Our wedding ceremony was held here for their Champagne Vows all inclusive wedding experience, primarily started to help COVID-19 couples!!! The Venue is breathtakingly beautiful. We fell in love with it as soon as we walked on the property. We were the only wedding that day in July 2020. It was an amazing stress free experience!! It was magical and felt so personal and intimate!! Just like we longed for despite COVID altering our plans. The day couldnt have gone any better. Youre in good hands with this team!! The staff were wonderful and made sure all of our questions were answered and desires met. The venue itself is gorgeous throughout from the inside staircase to the gardens and fountains outside. We took photos everywhere with our photographers from Love & Story in Atlanta. Theyre Amazing!! At the time due to COVID-19, only close family and friends could attend but the package included a videographer who streamed to 100 virtual guests. The virtual guests could hear every sniffle and laugh!! Everyone enjoyed it and discussed how elegant and intimate everything looked and sounded. We thank our vendors so much for helping the COVID-19 couples celebrate our revamped big day in an amazing way!! It was so much better than we could have ever imagined. We wouldnt have changed a thing and it saved us so much money!! We highly recommend Callanwolde Fine Arts Center and all of our vendors!!
Its cool but nothing to write home about. A few beautiful rooms but nothing spectacular. We spent about 30 minutes and saw everything. I did go on a day when it was donation only. Not sure Id that changed the amenities or services. But we had no Santa or special music or performances 5 or 6 rooms, living room size with Christmas decor.
Very nice place to have an outdoor dinner and concert
Great place. Went here for lessons on the wheel. Staff are helpful. Will be going back.
Excellent place very beautiful staff is very friendly and helpful
I had never painted in my life. The Korian teacher was terrific. My class was small, however it was comprised of some very talented artists and myself. I truly enjoyed this adventure seeing what I could accomplish and watching the talented students create magnificent pieces of artwork
We attended a wedding here last night and the architecture was stunning! Great acoustics during the ceremony, large rooms with good temperature control, and you can feel the history in every groove of its rustic design. The green houses and gardens with lively fountains frame its elegance as you walk in and soak up the craftsmanship of a time long ago. Despite its close distance to us, the uniqueness of this mansion makes it a destination event spot.
What lovely gardens and location. Such a gem for us to have here. I especially enjoy attending weddings hosted here.
Best studio weve been to yet for pottery!
Such a lovely place and space. I love the ballroom. Great for events. DeKalb County is the host of its ownership.
I will get married again just so I can host the reception here!
Very interesting place tucked away in the city. Come to enjoy the grounds but be sure to check the calendar to find out what is going on. Beautiful old mansion with a well laid out garden and formal grounds. Lots of small local events and larger showings rotate through.
Been there for Art gallery. Nice space. Clean bathrooms. Beautifully done grounds.
Absolutely beautiful place, great for any events, large hallways and greatrooms. Nice for tours and magnificent stairway. A favorite of many.
Beautiful antique place. I would Love it for any ballroom/party events
Ive only used this place as a venue for weddings, so my review of this location is limited. It use to be a private residence that has been turned into an art center/event venue and therefore the layout is a little quirky and small. But for a small event, it works out nicely, with many accommodating spaces and a very helpful staff. A beautiful location when not raining.
I held my wedding ceremony and reception at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. The venue was appealing to me due to its beauty inside and out. Id dreamed of getting married in an outside setting, and this venue had multiple areas for this. I chose the Hydrangea garden for my ceremony due to its privacy. The grand staircase inside was my backup plan for unfavorable weather, and I would have been just as happy with this setting. The architecture and layout of the venue is so romantic and requires very little extra decor. So many of my guest were in awe of the venue and its grandness. The staff was easy to work with and accountable. Caroline, the venues event manager, is responsive and professional. When she was not available to meet with me or answer my questions, there was always someone else to attend to me in a very timely manner. Mr. Bernard was at the venue the entire day of my wedding helping my venders set up. Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is worth visiting simply for its history and beauty even if you arent interested in getting married there!
Beautiful place to visit, to look around, to loiter even! We had gone for the meet Santa over breakfast. The function was lovely. Wonderful decor. Different areas, rooms were done up by different interior designers, using different themes on Christmas itself. Thoroughly enjoyed them, took a lot of pictures.
A magnificent Wedding Venue
What a beautiful venue.Enjoyed #A CHARMING EVENINGFor a great cause, Recycling!!
The tour guide was not knowledgeable. I expected the holiday decorations would be better. The house is incredible.
Love Callanwolde for Art, Culture and the best Halloween and Holiday experiences! The art summer camps are outstanding.
Callonwolde was frankly disappointing. At the house, there were perhaps only 8-10 pieces of art to look at in the otherwise empty and rundown rooms. There was nothing in the greenhouse and the gardens, although filled with nice flowers, were very small. Unless you are there to attend a dance or art class, there is nothing to do and I advise you to not waste your time there.
Beautiful place! We have done the Easter Eggstravaganza twice now m. We always have a great time. The property is amazing, and if you have time you should explore the gardens. The price for the Easter event is very reasonable. The pictures with the Easter Bunny are free and the bunny was very friendly.
Such a pretty place. Everytime I go, I enjoy the events and ambiance. Nighttime events are the best.
Awesome show and experience. Cantcwait till next Summer.
Callanwolde was great! I saw an outstanding picture by Susan Hill. It is a must have for the family room!
Way to much smoking going on. being so close to Emory you would think people would know better. sort of ruined a otherwise very nice event.
My First experience seemed pleasant went for the annual scavenger hunt and my son had a blast. Lovely location and it accommodated the large number of children extremely well. #cakeslikevelvetatl
Great venue for a friends wedding we attended.
A nice holiday tradition
Pass by this place many times. Converted mansion for all things fine art. I went here to see a musical recital. The place is magically relaxing and enchanting. Has a courtyard as well.
People here are so gracious. So welcoming !!!
Very nice building went to deliver a wedding cake. Some of the teachers who work in the weekend gave the the guests workers who paid to have a reception a hard time while they were setting up.
Venue is great!
Great place for art classes for both kids and adults! I loved the drawing classes and my son loved summer camp.
Love this place! The instructors for my pottery classes have been wonderful. Never a lack of communication when there are big events or film productions happening that will impact student parking.
Beautiful beautiful place. I got married there in 2014 and have been to several events there. Always very clean. Its always a heart warming experience.
It was nice. Lots of parking, many buildings for the creative arts, huge house to hold events and art galleries.
Beautiful space to visit or sign up for a myriad of classes, or attend an event or even contract as a venue for your own event. The coffee/bakery was advertised as open, and wed have loved to enjoy something there, but it was locked so we couldnt even sneak a peak at that room. The lawn/gardens are nicely cared for. I would love to see even more of the space with garden as it was historically.
I am from British Columbia Canada and was warmly greeted by my own Santa Chip when my sister and I entered. A lovely home full of history Bobbie in the lunch was able to tell us about as we ate a sandwich and coffee she served us. We were a captive audience and bought some aprons there. What a lovely knowledgeable lady. A sweet southern gem. Thanks so much for a lovely memory to carry home. Merry Christmas Mrs. Betty- Jo Hetherington.
Beautiful art museum. Really enjoyed the Christmas decorations and activities. Highly recommend for date night. My girlfriend loved it.
Very nice venue to have an intimate wedding.
My husband and I had our wedding there on 8-14-16 and we absolutely loved it! It was reasonable & practically decorated so didnt need much more. Kaitlin worked with us from booking til the week of & made it so easy! The day of Curtis was our contact person & he was AWESOME..... Anything we needed he made it work (also reminding me to enjoy the day & let him handle it) which was so relaxing! Our pictures are amazing with the help of this venue! Im so glad we chose a Sunday because we had the mansion for the whole day to ourselves!
If you are in the Atlanta area it is a must see! They have classes to sign up for or you can take a walk around and observe the history and beautiful grounds. We hosted an event here last month and were amazed with the hospitality. The staff is eager to help, and very accommodating. The venue is outstanding, with beautiful and rooms and architecture. Its great to see this place is being preserved by people who are equally passionate about the history as with sharing it with the community. We hope to work with them again very soon!
This is a beautiful place with gorgeous grounds. I truly enjoyed the history and decor inside the Center. Its a great environment for any gathering or event.
Great historical home and full of architectural detail. We were also there during the Callanwolde Art Show, a real treat in its own right.
Went there for wedding very nice place
Very nice event space..
Beautiful building and grounds for special events.
Christmas at Callanwolde is well worth the visit!!! Santa Claus welcomes you at the entrance, the house is filled with beautiful decor, the staff is most welcoming and most knowledgeable (especially Bobbie in the Cafe!!!), and the music of either the piano or the organ fill the entire house!
The Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is a beautiful venue for weddings and events, it practically sells itself. Grounds and mansion were amazing. Wedding moved from outside to inside the mansion with little notice due to sweltering heat. If you are in the area it is a must see!
My kids take classes here and it is such a wonderful place. I cant say enough good things about the classes and the staff. They have adult classes as well. We are so lucky to have Callenwolde in our community.
Beautiful, elegant..Simply Perfect
Callanwolde is not just any historical location, it is a journey to new adventures. Any time of the year, you will find something new to discover. The staff is diverse, friendly and knowledgeable. Go for a walk, pottery or music you will leave amazed.
We are a full-service event planning company in Atlanta that planned a wedding for our clients at Callanwolde. From the minute we met with the staff at Callanwolde we knew we were in good hands! Every staff member we met with or had contact with was always helpful and knowledgeable. Caitlin King, asst. GM was amazing to work with as our main contact - she was always responsive and so helpful. The day of the wedding they were filming a movie on-site. The GM, Mike Rice and his team did an outstanding job as promised to have the venue ready and on-time for the ceremony that day. We would recommend this gorgeous venue not just because of the beauty but because of the staff! Many thanks to Callanwolde for making Rick & Nicoles wedding day the best day ever!
Callanwolde is in incredible building.. Stunning architecture and outstanding woodworking.. Any event they host is always made even more spectacular by the Comfort, Warmth and Grace of this home...
A perfect place for any event!
Absolutely beautiful events area. Attended a wedding there and absolutely loved it!
This is a wonderful fine arts center. Its building is beautiful and historic, and the many classes that it offers are wonderful. My children have been taking classes here, especially dance, for a decade. It is an important anchor for the neighborhood.
70 artists displaying fine art & fine craft items. Something for everyone!
Its a nice place to visit
Beautiful manor, with architectural greatness. It is a gorgeous place with lots of history, dating back to the founder of Coca-Cola.
My daughter took a book making class this summer. Callanwolde has a wonderful cafe on site-- upstairs in the main building. All week spent time working and chatting with Bobby and Chip... Great folks and great conversations!
We had a chance to attend a beautiful wedding in July at Callanwolde. The location is beautiful and discretely tucked away in the neighborhood just outside of downtown. Once onsite you have a nice driveway leading you through the landscaped grounds and amazing garden area. The banquet room is huge and looks out to the courtyard. This is one of the grandiose venues that i have attended for a wedding and I look forward to seeing it during one of their art showcases throughout the year.
Great I love the atmosphere. It is beautiful there.
My brothers wedding was held here and I thought it was beautiful!!!
It was fantastic eye-opening thought-provoking art in every sense of the word
I attended a wedding event. Nice place to have an event.
Love the Old Atlanta culture
Disappointed to hear that the West African Dance Class has been cancelled. There has been ongoing controversy with this dance program. I think leadership changes has caused the loss of great instructors and legal action. Lack of diverse programming. It is an Arts Center after all yet little offerings for the greater community. What a shame.
I attended the GreenHeart Gala held for Cee-Los green agenda. The beautiful Callanwolde Fine Arts Center was a picture perfect place for the gala as the Ruby Callaway Greenhouse sits on the grounds; Cee-Los project honoring his late Grandmother and community activist, Ruby Callaway. Wonderful event at a Wonderful place.
Great Venue for Weddings, social events and so forth... I would definitely frequent. had a wonderful time at the Second Annual Daddy Daughter Dance
Beautiful event center for any high class event you are looking to have.
Always a classic, beautiful architecture, good community events and classes.
Nice place to visit.
It was great. I had a lot of fun.
Attended a wedding here. Would like to come back for your. Very interesting history of building.
The Easter hunt was ok until a employee of the garden threaten to call police on children 4& 5 years old for starting the Easter hunt 2mins before time
As a professional Wedding DJ we have worked at this venue several times and each time has been AMAZING!
Cool place. Nifty art show.
Unprofessional staff. Failure to pay teaching artists per written email communication and agreement. Poor follow up from board members.
A lazy hot evening in an uncrowded garden listening to rich jazzy music was good
BEAUTIFUL VENUE!! HAVE REFERRED TO FRIENDS FOR THEIR EVENTS!!
Beautiful place but it was very Hot in the building
Its a cool place ! I have a membership here.I would love to enjoy this placereat place to take the kids and friends from out of town. I still remember my first visit. Pretty cool.
Very nice good place to have a party
Beautiful venue and perfect for bigger weddings because of all the rooms and space that allow guests to move about. Huge area for dining/dancing that can be separated from ceremony area, plus theres ample outdoor space for mingling on the patio.
