Very nostalgic, almost identical to my youth. Pretty sure its the same carpet. The concessions are not what they were in my day, but times change. My kids had a blast. The rink is no longer concrete but wood and quite nice to skate on. It really just lacks the enthusiasm with the games that they do though compared to the ones when I was young. Not much encouragement for participation, just kind of a get it over with quick thing. That was a bummer to me. All in all though, it was a fun evening and my kids want to go back.

Could use some touching up. The carpet was hard to skate on. Took my daughter for a girls night out. It was fun. Not over crowded. Everyone was super nice. We will be back bc its not over priced. Plus they played good songs. Not the ones that are played out.

This was one of the best nights out Ive had in quite some time. The rink was clean and the service was top notch. I loved having the entire rink to myself, was able to practice some fun moves. The DJ played any music that we wanted. No alcohol, but their drink selection was excellent. Cant wait to come back and skate the night away. Cheap and fun entertainment!

My youngest (of 5 children) had her birthday party here and it was cool.️ The last time I gave one of my kids a party here was almost 14yrs ago Staff was helpful! They have assistance walkers for children new to skating.

Just had my daughters 11th birthday party here. Great place for a skate party. They handle all the details all you have to do is bring cake. The staff made sure my daughter had a great day. Also the different packages offered are great and for a great price.

We booked a party for our 7 year old and it was so much fun! We did “On the Cheap” and got a table for bringing our birthday cake and balloons. That got 10 kids admission and skates and two adults. Addie also got to Spin the Wheel for prizes, lead a game on the rink, and got a t-shirt. The hosts were amazing and she was super happy and all her family and friends had a great time. I highly recommend booking a birthday party here! It’s a great value. The whole pizza is only $14 if you need to add that also. Super fun deal! She also has a ticket for free admission another day.

The staff was extremely accommodating for our impromptu party. We had a great time. Their roller-walkers they made for the beginner skaters are brilliant!

We had our daughters 6th Birthday party at Fun Galaxy-Athens on Sunday afternoon. Kenny was super nice, personal, and helpful throughout the entire process. He greeted all of the guests personally as they arrived, and constantly checked with us to make sure we had everything we needed. He did a lot of games, songs, and activities that kept everyone happy and involved, even the adults. My daughter said it was her best birthday ever. Thanks again Kenny!!

We had the BEST time at Fun Galaxy. We had our sons 8th birthday there. The facility is very nice and the staff was friendly and welcoming. My son is already planning his 9th birthday. Hes saying it has to be and Fun Galaxy!! Thanks so much for making my sons birthday one for him to remember!

Loved everything about it! The DJ was playing great music! Mainly for the younger generation, but nothing like feeling young again at the skate around lol. The ONLY thing I’d suggest changing is the food menu bc the pizza wasn’t great. Especially for the price. Besides that though, pricing for party package, good ole time, music, the server was also great and kind and workers around were great too! Definitely will be choosing them again for a party!

Reading previous reviews & responsive from the owner, I was very apprehensive to visit. However, my daughter wanted to go skating and this was the only local skating rink that was open so... We went Tuesday night. Tuesday nights are $2.00 for admissions and skates which is fantastic! Like I said, from reading past reviews my opinion could not have been much lower intinally. I could not have been more wrong! It was very clean, staff was friendly, music was good, and the actual rink seemed larger than other skating rinks around. I was surprised how busy it was for a Tuesday. Even more surprised it was so clean for having so many little hands everywhere. My only complaint that I would have is they really needed a referee on the skate floor. With the littles using the skate helpers, kids going the wrong direction and the packs of teenage girls holding hands blocking others from skating pass them. They did an announcement that they were short staffed so Im assuming thats why. Of course some people Love to give bad reviews but I was really glad that we went and saw for ourselves.

Roller derby girl here! Ive frequently skated at Fun Galaxy Athens for almost a year now. The floor is wood and hasnt been polished in while (which is good!). I weigh 180 and 93a wheels work nicely on this surface. I currently use a morty setup with two Boom X-Firm and two Boom XX-Firms on each skate.The carpet and fixtures look a bit dated, but the A/C and heat works great during normal business hours. I cant say much about the snacks cuz I dont eat that stuff but they do have a large eating area. The womens bathroom is a bit cramped (sorry tall ladies!).

This place and its staff are a fantastic way to have a 15th birthday party for our family we highly recommend this place

We take our kids here to skate once a week and they love it! I have watched them get better each week... my 5 year old started out using a rental skate mate to help her learn and now is doing much better and doesnt need it any longer. We also celebrated my sons 14th birthday here and they made sure to make it special for him! I highly recommend Fun Galaxy for a family fun night out or an easy and inexpensive birthday party option.

The whole place has a sketchy vibe. There are no sinks and one missing door in the women’s bathroom. Some of the staff members were sweet but I was surprised to find out who the manger was.... He was very rude and had a terrible attitude. Highly do not recommend going there, unless for some reason you’re in dire need to roller skate to Old Town Road.

Ok...so this place should maybe change its name to MRSA HOUSE, because as every other roller skating rink in America, it hasnt changed anything (or cleaned anything for that matter) since it was built in 1980. But the kids have a great time here of course, so it gets 3 stars....that is, until one of their employees gets out on the rink and starts knocking kids down (without apologizing) because he wants to zoom around the place without regard for the tiny humans hes about to steamroll. That was the most annoying (appalling?) thing that happened....oh yeah I forgot the food problem. Our schools visit had been scheduled for a while, but none of the employees knew we were coming or were called in to work that minute because the boss forgot. So when dinner time rolled around, and kids want to eat, they dont have any food. When we asked for pizza, the brat at the counter is like well.....i would have to make it like thats an impossible thing to do. And then, he said they didnt have chicken fingers or chicken nuggets or corn dogs or pretzels, or basically anything on their menu (I wonder now if they had them, but he just didnt feel like making them) So, other than all that, the kids have a really great time. $6 for entrance and skate rental. $3 if you bring your own skates.

Always a good time, we had a bday party for 8 yr old with about 15 people; owner Kenny saw to us personally and made sure the kids all had a great time, staff kept up with us and did a great job!

Man this place is fun! Maybe not the fanciest rink around, but the way its operated is relaxed, engaging, & thoughtful.The owner seems about as excited as some of the kids about having good time. HahaAll this adds up to an exciting & amusing energy in the air. Its kinda contagious.I travel often & skate at lot of different rinks.

Love the fact they did unlimited pizza and drinks on a Saturday when I went. I wish they did that when I was growing up! The atmosphere is great with a friendly staff! I am looking forward to booking a future birthday event!

We have had all 3 of our kids birthday parties here. The staff was friendly, food was great, and we all loved the games and skating. The owner is the best!!! Will be having the parties here again next year Im sure.

My son had his 8th birthday party here this past weekend. It was his favorite party so far AND the cheapest one we’ve had. Kenny replied quickly via email and answered all of my questions prior to our party date. They had plenty of party options to choose from and they were all affordable. Everyone was super nice and we were greeted right when we walked in. We did not feel rushed at all. They even allowed my son to request songs which was his favorite part. We did contact the other skating rink in Athens before picking this location. We chose Fun Galaxy because they were more affordable and were also very responsive. We will definitely be returning! The staff here is excellent! All the kids AND adults had a blast a the birthday party we had here. The place was very clean and reasonably priced. I cant say enough about how entertaining and attentive all of the employees here were during our party! I HIGHLY recommend Fun Galaxy and DEFINITELY will be back!!!

Our kids love coming here for family night or birthday parties. The staff was so friendly and catered to our birthday party so well. They were all so kind and willing to help with anything. The owner answered the phone after hours and even called me back once when he missed a call. Email follow up for the party scheduling was prompt. Great place for party where you can let the kids be kids!

I have been to several different skating rinks and this was by far the best, decent facility with friendly staff. My husband and I booked a private party for our sons birthday and they were amazing and friendly. They constantly kept asking if we needed any help or was there anything we needed. Definitely will be back and as far as for the two gentlemen that worked my sons party THANK YOU VERY MUCH! He definitely had the best 7th Birthday Party exactly how he wanted it!!

I couldnt have picked a better place to celebrate my daughters 9th birthday! The staff was very accommodating, allowing me the opportunity to enjoy the party and guests. I wasnt running around setting up or cleaning up. They did everything!!!! The staff made my daughter feel like a star for her special day!!!!!!

Its a cool place to take the kids and let them get some energy out! They love it!! Some of the staff is friendly and some not so much but you learn who is and who isnt and just try to stay away from the ones that are not as people friendly. Otherwise I would give it a 5 star. We will visit as often as we can because the kids love going so much!

It was okay. Some of the music was inappropriate and I was surprised at the 5 dollar rental fee for the trainers or walkers. Not sure what theyre called. Also the staff wasnt very welcoming at all. The kids enjoyed it for the most part.

We came out today for the first time and had so much fun! The staff greeted us like we were family and the guy at the skate window was friendly and put up with us not really knowing our sizes, because well, roller skates never fit like your shoes. The only complaint is the hardwood needs a good cleaning all the tape and glue and what looked like gum really can trip you up. My family had a great sunday afternoon though so it was a good trip in my book.

Its a great place to host a birthday party. They made my birthday girl really feel special. Its a spacious skating ring for everyone.

This past weekend we had my sons 7th birthday party here. We choose the Glow Party upgrade for his party and we were amazed. All I can say is wow! First of all the staff were great! I believe the young ladies name who hosted our party was Barbi and she was a fabulous party host. The kids got to choose music and the walkers there were great for smaller kids. The floor was nice and clean and we were asked multiple times if we needed anything. The staff even helped out some of the kids who were struggling with basic skating directions. But.........The absolute best part was the fact that I didnt have to set up or clean up anything. All of us parents can appreciate that. For the price we may be doing this again next year.

This place is kinda ghetto. They did have anything to drink they didnt put ice in the drink. We were here on all you can eat pizza night and they couldnt keep enough pizza to feed everyone the they had to leave to get pepperoni. Hood rat kids running all over the place you cant get around the common area. The pizza they did cook was barely warm because they were not prepared so i ordered a pretzel and sure enough it was raw too. Bottom line is this place is pathetic and not safe. The bathrooms are nasty and the staff is to busy flirting with people to do there job. Do no go to this place. Save your money for something that you enjoy and dosent make u angry.

I had my daughters 8th birthday here and it was fantastic. We had a private party on a Sunday and had about 70 people total -38 kids. The owner was very helpful and easy to work with. Really fun atmosphere and for all the young kids that couldnt skate the walkers were a hit! Several of her friends have already said they want their parties here. And you cant beat the price for unlimited invites! It would have cost me a small fortune for that many kids at other birthday venues in Athens.

Good place to go on Thursday, they have a great deal: admission, roller skate rental, and all you can eat pizza for $5. The rink is big enough and the employees were friendly.The carpet is in really bad shape, it needs to be replaced, but other than that, is a good place.

Very nice presentation on the website, but the actually place is a whole different story . Its impossible to go here without kids misbehaving, and the staff doesnt care at all. When I was here, kids were running across the rink without skates on, and I kept bumping into this one kid with a walker.

I wish they can expand and get a bigger place to Piggly Wiggly say close down beside them would have been perfect they are just a little small but it is a extremely fun place to take your family they have specials too so check them out all you can eat pizza some nights and its really good

Everything is great there except the place needs a make over badly. Smells bad. Yall need to take some of that money you charge people to update the place. We have always used skate around or fun galaxy until We went to the other skating rink. So much nicer,cleaner, smells better and cheaper and their floor is Awesome. Sorry Fun Galaxy but yall need a 100% remodel.

The kids enjoyed themselves! They have these crutch like things with wheels that you can rent to help any first time or beginner skaters, which was very helpful since there isnt a kiddy rink. The few issues I had personally were the other kids had toys(balls) on the skate floor which could have been hazardous to others and themselves and some of the music (songs) had curse words which was (in my opinion) inappropriate for Saturday afternoon but overall its GREAT place for the family.

Stealing?? The father of the birthday boy who paid for the party at your establishment, lent me his skates and told me to go skate with my kids since he could not skate. No worries Kenny, I will be giving you a review on yelp that you can’t “delete”. As a guest at your establishment I felt harassed and made to feel unwelcome and uneasy. We will never visit this place or recommend it to any of our friends.

My daughter always emjoys going skating at Fun Galaxy. Very nice owners and staff. Only giving 4 stars b/c bathroom and some of the rental skates need a little tlc. Otherwise a great place to go.

Came in the other day with my fiancé, the first thing I notice is the no outside food or beverage sign. Whatever, no big deal ya gotta make money somehow I suppose. The second thing I see is that it is a cash only skating rink, alright a bit of an inconvenience but yall have an ATM at the door so its cool. I also notice that this facility does not offer inline skates, only dingy quad skates, again not that big of a deal seeing as how we brought our own skates (though they lost a few extra dollars cause I would have paid for rental inline skates). A major issue that I noticed was there were basically no rules when it came to the actual skating floor. Everything else I can look past seeing as its a rather small skating rink with seemingly limited clientele. But the moment I step on the rink to skate and enjoy myself I have to watch out for teenagers and kids either (literally) laying on the floor posing for pictures or conglomerated towards the back of the skating rink. I am in no means new to skating, I am aware of my surroundings when skating but that is ridiculous. Between that and the lights sporadically flickering on and off, someone could really get hurt. Giving it a 2/5, will probably be back to give it one more shot, maybe we just came at a bad time or something

We visited this establishment for our friends sons birthday and we were very disappointed with the owner of the establishment. The one little guy that was working behind the skate and food counter was great but the owner harassed my husband and accused him of stealing. The father of the birthday boy, who paid for the party at this establishment, told my husband he could use his skates to skate with our kids because he couldn’t skate, and the owner of the establishment came out on the floor and told him he could either pay him $7 or he had to take the skates off. Even the father of the birthday boy was over the attitude of the owner. He went off on my husband in front of our children and started saying how he has to pay his Georgia Power Bill and this and that. He harassed him and made him feel unwelcome. I would think twice before recommending or attending any events at this establishment.

My son had his 10th bday hosted by these wonderful people! From walking in to the time we left, they were attentive, interest in doing anything we needed for a smooth party with all his buddies. They served pizza, drinks and kept the kids busy with fun, competitive games. I usually spend my kids birthdays stressed, so busy that I cant soak in the experience and have to clean up before and after the party. Not this time! We will definitely make this our new bday spot. Love it!
