Have seen Theo Von, Joey Coco Diaz, and Bert Kreisher here and they were all awesome and the venue has a great atmosphere.
It’s the only venue like it in the city with so much history! I love playing here opening for artists and doing private events in the ballroom below the main stage. If you love concerts, the views are awesome here with 3 levels. Not to mention how many films and movies that have been filmed here. A true remnant from a different era.
Its simply this, the acoustics are amazing,..its small and almost always general Admission on the floor in front of the stage, andIve seen some awesome shows, including Collective Soul,GOO GOO DOLLS, and most recently Grace Potter. All of these concerts were around $75, @ the most, per ticket for general admission. My wife and I go to approximately 10-12 concerts a year here in and around Atlanta, and weve been to most venues, so when I say that Tabernacle is 1 of the best venues, in my top 3, Trust Me,......Deepman
BEYOND annoyed. I paid for the Doja Cat concert in April.... of course the show was canceled. but how about you refund us on out tickets.... especially since it has been SEVEN Months.....
I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Stunning interior decor & the acoustics are amazing!
Loved my first visit here! We went to see Reik and it was amazing! Awesome sound, light show and even though we sat on the top balcony it was still an awesome experience. The stair climbing however not the most fun since it gets hot and to get to the top balcony I think we end up 3 flights. Totally worth it!!The bathrooms are kind of odd because the men and women are basically together. You walk in the doorway. Directly in front of you there is a bench. To the left is a mirror and then a right turn takes you to the mens stall. Same for making a right from the bench for the womens stalls. So if youre looking at yourself in the full length mirror you can see the mens side mirror in the reflection.
Very cool old venue that was a church then the House of Blues and now the Tabernacle. Has two stages a few lounges and unique art on the ceiling and walls. There is a balcony and two small square stairways leading to them which some people may find claustrophobic but I love the old style. Walked past this place almost every time we went into Atlanta and this was my first time inside. Hope to go again.
Amazing venue! My husband and I love coming here for shows. It is very big and has a beautiful atmosphere.
Very cool, unique venue. Has several bars and food available for purchase. I bought the cheap floor tickets. There was plenty of room, the sound was great and I could see just fine.
The beautiful architectural design of this iconic and legendary venue in the heart of downtown Atlanta does not disappoint. The acoustics were incredible and there isnt a bad seat or standing area in the house. It was great to see a band from Mexico and a band from Canada playing together. It may have just been an intentional way of sending the message that we are all “Americans” or North Americans, Canadians and Mexicans in the heart of the Southern United States metropolitan center of Atlanta. The Tabernacle having a long history as a Southern architectural gem that has showcased many events remains standing since before the civil rights era and MLK Jr. The Tabernacle and Atlanta are still at the center of international social and cultural diversity. Metric rocked the house!
Very nice venue. Ive been here several times and Ive always had a great experience. It looks like they moved the restrooms downstairs in the bar area in the basement. You can get food down there. They have nice sitting areas and its clean. Great location too. Within walking distance from the SkyWheel and a great place to catch concerts. You have a good view of the stage no matter where you stand or sit at.
Every show Ive gone to, has been amazing. Theres a ton of room, and the sound is great. Seated up stairs balcony for those who dont want to stand. Plenty of bar space, merch areas, and bathroom accommodations. Pictures attached are Silent Planet, Silverstein, and August Burns Red.
Great live music venue. It is an old church that has been converted into a concert space. The space is beautiful and the acoustics are wonderful. Balcony seating is available. Three floors. Lots of steps so be mindful this is not a place that can be easily accessed for persons with disabilities. Also when there are concerts they have police on site so it is safe. They give wrist bands to those who are 21+ but unsure if they section off the main floor for those who can drink and cannot. The upstairs balcony is a bit more calm. They also have a rooftop for VIP seating which was awesome.
The Tabernacle is a nice place to see concerts. It has lots of restrooms and are kept clean for the most part. There are multiple levels upstairs to see a performance, there is no elevator from what I could see, but I could be mistaken. There are bars on each level to get a drink, but if you want to go the restroom you have to go all the way downstairs and depending on where your seat is, it can be a long way down. Other than that, Ive seen about three concerts here and I havent been disappointed. Ive really enjoyed the experiences this place has provided to make the night fun and exciting.
Went to Snow Patrols show. The band was awesome (of course!). Seating rooms are as small as in economy airplane... If someone is tall and sit in front of you.. Im so sorry! The venue has nice decorations, however the sounds system might need some improvement (it sounds quite grainy).
The venue itself is quite unique. This was originally built as a Baptist tabernacle in the early 1900s, but has been updated and renovated into a three level theatre. The general admission floor and bars are on the second level, while food, other bars, and restrooms are on the first level. On the third level, there are two separate balcony levels. While the venue is interesting and charming, the sound system (or maybe the buildings acoustics) could be upgraded. There are nearby hotels, parks, and plenty of restaurants. Its located in a very walkable part of downtown. If you can see the SkyView ferris wheel, you can find the Tabernacle. I would visit this place again if a band I liked was playing here.
Good music venue for standing or balcony listening. VIP areas were nice, bar and food with lounge areas. Not sure if handicapped accessible lots of stairs. Restroom area combined male/female watch which direction to stalls for your area!
Unique venue! Balcony seats were great. Theres a bar on every corner and they also provide earplugs. Sound was fantastic. Will definitely go again!
Very nice place to enjoy shows, crew members are very kind. Ive take one star because cleaning could be better.
The Tabernacle is beautiful and opulent but also a little old and seems unsafe in some areas, some of the stairs were shaky(especially on the fire escape) which made me nervous moving around. And the sound doesnt travel clearly from the stage to the top balcony. I had a great time at the Ella Mai Concert but I dont think Id go back to another concert there.
I had not been to the Tabernacle in about a year, the last time being a poor experience. I went to the show last night and the production was great and I enjoyed seeing the artists. However, the security lines were very poorly organized. There were about 6 people checking ID and tickets and there was 0 efficiency. Once inside the venue I walk up the stairs to see that there is a line to get in and they are currently not letting anybody inside. I can see the artist I came for already halfway through his set and no one is allowed inside. They said that if a large group came out then a group could go inside. I watched four groups of people come out and still no one was allowed inside. After about 20 minutes of waiting four people were allowed inside. I have never been to a venue that doesnt let customers who bought tickets see the show they paid for. I was originally excited to try out the venue again but at this point Im not sure what would make me come back.
Great venue! Excellent sound, nice balcony and the floor wasnt too tight to enjoy getting close. Decent beer selection too.
Came to see Jonathan Van Ness preform and the venue did a great job directing everyone to their seats and providing good service. The bars where quick with drinks and had reasonable prices.
The organization was smooth getting inside. If you are sitting in section 306 row B. You might have to shift your angle to see the stage.
It was a great venue. We were in general admission but right up front to the left of stage and it was an amazing experience. The sound and acoustics was the best and the band being right in front of you gives you an experience youve never had before.
Definitely a really cool venue. Ive lived in Georgia my whole life tonight I finally got to see a concert at the Tabernacle. Luke Combs was performing one of two shows here in Atlanta. Both shows were sold out and I understand why now that dude can put on a show. I think the Tabernacle was the perfect place to see a concert sounded great and the view from the floor was awesome!
So much fun. Highly Suspect is a must see in concert
I love this venue. I think it is the perfect size, not too large, and not too small. I think it’s also in the perfect location. I cannot wait to go back!!
I saw a heavy bass EDM show and honestly the room EQ wasnt the best. Also the security setup outside is a little obnoxious. We needed to get 21+ bracelets before getting in line, and if youre coming from one side its painfully obvious where to go, but if youre coming from the other side it seems like you can just get in line without another step. BUT the building is cool and the show was fun. The coat check person was super nice. There are SO many bars in different places inside so you can get drinks super fast. The bathrooms arent a nightmare either.
I came here for a band that I had never seen before but my friend loves them so I thought I would try something new. This venue was astounding as well as the band. STS9 was truly the best concert I have been to. The Tabernacle fits the band so well! I love how the venue has a layer of balconies to add an option for different views of the stage.
Went here for a concert. Place was pretty clean, restrooms where clean as well. Event staff were friendly and helpful. This was my first time there and was worried about parking, however, I got there early enough to get great parking by the Waffle House. On a slightly chilly night, the line to get inside moved pretty quickly. The only negative thing I would say is that during the concert the sound from the artist was pretty muffled. The DJs music sounded good, however, the artist was a little muffled. Maybe it was the artist or maybe it was the equipment the artist was using during the concert itself. I dont know, but I still had a great time and will potentially check out other artists here at this facility.
I really like this venue. Its very intimate, which is perfect for concerts. No seat is a bad seat and the sound is perfect. The only downfall is its an older venue, which means NO elevator. Youre hiking it up the stairs if youre on the 2nd or 3rd floor.
Been here a few times over the years and my latest visit late 2019 was spectacular. Security was great, not rude or offensive, and very helpful. Opted not to drink and didnt get wristbands which was fine, though made me wonder what if you did decide to drink after entering? All in all, the venue was clean and felt safe, and felt somewhat smaller this time around than a few years ago. Not sure if they just added in new bar tables or something but it felt more intimate. Great experience.
As with most concerts, the primary factor is the group performing. However, this venue has ample space outside the main hall to congregate and seated guests will have a good vantage point. Taller patrons be warned, the legroom can be minimal.
What a great venue for concerts. The sound was good, the staff was incredible! Helpful, polite, and friendly. Met some new cool people to bootKing Diamond made it his house for 90 minutes. We drove almost 300mi one way...was well worth the drive. Ill be watching for more shows and be heading to The Tabernacle in Atlanta again!
Drew here with 6 artists. We were situated in the basement/lower level area. Dress warm, its cool dkwn there.Food was good. Pizza and Krispy creams. The stsff ead nice and friendly. They serve liquor.
Excellent venue. Spectacular historic architecture and artwork inside. Great size for a good show, but also an intimate musical experience. I stood about 3/4ths of the way back on the floor with a General Admission ticket and still felt close to the artist, and the acoustics were great. Beer was pretty expensive, but thats to be expected, I think. Overall, a great venue.
Nice place but kind of old. Ever seat was a good view
I love going to the Tabernacle for performances. Admittedly I’m old so I always sit up top, but the venue is so intimate that all seats are great seats. The drinks and food are high, as to be expected, but every performance has great sound and attention to detail.
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!!! Beautiful venue with the most beautiful design. Can’t wait to come back in April 2020!
Great location close to Marta ! Converted church now a concert venue. Amazing architecture. Can score cheap tickets if willing to stand up on floor but close to performers is the bonus and so worth it. Seats are available in balcony area. Several bars and a cool area downstairs to eat and get drinks. Also several bars upstairs. All bags will b searched upon entry for patrons overall safety. Parking is available for a fee as well as early entry . Bring Id if you plan on purchasing alcohol.
Love this venue for a concert or a show! Not a bad seat in the house. The staff was so kind to my mother who is handicap. One in particular saw our seats might be difficult for her to get to so he ushered us to a handicap section. Thank you!
Tabernacle is a great place for live music. It has 3 stories and very wide bar to avoid long lines just to get a drink.I was there for a private party so I cant really tell the vibes on a regular night but I would say it has all the ingredients to provide an amazing and fun experience.
The most characteristic music venue in Atlanta, aside from maybe the Fox Theatre. As a somewhat intimate venue for a place that pulls bigger names, if a favorite band or entertainer of yours is coming through Atlanta and has this spot on their tour list, just grab the tickets; you wont be disappointed. Not the greatest parking situation though, not unlike most of anything in Midtown
Great lighting, great sound, I like how even if youre at the top you still have a full view of the show. They have monitors to help as well. Saw Dream Theater and will be back
A really funky and eclectic live music venue. Has a lot of charm and places to sit and relax before a show. The acoustics were great, particularly for the Head and the Heart. The ground floor standing room is nice but beware of standing in the two exit lanes; security is determined to keep them clear of people. Parking is a challenge, better to ride share.
Great venue. Sound is awesome. Watch out for people trying to rip you off after the show. ATL. Is always a Good time. Place has changed some over the years used to be much more laid-back .. But kids are so (fragile) nowadays.
Great venue here in Atlanta. The security is always super helpful and they always have more than enough staff for the events. The ushers are really sweet and more than willing to help.I will say, I missed one of the bands because the ticket said the show started at 8pm and doors opened at 7pm. Which is unfortunate because July Talk is a Canadian band and Id waited awhile to see them live, come to find out doors opened at 6pm and they went on at 7. So thats my only gripe, inaccurate show start times.
The building and atmosphere are great. It was my first show there and thought that all lived up to the high praise I’ve heard it be given. My only complaint was the sound quality for the show we went to was not good. You couldn’t hear what the lead singer was saying even when he was just speaking into the mic, which kind of ruined the show. I’m not sure if it was a problem throughout the venue or just a byproduct of us having to stand under the balcony, because it was a sold out show and they don’t have enough room on the open floor for number of tickets sold. If I try another show there, I’d probably opt for balcony seats and hopefully not have this problem.
I love this place. The staff was very nice the stage was perfect no matter where you sit or stand the view is great the ceiling is beautiful as well with a beautiful chandelier they even have the original structure still in place on the second floor Im guessing this is where they used to stand in the small boxes and project lights onto the stage from? But Im not sure but either way it is an amazing place its so cool I wanted to work there! Cant wait for the next event! And parking is behind the Tabernacle theres also street parking as well I paid 10 or $20 to park and a good way to find the Tabernacle is its exactly behind the big ferris wheel downtown Atlanta.
Going to church is always a spiritual experience. The venue holds just over 2,000 folks. Its a historic church that still has its charm. The paintings on the ceiling and the smell of beer seeping from the wood floor make for an amazing musical experience space. The stage still boasts the pipe organ from the previous religious tenants. If you ever think about going to a show here... Do it!
Grew up in the metro area and visited here a lot when I was younger. Just got to go back for a show and it was great. Dont let the area fool you, if you get there a little earlier parking is a breeze! Also, love the fact that the bar setups are everywhere they could fit one, so easy to get drinks before the shows. Its organized well, if youve not ever been it is really beautiful and interesting building on top of it all. Will definitely be returning to see more shows here.
When I went in September, the air conditioning was broken, so it was a little warm, but that is the only thing that bothered me. The building was beautifully painted and it was fascinating that the building used to be a church.
Very nice concert venue. Loved the multiple levels. Not too overcrowded. Easy to find and the workers were nice and accommodating.
Awesome venue with great acoustics. See you there every black Friday! Blackberry Smoke Holiday Homecoming 2019
Great venue every time I go. It’s smaller so no matter what ticket you get, you won’t be very far back. This view is from the second level 3rd row, and actually looks closer IRL. Parking is just expensive ($20 for right across the street)but typical for a city venue.
This is my absolute favorite venue to see a show. Its intimate enough that theres not a bad place to stand in the house (the floor is raked, too). Ive never had issues with sound quality and personnel has always been friendly. Ive been coming here for over a decade for shows and Im thrilled when an artist announces theyre playing here.
Freaking incredible shows here!
Keep it up, Im having thoughts of bringing the 5 star rating to 4 tbh
I’ve seen two concerts here. Great venue!
We saw Rex Orange County there and it was AWESOME!!!!. For such a small place the sound was great, people so friendly. Plenty of parking but you have to pay. Even had full bars on every floor, and restrooms.
Man it was awesome. I havent been to the Tabernacle in years. To night I went and saw King Diamond. The staff was really friendly and helpful. It wasnt just buying a beer, the staff would engage me in short conversation and then tell me to enjoy the show. They acted like they really enjoyed working there. Really good experience.
Seen this building for years but never stepped foot inside until a month ago. Very surreal and creative design. You can feel the historical aspects of it being an old converted church but modernized to be a venue for all types of events
Service was good, but the venue is only special because its old and lots of people have played there. The acoustics kinda suck. We were on the main level and could barely make out any lyrics. Midland was awesome though.
Great venue!!! Good seats on all levels, dark and eclectic decor, overall great layout. The only recommendation would be to improve the in-house menu.
Awesome venue... saw The Strokes with Kings of Leon many moons ago... cant wait to go back in July for Ministry, KMFDM, and Front Line.... I travel from Charlotte and it is still a great experience...
I’ve heard about this venue, I just assumed it was well liked because it looked cool, well it so so much more than that. It has a great staff, ran well, they know how to do the type of show that they book. I’ve almost stopped going to comedy shows in theaters this size because of all the distractions, that wasn’t the case here, everyone was here to see the show and there were minimal almost no interruptions or distractions. I came here from Orlando to see the same show I could have seen at the Hard Rock, I made a good choice.
I had a really great time and would rate this place five stars if it wasn’t for the rude event staffs I encountered. One guy I was asking how to get to a certain spot and instead of using etiquette he had a flip mouth. “It’s empty for a reason.” He says but I guess he didn’t notice the other people seated there. Not wanting to ruin my night, I told him I’ll talk to someone that’s not rude. Then, towards the end of the concert, that was jammed pack, one of the event staff just moved me out the way instead of asking, which I ended up in the same spot as before because was no room. Please teach your event staff that they shouldn’t always put their hands on people because not everyone is going to be so nice about it. Other than that it was an okay place.Update: I still haven’t heard from management about the situation. I’m assuming they condone everything that goes on or don’t care... maybe both. I will always tell others to not spend their money at this venue.
Really fun venue! Spectacular views from the rooftop!
My wife and I had never been here beforewe are from Chattanooga and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here seeing highly suspect. The venue is laid out well and taken care of. Parking was also easy in and out despite the crowds. Will come back definitely!
One of my favorite music venues. Sounds and atmosphere is always good. Getting through security and into the venus goes fast.
Love this venue. Relatively small so everyone gets a good view of the show. Bars everywhere in convenient places and also, more importantly, convenient bathrooms.
So sad to see an old church converted into a party and booze joint...wonder what happened to the people who built this fine old building?.... wouldnt you hate to be there when Jesus comes back?...... better get prepared..... Thanks
What an amazing experience. A very nice venue and great staff. Thank you for hosting Jay Park!!! Had a great time. Sorry no pictures. Only videos
Had a blast and really enjoyed hearing House of Waters for the first time. Snarky Puppy was as good as ever and the energy was amazing! Will definitely be coming back for another concert some time soon...!
All the staff was kind and helpful. Only thing about the tabernacle is that the floors are at a slight angle to help people in the back see better, this is nice but it does start to hurt your feet after a while. Just be prepared for that, wear comfortable shoes.
A great venue. Great sound. Simple Minds put on a fantastic 3 hour show.We sat in the second row of section 301, fantastic view. The first time we were there we sat in 400, that is a long ways up. 300s are worth the price. If you want to take the risk you can get 200s for almost the same price.
Great venue with a timeless look and feel. The acoustics werent the best but they definitely sounded better than a lot of local music venues. The security was very thorough. Although the drink prices were a little steep, they were in line with the rest of the concert and sports events around.
Ive seen many concerts here, and a standup comedy show. The venue is always clean and the acoustics are good. The bathrooms, most notably, are kept in fairly nice conditions. All in all, Id highly recommend seeing a band or comedy show here. Really nice location.
Ive been to to the Tabernacle for several shows. The sounds system is Great and I just like the atmosphere. Im always willing to go to a concert at this venue.
Ive always loved this place. I would have to really dig through my history to be able to say how many concerts and events I have attended here
The Tabernacle is a historic venue. That carries some weight. Atlanta is notorious for not valuing older architecture. The most recent show I went to was Internet. After you deal with expensive parking--I highly recommend Uber or Lyft--there was a long line in the POURING rain. We took one look and paid $20 extra each to go thru the express entrance. The amazing opening act, Moonchild started on time; bravo! But, from the middle balcony your view can be obstructed by metal pylons and the sound is warbled--I think that was stylistic and acoustic. The Internet was clearer--but, still too much reverb. The bathrooms are close but; the womens always has a ridiculously long line. But by far, the worst is the vibration of the middle (and possiblity upper) balcony--its not for the faint of heart--it feels like itll go one day and I hope its up to code!
Cool venue. Snooty staff though. Drinks over priced for sure. But worth a visit if your fav band or something is playing. Not a fan much of their security. It was almost too over the top and at times overly policing (aggression at an all time high). Definitely felt a lot of imbalance in staff. Some extremely Nice and then some the complete opposite. Very pretty inside though. CoolLittle set up
Love this venue. It has so much history and color. Love the ornate designs and great acoustics.
We went to see Sinbad at the Tabernacle. He was great as always! This is a very historic venue. Once was a very large church . It was converted to an entertainment venue right before the Atlanta Olympics. First operated as the House of Blues for a few years,it was renamed The Tabernacle in the late 90s A lot of the original architecture is still present. Including the massive organ pipes above the stage . The staff was very friendly and helpful. Getting into and out of the the was very easy. We had seats very close to the stage, which was great. But the seats themselves were hard wooden folding chairs. The venue does not have permanent seats on the floor area. I imagine this is because mostly musical acts that attract younger people are booked
Beautiful concert venue. Two balconies and a lot of floor space as well. There are about 6 bars scattered throughout the venue so its easy to get a drink, but the drinks are very expensive. The ceiling is covered in spot lights and a large chandelier.
Great place for events and concerts. I went this place for Atlanta United kit Unveiling event. They did great job and facility was perfect for the event. Old feel and vintage look make this place very special.
Cozy. A little weird that they had fold out seating, but we didnt care- We were seeing Nick Offerman for my husbands birthday. Clean bathrooms. Good sound.
Staff was amazing! Acoustics were beautiful... but those Smoked Chicken Wings in the VIP section were on a whole ‘notha level! We arrived early a found ourselves in a room with a beautiful platter of party food, all of which was good... but those WINGS! They even had Vegan wings if that’s your thing! I tried them and they were okay, but I went right back to housing those smoked drumsticks. Hats off to the chef and everyone who worked to make the night so enjoyable. It’s been a long time since I hit the Tabernacle, but I’ll definitely be back soon now that I know where to get the best chicken wings in ATL.
Drinks are expensive but worth the price. I do wish they didnt zip tie the chairs on the main floor together since getting seated between two big guys means you gotta get real cozy with them. They do keep the AC cranked up real high which might have been a problem if the big guys hadnt have been so warm. Metal folding chairs so you might want to bring a cushion to sit on if you dont have VIP seating. Be ready for homeless people to panhandle toy as you wait in line, the staff try to chase them off but theres a lot of them.
It was okay. Went to see Nghtmre and it ended super early and too much walking on stairs to get to the bathrooms and back to the seats. Plus, smoking was on the outside stairs and you get wet some when raining. Had a very nice seating area to chill though and it is nice to have seats when watching the performance.
