do, really getting a feel for Atlanta culture and food, there is a lot of crime and there are many [aggressive] homeless folks in the area. My company actually moved to another part of the city because of the incidents several employees had while parking their cars or walking through the area, myself included. I might be biased, as Im more into the small town living, so I suppose if you love the city life, these things may not be a big deal I just kind of thought the area was JUST okay lol
Its a nice place to gather during the day, specially in nice weather days. Sometimes is too crowded (I mean that more tables are needed) .You can frequently find some music there.Get your lunch at any of the amazing places there and find a seat outdoors to enjoy your meal or a good coffee
Lovely little village bustling with fresh restaurants and plenty of outdoor seating. Can be a little busy at lunch time but their isnt a shortage of chairs either on the sidewalk or in the nearby square. The atmosphere is quiet and the strings of lights make it feel very tucked away even though its only a few blocks from the Westin hotel and Centennial Park
Great little place with an eccentric video playlist. Each day has its own theme, which you have to expierence to fully understand. The bartender was engaging and fun. Small pool table in the basement that is somewhat neglected, but expected. Menu has some hidden gems. Jalapeno mozzarella sticks were excellent.
It was great looking forward to the next meeting
Awesome day of protesting, grateful for the turnout and everyones safety. Bless the people giving out refreshments and cleaning up, a nice lady even gave out tacos
Great place to spend with your family and friend but some trash scattered in some spot.
Hey the food was great the servers were pleasant but not intrusive. Considering the area the prices were in keeping...$$$ Out of 4. I love that MARTA was only a block and a 1/2 away. Anything to avoid having to take a car and find parking.
A little more access to parking would be great.
Its is on the great location where everyone is welcomed .The architecture of the building is marvelous. Tons of restaurants are nearby or within walking distance. Parking is a nightmare and good luck for finding one. Also if you find parking spot make sure remember or pin it on google because you might get easily lost at the night time. Also, make sure all your belongings are secure. Enjoy the city life.
COVID BEWARE!!! NO ONE WAS WEARING A MASK!
It ues to be over run by homeless people but as far as GSU IS CONCERNED Its really Nice
First date was there... of course I loved it
Great place with great food. Blossom Tree and Bakara Shawarma are two of my favorites, but there is something for everyone. It is also right next to a park and most places have outdoor seating.
This area would be better without the television and movie filming crews constantly taking up parking and their snooty security attendants claiming eminent domain.
There too many random homeless people and malcontents hanging around.
Great place for walking with your friends and family. Theres a lot to see and great places to eat.
Great place for lunch when GSU is in session. Nice boardwalk with seats. Plenty of places to eat, sit, linger. Check it out.
Best food court disguised as a historic district. Everything from Oriental to authentic NY deli.
Love it over here good food selections in the area...
Great food spots. I recommend either the pho spot or the pizza spot
I love the art and murals and street. The poke bowl place called Fishbowl was wonderful.
Nice place to ride around take pictures
Mixed space socially distant is easily done here
I love this venue there is not a bad place to stand or sit on the entire show floor you can see from everywhere which is an amazing thing the downstairs bar area where they sell the merch is pretty neat they have a screen down there so you dont miss the concert and the smoking area outside gets a little crowded but all in all its very satisfactory as it creates social interaction
Nice and clean historic downtown where you will see cultural and food diversity. You will find open minded people who will accept you what you’re. Parking is free there on weekends but you have to pay on weekdays.
Lovely downtown area to stroll around with several quick-bite restaurants & coffee shops to choose from.
Great time I had. Enjoyed thethrowback music videos. Awesome burger!
Its convenient for me
Love the area, close to centennial park and surrounding areas like Coca Cola museum!!
My favorite part of Atlanta. Beautiful architecture with a classic feel right in downtown.
Thats where the hotel I stayed in was located. It was a reasonably nice neighborhood.
Great place the people r great but the homeless suck there is too many
Nice strip to get something to eat with a variety of options. If you can disregard the unique characters that frequent, sleep, and use the streets as a restroom, it is nice. Abundance of professionals and students during the week.
Very windy walks on the streets & sidewalks. The buildings are beautiful!
Nice places to walk to, really enjoyed a pizza restaurant called Slice off Poplar...A+
Historical and the theater district. Good walkabout and fun spots to visit.
Clean and safe downtown. Businesses are conveniently located for easy access.
Rosas still the bomb.
Finding parking is a nightmare. Nice simple restaurants and wonderful to sit and people watch.
Downtown Atlanta is full of little gems when you take the time to explore, some of the most upscale restaurants and amazing luxury hotels, awesome sights from the ground level or up above which ever you choose. Great for a stroll on your break for lunch or a weekend visit for a great event being held in the heart of the city, whichever one you are doing at the time, I know you will enjoy it. Depending on the weather and what event is being held at the time, be ready to dress accordingly, use our transit system MARTA, because traffic can get hectic and it makes it alot easier to navigate from one place to another and remember have FUN! Oh, and keep your eyes open, you never know who you may see in this Great city, my city Atlanta, Ga.
Lots of excellent food choices... Excellent destination to explore. Great people watching
I like the area on the way to work I stop in and get coffee everyday nice diners I cant wait to try out their food!
049570775-254632222 because I own and paid 100,000 US currency for this District, paid in full -----------------------------------------------100,000‰/‰---------------
Just a really great eclectic little area thats also a great place to park for anything going on at Mercedes Benz Stadium! Not a bad walk at all and a Fast exit out!!
Havent felt comfortable visiting any... And I live downtown.
Great myriad of products. Look forward to coming back.
A lot of sights. Not over crowded. Offered many diverse sights
Was on a layover from the mega bus but it was still cool tho
Less than I expected. Went 2 days because I felt I came in late the first night and it was rushed. The slices are huge which is a good thing, but the toppings both nights werent cooked through. Maybe its because of the toppings themselves being big, but I might as well have just gotten fresh pepperoni and put on them because they werent cooked.
The selection of restaurants are good with outside seating area..
It would be nice if there werent so many homeless ppl out there
Fairlie Poplar is a nice little bustling district. It has pretty good vibes mostly. 5 out of 5 stars.
While it was beautiful I thought the streets were narrow but it added to the charm and made it more walkable
Good for a walk, a meal, sports entertainment, a drink and a stroll through centennial Park with its musical fountain. Historical in the sense of late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Trams, trains and restored streets make this an accessible area, though hotel parking is proceeding and streets are crowded when a sports game is on. Ted Turners Montana grill is my favorite dining and drinking venue and the Mercedes Benz stadium is ultra modern; quite a contrast with the historic zone.
The food is varied, and the people are usually pretty nice and respectful.
This is my favorite part of downtown Atlanta. Its scale and urbanity is unmatched anywhere in Atlanta.
Great food! You can find everything from Vietnamese to Inian to NY deli and Pizza. A mix of business, students and sadly so of Atlantas less fortunate homeless population.
Very southern downtown safe . and there is always heavy police presence definitely highly recommend
Best sandwiches in DT. Pantry
Many restaurants and good food.
Very interested and informational.. great experience
Thought it had better food.
Love downtown Atlanta...a lot has changed.
Working downtown is amazing - I love walking over to food trucks at the park or catching a busker on Broadstreet and eating under the trees. There are some beautiful older buildings and unlike most of Atlanta there are the bones of a dense, walkable multi-use city that are quickly being built on. Its still a heavily GaState / downtown worker lunchtime area. Yes, it can feel sketchy and there are homeless folks around, but its changing quickly as new residential and office spaces are opening and folks are starting to hit some of the bars and restaurants after a show or game at the benz/state farm/tabernacle/Rialto.
Very nice part of the city to take a nice stroll through or stop in at one of the many eateries to grab a quick bite.
Excellent place and many shopping and eating places close by.
